Just my two cents worth too. I think it's excellent that you have sought help barney and i also think it's so so good that you are seeing a counsellor - and that you didn't just get prescribed a tablet! In the long run I think it's the counselling that will continuie to help into the future when the A/D's are no longer prescribed.
Good on you anyway. Sheesh, you have had quite enough to handle last year, lets hope 2011 continues onwards and upwards.
 Thank you so much girls and for what its worth im so happy lenny that you do have 2 cents worth hun beacause i do not want these tablets to be a quick fix either hun as ive never been a tablet person and i think there just going to help while i get sorted a bit :) the lady that im seeing only deals with PND and i love her,she was so nice and understanding and i went in there telling myself to be open and honest or there was no point being there you know why pretty thing up i thought,so at first i was a bit iffy but after that she was very lovely to me ,im not sure if i feel like this cause shes a women but it felt ok anyway id rather a lady.also im off tomorrow to the dr to get my thyroid results so that could? explain something too who knows.i truely appreciate all your support, ive got a very long way to go yet but i feel like i will get there sooner then later this time.
BIG  to you my dear! We are so proud of you! :hooray:
PS - LUVVING your blog!
BBL guys, got some work today so have 4 reports that need to be in by midnight...EEK!
Big hugs being sent your way Barney. You should be an inspiration to everyone who has those low times and thinks it will all be o.k, sometimes sugar coating won't cut it. PND is very serious and you taking these steps to being a better you is just fantastic and I love the fact that you have found a counsellor that is a female and that you are comfortable with.
Hi girls, I have been majorly missing in action, but I have very good excuses believe me! I have really missed you girls and have enjoyed reading and catching up this morning whilst master Adam is still snoring.
Barney love, so glad you are getting some help, you are brave and you will feel so much better. counselling rocks I reckon......which is why I'm studying to be a psychologist of course! You may only need A/D very short term to help you into a better frame of mind, and you will gain skills from the counselling that you can you use forever xx
Murph - go Jazzy, that is sooooo awesome, what an amazing moment in time for her. The start of somethig truly special.
Congrats MAD on your new bundle of joy, well done.
Hello to everyone, bit of a me post today.
I have had an eventful few months. As you know, my sis got diagnosed with bowel cancer and has been busy with chemo/radio and major surgery just before Christmas. she is doing well, but veeeerrrrrry skinny which I don't like. She got a fantastic pathology report after the op so she is feeling very positive about the future.
Two days before Christmas, a friend with a 2 month old baby committed suicide:crying: She had suffered depression on and off for many years, and became depressed at 6 months pregnant and just could not get on top of it. She was a doctor who was getting all of the help available including a stay at a mother and baby unit. In the end, she planned the suicide and waited until her husband was away on business for the day and her parents had taken the baby for a walk to help out. So incredibly sad.
As you also know, my DH is a bit of a hoarder, well it's a nightmare. The situation and the way we were communicating just deteriorated after Christmas so unfortunatly I had to leave to find a safe place. Frankly he wasn't being very respectful towards me and I cracked. I stayed with a freind for 2 weeks, as DH and I had many painful discussions about our relationship etc, and I decided to get a place of my own renting until we could sort it out. This upset him greatly, partly I think becasue of the embarrassment of me leaving, but now that I am here, he actaully seems okay. It was heart wrenching and horrible, but we both feel that it can be fixed, and we are starting again! I have lost so much weight, but getting my appetite back again now.
I have spent my life saying how lucky I am and nothing ever happens to me lol. Should have kept my mouth shut as you never know what is around the corner!
PS. Adam is absolutely fine, chatting away, and sees his Dad every day.
Goodbye 2010, you were a bit of a biatch, hello 2011 please be kind!
first off i'll do barney... good on you for getting support and even better for sharing on this forum. it's so important people talk about it and we destigmatise illnesses like this. You've not only helped yourself, but every single person who reads your post because you are being so open and honest about it. so kudos to you love and i hope your good feelings just get better and better. oxox
neptune. love! sending you heaps of hugs. that is so sad about your friend, so terribly terribly sad. her poor family :( I hope you are okay.
and that's great news about your sis! hope she is feeling better after surgery and chemo! those positive thoughts will go a long way to helping her recover too.
and i really have to applaud you for making that difficult decision to leave the house with adam. I know you have really tried to avoid doing that and didn't want it to go that far but i'm glad that once it's had to be done you are all feeling a bit better.
it might help your DH to come over and see a neat/tidy house is like and how much more comfortable it is... it MAY help him detach a bit from his stuff. at the end of the day you have a bigger responsibilty to adam than trying to perservre with a hubby who doesn't want to change. It's so hard, cos as you know, it's got to come from him. you can want him to change so badly but it won't happen til he decides enough is enough.
You know he'll probably feel so liberated and happy and free once he actually addressed this issue, the underlying causes and had a huge clean out, both metaphorically and literally.
but i'm sure you are way too aware of all that! I bet adam is a real little man now!!!
well we've got molars coming through... four of the sods and it means 3, 4 sometimes 5 wake ups a night and it's killing me as i'm pretty tired with the pregnancy as it is. so dh is having to get up in the middle of the night for one or two cry outs and is not handling it well at all... he hasn't had to do any since he went back to work a year ago! i feel bad but i need to rest as much as he does :(
it's a goregous cool rainy sunday here in darwin! loving it!
And for our experienced mums with older bubs ... yes i'm after MORE advice....
