Farm girl - glad you're safe & sound. Congrats on the scan.
Janie - not long to go now...!!
Nicole - hope you're well.
LNB - can't help with your question, maybe in a few months time!
hi to TL, Nixon, BG, Bel, 21, Chez and everyone I've forgotten.
Well, I've got my 12 week scan tomorrow. I'm so nervous, I've been having heart palpatations all the time. I also had a really horrible dream last night, that woke me up and felt so real (I won't explain...too awful). I really just pray that everything goes ok tomorrow. It is so hard since I've been feeling a lot less "pregnant" lately. Well, at least I'm on the countdown now - and I have a very busy day ahead to keep my mind off it. Hope you all had lovely weekends.
PS Ladies there is a link in my signature to a Big BellyBelly meetup we are trying to plan for August trying to give eveyone heaps of notice in advance if you would like to think of coming along please vist and let us know what dates etc would suit the more people the merrier
I'm fine...except....and I don't like to complain, but I am so constipated it's not funny . I started taking Elevit a week ago, and I think the iron in there has bound me up!!!!! Can I take metamucil? I'm eating heaps of fruit and veg, water and exercising to no avail.
Neptune - I have had the same issue for the last 20 weeks....
I was told not to take metamucil but to find a natural solution. Everyone is different but I found that dried apricots ( about 8 - 10 a day) plus unsalted cashews ( 3 - 4 handfuls a day) helped. Have the apricots and cashews about 4 - 6 hours apart everyday and you might get some relief. Drink plenty of water and take comfort in the fact that it is one of the most common (and grossest) signs of a healthy pg
Neptune - I too suffered considerably in the first tri. I mean badly suffered. For someone who was regular several times a day to once every 2 - 3rd day (if I was lucky).
I found dried prunes (around 6 of them - first thing in the morning) or prune juice first thing in the morning, dried apricots & 2 litres of water (minimum) a day helped a bit.
I think the cause is the hormones your body is now creating to support your baby - some iron tablets are known to make it worse, but I don't think Elevit is the main culprit.
I just wanted to drop in and say to everyone and to meet up again with some old faces that I went through previous cycles with who have been in here for a while.
Well, finally I got my BFP yesterday but feel a bit of a fraud being here so soon. But I really wanted to drop by and feel like one of the pg girls.
My HCG at the BT yesterday was 305 and I am booked in for my scan on the 11th March to check for h/b and to see if we have 1 or 2 joining us, so I will probably lay low for a little while (or until some symptoms arise that I need to vent about). But I want to send my best wishes to everyone who is here and I'm looking forward to sharing my journey with you all.
Thanks for your well wishes yesterday - had my scan this morning and everything is great and we have a very low d/s risk. It was the most amazing experience. Little bub was swooshing around and kicking legs and drinking (!). Just spectacular.
Thanks again to you all - I'm on cloud 9 today
Mels xx

Off to the physio at the hospital this afternoon to deal with my back and pelvic pain which has been giving me a bit of grief over the last week.
