Hi Bel :)
My BBs starting leaking colostrum week 16 of my pregnancy, and I've heard that around that time can be quite common, as your prolactin levels start to pick up a bit more then. I was only leaking at night time in bed though. It lasted the rest of the pregnancy. You get used to it, and hopefully it will mean plenty of colostrum when baby arrives, and with lots of sucking a good milk supply, if you want to/can breastfeed! It did for me.
Congratulations on getting to 17 weeks, hun! Not long til halfway there!

Hi Everyone -
Where does the time go? I find time to read everyone's posts everyday but not the time to reply !!
Congratulations to Numa and Scooby !!!!
Welcome to Rara - wishing all the best for a H&H pg
I'm sure I won't remember everyone but thinking of you all...
Belle - great to hear from you , hope you are feeling better today and don't have to go to the OB
Kahlan - hope your cold passes soon, they really can make you feel like crap
Nixon - what a scary 24 hours but huge releif to know everything is okay
BG - I know what you mean about needing some 'alone' time, between work, family , DH it seems there is never time to sit down and stare in wonder at my belly!
TL - i can't wait to be able to feel our little Fredbear (family nick name) rolling around inside - must be amazing
Possums - hope you are doing okay. Re the scans, I'd go with your gut feel, it is a hard one to decide but go with what you want
Chez - what a crappy OB - I'd look for a new one, you can always go back if you don't find anyone you like better but it might put your mind at ease and I'm sure you'll get better treatment
To all the lovely ladies I've missed, :bellyrubs: to everyone.
AFM - all seems to be ok. MS still strikes in the morning and if I forget to eat for more than about 3 hours which is annoying but oh well. I've had some dizzy spells lately probably due to the heat and forgetting to eat often - I'm sure I'll get the hang of it before the 9 months is up!
I haven't been able to tell if I can feel any movement yet, I get 'tugs' but think it is just everything growing and moving around. Belly is starting to show and most clothes don't fit, just happy I like dresses and have a lot that are accomodating of the bump! Next scan at 18 weeks, only 12 sleeps to go :)
Take care everyone,
LNB

There is so many to reply to but I hate missing any of you out! Great place tho to catch up on everyone at the same time!
Nixon & BG - The anxieties of work began to diminish a little yesterday after I had a good chat with my supervisor. I love my AP and can't wait for her to finally get back from holidays!!! Calm birth cds..never heard of them but sound wonderful! Will have to look in to getting a couple!! Pg hormones - vital but can make your life hell (as well as others around you..lol). In regards to connecting with bub I'm beginning to realise that at this stage it can sometimes be a difficult..strange isn't it? Once I feel it move etc I am sure it will start to feel even more real.
TL - The prospect of going on mat leave in 2mths must be sooo exciting!!!!! A new adventure begins...hooray!!!
Kahlan - Poor thing! Sounds like you are having a bit of a rough time. Go DH! He obviously is treating you as he should be! Us women tend to be a bit bossy (sorry just speaking from own experience here lol) even when we're not pregnant so he should be used to it shouldn't he? Hehe.
Devon - Not long now!!!
Possums - As do all of us hun! A short fuse is probably all part of the worrying process & I am sure ppl who love you & who know what you have been thru understand completely so are prepared to put up with you...lol.
Nicole_S - In total agreement! Stress I believe can be worse for the bub than the actual scan!
Chez67 - What an awful experience for you! Why does it always have to be our mistake? In my opinion..keep the Fri arvo appt..it would put my mind at ease especially after your experience! And I would also look into getting a new OB..the staff supporting him/her obviously don't know exactly what they are doing or how to treat the patients with understanding & care!
Bel - Haven't forgotten you! Just replied to your post in your blog!
LNB - Thanks sweetie! The heat has been an energy sapper for me too! Though we just got installed today a air-conditioner! Hooray! I am exactly the same with my nausea..was ok until the 3hr mark came around..then I am straight away starving and nauseaous! Blah!
AFM - Had a bit of a scare yesterday. Saw lots of bright red blood. Went for a scan. Bub looking beautiful and healthy. Measured now at 8 weeks yesterday! 1.5cm, 167bpm. Had a bt this morning for prog level..now we wait. Only have light spotting this morning which is a great sign.
Mwa xx

Rara - Scary re: the blood, but you sound like you are taking it all in your stride. Hoping that your results give you nothing more to worry about.
Calm Birth is a birthing technique similar to hypno birhing. The CD's are a part of the course - I can highly recommend the classes if you are planning for a natural birth.

