everyone else a big hello this beautiful saturday labour vibes for the girls again ...actually were are you both larni and grub HELLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Lani - you put us all to shame! I've just walked the dog for an hour and I'm shattered and I'm only 9 weeks!
I'm celebrating, last time I had a miscarriage at precisely 9 weeks. So today is a big 'date' for me, I'm so pleased to get this far. I'm still terrified of course, I had a stabbing pain this morning, and automatically think the worst is happening, but I need to focus on all the things that are better - e.g. got a heartbeat etc. Anyway, I'm happy to get to nine weeks and one day.
Kyra - hope the rest of your move goes ok x
Poppy - your MIL sounds like she should be sectioned! ha ha on the wigan athletic kit, that's funny, esp you doing the right colours. Funny what people's first reactions are, my cycling mad father asked how old a child would be before it got a bike! My mother in law and I have already had a minor altercation when she found out our baby would be vegetarian too - I can see that is going to be a 18 year battle. Someone asked me yesterday point blank if their daughter was going to be a godmother - which I thought was rather extraordinary.
Anyway, I didn't come on here to ramble, I came to see if Lani or Grub had popped, and how everyone else is. So hello all! xx
Lani - dh and i did a 2.5km waddle after dinner last night looking at the chrissy lights in the neighbour hood... accidetnally bought a yummy magnum at the shops en route but it was great to get out and take our minds off the bub. and the waddling felt sooo good... didn't fracking work in bringing bub on tho!!! lol.
got dh's work xmas dinner tonight. this anticiption of hoping everday is 'the day' is exhuasting so just had a nice arvo nap.
kyra - good luck with the move, it sounds awful. but think how good it'll feel to get ino your new place!
lm - celebrate every milestone hun!!! our FS told us 9 weeks was the magic week and we were pretty safe to tell people after that not sure if you feel that comfortable tho. focus on the positives.
greenslw - good luck for your friend!! and enjoy your male-free home!
poppy - i agree with what kyra said re: just wash your hands of that stepmum and let her do all the drama without you caring
hi smith and POSSUMS - so lovely to hear from you. Hope 2010 is a great year for you lovely.
Grub - Sounds fun looking at the Christmas lights! DH and I used to do that when we lived in Oz. We lived near the beach so we used to look at the houses along the waterfront. One side moonlight on the water and the other side pretty Christmas lights! Romantic! Cannot do it here or we would freeze to death! That puts a Magnum completely out of the question for us as well!!! LOL!!! 5 degrees here today.
Lani - 4 hours shopping!!! You must be exhausted.
Londonmiss - well done on 9 weeks!!
It is true about people's hopes for the baby!! My rail enthusiast dad rang me out of the blue one day and very seriously launched into 'Now I have been thinking about how I am going to introduce the baby to Rail. I might start with Thomas the Tank Engine and then move to a wooden brio set of his own. I can then take him to heritage railways when he can walk. What do you think?' Bless him!!!!
Smithy - Thanks for your kind words!! I just noticed that we both are exactly 4 weeks apart. We both change over weeks on a Thursday. Although with the time difference I have no idea when that is!! LOL!
Kyra - thanks for your support! I hope you are getting rest now!
Everyone else Belly Rubs!!!
AFM - going to wash the baby clothes today. It might be 5 degrees but the sun is shining.
Oh Londonmiss I have had the vegetarian question from my MIL as well. First of all I got the 'I know you don't eat meat but you are not fanatical about it are you?' Which isn't really the case because when she asked me why she got the whole philosophy (or lecture depending on which side of the conversation you were on!!!!LOL) and then she asked will the baby be vegetarian. After stating all our reasons for not eating meat it would be really strange for me to suddenly say 'Oh we don't believe in meat eating but I will still buy and prepare it for the baby!!! DURRRRRRRR!!!!! I did say though that even though he will not experience meat in our home that he is free to eat it of his own accord if he doesn't agree with our philosophy. Which will obviously be in a few years time!!!! I am guessing he is going to be having meat feasts whenever they are babysitting. I can just see it 'Have they left?......Quick put him in his highchair....I'll cut up these chops while you feed him that chicken soup!!! Have we got any bits of ham we can tempt him with.....Oh no they have forgotten something and are coming back...hide the meat...hide the bloody meat!!!!!' LOL
Hi all,
So much has gone on in just a few days, it's a little hard to keep up.
