21 - AF type pain is, unfortunately, one of the lovely things you can look forward to for ooooh the next few months. i still get it now off an on - then cop a boot to the belly and realise it's just bubb stretching my tum or moving! it's a horrible feeling cos it makes you dbout what is going on, but it is normal to feel AF-ish for quite some time
as to the ticker - work out your EDD (there is a calculator under the Preg tools tab at top of BB page) - then decide on which ticker style you like - go to the associate website, create a ticker, then when it's ready it will give you BB code as an option. copy that (only the bit between [img] and [/img] - they often have hidden links you don't want to include). go to User Profile, Edit Sig - then create and automatic signature (so you don't have to type your details each time) - paste the link for your image and all done! BB has some tickers under the preg tools (tiggerlinda has one) if you're wanting an easy to use/find one!
good luck
BG
ooh - just check in user guidelines how many lines of text you can have in your sig if you have a ticker - you may need to condense it a little more...

hey
happy new year everyone:dance:
Ruth- congrats on getting BFP:clap: try not to stress to much about the spotting, i got a period when i first found out i was pregnant, then i had some spotting this month when my period was due. hopefully things will settle down for you soon, keep up with the bt's

mels77, hippy mum, janie 71 & Nicole s :bellyrubs: to you all
AFM- have been getting the worst headaches:cry: for the last 3 days straight i have had the same headache, i go to bed with it, wake up with it. it doesnt matter what i do to try and get rid of it, stupid thing keeps coming back. i go to take some headache pills and the guilt of taking something is killing me, i feel terrible knowing i need to take something stronger then panadol, i know that its ok to take something that has codiene in it, but i feel so bad and that i am not being a good mum. but the headaches are that bad that i am crying without even trying to cry If that makes sense?? today it hasnt been to bad, so thats a good thing. had my first anti-natal appointment with my gp last week, everything seems to be ok. have to go back when i am 12 wks. was wondering if he is going to give me a 12 wk scan?? if not i will ask for one, but it will take me weeks to get an appointment with the ultrasound place. will it matter if i am a few weeks over? or should it be done right on 12wks? if so i will just go back to gp and get a referall for the scan next week and book in now as it will take awhile for me to get in.
ok i will stop talking now lol
sorry if i have missed anyone
take care

m2c - if you're going to do the 12 week scan you're best to get in to see Gp at around 10 weeks as the associated BT (for downs risk) has a limited window of time in which it can be drawn for accuracy... as to the headache - is it a "helmet" headache, or just on one side of your head - the reason i ask is because if it's limited to one side (the intense part) it's more than likely from muscle damage in your neck/shoulders or your back/neck being out. if it's across the front or your entire head, you're looking more at a tension headache from your shoulders neck, sinus probs or a chemical problem (high bp, migraine etc) - if it's one sided get your dp to gently but firmly massage your neck and shoulders - or do it yourself) - i can generally find where my neck is out doing this - can' fix it, but can relieve the muscle tension. get yourself off to a chiro or masseuse/myotherapist that has experience with treating people in the first tri. if it's from muscles or back being out - it won't go away - your body will get used to it, but as soon as you move wrong or get it corrected, you face a headache again... if it's a helmet or full head headache - go and get bp checked - even if it's just at the pharmacy - if it's up, it's something to get followed up again to see if it's just a one off or something to be worried about. i have had a headache now since the weekend before Christmas - got BP and everything checked, all ok, so off to chiro where we discovered i had torn a muscle in my shoulder - and the only cure is time (and doing nothing with my arm - which i keep forgetting and it hurts again!). hope it eases soon - i feel your pain!
and yup - i'm going to be trying to find out the gender of the Gremlin next week - i can't believe it's only six more sleeps! i have DH home until Sunday (he's been home a fortnight - it's fantastic) and then he'll be home thursday morning at the latest so he'll be there for the scan yay! book into hospital on Friday and see the doc friday arvo. all this on top of going back to work next week for the first time since i started getting MS - yikes! work have been fantastic though - i'm only working half days next week - woo hoo! my boss approved it today. she was impressed that i would choose to work shorter days more often than to go to work and push through as i'm really struggling with fatigue in the arvos... i guess i'm just getting to read my body better now...
-
BG that is great hun re the work. I will post in your blog about the other stuff.
M2C- Same here, headaches and migraine since Christmas. I have not been to the chiro in a while...few months and went on Tues...to find i really needed to. So intense treatment for me for the next 8 weeks to try and correct a few things before i get too big and pelvis moves too much. The relief i feel already is great..as it always is...love the chiro...so i would get there asap hun for a check over. If it is just the hormones playing with you BP etc...then a massage would be nice...Indian Head Massage would be great. If it is structural/muscular then you need to get it sorted so that a massage can do any good. Otherwise a waste of money hun. BG gives great advice. I love that her sentences just go on like you are talking to her in person..so cool.
AFM- All is good and dandy. Will come in and update soon. Don't have loads of time today. xoxo To you all
HM xoxo

