Grub..... congrats on the arrival of Ashton, I'm so happy you got to have the labour & birth experience that you wanted. Can't wait to hear all the statistics about how big he is and fantastic job on what sounded like a dream delivery.

Welcome to the new mummy club, you'll love it....

Grub - cannot wait to hear your birth story!

Saph - you have been through the mill with this pregnancy haven't you?? Thanks for your advice. I am actually getting a little concerned. However it does just feel exactly like a period coming. When I am getting my period (which were never regular but the signs were so obvious!) my bowel seems to be affected somehow. So (TMI coming!) I get a dull aching low in my belly, it feels all heavy and sort of crampy and it feels like I need to poo. I also fart alot!!! In fact I will also poo quite a bit. I also get this weird shooting pain in my bottom when I fart. These symptoms are sooo delightful and make a great conversation topic!!! However this is exactly what is happening now! I even have the sore boobs I normally get before a period. Now I know I am not getting a period but surely prelabour or labour would be very different?? I am comforting myself with the fact that some women get the period type pains weeks before going into proper labour. I don't think I can stand a few weeks of shooting pain farts though!!! LOL The baby is also kicking so much now...he moves even when I am moving now.

Lani~ Cant wait for you to post pics.Hope your blood levels recover quickly.Glad you and bub are well though and heading home soon.
Grub~ Waiting on your pics too.Just checking..Is bub's name ASHTON or ASTHON?
Dusty~ How are you feeling now.I know you were stressed about your lack of symptoms after the scan.I have been thinking about you and hoping all is well. Please let us know.Have your symptoms returned?

Well as for me,nothing to report.Just waiting for the next scan on the 30th.Hubby wants MORE pics of his bub.. I just want more reassurance. Its funny, because i spoke to my IVF counsellor who said about the last scan "will you relax after you find a heartbeat?" and i said" yes,Of course" but now,im still watching every sign carefully, over analysing everything. We were going to tell my hubby's grandparents on xmas day as they have been desperate for us to give them a great grandbaby (They are maltese and its my duty to pro create LOL.They say evertime we see them in a strong accent,"Anything in the oven yet? When you having a baby?"We were also going to tell my brother in law,and its only 3 people but im already thinking maybe we should wait or the next scan now.....aarrgghhh! I frustrate myself.I know that my hormone levels have been fantastic from the start, and my scan went beautifully but still dont want to "jinx" things.I wonder if i will do this the whole pregnancy. How stressful,if i do.
Its taken almost 6 years to have this baby after IUI's,Clomid and 2x IVF.maybe im used to the constant appointments, blood tests, poking and prodding?
Oh well.Thats my vent for the day.Silly me.

Wantbaby I totally agree with you. I thoought once we saw the heart beat it would be fine but now I am also waiting til the next scan. Thanks to the grape vine and my MIL telling people evryone knows and I am also worried about what happens if something goes wrong. I have bought a doppler fetal heart rate thingy lol, so after 12 weeks I think i can check on the heart beat just in case.

My mum says its just because we are used to the disappointments we don't know whatto do once something positive happens So I guess we just have to take each day as it comes, support each other as best we can and worst of all WAIT! aargh

OMG wow CONGRATULATIONS on the safe arrival of little Ashton James! Wow I have been watching and waiting with you for what seems like aaaaaages, if only I'd known, all I had to do was leave town for 2 days and your little boy would pop right out I would have done it sooner! hahaha

    So very excited!

Look forward to seeing pics soon and once you're home and settled would love to hear about your time in NPH LOL

    How is everyone else doing?

I definitely think you're next Poppyfairy!

Just wanted to ask a question, had a funny 24 hours and not sure if I should be concerned and ringing my Ob or if this is just normal. Had our family Xmas yesterday and I spent the majority of the day sitting down. By the time we made the drive back from Sydney, I was 3/4 of the way home and started getting cramping in my left leg and I could feel my feet aching and swelling. Well once home (about 10pm) DH says "OMG look at your feet!" and I lokoed down. They were swollen alright, the right one normal swollen but my left foot, ankle and knee were like an elephant's! The last time it was that big was after I'd stepped on a bee and had an allergic reaction! Well by 3am it still hadn't gone down, but by the time I got up it was about 75% down and evenly swollen with the right. Now I know swelling is normal but then I had a funny turn in church this morning. I was sitting there and suddenly I broke out in a cold sweat from head to toe, I went all nauseous, my head was spinning and I thought I was going to pass out. Luckily I was sitting down cause DH took one look at em and asked did I want to go outside and I said "I don't think I can stand up" and the choir were right in the middle of a big performance so I didn't want to make a scene. Anyway I sat there praying to stay upright and about 20mins later it finished and he brought me a glass of water and I felt a little better but still this arvo just don't feel quite right, even after a 2.5hr nap. Should I be calling my Ob tomorrow? I just don't want to feel panicky, but this really hasn't happened before and it all just seems so sudden! It's something I would more expect to hear about in the 1st Tri, but not at nearly 25 weeks! And I'm really confused about the excess swelling of my left side... Hopefully it's nothing though.