Great to hear from you Possums, hoping you are here soon.
Just a quick one from me as I am tired and want to go to bed. Been having terrible braxton hicks contractions for about three days. They are so uncomfortable and nothing I do will ease them off. I almost rang ob last night because I couldnt get comfy enough to sleep. Anyone got any suggestions of how I can get rid of them or at least ease them off.
Saph - I feel for you with the BH. I think though like with most of these pleasures of pregnancy it is the same old story. Only cure is getting the baby out! I have noticed that my heartburn and breathlessness has eased up. However the Pubis thing has cranked up a notch or two. Must be baby moving down!!!! I hope your pain eases soon.
LM -=- Congrats on getting past the nine week zone! just remember every week is a successs.. Im still counting them.. My next big milestone is 24 weeks because its where Ive read is the starting point of any possible chance of survival if I were to have the baby prematurely.. I think the odds are really low at that age, but I still see it as better off then no odds at all, so Im looking forward to getting past that point now takeing baby steps per say
I can definately sympathise with the vegetarian critisisms. My DH is vegetarian and Im not.. When we had DS it was non stop comments and remarks from my mother and my family, and well the general public... like "Dont you try to force that baby to be vegetarian youll make it sick!" and "Is he trying to force this on you, is he preaching to you like a cult member???" and "Hes crazy his iron levels will be nothing he's pale he looks anemic!!" and "you dont eat meat, you idiot! People are MEANT to eat meat!" sigh.. it goes on doesnt it.. Then theres trying to find a restaurant or anywhere really to eat out that doesnt have meat in every single dish.. We even went to a restaurant once and he asked for a meal without the chicken in it, and the waiter scoffed at him and said "why in the hell would you want it like that?" And this was in a restaurant covered wall to wall with buddhist statues and paintings! Some restaurants say to us when we ask if they have anything vegetarian "yes we have plenty of fish dishes!" then when we correct them and say, "no do you have anything without meat in it" they say "oh, ok yes well we have calamari and squid etc etc" LOL
Sorry to here your still waiting Grub.1 day to go. Hopefully with any luck you wont be able to make it to the dinner tonight for a very special reason The walk with the christmas lights and magnum sounds great to me! At least if not for anything else youll be nice and fit for the labour!
Poppy -=- 5 Degrees! That almost makes me happy to be here in the hot muggy heat.. but now when I write that not so much LOL.. Hope you get nice and clucky washing bubbas clothes today! Take it easy
Saph -=- Im sorry about the BH.. people say they dont hurt but they are most definately uncomfortable, feels like your pelvis and stomach turn into a rock and tries to burst through you like in one of thos alien movies! I do think its just one of those things tho Hope they ease up soon !
AFM -=- We had a colourfull afternoon yesterday.. We decided to take a load over to the new place and then start putting away some of the things and clearing the path for the removalists.. My MIL and FIL were with us which made for very short tempered tiffs between all four of us over what should go where and how to do it all and how we were going to cover up the space under the gate where the dog could get under etc etc etc.. I Love my in laws.. They are so cute when they get opinionated, and sometimes its a laugh just to sit back and watch them bug the hell outta DH. They've been so wonderfull tho, we couldnt have gotten half the amount done that we have without them, and they're always bringing out spiderman clothes and toys and things for DS (his current obsession) and bringing us little things we've mentioned we want/ need for the baby or for anything without us even asking them.. With a mother like mine it feels strange to have such help and niceness lol
anyway.. everything going smoothly, and My DS who has been so pooped hes slept in til now is stirring.. Talk to you all soon <3 Ky
kyra - sounds like the moving is going well. i imagine it's all pretty confusing and scary for your little boy, maybe that's why he's been such a terror! and ditto the inlaws. mine are lovely and i'm very fond of them, but they do drive me a little batty sometimes lol. but i have the good fortune to be close to my parents as well.
saph - sorry love can't help with the BH advice. but hope it improves for you.
