Very long post alert! There have been over 20 of us posting in the past 2 pages alone so I wanted to do a quick catch up with all of you. Well I'm on uni holidays and don't work til nights so I have the luxury. Spose I could always do housework....:nahnah:

MHB[/B]- I was rapt to hear you don't have GD but then you always have something you poor bugger. I couldn't imagine the experience of spewing let alone nearly choking in it. I have a phobia of spewing, even when drinking. the biggest bender when younger, hungover etc, I never allowed it and did everything to avoid it. Luckily, I seem to be able to hold it back. that's not a comfort to you is it. sorry:redface:
TwoMums- hope your little Pipette is not causing Kim any problems. Great to hear the heartbeat is ticking away nicely.
MissMagpie- You're nearly 20 weeks and I think KellyD said that's when your bub is officially recognised as a baby. I missed my milestone but I'll think of yours.
Saph204- Enjoy your early days. Hope the diarrhoea settles for you and your are blessed with no MS. I was the opposite, stuck and had MS but no chuckies, just a few times on the hands and knees.
KellyD- you're still a couple of weeks ahead of me but I feel like I'm catching up, especially today as I felt Jasmine's first kicks....don't care what happens from here, but those first sensations of lying in bed and sharing it with DH were soooo exciting :leap:
Azzrenae- nearly 20 weeks so you also have your important milestone approaching for your two little ones. BTW, your ticker is so cute, always makes me smile and think of Jen's Beans too.
[/COLOR]Kahlan- hope you haven't gone into labour reading this:doh: Almost there or have we missed it?. How exciting.
Neptune- no sore feet for me yet, but I'm not retaining water, are you or is it a circulation issue? Hope your back is feeling better.
BDT- have you stopped pinching yourself yet? I still have my POAS (First Response). I wonder how long they last. I did 4!! When you've never seen two lines in your life, you kinda want to get your money's worth hey?
Greenslw- you are a calm grasshopper! Hope you can work a way through with your SS. Maybe he's not used to being held responsible. i'm sure you'll take the reigns. Good luck with your work plans too, but don't forget this baby and your health are your first priority for the moment.
Grub- how is your nesting going? It must be sooo exciting. wish I could do it, have started in a small way planning form 0-6 months because I now know we are here for at least another 6 months. finally I know where I will be having Jasmine at least.
JenC- so funny hearing about the antics of your Beanie Boys! Glad your pelvis is on the mend.
Possums- sorry to hear May wasn't your month, but hope the rebalancing sets your system in motion for your next attempt. hang in there.
Farmgirl- you're on single figures, 6 or 7 weeks, hope it's all going well for you.
[B]Mels77- glad tohear you get comfort from your little boy's movements. Hope it's like that for me too. Not looking forward to the 100 kicks a day in awkward places though!

To all the pop-ins, lurkers and other posters, I'm no moderator but I think the pop-in support is nice especially for the new girls. it can be lonely when you are finding your feet in the new crowd. Back again...it's not a preg post just a little anecdote I thought of after reading Smithy's last post...The difference between the gen X, gen y thing was never so apparent as a few years back when my environmental trainees used to text me "lol" in their messages all the time. I thought it stood for "lots of love" and I thought it was so sweet that they ended most of their texts that way! What a dork hey? well they were like daughters to me so it wasn't a huge stretch, instead they said things like "you're da bombiest" (and that's the highest compliment). Oh dear, how to make a girl feel old!:doh:

Hello Ladies,
I just wanted to stop by and say Hi and to let you know that I still think of you all often. I don't get a lot of time to stop by Belly Belly at the moment, Asher is lovely and we're having such a great time together. Let me tell you...it will melt your heart the day they lock their tiny eyes on you and fix you with a stare that seems to look right into your soul and then they smile at you for the first time because they know who you are. It still brings tears of joy to my eyes just thinking about it. I'm so happy that you all have that to look forward to.

