FG - all that information would be very overwhelming - go with the positive aspects - you're pg, you're going to be a mummy - and you need to prepare. keep in mind most places let you have 12-24 week layby's, so you don't have to be so super organised as to have everything NOW, but you can be organised enough that all DH has to do is pick up a layby and put furniture together if you're not completely organised by the time Tex arrives. it is scary to contemplate early delivery i'm sure - i'm just hoping that it's all fantastic news from here. i keep looking at your progress as very positive - you got results for your APLS tests, and with the FIRST cycle in which you were treated, you've got Tex on board - that to me is a sign that Tex is just meant to be!

I figured it was about time I posted in this thread. I didn't feel I belonged here just yet (in my head!!) but today we had an u/s showing flickering heartbeats! An exciting, scary, heart racing, my god it's really happening milestone. :o

Just a quick post as I am sneaking this in while our visitors are still with us...
Had our first scan today. All is looking good - it was amazing to see the little heart beat. Rate is 167bpm which good apparently and size is 8wks 2 days so a little ahead of schedule.
Once things settle down here in a few days I will be back for personals. In the mean time, take care all and sending lots of tummy rubs to all.

also... I have been in touch with Bel who says to let you all know she is doing well :), but just feeling a bit overwhelmed by things at the moment...and still resting up...

Had my scan today. Saw him/her and heart beating strong. I am abit disappointed because the doctor said the machine was unable to take measurements, so I will have to wait a few more weeks for my next scan (not at the same place).
Had another BT Hcg 70 000 at 7 wks 3 days.

Possums: those numbers sound great and way higher than mine got with my ectopic, not long till your scan though and you can get the confimation you need. Please let Bel know we are thinkin of her and it is great that she is taking it easy!!
FG: i reckon Kmart is good, because to be honest ive tried them all and mat trousers have to be the most uncomfortable things to wear, no matter how expensive, they fall down or jab in. I actually found my bonds trackies are the most comfy pants i own, even at 37 weeks, but then you dont want to be seen in trackies all the time :lol: Its v. annoying that the doc's have to go with worse case senerio, because no matter what your going to stress, which really cant help! But i will be :pray: that all goes well for you!

butterfly- glad to hear good scan results...but yes, i'd be dissapointed you couldnt get measurements...but seeing that heartbeat is the main thing :D

Hi everyone, Sorry no personals today.
A lot has happened in the last 48 hours and I have to say that i might have to drop this thread and lurk as I will have even more trouble keeping up pretty soon.
We have made the big decision to move back to Australia...still trying to get our heads around it but i am sure the excitement will build day by day.
The other thing is I am going to move back into London for 5 days a week to nanny for really good friends. They have a 4.5 mth old and mum has to go back to work for 6 weeks to get them out of trouble. So I will move in with them and her company will pay me. I just couldn't pass it up. The money will keep us out of debt to make the move back home and what the helll...it will be good practice and I just love little Florence. I will come home on Weekends and DH will come in for one night, 2 days a week to see me. It will be a huge thing but i think we can do it.
So 2 weeks of packing...change all my chiro appointments, 6 weeks of nannying, 1 week of catching up with people...and final details, then back to Australia. WOW...my head is still spinning. Hmmmm, so you may not see me around so much.
To everyone, scans and BTs are all comign back great. Congratulations to the new comers and belly rubs to all.
We are 13.5 weeks and going well. Nothing major to report...

WOW HM! what a lot of news/changes for you to take in and adjust to- I hope this changing phase goes smoothly and isn't too stressful or tiring for you. Things have a way of sorting themselves out for the best in life I have found

AFM, 1 sleep away from our 19 week scan and I can't wait.
Noticed after stressing out the other week that my belly had shrunk...it's starting to show more and more. Hope to soon catch up with my Avy whose belly is bigger than mine ;)

Oh Nicole and Possums...thanks for the well wishes. I am sure it will all work out fine. First hiccup..and hopefully the only..chiro is not working sats anymore...great. Oh well...where there is a will there is a way.

Nicole, I can't believe you are 19 weeks already! It seems only a few weeks ago we were passing the tww together!! Glad to see all is going well. GL for your scan tomorrow. Are you planning on finding out boy/girl?
Chez, hope you're feeling well. Hard to host visitors when you're not feeling up to scratch. Glad you saw a HB yesterday. It puts your mind at ease that things are happening as they should.
Butterfly, looks like we're going to be travelling this road together right until mid August. It's frustrating when you are excited to be having a scan and can't find out all the info. you want. At least your next scan is only in a few weeks... you'll be further along and be able to see much more.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you're all cruising along well.
We have our 1st ob appt in a few weeks so looking forward to that. Had to ring them yesterday and update my details to let them know it was twins. While we knew the FET had worked, it wasn't until yesterday's scan that we were told that it was 2 poppets on the way. A question... I'm assuming this is a pregnancy sympton, but is backache first thing in the morning normal?? Or maybe it's time to replace the mattress...

BQ - hi and congrats on your great scan result. It is a shame that you couldn't get any measurements, but for me the most important thing I needed to see was the heartbeat (and that it wasn't ectopic!), so hopefully that you gives some peace of mind for the next few weeks.

AFM we saw our GP this morning. She is pleased with the scan results and gave me the names of several obs to try to get into. Apparently there is a baby boom on here and many obs aren't taking any more patients. I have already called #1 on the list and will hear back in a few days if she will take me on. We also have to make some decisions about what tests we are going to get done, specifically for Down's syndrome. We are both concerned about the risks of miscarriage with the tests, particularly (CVS) and don't want to do anything that will possibly harm the baby if we don't have to, but given my age (41) the GP is definitely recommending have an amniocentesis done. We already have a nuchal scan and blood test booked for 12 weeks and apparently my ob will want to see the results of this, so there is likely no getting out of that one. Does anyone here have any advice for me, or info that they would like to share as to why they decided to test/not test? Anyway, time to do some more research on tests etc.

Chez - don't let anyone pressure you into invasive testing you dn't want! i looked at the downs test as giving me an idea to prepare - i didn't need absolutes. our results weren't bad, but not great for my age 1:462. they didn't recommend further testing, but we'd talked about it.
the way i see it - there is a 1-2% chance of something going wrong with the amnio - so unless your risk is along the lines of 1:50, there is less chance of having a baby with downs than losing a baby due to the procedure. if you think you could manage the needs of a downs or other special needs child, all you have to do is prepare yourself emotionally that you MAY have a baby with additional needs - do you really need to know in advance?
