Kelly - i enjoyed your summary of the antenatal class. I'll be expecting another one next week I won't be able to go to mine now that I'm on bedrest and i have NO idea about soothing, sleeping, nappies, or bathing. argh!
Grub - glad you're feeling better lovely. Make sure you really are better before you go back to work. You'd hate to go backwards.
Thanks Murph for the update - you're such a star.
Hello to everyone else! Hope you're all going well.
I'm home now and have taken to my bed. I feel like an 18th century consumptive lady! But I'll survive.
oh jen, so glad you are home. now you stay in that bed and make DH do all the work/cooking/cleaning etc. take care of yourself
that's sad you can't do your antenatal classes... why not hit youtube or the net for videos tho. there'll be stuff on there if you search 'settling baby' etc. perhaps the hospy can send you whatever fact sheets/paper work they have. it might help pass the time too.
DH and i got online for videos in how to fold terry flat nappies... we spent about an hour the other day on the floor of the nursery figuring out all the different folds lol. it was lovely and DH was right into it... too sweet.
we do our antenatal classes from the first wed in sept for four weeks. we went for the four, three hour classes during the week rather than the two full days on the weekend cos i didn't think i would make a full day. in saying that 3 hrs at night will pretty much exhaust me and means we won't be home till about 10pm eeeekkk my bedtime is 8pm
kelly d - i'd love to hear more also from how your classes go.
oh dear, it's all starting to feel a bit real now isn't it lol
just off to do a run in the boat with DH, it's my first time outside the house since July 27 (not counting 2 trips to the docs and back). Now, just need to figure out how to get a pregnant lady into a tinnie lol... oxox
Murph - thanks so much for updating the list. I am a bit shell shocked that I am fourth on the list. WTF????? How did that happen? Best get moving on packing a bag for the hospital.
Jen - So happy you are home. Stay safe, look after those little boys.
Grub - remember balance is the key (getting into the tinnie) and you are not the same weight as before.
I am finding I am tripping over things a lot now. I walked the dog along a bush track to Coles the other day. I had a backpack full of stuff on the way back, and I tripped on a rock or something, and fell. I managed to land on my left knee whilst twisting my right ankle!!! I'm fine, and bubs is fine, but the most hilarious thing was that I couldn't get up. I was like a tortoise with extra weight on the back, and on the front!!!!
So much is happening in here I have been poppin in from time to time to read how everything is going with everyone.
Thanks Murph for the up dates yes I am so releived to get to 25 wks yah you are so busy I know how you feel about missing your family as my family live in the gold coast and we are all really close. I just miss being able to go over and have tea with them, also family get togethers and my DD missing out on growing up with her little cousins. Also re-labour clothes you can wear what ever you want but it does get pretty messy you might want to get into a hosi gown that way it is easier for them to pop little Jazzy on your tummy oooooh then when you have your shower pop on your clothes. Just a surgestion as thats what I did.
Neptune that would of looked hilarious but please be careful im glad you are alright. Yaaah 30 wks
Grub you will love the anti-natal classes some parts are long but at least you have them spread out. I found it hard getting into my dads boat and I was only 5 wks pg just be careful as you lose your balance and could end up in the drink.
Hi Jenc I replied in the twinnie thread I hope you are relaxing oooh my Gosh you are nearly 30 wks I wish I was there with you.
KellyD your post made me laugh it brings it all back from my first. It sounds like nothing has changed Are you going to a tour of your delivery rooms that makes it more real I looked at all the mummies to be faces and they were all the same SHOCK its going to really happen as well as mine.
Greenslw that sounds nice going out bush with friends relaxing by the fire so peaceful.
Missmagpie aren't we getting along now I remember being in the 2WW together hope bub is baking along nicely.
GD to all of you mummies that are getting close to you dates.
AFM I am now in hospital on bed rest my cervix is funneling (starting to to open) so im in here till 17th hopefully the bubs will stay put but the upside is the bubs have started to stablise themselves and they are behaving themselves its just that damn cervix of mine my Mum has come don to help with my DD which is a relief im lucky as she doesn't work so she will stay as long as I need her to. I will be popping in all the time now.

