Miss Magpie, I like the idea of stickers anyway. I own my house but every time I think of paint or freazes I can't decide, stickers I could change THANK YOU
Yay neptune congratulations on a big milestone.
Frosty's mum glad all went well with the scan.
Thanks Murph glad you're feeling brighter too. DP always realises he's a goose just wish he'd do it prior to opening his yap! but maybe that's expecting way too much.
Had to lie on my side for the first time at the massage theripists. Was not too bad, smiled through it even though I was "extremly tight" My body is really changing. She referred me to yoga too, which is on Thursday Mornings 9.30 me thinks being the boss I can start late thursdays from now on The class is with pg women and mums and babies so it should be a nice way to keep moving post baby It's 50$ for 5 sessions which is ok, that's a cuppa and cake really and I shouldn't be eating that anyways.
Booked my weekend off can't wait to go bush and relax, have a fire and catch up with some mates I haven't seen in months, oh and let them know I'm up the duff. They will spin out as DP had a vasectomy and proudly stated not so long ago "never" to a few of our friends, (glad I knew different or there may have been violence) but it all worked out and the shock will be so funny.
Hello everyone, hope you have a relaxing weekend planned.
just thought I'd throw a bit of a list together so we don't all have to back track so far to see our running tally at the moment in terms of our milestones. For anyone not familiar though, all estimated due dates are on the first page of the thread (sorry to repeat myself).
It's not a complete list but if you are posting regularly, it's just a bit of fun to see where you and the other girls in here are up to today. And it's my way of cheating so I can mention you all in one post

Sammiejam, Babydreams, Wavegirl, BOC, 31Becc - I don't have tickers with your dates yet but understand you are probably waiting for scans to make it all real. Hope you are all doing well and enjoying these exciting early days.
I've missed anyone who we haven't heard from in a while and no offence intended...
AFM as per my last post, I've been looking into the pointy end of the birth procedure, reading all the bits I wouldn't read before but now can't really avoid. I have my heart set on home birth but it's too isolated where I live, with no guarantee of medical back up and although DH could be convinced if I argued the point enough, we just can't really risk it. I have a river that I have to cross by ferry and the ferry stops at midnight. the next town doesnt' have maternity hospital so it's hope for a chopper ride to Cairns or maybe get an ambulance if it's not after midnight and then it's 2 hours int he ambulance. I was a bit bummed with the reality that I don't have that option of home birth but safe is the only real option isn't it?
Have a great day and hope you are not too scared by your position in the pack
Been lurking a little bit, biding my time. Hope everyone is doing well.
Murph what a fabulous idea! Good to see where everyone is at on the scale. I'm now at 5 weeks and 2 days, according to this funky little iPregnancy application I have on my iPhone (it's great, gives you all sorts of stats, info & pics and records your appointments and important numbers like OB, hospital etc)
All has been good here, some slight nausea earlier this week but this morning was a few times. DH was hilarious, not quite knowing what to do so he settled for standing as far as he could away but still within reach enough to lightly pat my shoulder with the strangest look on his face. It totally cracked me up! He's also quite amused by my massive appetite at the moment.
To all you 36+ weekers, thinking of you all and wishing you for safe and healthy deliveries!
Murph, defintely agree you should play it safe, at least for this one. I was really wanting a waterbirth but the hospital that runs the birthing centre doesn't actually have a maternity ward and if anything goes wrong you're driven 30mins away to the next hospital so I think I'll just & bear it this time around.
To everyone else, sending lots of to you all and hope you're enjoying biding your time.
Murph: You are such a star keeping everyones details up to date. Such a big job, but you are doing it so well.
Just wanted to pop in to tell all that we had our first Ante Natal Class today. We had the option to choose the weekly classes for 1 hour over 6 weeks or go for the 2 weekend sessions of 4 hours at a time. We opted for the weekend classes and had our first 4 hr class today and our final one next week. Seemed like a good idea when we booked in but it has taken it out of me today.
Today's class was all about labour, birth and pan relief along with a visit to the birth suite. After doing the class today it hasn't changed my mind about the elective c/s I have been discussing with my doctor since I was 10 weeks (due to bladder problems). I was a bit concerned when they discussed that you can get bladder damage during a natural birth, so think I will still proceed with the c/s as planned.
Don't want to frighten you all, but they told us something that freaked me out....... Forceps (horrid looking things)... We were advised that if forceps are needed then you will require an episiotemy (sp??) but that at our hospital this is generally done in a theatre situation as a c/s might be required. I had to clarify "so you will get stitches down there as well as c/s stitches", I'm sorry but all I expect is possibly 1 or the other, not both. The midwife advised that generally "no" this does not happen as the OB will make the decision which way to proceed to get the baby out before doing either, well that's a relief can you imagine having to have stitches in both places......ouchy......
Next week we discuss and watch the c/s video and learn about feeding, settling and all the things after the baby is born which I am hoping will be very informative as this is all the info I am waiting for. OB appt on Wednesday so might start talking to him about booking delivery dates, so might only be 9 more weeks until bubs arrives which at the moment would be heaven as she is moving so much it is getting very uncomfortable. At class today she was really unsettled and even decided to stick her foot out, which DH & I both could feel.... Cheeky monkey that she is...
Hope you all have a restful weekend and looking forward to hearing about Kaydee's twinnies soon...
Kelly - i enjoyed your summary of the antenatal class. I'll be expecting another one next week I won't be able to go to mine now that I'm on bedrest and i have NO idea about soothing, sleeping, nappies, or bathing. argh!
Grub - glad you're feeling better lovely. Make sure you really are better before you go back to work. You'd hate to go backwards.
Thanks Murph for the update - you're such a star.
Hello to everyone else! Hope you're all going well.
I'm home now and have taken to my bed. I feel like an 18th century consumptive lady! But I'll survive.
oh jen, so glad you are home. now you stay in that bed and make DH do all the work/cooking/cleaning etc. take care of yourself
that's sad you can't do your antenatal classes... why not hit youtube or the net for videos tho. there'll be stuff on there if you search 'settling baby' etc. perhaps the hospy can send you whatever fact sheets/paper work they have. it might help pass the time too.
DH and i got online for videos in how to fold terry flat nappies... we spent about an hour the other day on the floor of the nursery figuring out all the different folds lol. it was lovely and DH was right into it... too sweet.
we do our antenatal classes from the first wed in sept for four weeks. we went for the four, three hour classes during the week rather than the two full days on the weekend cos i didn't think i would make a full day. in saying that 3 hrs at night will pretty much exhaust me and means we won't be home till about 10pm eeeekkk my bedtime is 8pm
kelly d - i'd love to hear more also from how your classes go.
oh dear, it's all starting to feel a bit real now isn't it lol
just off to do a run in the boat with DH, it's my first time outside the house since July 27 (not counting 2 trips to the docs and back). Now, just need to figure out how to get a pregnant lady into a tinnie lol... oxox
