:hooray: Jagger just took his first 2 steps on his own this afternoon! :leap:
I am so so so sooooooo excited!
He was cruising the lounge and I was just behind him to catch him if he fell. Well all of a sudden he turned around and took 2 steps towards me then fell into my arms! Most exciting moment since he was born!
Now I'm just hoping I can get him to recreate the moment when DH gets home. So bummed that he missed it! The one thing I hate about his long hours. He's missed most of the first moments now :(
But nevermind, there'll be plenty of time for him to see. The fun stuff is just beginning!

Well it seems yesterday was the day for talking thoise first steps as Tara also took her first unaided steps as well. DH & I sat on the floor to get her to walk between us and she did it about 5 times from me to DH (but not back again). She was so happy with herself that evertime she did it she would clap hands and bounce around, so we are going to try again tonight to see if we can get anymore solo steps from her as well. Oh, we are also starting to get more words out now as well... she now says "All Gone" when finished food and "See Ya" would be her too most recent sayings along with "hello" which she says all the time,but it is so good to see her development.
As for me....well I am officially HALF WAY TODAY... my c/s is booked for 38w+4d and I am 19w+2d today. It is scary and exciting at the same time although it appears I might now be suffering with PUPPS as I have a horrid rash on my tummy that has been around now for 5 days (looks like little red pin*****s everywhere), I'm just hoping I can get something to relieve the discomfort soon (I've tried a heap of topical creams) but I've been reading it can last for the rest of the pregnancy. I so hope not as I still have all of summer to get through as well.

ohhhh boc hun :) things havent been all that good for us in 2010 the photo is actually of my second eldest now jessika and she too is living with my mum and is due to have her little boy in march but she will not get that far as bub is breech and huge so they are going to give her a c/s sooner as my dear boc shes only 14 and a half yrs old. ssoooo things have not been all that good as i did not want this pg to continue at all she is a baby herself and it caused a lot of family problems ..though we have all sorted things out now the baby is on its way and i guess we have to deal with it..i will not be raising these babies ive made it very clear ,mum will be doing it all as shes the one who thinks and thought it was ok to let these girls get pg.i love the 2 eldest girls to death but they have now lived with my mum for ever sophie has been with my mum since she was 2 and jess about 4 so a long time im more like a big sister to them pair as i was ever so young and not good when i had them pair so thank god for my mum ..she is a wonderful mum and does do her best sooo thats all i ask.as for jaymee and courtney they will always be with coop and me and charlie.so there you go a bit of smithy history also the reason mum has alsways had the girls is that i had server pnd with them both couldnt cope my ex was a twat and could keep his hands to himself ,i was addicted to drugs and really didnt care much.but here we are all these yrs later ..im a brillant wife,mummy,daughter,im clean off drugs for 7 yrs dont drink and i try hard..i have copped so much **** for leaving my kids with my mum for all these yrs but i tell ya what no im older and wiser i dont care what anyone thinks .ive neva been judged here on bb ,as i know i did the best thing for my girls.ok so there we go finally i tell the truth :)
Oh Barney :hug: you really have been through the wringer haven't you? But you should be so proud, you have bounced back so well from such a challenging situation. Good on you for turning your life around! And look where it has brought you, you now have the Awesome Coopster & little Princess Charlie by your side! (not to mention your other girls)

As for the situations with Sophie & Jessika, well teenagers just have minds of their own don't they? And unfortunately the days of chastity belts are long gone. Sometimes, as much as we hate to see it, they just have to learn about life the hard way. You did what you thought was best for them by having them live with your mother. And all you can do is your best.
You are doing a great job being clean for so long and being a fantastic Wifey & Mumma.

We're doing well here. On the back of the 2 steps the other day we are sooooo close to crawling (yep little monkey is way too much like his Mumma, does everything backwards :lol:). But it's more like a bum-shuffle than a crawl at the moment. He crawls with his hands & one knee then sits up on the other leg & then goes again hahaha. We haven't had any more steps yet. He took a nasty tumble while pulling himself up yesterday and has been a little reluctant to try standing again.
Well I'd better go, J just pegged his bottle at me, narrowly missed my head (letting me know he's finished and wants to get on the floor & play again LOL). Have a lovely day peoples!

im feeling a little low of late and a bit angry and for no reason at all i love life,my huband and my kids so im a bit lost as to why.im truely thinking its because i really do try to hard in life trying to be a good wife and mum is hard work and sometimes exausting so i rekon thats all it it.
so my point being i might spend a fair bit of time on bb (yes i no dh :)) but its cause i love the place and id rather be doing this and enjoying all my girls then be out getting drugged or drunk and not looking after my kids.the bb community is a life savour for a lot of us is more ways then i think they know.

why BOC, how strange you asked... i haven't gotten on the thread for ages due to the move and there you are wondering if i'd been eaten by the darwin humidity monster!