good morning everyone!
well i did another POAS this morning and its positive again! not any darker though, will test again tomorrow and go for BT next week! i still have quite a bit of discomfort in the uterus though, im quite nervous its ectopic but i guess a week more of waiting wont impact much on the 2 years!!! thankyou for all your support and I hope i havent come into this forum too early!!!
ME 21 DF 21

there is no way an ectopic would give you pain at this point hun - it's just far too early for anything to be putting pressure on the tubes. you'll most likely find your little embryo is snuggling in for the long haul, and that is what is causing you discomfort. our bubba got the nickname Gremlin because of the pain it put me through at implantation - felt like a Gremlin trying to eat it's way out of my uterus!
congrats again - and good luck for BT on Monday!
-
briggsy - yes it does feel like that, like digging! thankyou i feel a bit more confident now, i also have had headaches for the last 3 days, it still feels like AF is coming, maybe it is! who knows i just dont feel i would get such a strong BFP 2 days before AF is due if its a chemical preg.

M2C & HM - I had massive headaches for a good few weeks - I have one word for you......Acupuncture.....
My Ap therapist reckons it was low energy giving me the heachaches. I was going to bed with it, waking up with it and like you M2C crying because I just didn't have the energy to stop it - it just hurt so much.
After session 1 - headache was gone by the end of the session, but started to return about 5 days later.
After session 2 - again, headache gone by the end of the session and then stayed away.
I do Ap about once a fortnight - sometimes once a week if I know I have a lot on that week.
I swear by it. It's gold.
Take care girls - I'm off to Byron tomorrow for a week. Speak to you when we get back

hey everyone
thanks so much for your replies and help regarding headaches
the headaches are right on top of my head in the middle and it throbbs, it really feels like my brain is hurting, i sit there with my hands on top of my head just holding it and applying some pressure but everything hurts. what sort of headache does it sound like??
do you think it could be from the crinone gel?? but if so why are they only happening now and not over the last 8 weeks, god i hope its not from the gel cos i have another bloody 3 weeks left on it.
-
M2C, headaches are pretty common in early pregnancy. My acupuncture lady tells me that as the nausea subsides, the headaches tend to get worse - my 2nd trimester was a misery of headaches and anemia and leave in acupuncture needles to try to get some relief. However, I didn't get throbbing headaches... might be worth a trip to the doctor?
BW
-
i agree with BW - it sounds like it's just a pg thing - i would be nicking into the doc - or pharmacy at least and getting BP checked out to make sure it's nothing like that