oh and i might just have some gossip too pmsl if any of you know dee/lilmisshaveachat then maybe a good idea to go check out her ttc journal, news thats made my day no matter how i feel
Hi all just a quick one I have had a gastro bug for four days. Feel like I have been hit by a train. Went to the doctor as was worried about baby and she told me that these babies are parasites and not to worry, I had to agree with that one. Started feeling bubs move but it is stopped now so maybe just my imagination. 12 week scan tomorrow if I can make it. By the way doc told me to drink coke for the morning sickness spose to help which it actually does and was doing this before anyway.
Murph thanks for the mention, can't believe I'm 16 weeks. Bit sad about the home birth situation for you. Guess living in paridise has a price.
Grub, Glad you're feeling better, goodluck at work this week.
BOC hehe DH sounds so cute my DP would be in sympathy if he ever hurd me. Hope it passes soon.
Kelly wow 4 hours is ages.Hope you didn't get too freeked out, better to know the 'maybes' now I guess.
Jenc hope the rest did you well.
Neptune, take care, dam rocks move dont they!
Azzrenae, you've got the net in hosp? very cool, hope the rest is rest and you're not going mad with all the hosp noises (never sleep there) Hope everything settles down. Lots of rest for you in the next couple of months.
Smithy I'm sorry you're still sick,
Saph babies are parasites (how comforting). Hope you're feeling better soon. Coke hay? never heard that before. Is it working?
ATM. told my dad today so nice to see his eyes pop out of his head, a really happy reaction! Told Step Daughter too and it was ok, she still managed to con a pair of jeans out of DP, not ask tell. Oh well I gues 20 is still dependant! although DSS at 15 buys his own cloths.
Pizza last night was so good, mind you we were all home in bed by 10pm. after work I'm so stuffed and I tell you one day off isn't enought. Bring on next weekend.
congrats on your 12 week mark saph!!! and i hope you feel better soon lovie.
smithy - oh you poor thing. i really hope your ms gives you a break soon.
azz and jen - you mummies of pairs take it easy! azz, that's wonderful your mum is around to help. i hope your time in hossy flies by. Is the doc thinking you might deliver early? what is considered premmie and full term for twins? glad your bubs are behaving themselves tho
neptune - no more tripping over stuff... feet, rocks, and inanimate flat objects like, you know, the ground lol. i'm glad you didn't land on your belly tho, stilll sounds like it hurt. i've found that now i'm preg and big I can no longer take the short cut or do the quick version of ANYTHING... and DH is continually telling me to take my time and not try to do 10 things as once (which i usually succesfully juggle).
i successfuly got on and off the boat without getting wet dh brought he boat right up to the shore for me and held my hand ... he lubs me
but our furry baby jumped out of the boat and into the cold river... lol. she then thought better of that and was very impatient about DH rescuing her heeheeehe.
Now girls, no more reports of hospital stays/visits unless it's to deliver a nice healthy bubba! lol. For all those struggling with illness/challenges - i'm thinking of you. Please take care of yourselves and your precious cargo. oxox
I hope you all had a good weekend. I was pretty shattered on Saturday afternoon after our class and have another one this weekend, luckily it is only the two 4 hour classes I have to cope with.
I forgot to mention that as we were doing our tour of the birth suite on Saturday my little monkey decided that she wanted to turn from head down back to transverse. It was so uncomfortable the Midwife asked if I was o.k or did I possibly need the suite.... Well she decided to flip back to head down this morning, I think she just likes to make me uncomfortable.
DH & I did a massive spring clean yesterday (we were warned about "nesting") so feel much better that the house is clean and hopefully easier to keep clean until baby arrives. All that is left is for me to clean the kitchen and our stove which I will probably do tomorrow as I have to do grocery shopping today and just walking around the supermarket wears me out.
Anyway better get moving or else I will get nothing done today.
Just wanted to let you all know my good news. Finally DH's contract at work has been extended until the end of Jan 10. This is such a relief as he was due to finish up the end of Sept. This now means he will be able to take some time off when bubs is born, and is such a load off my mind re: income etc..
Morning girls - well I have been hanging back a bit - haven't been feeling the best and emotions have kicked in. Balled last night, over what I am not sure!
Well have committed a bit more now - by adding a ticker - still a bit cautious though.
I guess having MS is good sign - but a horrid thing.
sorry no personals girls , but hope everyone is going well.
Also I Smithy - do know of Dee - will have to check her forum.