Kelly - yippee for tara. she'll be off like a rocket now! that's how is all started with Ash and now the little toad goes off to explore various parts of the house all by him lonesome! he is also nearly running but it usually involves daddy chasing him around the lounge and he's laughing and squealing so much he falls over in excitement!
well we've had a very tough few weeks with ashton. he was fine while we were in the hotel but the first 2 weeks in our new house were awful. Poor little blighter was so confused about what was going on and used to cat napping in cars/prams between house appointments etc that he just wasn't able to settle himself in his cot like he used to!
it too some gentle proding and much patience but we are back to him putting himself to sleep in his cot, pfew!
He's still very very sensitive tho ie dh was grocery shopping at ash's bed time last week and bub just would NOT go to sleep (and screamed his head off instead) until DH got home and gave him a cuddle! He's also still pretty clingy, not as bad as a week ago but when he's tired i'm no allowed to go more than a metre away, apparently!
Anyway he's still settling in and sleeps are all over the place.
Question time: What age is your child and what is their sleep pattern/routine like?
today Ash woke about 7.30am and was put down at Noon (we tried for a morning sleep but he laughed at us, literally).
Yesterday, he went down at 11am for his morn nap and didn't wake til 1.45pm. Stayed up til bed at 6.30pm.
Usually tho he wakes at 7am, back in bed by 10am, up by Noon, in bed about 3pm, up by 5pm and back to bed at 7pm.
I'm just not sure if he's dropping his morning sleep and as a result his arvo sleep gets moved back to lunchtime OR if he's still not feel settled and is sorting his stuff out. Opinions?

All I can say is WOW barney, you certainly have lived a very interesting life but all that matters is that you did the best for your girls during that time and now you have a new beautiful family with a wonderful husband. It must be hard for you however to see what your DD's are going through being teen mum's but unfortunately there is only so much you can do and ultimately they will do what they want. I'm sure you have noticed a change in Sophie since she had Chayse (ie: had to grow up very fast and the responsibility of a baby) and maybe once Jessika has her baby the same thing will happen. Sometimes it takes such a major life changing event to happen to realise how easy life used to be..
Grub: Good to hear from you, now about your sleep question..... Once Tara hit 12 months her sleep pattern started to change during the day, she still has her long night sleeps but where I used to put her down for a morning and afternoon nap now she will generally have 1 BIG sleep during the day (anywhere from 1 1/2 - 3 hours). I find that this now means that she goes to bed earlier - 7 - 7.30pm - but if she has had a busy couple of days then she still might have 2 sleep if she really needs to catch up.
Anyway, all good here. Tara is now getting more daring with her steps and also the boys have started to move heaps in the past couple of days. I even went and purchased my first blue clothes today (not much I'll wait for the sales but a little something to start us off).

Barney, yet again i'm just silenced after reading your story. What an amazing job you've done to get yourself and your family where you are now, you should be very proud of yourself!!! As the others have said, you can only do what you can do at the time and sounds like you did the best thing for your older girls by allowing your mother to take them. I hope you're feeling better after the decision to talk to a counsellor, I know even making that decision has made a difference for me in the past. I'm currently on anti-depressants for anxiety and working up to talking to someone again so I applaud you, it's not easy.

Kel, OMG, how can you be halfway already??? Have you found this pregnancy is going faster because you have Tara to look after and (theoretically anyway ;)) don't have as much time to obsess over every twinge etc?
Grub - Finn has no routine whatsoever with his sleeping. If I had responded last week it would be a very different response to now. We're still struggling to get him to sleep in his cot, his day sleeps are in our bed and at night he's in his moses basket. He's too big for that now so we should move him to his cot but it's just not happening. But roughly he wakes about 7, is up for about 1.5 hours then down again for about 90 mins, then has maybe one or two 30 min naps later in the day, usually waking around 2ish at the moment and then going down for the night around 7ish... But was totally different last week and today he's getting his 6 month needles so i'm sure it will all change again. Hope Ash settles down soon for you.

We're just cruising along. Finn has started solids but being the very strong willed little baby that he is has decided that he can feed himself and refuses to let us put the spoon in his mouth. So dinner time is rather a messy affair but he seems to be enjoying it, although I don't know how much he's actually getting in! And he's finally worked out how to roll from his back to his front though when he gets there he doesn't like it and seems to have forgotten how to roll back again so starts crying!!
He's awake now so better get him up. Hope all is well xx
Yay, Finn is six months today which means I've made it to the magic six months mark of breastfeeding!! After all the pain and tears and issues I had for the first six weeks I didn't ever think I'd make it this far, I was so close to giving up so many times and I'm so glad persevered :)