saph good numbers! see told you the time would fly. when you count in weeks and yoru weeks are busy, they just sort of overtake you... plus i find it helpful to say "oh i'm nearly 17 weeks'' when i'm 16 weeks and a few days cos i figure i may as well round up and its only a couple of days! lol.
smithy i really really feel for you. i wasn't as bad as bg and MHB but 3 full on months of morning sickness just wears you down after awhile. it's a crazy doube-edged sword - if you feel sick that means lots of hormones from bub; if you don't feel sick you worry something has gone wrong. i think someone mentioned the morning sick vitamins - i found them wonderful but here's a tip DON'T whatever you do think "oh, i haven't been as nauseou/unwell today, maybe it's gone and i'll stop those ginger pills". WRONG!! you just feel 10 times worse than you normally do the next day. heehee
hi kaydee - how are you feeling this week? that's excellent news about your scan. grow babies!
hi murph - what a super effort in listing everyone! i don't have the stamina and apologies for anyone i've missed. I"ve just skimmed the surface mainly cos i'm dead tired and about to have a rest.
Not much to report on this end... yep we have got all our nursery items!! i know it's early but it's sale time. the nursery is not fully set up but the cot, drawers, bookshelf are in place :)
no shopping til July 26 - that's when we find out if its pink or blue! :) have really truly popped as well. normal shirts just don't cut it anymore so am in maternity clothes completely now from here.
must go sleep...

Hi girls. sorry for the selfish post but I am in a little bit of a pickle.
I am now over 39 weeks and still no sign of bub wanting out. Went and saw my OB today who said that because my baby was conceived through IVF he is keen for me to go into induction next Monday (birth on Tuesday which is my EDD). As it is IVF the EDD is a given and he doesn't want to risk the baby having trouble in my belly. However, he is happy to wait a week if that is what I want. I am so confused I don't know what to think. Any advice from you lovely ladies would be appreciated.

kalan..oh hunny imo i would go for induction but thats just me no real reason lol just maybe a bit sooner to meeting bubs...plus ive been induced twice before with jaymee and courtney and i didnt find much difference except the contractions come on a bit faster like they didnt build up gradually they were sort of strong and full on from the very start...( i was induced by drip as my waters had already broken with no contactions) i just want to say woot woot your bubs nearly here either way how exciting and best of luk hunny

Kahlan - from personal experience I would avoid induction. I was one of these lucky people who went into labour natuurally with DS, however he was in distress so they wanted to spead things up so they broke my waters and gave me the drugs it went from nice easy contractions that I could move and talk through to contractions that come on top of each other and was the worst pain I have ever experienced. When you dont get that nice slow build up to the final event your body does not produce the adrenaline to help you through the pain. For us it was neccessary but the pain instantly increased. But this is only my experience.

I have officially become a lurker with not having posted in forever ! I love reading where everyone is at but with so much to read I never find the time to post but wanted to respond to Kahlan as I am in a similar situation.
Kahlan - I'm 39.5 weeks and bub is 'high and mobile' and not at all close to being engaged so I am in a similar situation to you. My due date is Sunday July 5th and my OB is willing to let me go to 7-10 days over before either inducing or electing for a CS. I asked about the risks etc and he explained that full term is technically 42 weeks but with IVF the EDD is so much more exact. He is checking the amniotic fluid each week and feels that as long as there is no distress and enough fluid it is okay to take the extra time to see if the bub engages and labour starts naturally.
There are some good articles on Belly Belly about % of babies not engaged at start of labour and % outcome of natural v induction v csection and full term etc. I can't remember how I found them, I think I googled baby engaging and one of the links took me to BB.
I think that like so many things with IVF and the choices that we have had to make (how many stim cylces to do, how many embies to transfer etc) it really is a personal choice and one that your body and heart will tell you is the right decision.
If I were you, I'd ask your OB lots of questions to make sure you have the facts from his perspective as to why you should not wait for labour to start on it's own.

Kahlan, Isn't it your choice? I'd want to know in detail the pros and cons not "because IVF" that's not enough for me. Can you have a healthy debate with you ob?

