BW - Thanks for the advice re teeth - sounds like Jasmine is a lot like Sam. These top one's have just been rotten. Sorry to here about his appointment. Hopefully you will get some more answers soon. I too often think about the issues we went through to get pregnant and how I would hate for Jasmine to have to go through that. I have PCOS and I believe there are some that think that there are some heredetry (Sp?) links, so I am hopeful that she won't get that from me.
Grub - great weight gain! I forgot to say in my last post that Jasmine also used a dummy when she was little and that seemed to help her move the wind. And well done on the sleep - so jealous! Hopefully you don't need a D&C, but if you do - hope it is quick, painless and solves any issues.
Acacia - Firstly well done on the 12 hour sleep! Wow! Sorry to hear about DH's job - hopefully he will get another one that he can move straight into. It is always so stressful when something like this happens, so I hope it all rectifies itself as quickly as possible.

Well we had a slightly better night here last night. Jasmine slept until 4am (from 7pm) then was up and down until we got up at 7am. The last tooth cut through yesterday, so she now has 2 bottom teeth and 4 top teeth (6 in total)... makes her look so grown up! No longer a baby that is for sure. So hopefully we are through the worst of this bunch of teeth and we will get a little break before the next lot pop through. It looks like Jasmine is one of those kids that gets her teeth in clusters rather than one at a time.

geez. A has never slept 12 hrs. We've had a few 11-hour runs, but he rarely gets more than 9 (like, all up). sigh. I know he'll make up for it when he's a teenager.
Yes we have the amber one too. Got it at around 8months and wished we had it sooner. SHe still wears it full time. Never comes off. I used to take it off for washing and sleeping when she was little but not anymore.
Bummer about your DH job Acacia! Dh had similar this month. He has 2 part time jobs and one was a d-head but has just replaced that one with another positon. Not as many hours but at least the stress has gone. Hope the gov job works out. That would be great.

what a thriving bunch of mummies we all are. It's great to see. Unfortunately, though I would love to write a book in here of all the stuff I've been going through, I can only spare a few lines (well a few more than that, but i will only cover a couple of your comments for now).
Grub, you know I love ya so I'll skip the mushy welcome but it's great to see you and I have to comment on your windy issue. Had a few tears myself this week and went to my wonderful community health care nurse and had a great chat today. I'm in and out of doctor and paed and specialist appointments all the time, but it was so nice to just go this tiny little health clinic in the bush (Cow Bay) and get so much peace of mind and common sense advice. Better than any counselling session. Anyway, your dummy solution for wind is what I was recommended today. I have the exact opposite problem to you though cos Jazz is great with the boob, but can't for the life of her work out how to suck a dummy or bottle. I bought one for the audiology appointments. I'm not a fan of dummies but can see they have a place and especially with her deafness, car trips can be a nightmare and I'd love her to comfort on a dummy. I just get in the back with her when DH is driving but on my own, well there have been a few tears. The poor little mite is just lonely and in her own quiet little world. I have flashing lights and toys and things but voice soothes babies so much and we don't have that. Anyway, I was told the dummy for windy babies as when they cry they suck in more air and the sucking helps push it through. Apparently they have to learn how to fart and it doesn't just come naturally. Do you do that tummy float in the bath for Ash? I've only just learnt how to do it without drowning her and it was a gorgeous experience - instant relief and the longest bath ever - she just loved it and so did I.
I have to pull you up on your anatomy lesson girls but it is a common misconception that the dangly bit in the back of your throat is your epiglottis, when it is in fact your uvula. How do I know this and why believe me....well, the damn thing collapsed on me during of course pregnancy and I choked on several occasion (each one less scary than that first time). Yep my soft palate went floppy from all my snoring and the dangly bit flopped down my throat. Complete gross out I know. I did a hell of a lot of googling to work out if I was going to die but as usual common sense prevailed, it seemed natural to me to suck ice and all things cold to shrink the little sucker, but it wasn't a nice experience. My snoring was because my sweet breech baby gave me 7 months of pure hellish indigestion and I own shares in the fruit tingles company now! I had to sleep sitting up with this little darling stuck firmly with her head in my ribs for months on end and the indigestion did not cease until the night of my c-section...ahhh, such sweet relief. End of uvula lesson.

Poor little Jazz in the car. My friend has had a terrible time with both of her kids in the car. I feel for you both! Have you seen the mirrors that clip on to something so that the baby can see your face in the rear vision mirror while facing backwards? maybe that would help. Thanks for the anatomy lesson. I had terrible indigestion too and had to sleep sitting up for ages. Also had prescriptions too. Mine didnt go away instantly though, I took the meds for a week or two afterwards, I guess till all the organs found their way back down to where they should have been.
i was just thinking "where the bladdy hell are you?'' murph lol. and i love your "few lines'' novella there love heehee.
i know this is extremely juvenile BUT when i read uvula i said Vulva haahaaa. interesting imagery there ladies.
thanks for the dummy info there murph. i really didn't want to give the dummy and spent a few days beating myself up as it's not what you are "suppossed'' to do but with words like yours murph and help from the ABA helpline and our community nurse made me realise that dummies were made just for the purpose i'm using it as... a comforter. And so long as i dont fall inot the trap of shoving it in to solve all problems i think we'll be fine. Plus i can hopefully get rid of it in a few months. In fact he's pretty good at spitting it out as soon as his wind problem is solved... but this means i have to sit by his bassinette and do ''dummy patrol'' as he often needs it back within 30 secs and screams/wakes lol.
STILL waiting to hear from the docs regarding that blasted scan. they were supposed to give me the results yesterday but "didn't get to it'' ! effing hell. it's not my regular doc so i'm really peeved. specailly seeing she put me on antibiotics and these have been upsetting ash a bit as well as the wind! so if there is nothing there i would like to know and if there is, i need to organise the little op while my MIL is here so she can help with Ash. So getting my grump on and am going to call this morning.
sazz - we have one of those mirrors - LOVE IT. not that but knows its there, but i can see him. only thing is you have to get used to looking at the cars and not the baby all the time.