Hello all,
Welcome to 2009 - wishing everyone a wonderful year full of beautiful babies!
I've been MIA for the past week or so - internet probs as our modem decided not to work 1 month out of warrenty - how do they know that!
21&TTC - :leap: a big congrats on your BFP - wishing you all the best for the BT next week, but looks like you are on track for a 2009 baby - good luck.
BW - what a beautiful little boy you have - and I cant belive that he is already 2 weeks old! Hope that all is going well. Best wishes.
M2C - hope that you are getting some relief from the headaches - sounds like you have got lots of good advice - my only suggestion would be to try to increase the amount of water that you are drinking (if possible, and if you have not already) as mild dehydration could be a contributing factor. Hope that you can get them under control soon as they are not what you need at all!
Nixon - enjoy Byron!
BG - wow - not long till your scan. Hope that you can get a clear picture of your little boy/girl - that would be very exciting and make nursery planning that little bit easier! That is great that you are looking to get back into work and that your workplace has been so understanding - even if they 'have to' there is a big differece in how they could do it and it sounds like you have a good one! Hope all goes well.
TL - glad that the little one is doing such acrobatics!
Ruth - :crossfingers: that all is going well for you and that the bleeding has stoped. I'm sure that you have a little fighter on board who is going to hang in there despite giving mum a good scare! Good luck for your BT tomorrow.
Possums - I hated the count down to the scan - worse than the TWW. Wishing you all the best and that there is a strong little heart beat on the screen.
Scooby - wow - must be getting close - scary stuff. Glad that you have some relief from the heartburn. Good luck in your final preps.
Dusty - hope that all is going well and that you have had a great break.
To everyone else - hello and hope that all is well.
AFM - first ob appointment is tomorrow (8 weeks) to work out what kind of care I'm going to need. Spoke with our specialist last week who advised I'll be on my injections up to 30wks (not the 16 I thought I heard her say originally!), so that will be fun. Have been luck to have a great GP here who is being great and will try to do some of the monitoring with the ob if possible which will save $$ and travel which would be good. Have spent my time off work not doing much and taking long naps - am dreading going back to work, esp on days when I have to go to Melb (6 hrs driving) - dont know how I am going to manage that. Have had a few days of nausea but no chucking - which is good, so fingers crossed it stays at that. Had a little crisis when I was convinced that tex was gone and even POAS just to see the two little lines come up - pathetic I know but oh well! Just hope the ob does a scan tomorrow to check growth and we get to see another heartbeat.
To everyone going back to work tomorrow - good luck and ease into it gently!

hey
just a quick update on the headaches
went to the hospital last night around 10.30pm cos the headache was that bad, they checked my bp and it was perfect (thankgod)
the doctor came in and he told me that i am suffering from migraines and he ordered me to take panadiene forte. i told him that i was freaking out about taking them, but he told me that it wont hurt that baby at all, mind you dp had to watch me take them, just to make sure i took them cos i just felt terrible taking them.
but the good new is the migraine is gone and i hope it never returns. thanks again everyone for your help over the last couple of days.
fg- best of luck with your appoinment tomorrow, hopefully ob will do a scan so you can see tex and that will give you some comfort knowing everything is alright in there.
-
M2C - Good news the migranes are gone
FG - Enjoy your first OB appointment very exciting
AFM: 3 trimester today :leap: and Miss Charlotte is active we have almost all the big stuff for the nursery  Need Daddy to set up cot and change table. Back to work tommorrow but finding it really hard to be motivated to go :(
-
M2C, good to hear your feeling better. :)
TL, THIRD trimester!!! How exciting. I'm getting there too...I can't believe it!
We finished bubs room today. All painted, cot and change table all set up, just have to pick up my rocker from Baby Bunting next weekend. I have a clothesline full of nappies and clothes today and I did about 4 loads last weekend of sheets, towels and wraps and blankets. Waiting on my last delivery of nappies to arrive in the post and we're set. Just need a few things for the walls in the room, a lamp and a laundry hamper of some kind. This is what not working does to you...I have too much time on my hands to get organised!
-
nothin wrong with being organised Megan - i can't wait to be able to walk into our babies room and see baby stuff, not a mish mash of stuff that doesn't belong there!
-
Ours was a mish mash until last weekend and I have to admit it feels really good to have it organised. It's now the neatest most organised room in the house. When I get my rocker next week I will probably just sit in there day dreaming!
I don't know when most women get the urge to 'nest' but I've been cleaning and organising like a mad woman this week. I even helped DH mow the lawns/whippersnip today because I just NEEDED it to be done! I'm exhausted now, but at the time I just couldn't stop. It was like I was posessed! lol