I have a question, and sorry if it is TMI... has anyone had any fears RE in early pg??? I mean I can't bring myself to let DH anywhere near me at the moment. I'm just too scared of hurting Cookie, which I know sounds silly but can't help it. We tried with the first one but I got partway through and freaked out and had to stop, which left DH a little frustrated. Is it just me or does anyone else have the same? He's starting to drop hints and I feel like a bad wife cause I haven't let him near me since about a week before our FET.
I had a bit of a scare last night too, was just sitting on the lounge and suddenly started having heart palpitations! It happened again this morning too, both times my resting pulse has been up around 104+ (normal is 60-80) needless to say I have been a mess all morning, all over a friend the moment I saw her. Rang my OB and she has told me to rest and to continue taking my pulse regularly and said not to worry just yet but if it keeps up or if it goes over say 120 then to call again immediately! it was just that I overdid it a little this weekend (2 trips to/from Sydney in 2 days and a little too much junk food on the road)
Sorry about the big "me" post guys, just had to get a few things off my chest!
My goodness BOC - I had the same fear - I did leave it until after the first scan (poor DH) though. Apparently it is all fine.
Now I have a question too - all I want to eat is peanut butter sandwiches - I have been told by a few friends to stay away from nuts. But have also been told that it is a myth as well. I am so confused. Can someone please enlighten me.
Bec - I havent heard anything about staying away from nuts while pregnant! Ive eaten lots of them including peanut butter on toast just on the w/e actually
Im sure Ive read online somewhere that nuts are fine. If you want clarification, look up online "foods to avoid while pregnant"
Hope this helps
BOC - you poor thing The heart palpatations must be scary. As for DTD, I have a very healthy sex drive so want it regularly! Have been told it doesnt hurt the baby, although DP has just started to get more paranoid now that the baby is getting bigger and we can feel it moving so he's worried that we are hurting it so I keep saying, no we arent, let just do it, lol
Im sure everyone is different and its what your comfortable with
BOC - look after yourself honey. You sound stressed! And tell your DH to pull his head in you wait til you feel safe and comfortable. Some women never do. Some men don't. Others are fine about it. You need to listen to how you're feeling.
Becc - re peanut butter, what happened was that advice was given to british preg women until quite recently not to eat peanuts or peanut products as it could trigger allergies. However, the british medical assoc has now retracted that advice as it has not been proven well enough to be true. That's my understanding anyhow. I think that if anyone related to you or your partner has nut allergies your MW or ob might still advise you not to, but I'm not entirely sure.
Someone else might have more up to date info than me though.
Kelly D - yay for good news!! That must be a relief. Hey, be careful what you use to clean your stove / oven won't you. You shouldn't use any of those toxic oven cleaners when preg.
greenslw, glad your dad was happy! it's so nice when you get a good reaction to your preg.
saph and smithy - rest up and take care. hope you feel better soon.
Neptune - stay on your feet!! and be careful!
Grub - good idea re the youtube videos. will def do that. and glad you successfully managed your tinny trip.
Thanks Jen and MissMagpie - it is so confusing you google something and get various answers - so it is good to hear that from some people on this forum. I don't have another visit to the doctors for another 2 1/2 weeks.
trying to topple murph for the title of longest post :)
hi all...
boc i alo felt very unsure on DTD post transfer and felt i was being awful in not wanting it. But i read somewhere on BB that it can be good for the googley egg and someones likened it to ''mummy giving bub a cuddle'' (when you organism). i thought that was cute, in a weird kinda way.
But at the end of the day it's what YOU are comfortable and I second jen's comment about telling DH to pull his head in. He just needs to be patient, there's a lot of other stuff going on at the moment. But it's hard for the blokes as they aren't living it every moment and can find it difficult to connect all the dots (well they are only men after all lol).
I have found as my pregnancy has progressed my libido has gone up and down. One day i drove in the driveway and all it took was DH to lift the garage door and that was it.. i literally got out of the car and dragged him to the bedroom. He was so happy lol. other times i just couldn't think of anything worse than DTD, completely not interested.
anyhoo, i am feeling absolutely wonderfully fabulous am so so happy. full day at work, buying baby clothes at lunch and even did a 45 min workout including 30 mins on the treadmill this arvo! how good is THAT!
last little gloat, my hug-a-bub arrived this arvo and i got the one with the pocket plus postage for $100 best bargain ever i reckon and about $20 cheaper than i've found anywhere else. a bargain makes you feel soo good.
okay, best go... suffer in your jocks murph... i'm at top-notch gas bag too!