Ash has shown he's going to be a climber and i found him attempting to scale the side of his cot. he's only done it the once and i didn't make a big deal of it, just took him out straight away. But i'm very worried he'll climb out and fall onto the tiles, hurting himself.
anyhoo, he's too little to go into a toddler bed or such as I just can't imagine him staying in bed, instead exploring all the things in his room he shouldn't etc (i'd probably find him asleep in the wardrobe... he loves the sliding doors!). So i'm unsure what my next step should be if he does achieve climbing success in the next few weeks!
hi kelly, madb, murph (where are you??), lise, lenny, red riding hood who i accidentally called Little rrh lol, saph -good luck with work!!! and all the girlies here.
oxo
Sorry Grub but if he keeps up with the climbing he will have to go into a bed. Campbell went into a bed at 15 months, not because he was climbing but because he was waking himslef up from hitting the sides. He was fine, it has taken until he turned four to get out of bed. lol He still stays in his bed in the mornings until we get him up.
Neptune hugs to you luv. We all have to put our children first and then ourselves and making sure Adam is safe is the most important thing in the world.
Getting excited about startign back at work. Cant wait.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
:hug: grub, neptune, all you girls sooo rock and i luff you all for your support and friendships.thank you xx

love to you all and your beautiful babies
Barney Glad you are feeling a little more positive.
Well Xavier has completely weaned himself (bit sad to think that is it and no more feeding babies for me) but to treat myself went and had a huge splurge on new bras. lol
Hi Girls
I'm sure Murph wouldn't mind me mentioning that she has put on Facebook that Jazzy's article is in "That's Life" magazine dated 26th January. I know that Barney was wanting to get a copy...
Well i'm having a very 'woe is me' day today! Finn's 3rd tooth is coming through, it was through the other day but has gone back up again. Unfortunately while it was still down he bit me while I was feeding and with top and bottom teeth it hurt quite a bit! That afternoon I started to get a bit sore and the next day feeding was incredibly painful, so fearing mastitis I went to the GP. She didn't think it was but gave me antibiotics anyway. Two days later no improvement and now a big red line starting at my nipple so back to the GP for more antibiotics and suspected blood poisoning!!! I'm trying to express so I don't lose my supply but even that hurts, so will have to see how I go. Has anyone else had anything like this happen? Did you get through it?!
Anyway, hope you're all having a lovely Sunday afternoon xx
oh lise i can't help you. ash bit me terribly a couple of times and one went a bit nasty with some pus, but it healed over soon enough and I was fine to pump. So I'm really sorry i can't hlep you.
Have you rung 1800 Mum2Mum? the aba helpline??? they are really great for that sort of thing. you don't need to be a member to call them. Otherwise maybe try posting int he feeding thread.
big hugs, hope it gets sorted soon and doesn't mess up your suppply too much.
as for teeth! omg we hate teeth!!! ash has about 5 coming through atm... including molars!!! which i wasn't expectin til later! so he's been pretty unhappy. we find brauer's teething relief helps heaps, and prefer it over the Hyland tablets, which incidentally they are discontinuing.
hope that hleps
tahnks kel, for the info
hi to all the other girls :)
barney- so good to read you are getting help and feeling better and good on you for being so open. You are great!
a big hello to all you other top mummies
Lise this may or may not help but Xavier always started bitting when we needed to drop a feed. For example he has just stopped feeding and I new he was ready to wean himself because he started biting again at each feed. Each time he started biting and I dropped a feed he stopped straight away. Also when he bites take him off put him down and walk away. He will soon learn that if he wants to feed not to bite. This worked really well with Campbell when he was a baby. Xavier didnt like it much either. I cant help with the other stuff, but I hope you feel better soon.
Hi everyone. I've missed you all heaps and only just caught up on my phone. life with jazzy is a full time gig and we have been travelling again and went up to townsville for a bit. just touching base for now, but have sooo much to say. I'll give that rambling grub a run for her money:D if th possum will will give me two minutes to myself. love you all stax :)
Well we must all be super busy with all our bubs, I have to confess I am a little excited.
Drum roll please........
I go back to work on Monday. Hehehehehe
I have to say being a stay at home mum is the hardest job in the world.
We are currently looking for a nanny to watch the kids one day a week. Because Xavier is not coping with Daycare, so he will go to daycare mon and wed and be at home with the nanny on tues with Campbell.
Oh and Xavier is turning one on Sunday. It was fun doing the growth comparisons a while ago so thought I might start it up again.
Xavier Age 1
9.02kg
74.5cm
Oh and to compare my two boys because we all know that we do it.
Campbell Age 1
just under 9kg
80cm
We cannot get over how short Xavier is. lol
Hope you can contribute.
Have a lovely weekend, we have a birthday party and work to get ready for. Super organised mum coming up.
Sorry, been really slack.
Neptune, so sorry to hear about your friend. How awful for you and her family. And so sad that she decided to take her life.
Glad to hear better news for your sister. And I hope you and your husband figure things out - it's going to be a long road to decluttering I think.
Hope you're still doing well Barney.
Work Saph! I still prefer mummying.... :)
DD is doing well. She's quite chubby (compared to DS) and actually sleeps. Even in her cot. Amazing. Not so much at night, but we cn't have everything, hey?
Lise, how is it now? Did you get on to an LC at all? Sometimes they're more helpful than doctors with boob-related problems. Hope it's improving now anyway.
And hi to everyone else.
