Lenny - that's really quite funny about the easter egg! I'm a little cross with my parents for deciding that Sam at 15 months old NEEDED to get a chocolate rabbit like his 7 year old cousin... it's still sitting on the bench untouched.
oh dear! E knows what wrapping is - irrespective of whats in it - helps that her cousins helped her go nuts at Christmas! she got into her egg but no idea how to actually bite on it! oh well - all good!
Cambell was 6kg at 6 months small little buba I think link is close to 6.5 already (need to weigh him) I'm getting muscles Happy Holls Saph enjoy I hope your boys are good for you.
Lenny thanks for making me feel not so alone.
Smithy for not so much sleep but for happy little Miss C.
Well Linc must have known daddy was away cos up at 12.30am then 5am then not happy little man, I pulled him into bed but he wriggled so much It was hardly worth it, I gave in at 6.30 and unwrapped him, then put up with very fussy man till 7 then I let out a big yawn and he burst out giggling and we got up I just wanted a little more sleep.
Oh his feet were out of the basinett in hamock lat night so I chocked up his bed and he's in it now, he's woken three times not very happy so I think I'll pop the basinett in the cot for a few nights so he slowly get's used to his new bed and I don't have to worry about him falling out.
ahhhhhh Linc wont burp and has been farting non stop for two hours, every time I put him down he looses his dummy and screams. OMG, I totally forgot how awful this is.
oh lenny that's cute about the egg. Our boy will get easter choc.. but one egg and a game.. my mum and dad alwasy got their 3 kids one egg and a boardgame to share... as a result we are all complete nerds but love a good game. they still get pulled out when we are altogther and it was a lovely family thing to do I can't wait til ash is old enough to beat him in monopoly lol and i'm sssoooo using my trivial pursuit cards from the 1994 junior version against him! he won't have a clue mmmwwwaaahhhhh.
oh saph. ash is the same when i try to get him to lie down with me! it's just not worth it and neither of us get any rest! oh that's exciting the move to the cot! and wow campbell was tiny! but from the pics i've seen, i don't think you'd know now hey.
hi to all the girls having a good weekend? do anything spesh?
well, we had an absolute doozy yesterday. We went camping. yay. got there about 1pm, set up, went for a walk along the most amazing beach with sanddunes, back to camp got ash ready for bed he laid in his bassinette quietly while we cooked dinner, ate dinner...
then the camping monster came out! bascially there was too much going on for him to really have a proper sleep since he got there so we was overtired and just screamed and screamed and screamed (you knwo that scream!).
Only boobie and mummy could get him to sleep but if i dared put him down! anyhoo after hours of this and disrupting the entire camp site we had to pack up!!! so at 9pm last night DH packed up camp while i sat in the ute and fed/cuddled ash to sleep!!! got home at 11pm and fell into bed exhausted at 11.30pm (after another 30 mins of settling bubbee). Now we've got to unpack our hasty packing and repack all our camp stuff!!! OMG. DH also got a nasty burn on his finger and we burnt our roast tatties... been declared THE WORST camping experience ever!!!
lucky we were so tired on the way home we were laughing about it. So i'm even more dreading our trip to tassie next week. Apparently i was a fussy baby who ONLY liked to sleep in my own bed... i'm a bit scared we have a carbon copy on our hands!!!
anyway on the positive side, he slept til 4.30am and then to 9am so i got a good kip in! but what a dramatic way to get it! lol.
but we won't be defeated. we will go again, but somewhere there aren't other people so if he's screaming etc it won't be so stressful.
oh grub you poor things, what a bumma about the camping trip hun
poor bubba doesnt like camping yet lol..and poor dh finger ouchy.
better luck next time yeh..
Grub, you poor thing, what a nightmare, bet the other campers were 'happy campers' after you lot left Adam had a hissy fit like that once when we were out and we had to abandon plans because he was just a mess. He was so overtired I could hardly get him to stop crying enough to get his milk in. Take a deep breath and try again soon!
Hi to Lenny, BW, Smithy, Murph, Janie, Kelly, BG and anyone I have missed. Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.
Well, I am a wee bit seedy today. My DH's 40th lunch and we then went out in town last night while Nanna looked after Adam. He was sound asleep and didn't even know we were gone. Got a bit excited to be out and about and out of practice so not feeling wonderful today. Twas fun though, but it will be an early night tonight for me and not getting any study done.
oh neptune you go girl had a few drinkies did we hun pmsl..so no bacon and eggs today hun omg i just cant drink me a grog are not friends lol..but glad you had a good time hun sometimes its just nice to get out on your own and let your hair down .hope your feeling better soon .
and grubby im not being cruel or anything but im still laughing at your camping trip
Grub oh hun that is too bad, I know without my majic sling Linc would have been the same first time on KI with all the people, it was nice to hide him away. But I'm sure he'll be better next time.
good work on the party Neptune mum's gota let her hair down too. Think I'm a ways off Nana watching Linc over night, maybe next year for my 30th.
Hi to all,
Can't believe the weekend is almost ova. Pulled link into bed this morning with DH and I and he is such a little wriggler, I can't wait for him to enjoy spending an hour in the big bed, not yet.
Wind didn't stop till 10pm then he slept till 3am then up hourly after that, but today we decided to have a home day and it's going good, my mum cooked a roast (without telling us) and baught it over so no cooking tea either, Love my mum.