Speaking of ob appointments, I'm :wall: today, I had so much paperwork from my ob and do you think I can find it? no. I think there is a pg elf in my house stealing things from me. After a complete melt down I found the referal letter but no paperwork. I'm going mad.
Spent the day trying to pay attention to a workshop, long interesting but long, then trying not to be sick at lunch or on the way home. MS is up a notch again.
SS has calmed down and things are peacful on the home front again for now. It's holidays at the end of the week and he needs to do a bit of work prior to going to his mums I said I'd drive him after all work is done, I can feel another fight coming on.
I'm already feeling overwelmed by the thought of my work load already but I have said yes to the extra teaching for 9 weeks only. The friday class is only 3 hours and an easy subject, it's just the 7 hour saturday class that is going to be a bit of work, lots of interactive workshops I reccon, let them do the work.......

Hi Kahlan,
I was induced with DD because she was a clomid baby. The hospital's protocol was to induce at full term for any assisted pregnancies. To be honest, I was ready to meet her anyway and was glad to have the "set date" so I could go to hospital calmly. I was induced with gel and labour pains started gradually, building up over 4 hours. It was trouble free.
Personally, I tend to listen to my ob's recommendations - he deals with this kind of thing all day, every day. The baby's full term. Induction is just going to help get the ball rolling of labour.
At the end of the day, it is yours and DH's decision. You need to be comfortable with whatever you decide.

I rang the hospital and spoke to the midwife yesterday, rang my sister in law (who is a GP) and spoke to her as well. They were of some help in providing me with information but at the end, I will have to make the decision myself. :wall::wall:
I guess my biggest fear is stillbirth and I really want my bub to be safe... she will definitely be safer if she is delievered and in my arms right now! :doh:. My OB probably senses my anxiety throughout this pregnancy and that is probably the reason why he suggested it (and probably it is more convenient for him if it was planned during his hospital round anyway).
Thanks Kaydee for sharing your experience, it is good to hear positive experiences with induction.
LNB - yes you are even closer to EDD than me. Here is to us both and hopefully we will go into labour in the next couple of days!
After careful consideration, I think I will wait for another week if required. And I will request for monitoring. Hopefully I won't have to worry and bub would come out soon.

I bet you even feel like words don't do the feelings justice but from these tears, I'd say you managed okay. NicS you are feeling the same too hey, as I'm sure all the new Mums are. I just can't wait to meet my little girl and know that feeling.

AFM: Back from Perth after a week, couldn't do much due to the horrible weather. So just spent my time vegging out. Although my sister and I did go on a shopping spree... We found a Target Store which had kids clothes reduced by 30% and had a seperate clearance rack with further discounts. We went made and got everything pink from sizes 00 to 1, after we got home I check out home much we saved all up and the original cost would have been almost $400 but we only paid $180. See this is an advantage of knowing your colour. So I'm now waiting patiently for the winter sales to hit again so I can stock up on clothes for next winter at a discount.
Apart from that, baby is kicking away nicely. She does have days where she is a bit quieter and other where she kicks so hard my stomach jumps, but so long as she is moving that's all that matters. Hopefully she will decide to do some big kicks when her daddy is home so that he can feel her move.
Anyway, better get on with the housework after being away for a week. DH was so good and keep the house tidy, but it is not the same as when I do it... Although maybe this is the time for me to start no being such a control freak and let things happen.

