Marcellus hope you get a good night sleep instead. I've given up napping cos DS wakes, and today little bugga slept from 2pm and is still down at 5.30pm! Only 3 dummy replaces early on. Hope he sleeps as good as last night tonight
Just popped back in for a bottle q? Linc is looking for more food, not suposed to till 8 weeks but whateva. When do you go to a bigger bottle? not sure if I should persist with the smaller ones and offer a top up at the end for now. Cos it's not every feed. I'm using glass and putting off buying the big ones $$$$$$ especially since I've only just started using the small ones.
Green: Take Linc's queues, if he wants more then offer it to him. The tin details are only a guideline and Tara was always having bigger bottles than recommended. The tin says she should only now be having 250ml bottles but she has been having 240ml's for around 2 1/2 months, it also says she should be having 4-5 feeds a day but she generally only has 3 sometimes 4, with the 4th being a small bottle only. Trust me Linc will guide you on how much he wants and how freqently as well. Remember that when they are due for a growth spurt he will want to feed more and more often.
it's the nature of a baby to want to feed often. some may decide that three or four feeds a day are ok - but most need to feed much more often. they only have small stomachs, and need to have frequent small meals to allow them to grow properly. i would stick with the smaller bottles and only top up when needed. formula is exxy and you don't want to be wasting it!
Have to agree with BG - you can offer more if he needs it. But we only increased the size of Sam's bottles when he seemed hungry after he'd drained them on a regular basis. There's also been a number of times when we reduced the size of his bottles when he just wasn't interested. Easy to do when your formula is one scoop for 30mL of water!
Well girls sorry I havent been in for a while. Xavier had his six week check and all is fine. We still need to follow up his hips and the clinic nurse said it still feels very loose but we will wait and see what the ultrasound reveals. The docotr was going on about what a strapping boy we have and I quickly informed him that he is our lttle baby. He is doing well for being prem. We have to remember that even though he was big development wise he was still very early. I had my check blah it never ends with the hormones. I am having to use oestrogen cream because I have not healed well down there and that will help. Must go. Hope everyone is doing well.
Thanks for your advice all After having a HUNGREY unsettled day he's been very very sleepy and isn't finishing them anymore. Went out and baught the bigger ones. THEY ARE HUGE but don't think I need them yet.
Saph Did you have a VB or CS? I'm still not AOK down stairs from a VB and a big split. But it's on the mend after some antibiotics. Hope you feel better soon and Xavier (nice name by the way) hips are good.
Well I'm a bit shocked but little man is going to bed awake! I feed, burp, play, he then get's tired and we have a cuddle and sleep. I don't need to rock him to sleep anymore. Just keep going in to re plug (dummy not happy but it works) and usually 2-4 times he's away. Today I just put his mobile on and it did the trick, I even went to check and OUT. this continues. I guess I really love the cuddles but it's not good to need to get them out out before they'll sleep. especially as he gets hevier (back is already out).
Ok he's still not great with poos. What to do. I'm giving sugar water every feed plus coloxyl drops x3 and he's still making a huge fuss and they're not great. Might have to chat with the pead. I tried the prune juice and nothing happened. Starting to miss the bf mustard
DH is on his way home Tuesday can't wait I really really miss him. Left mums a bit early cos I need to be on my own for a while too many hens in the hen house
I must admit I'm a little scared today. I was assuming my little man was going to be mr awake and fight sleep forever and the last couple of days it's been so nice to know what I'm doing. I don't know if this will last but It's nice. I thought when he went throught the 6-8 week mark he's be more on the unsettled side not sleepy. What are you ladies finding with your little ones at this age? Nothing is as it seams

Well this is the first mother's Day I haven't had to turn my face from all the Mother's Day stuff in shops or ignore the ads on TV. Last year I was embarking on my first IVF and too scared to tempt fate and the 12 years before were either too painful because of the TTC and the fact my own mother died 12 years ago. So I am enjoying the change!!!