DH's work dinner went well. we were up til 12.30am!!! i was so exhausted and when i got to bed felt heaps of pains/pulling etc down low so thought it ws the night and i'd wake up with contractions... nup! bub was very very active last nght as well but this morning he wouldn't move for anything - poking, changing my position, drinking very cold apple juice, breakfast et al... so i completely freaked out after an hour and called the birthing suite... They were so lovely, went in and got some monitoring done and all is well. He is moving but probably squirmed a bit so his arms/legs are now facing inside me. So ii feel very very relieved now and am glad i called... can't be too safe!
I find that i am waiting for "something'' bad to happen/go wrong/not work etc... probably understandable given our long journey to get here.
anyhoo - let's hope he comes soon, all by himself
xo
grub ..you know what hun i say youll have your baby by tomorrow night i rekon his quiet cause his settled into place now for birth and his getting as much rest today as he can its not gonna be far away hun thats for sure and all is going to be just fine you wait and see when your holding that dear little baby in your arms thinking of you heaps chicky babe and good luk many labour vibes for you .

Just a short one from me, won't attempt too many persies today.
Grub: Still sending evac vibes, hopefully it's today or tomorrow. Glad you got some monitoring done, I love the staff at NPH birthing suite, they didn't make me feel at all stupid when I went in either.
Smithy: Thank you soooo much for the bacon muffin craving... although must admit I'm happy you're able to eat well!
Kyra: Glad the move is going so well. And glad DS has worn himself out & given you a much-needed break!
Saph: sorry about the BH, I've been getting a fair few too. Hope you get some rest soon.
LM: YAY! Congrats on 9 weeks! GLad you can finally start celebrating!
Hmmmm... Lani is a bit quiet... perhaps there's movement at the station???
AFM: Still plodding along. Had another rough night and was just laying down to nap when DH came home from golf and put on his best Baby Elephant impression, crashing all over the house have spent the last hour on the lounge with him watching golf on TV and Cookie has been going hyper! Heaps of kicking and rolling, but then stopped when I left the room... oh dear! Please please PLEASE tell me I'm not going to get stuck with TWO golf nuts in the house!
Went to a Xmas party last night up the street and while we were walking home (or DH rolling home ) I could clearly feel a spine jutting out of my lower belly, could feel all the verterbrae... very freaky indeed! Reminded me of scenes from "Alien"
Anyway hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Sunday! :bellyrub: to you all and labour vibes to our two mummies-in-waiting!
Lani 4 hours shopping OMG you are a much stronger woman than me.
Londonmiss so glad you made it through your milestone.
grub. I don't know if I could do my DH work do in another 5 weeks you did well.
Poppyfairy: hope you got all those tiny cloths washed can't wait till next weekend my turn
Saph don't know if this may help but I layed on my left side last night with a 'warm' not 'hot' heat pack under my belly at the front it was so nice really helped my BH
Kyrawolfe are you all moved in?
BOC how cool to feel the spine.
Well I survived the DH work do too. It was very amusing seeing all the drunk ppl. We got home around 12.30 too. It was a good night and my friend is pg again. I new it now it's a waiting game, last time she told the world at 7 weeks this time she's waiting till 12-16. I guess that's the down side of mc it takes a bit of the fun out of those early weeks.
I really hope it works out for her.
DH has finished the painting! so in with the bi carb to remove the smell and next weekend it's my time, time to make it pretty. can't wait.
Well it's 4 weeks of work to go and I am really starting to feel like this is all real. Also baby is on my bladder! every hour or so. even at night. bugga.
I am still here waiting. However, I lost my mucus plug last night so hopefully things are starting to progress for me. I am that I may be in silent labour and my body is doing the early hard work without me knowing. Wishful thinking.
I have ob appt today so will let u all know if anything happens.
DH n I went for a drive to Wollongong yesterday and took some belly shots at the beach and then had lunch and went for a walk. It was a lovely day out. Probably our last one on our own just the 2 of us.
Hope everyone is taking care of their growing little bundles.
just a quickie... still here too lani... but you sound hopeful!! going to doc in about an hour to see what's happening. Been feeling very very crampy and heavy so i'm hoping there's plenty happening but i just haven't been invited to the party yet.