Hi all, sorry for the selfish post feeling a little under the weather and out of sorts. All the bloods are taking their tole (or should I say the early mornings and the stress). I an extremely worried that next weeks scan is not going to be good. I have always wondered if this is an eptopic. My HCG today was only 4570, I asked if this is ok and she said its fine as long as it is doubling. Hello 2680 to 4570 over three days is not doubling. Has anyone had crappy numbers like this and made it through? If it is an eptopic would it be painful? Any help would be great. What doesnt make any sence to me is that I have had no spotting, with DS i had some spotting. ARRRGH one more day at work and then I am on holidays I wish I could just sleep through the next week.

i am pretty sure after 6 wks your levels start going all over the place and not doing what there suppose to like doubling and stuff, thats why they usually do scans rather then bts after 6wks
if your 6 wks 3 days you should be able to see a sac and a heart beat hopefully. so if i were you just to give you piece of mind i would ask to bring the scan forward and have it sooner

I agree with M2C. My numbers were in your kind of ball park and I got to the same point in thinking that I had nothing going on. I was desperate to get an early scan and I think it was 5 or 6 weeks when I got my first scan and saw the little heart. It was an amazing experience and one I wouldn't want to put off and wait for. The doubling is only reliable to a certain point and even then, it's not a daily double, it's more like every day and a half when it's happening.
I think it is routine for girls to have the scans done earlier. We are the ones freaking out. Waiting for a calendar date is fine in theory, but murder in practice.
I don't know anything about ectopic but I hope you get some answers and an early scan to put your mind at ease.:hug: Chin up, we'll be thinking of you.
Thanks guys as you can imagine I had a crappy nights sleep and feel almost hungover this morning. I understand all the things that happen but it doesnt stop me worrying. My clinic does all its scans at 7 weeks. I am sure I can keep myself busy until next wednesday. Because I am on holidays DS is still at daycare on Wed so I wont bring the scan forward. If it goes as I expect he doesnt need to be there. Had lost of pain last night, sharp pain in my ovaries as "I stand up or rolling over in bed might ring clinic about this today as it is starting to get worse.

Oh Saph :hug: Im sorry I cant shed any light on your situation. They didnt give me another blood test after my BFP. I only had a scan at just over 6 weeks.

Im hoping i can join in your thread...we just found out we are pregnant :leap: and are both quite excited. I dont want to get too over the moon until our 8wk scan when we can actually hear the heartbeat. I am soooooo nervous as i have never been pregnant before and it feels like its taken us so long to get to this point.It would be nice to share the journey with some of you women who obviously have been in my position and are now on the pregnancy journey too. saph - mine didnt double, i was 15 000 one week then the next it was only 36 000 therefore it had only doubled in a week with a little extra and this was at approx 6 to 7 weeks. after 6 weeks the rate changes and can take up to 5 days to double, i had this done in the ED due to spotting and vomiting so bad and the ob told me this, so dont stress!

I have been MIA, but I have just finished my psychology assignment and what a relief!!!!!! I feel like I can concentrate on other more important 'baby' stuff!
My back is still a problem, but I have tried everything and have decided that I just have to put up with it until bubs arrives. I have taken the view that it is a temporary pain, and the broken sleep is just practice!!!
Question: Does anyone know if it is safe to get a spray tan when PG? I am going to a wedding next week and thought maybe I would look better, but I am worried that it may be a no-no?

Neptune, I haven't had a spray tan done, but I did ask my sister who has studied beauty therapy and they get taught that there has been no evidence of harmful effects of spray tans on pregnant women, as it is only the top layer of skin that is affected. However, there is a real dearth of research in this area, so there's also no definitive research that says it is harmless. Up to the customer is what they get taught. I'm sorry if that doesn't help.....

ATM: I'm home alone and watching a sad movie, trying to sell my car and thinking about my first OB app tomorrow. DP is having the day off too which I am so happy about. We're also taking our nephew (3) to see Ice Age before he goes home to Canada next week :cry: I wll miss them so much.