Giving the wind drops a good go today and we'll see how little man is tonight, I must admit I'm a slacker with those things and the loud burps he makes followed by usually a sick up make me think it's not natural. Who knows.
Oh dear Grub. But you do have a knack for telling an entertaining story
Well, the other day I found some gluten free burrito wraps and thought aces, we'll try something different for dinner. Very yummy. Unfortunately DH was up on the toilet half the night and in the morning when I got up he says "Sweetie, you know those wraps... Those wraps full of wheat..."
"What?! No. They said they're gluten free" Well I checked and they were regular wheat ones. Not the ones I was looking at in the shop. Not the ones I had in my hand.
Now I'm not sure if I halucinated the whole thing, or if I just put those gluten free ones down and picked up some wheat ones...which would be worse?
DS is stil a chocolate-free zone, but he sure is interested in those shiny, shiny wrappers. He's taken to pulling things off shelves in shops, but we tell him he has to put it back because it belongs to the shop.
Grub, I feel so bad for laughing at your camping trip story, but you wrote it so well it's hard not to laugh! And I think that was one of those times where if you don't laugh, you cry. I'm just not brave enough to do the camping thing with Sam. When he was small my arthritis was too ferocious to contemplate it, and now that the arthritis has settled a bit he's too mobile and into everything but doesn't quite have the understanding to keep himself safe. We have been away, though - staying at my parents' place and he copes ok away from home if we can keep enough of the usual home routines going.
Green, I hope your little man is more comfortable today. Wind can be so hard on them at times! We used infacol with Sam - I hated the fact that I had to give him something, but he was just so uncomfortable without it, and the puking was always worse if we left it out of his bottles. The thing with infacol is that it allows all the gas bubbles to come together and form one big bubble which is easier to get up - the more he got up as burps, the less gas there was to give him trouble at the other end. I hope the wind drops are helping - which ones do you use?
Neptune, I hope you feel more yourself soon. I think you are amazingly brave leaving Adam over night - we still have not done this with Sam. We still have not left Sam with someone for a few hours while we go to have dinner or see a movie or something like that. Doesn't help that there's no family close who could do it, either. But we manage ok. We didn't have much of a social life before Sam to notice that we are missing out on anything, anyway.
Marcellus, I have done similar things in the shops before - it's an easy mistake to make. I hope DH is feeling well again soon - and I have definitely seen gluten-free wraps, so I know you weren't hallucinating that part of things!
Sam is decidedly feral today, and I've got a big attack of the grumps - all because of church and I just don't know how to fix the problem! Sam still has two day sleeps most days, but is at the age where he generally won't go to sleep when we aren't at home. Church is right in the middle of when he usually sleeps - so it's a huge issue at times. Also, he likes to get down and run around, and doesn't understand that there's times to be quiet and still and that we have to stay in the chairs or his pram. I generally have to take him into the creche - but because Fridays are his daycare day he's still clingy with my on Sundays so I can't leave him in there and go out to church. There's an audio and video feed into the creche, but the quality is crappy and you really can't hear much of anything over the noise of little boys playing. It's getting to be a big issue for me as it's always me that misses church - DH is the sound guy and needs to be on the desk so can't take care of Sam. I just don't know what to do! Sam slept for about an hour after church this morning and refused to have another sleep despite being tired. I was feeling ill and sleeping/resting so DH took him back to church to let me have a break. Evening services aren't as bad (as I can keep Sam quiet in his pram by feeding him dinner!) but I don't often get to go as Sam usually sleeps until just after the service has started or, as I suspect will happen today, is just too tired to cope with staying out!
I don't know that anyone can fix the problem, but I just needed to have a massive grumble and get it off my chest!
BW - to you. I don't have any advice but hope that you come to a compromise soon. Whinge away, that's what we are here for.
By the way, I couldn't leave Adam overnight either, Nanna stayed at our house so he really had no idea that we were gone. Once he's asleep, he rarely wakes up. We got home at 1am, and he woke at 430am grrrrrrr so the reason I feel so awful today is too little sleep mixed with a headache!
Just ordered pizza and eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Grub Maaaate! I am LMAO Do the words, 4,500km and 8 nights camping in a tent on the roof of my car sound familiar? Ohhh, I so sympathise...NOT
Thanks for the chuckle Sweet!
I love your dorky family Easter tradition btw. I'll be sure to keep that one away from Jazz as I have seen your mother of all Scrabble sets and I kinda guessed you were a games nerd (as well as a punctuation pedant)! The tradition I started this year was even more dorky, but hey, that's what tradition is all about. DH and I gave each other a nice tea cup each and a small amount of chockies. We love tea sets and Jazz even has her first (an antique breaky set that is so cute).
As for us... Jazz is grazing my boobs with her quick sneaky chomps with the shiny new choppers. It's not funny but I'm sure you will all laugh. She's off her tucker so I can't with hold. She still won't take bottles so i am thinking of spoon feeding her expressed milk for a while. Oh what fun we have. On the plus side, I have my lovely burnt toffee poos back and no solids.
Yayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just got good news from centre link and they awarded us 5,500 bucks as a one off payment to help with costs. Most people i have heard of got two grand or nothing, out of a possible ten...so I'm stoked. We really needed it
