Hi Hippy Mum - thanks so much for your interesting post. That really makes a lot of sense. I'll also check out that website - so thanks again. Hope you've bounced back after a big Xmas day (I've not yet been visited by MS, but I get the feeling it may not be far away...!)

HM- Thanks for that info ...hope you have regained some energy
afm- just had BT...now the nervous wait begins...so much nervous waiting!

Possums :crossfingers: for BT today sweetie
Me have streached a muscle or I am streaching the latter is more probable anyhow the rest of the sorting out will be left to Daddy and the house cleaner. Mummy cannot do anymore!
I also am off to pick up a cool Mossie Net for the Nursery today :cheer:

Possums - I have everything crossed for you honey. I know this is a stressful time for you. You will get a chance to relax and enjoy this pregnancy soon - I just know it!
Mels - great to hear your levels are rising so well.
To everyone else - I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I will catch up with personals in the next few days, but there are just so many to catch up on!
AFM - well I am 27 weeks today! I think that means I am now in the 3rd trimester! WOW can't quite believe it. Anyhow, apart from that I managed to catch a cold just in time for Christmas day, so not feeling the best at the moment, but bubs is fine and has been extremely active over the past few days. Back at work today (bummer!) but at least it is quiet. Looking forward to my 28 week check up on Monday next week, although not looking forward to the GTT! Start on fortnightly appointments with OB from next week also - really looking forward to seeing bubs more often.
TL - just realised you are now under 100 days to go! Congratulations honey!

Possum, fingers and toes crossed for you today :crossfingers:
Janie, Wow 27 weeks :confetti:
Hope you feel better soon and your yucky cold goes away.
TL, only 14 more weeks for you....have fun shopping today
AFM, nothing new spending a few days resting at home and not much else as we will be at friends for New Years Eve so I thought June Bug and I needed some time out.
Belly looks/feels a bit smaller than last week but am sure everything is fine and don't won't to stress myself over nothing.
I really do  that I can feel this little one move soon just for some reassurance.

Hi everyone .. hope you all had wonderful Xmas's!
I havent been in here for ages and have tried to catch up on the goss!
Firstly big congrats Possum ... so glad you have been blessed with a natural pg after everything you have been through. I can understand why you are so stressed, anxious and cautious. You have had to endure ectopic and m/c so that is tough. I was stressed/anxious b/c of m/c so totally understand. GL for BT today, am sure all will be well! Will be thinking of you.
Congrats and welcome Mels77!
Nic glad u are resting, am sure all is fine ... I cant wait to feel movement as well! I feel like my tum is really popping, but i guess I have 2 in there. Dont fit into anything anymore, have to wear belly band with my pants.
HM - know what you mean re. fragile state. Amazing how things just really knock you around so much more in pg. I have my off days and days where I actually feel good. Thankfully vomiting has eased off am not at it every day. And nausea not so constant!
Just wondering if anyone knows, I keep reading its best to lay and sleep on left side ... why is that so? I have noticed though that most of my stretching and tickles happen on the left hand side - dont know if that is related? Just curious.
AFM - back at work, working through unfortunately but relatively quiet so taking advantage of BB (even though could be doing work - have a list long, but cant be bothered!) Xmas was great and had a wedding last night and if the wedding was a week or more later I bet I wouldnt fit into the outfit I wore! Thankfully the skirt was high waisted and I just managed to zip it up!
Anyway :bellyrubs: to you all!
Mon :)

Hi Mon,
It is to do with blood supply to your uterus. After about 20 weeks, lying on your back can cause restrictions to one of the main veins/arteries (because of the weight of the uterus). So you are encouraged to lie on your side. Either side is fine, but the left is the best due to the way the blood flows.
Hope that helps!

Mon, I noticed as well that I can a lot of movement when I lay on my left side. Must be bubs position I guess. I have been told it's ok to lay on either side. For some reason I am actually more comfortable on my right side.
-
I find bubs likes to switch sides I do get more movement on the left but she seems to like her time on the right side too :P

Firstly a big hello to Janie, Nicole and Mon...
Janie- can't believe how far along you are! I remember being in a TWW with you like it was yesterday
afm- just got BT results and HCG is now 1940!! at 19dpo ( i estimate) one week ago it was 67...so it has more than doubled every 48 hours and we are thrilled ... I didn't think it went up quicker than that, but i guess those doubling times are just a guide.
BG- i noticed you said doubling every 24-72 hours as an estimate?
progesterone today is 107.... it was 160 last week, but my nurse said anything over 30 is great.
Does anyone know much about progesterone levels and if they fluctuate much??
anyway, they aren't 100% ruling out that there is a chance I could have an ectopic pregnancy, but so far things are right on track and looking good. now I need to try and chill out, at least a little bit
-
Possums great news rest and relax
-
What wonderful news Possums! Those levels sound great and seem to be increasing just as they should be. I know it is hard, but try and relax and enjoy. When is your scan booked in for?
Janie xxx
-
Well, I haven't actually booked it yet...but they have suggested I go in at 7 weeks...so I have about 2 weeks to wait. They want another BT in a week, and the week after will be the scan.
I am in a funny position so far with this natural pregnancy...it's my IVF nurse who has actually done the tests for me (she is also a midwife at the local hospital)- she cares for my progress and basically offered to do it for me...so I haven't actually seen an OB...and we have no private births where I live...from 12 weeks on, I HAVE to go to the public clinic. So at most, you only see an OB 2-3 times before going to the public system. i am just working out what to do next, appointment wise now.
also, sorry everyone if I seem a real stress head... i guess I am after everything this year, but I have vowed to try and be calmer, for the little one's sake at least!
-
Possums you have every right to be a "stress head". You have had one mightly difficult year - anyone in your position would be the same.
At least with a BT in a week and then the scan the week after, you have something to focus on. Just remember that regardless of whether you go public/private, you can ask for more tests etc if you feel that you need them. So if you need another scan to give you peace of mind, then don't feel bad about asking for it. You need to do what is right for you, your DH and your little Christmas miracle.
We are here for you Possums! So post away whenever you feel that you need to.
BTW - just had a look back at my HCG results for around the same time and mine were around 2,000 - so very similar results! AT the time I was told this was a very strong result and obviously here we are now with 3 months to go!

Janie, bless you for easing my mind further :)

Possums, completely understandable that you would be feeling stressed. Your BT results sound great to me. Like Janie, I went back and had a look at my BT results (I only had one BT) and at 20dpo mine were 2510 so again very similar numbers, and I am still here and waiting for our little arrival. ;)
It's good that you have a couple of tests coming up to look forward to (BT and scan). Hopefully they will be able to put your mind at ease. :)