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes. I am plodding along slowly trying to keep busy. Have more bloods tomorrow and scan on wednesday. Trying to stay positive but preparing myself for the worse. Spoke to clinic nurse yesterday as I have been having sharp stabbing ovary pain as I move on both sides she said as this is my second pregnancy I will feel everything sooner and more intense. She said it was my ligerments and uterus stretching. They are not saying anything about my low numbers so maybe I am just one of these people who is on the low side of normal. Just have to wait and see. Well best be off, we are toilet training DS today so should go and put him on the toilet. Yay.

well I'm a clutz! I wrote a reply with welcomes and catch ups then had a brain fart and closed the window and lost it. You know how it is, then you don't want to repeat it all again. So more persies later, you'll just have to hear my exciting news all about me now:D
I just bought my pram...yay!!! :dance:thought I'd never do it, nearly went to the dark side of ridiculously expensive Bugaboo, god what was that all about (talk about champagne tastes on beer budget:doh:) Nah, I never could have justified that. what I got is exxy enough but I'm really sure it will be a worthy investment. So I bought the Steelcraft Strider Deluxe through Babyzone direct (thanks Grub and BG for your advice), I saved $100 and even adding postage up here was cheaper than buying it anywhere else. Bargain!
this has been keeping me up at nights, I come home after my shift ends at midnight and I can't sleep for thinking of my Kingfisher blue pram and surfing around the net for product reviews etc...ohhhh, that's sad right??? Still, no turning back now. The size doesn't bother me, my main concern was durability for rough terrain with my bumpy dirt roads all around me. The other nice thing is that I can get family to pitch in with any of the added extras if we want the car capsule attachment or basinette etc, or just be happy without. Can't wait for delivery!!!
P.S Five and a half months pregnant today and that seems to be the turning point that has everyone shocked when you say it, even ourselves. Nobody knows I'm preggas til I tell them, despite wearing fitted tops with these boobs that sure aint mine any other time and trying to emphasise the belly. I just get the comment "oh you can't even tell"...urggh, I'm trying to be out and proud, Im not just eating too many pies! I'm quite a medium build 70kg and 171cm (blonde, gorgeous and like long walks on the beach...;) but apparently it's all lost on me so far. Oh well, be careful what I wish for hey?
Murph you are a nutter but i'd date you! lol. you sound very similar build to me actually but maybe bubs is hiding towards your back more than your front. i met a lady 2 week ago who only had 8 weeks to go and i was nearly bigger than her! sure you'll pop before you know it.

sorry neptune, can't help with the spray tan thing, but i wouldn't imagine it'd be a huge issue. I really hope you can find something to relieve your pain. have you tried stretching useing a fit ball?

greenslw - good luck with your scan too! i just love love love seeing my bubs! can't wait til our 20 week scan as our last one was at 12 weeks and i can't imagine how much bub has grown (although i've grown an awful lot lol).

afm went to a pregnancy pilates/yoga class yesterday mrning and loved it. some great stretches, good gentle strenghth work and some techniques to help in labour. it's pretty exxy but i'll go a few more times and then try to use what i learn here at home.

Murph thanks for the babyzone direct website had a look but for me the postage is pretty exxy. I am after a new pram. I have a fantastic bertini shuttle but it wont take a toddler seat so now i have to get a whole new pram just to put a toddler seat on which he probably wont sit in anyway. At least this and a new nappy bag is all I need to get. Advice on the nappy bag shop around til you find one that is perfect I went through three in the first 12 months until I didnt need it anymore still didnt find one that I liked.
Getting a little ahead of myself here. But anyone in Perth I am about to sell a Bertini shuttle pram.LOL
Hope all is well, have bloods in the morning with a doctors appointment straight after to get referral for OB. Seems silly doesnt it need referral for fertility clinic now need to go back to GP to get a referral for OB who also works with the fertility clinic. Go Figure just lining everyones pockets.
just thought id announce im 30 weeks today! yay! i was soooo over the 20's!!! have a midwife appointment tomorrow to discuss my birthplan then off to see the aneasthetist next tuesday for an appointment to get things all sorted and consent in case a c section is needed. my hospital does this i dont know about everywhere else, saves time signing consent if your in an emergency i guess.
im sooo over REFLUX!!! its sooo bad especially at night, all you 1st trimesters have soooo much to look foward too! and when i drive bubs presses soooo hard on my sternum and ribs i can barely breathe! BUT its sooooo worth it!!! i cant wait! and im FINALLY looking pregnant YAY!!!!