-
Rara- glad all was good at the scan and hope no more bleeding from here...hope you are doing OK
Nixon- i intend doing those classes
afm- having a scan tomorrow
-
Rara - Scary re the blood but reaching 8 weeks puts the odds in your favour sweetie
LNB - Tugs and Flutters were my first signs of movement so sounds wonderful to me
Bel - :leap: on 17 weeks
Me getting more and more tired but getting there
-
Good for you sweets - I did mine @ 16 weeks over a 3 week period - most people don't go til later on, but I reckon it has really helped me with getting my head in the right place for the birth and just the prenancy in general.
I'm actually looking forward to the birth and seeing what my body is capable of (weird I know). I'm looking forward to feeling all of it and I think it will really give me a lot of confidence in motherhood.
Possums - are you still doign the scan tomorrow? I can't remember.
X
-
Bel- woohoo 17 weeks, I can't believe it..you have come so far and through so much already...
Nixon- yep scan tomorrow, I just left the plans as they were in the end
TL- hope that tiredness doesnt drag you down too much and you have plenty of time to rest
-
Good luck for tomorrow. I've got a good feeling about this one, matey. I'll be waiting to hear your updates tomorrow.

https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ml#post1618977
-
TL- sorry I dont have an answer to your question...but i wanted to say your jewellery sounds really interesting and like the sort of thing I would buy...I wear a lot of crystals
Nixon- you know, I have a good feeling about this one too, deep down, I really do...and this little one had to overcome hurdles just to get into my uterus in the first place!..I am just scared to trust myself after getting so let down last time...I need to let go that fear somehow and just embrace this...I am working on it!
-
hi girls - so sorry I've been MIA for a while...but have been keeping up to date with everyone's news. Some exciting stories in here :D
AFM, all's well...like many I'm struggling with the wait to the 12 week scan (which is apparently my next one). By that time it will have been 5 weeks between scans which feels like a torturous eternity! I'm trying not to give in to my anxiety and just wait it out, but it is going to be hard.
My symptoms are continuing (including a delightful new development...excess hair!) so I'm just taking it all as a good sign.
Bye for now
Mels xx

I know how you girls feel that 5 weeks is almost the longest of your life! Sweeties hang in there nice and strong and keep your chins up no one remebers to tell you that this pregnancy thing is full of more waits after the TWW

Hi lovely ladies
Thank you so much for your replies and thoughts. You girls really are the best! :grouphug:
Well not surprisingly I had the worst night's sleep last night... I tossed and turned but tried to be very quiet as DF had to get up at 5 this morning to catch a plane but in the end he woke up and I ended up in his arms crying. Bl00dy pg hormones! Anyway, I kept going through yesterday's events at the OB and while DF thinks we should stay with the current OB I am thinking that I might look at finding another one, one who will actually be in town on our EDD would be nice! But I need to think it over and talk to my DF a bit more which will be the weekend now as he is out of town until late Fri night.
I have decided to keep the scan appt for tomorrow afternoon. If the worst has happened, and I don't feel in my heart that it has, then not having the scan will not change the outcome. Plus if all is good, it will be another chance to have a peek at our little Gizmo bub!
And today was my first day back at work and I couldn't stop eating. Luckily half the office is away on leave or travelling for work so I don't think anyone noticed. My boss wanted to talk about planning work for the next 6 months and I though, uh oh, I am going to have to tell him before I wanted to about the pg, but luckily none of my projects will be an issue around July/August so I kept my mouth closed. We want to wait until 1st tri is over before we start making official announcements.
Time for some personals...
Scooby and Numa - belated congratulations for your beautiful babies! Hope you're back at home soon and settling in to your new lives!
Bel - 17wks already - that is amazing! Hope your bladder issue sorts itself out and you don't have to see the OB.
Possums - good luck for your scan tomorrow. I am sure everything will be perfect
TL - personnally I think people can be very cautious of e-bay, so if it's not too costly, I think another on-line store would be better. While I have bought from e-bay in the past, I do tend to only use e-bay as a last resort. Hope that helps. And your jewellery sounds very interesting... do you have any photos?
Nic - you are so organised having done your birth classes so early... while we were on holidays we caught up with a friend who is 23wks pg. She gave me a copy of a CD called the Orgasmic Birth. I haven't been brave enough to watch it yet. Have you heard of it?
Rara - hope the bleeding continues to stay settled down. Good luck with your bt result. And your scan results sound perfect hun.
Devon - any day now! Hope all goes well for you
LNB - tugs and flutters sound very exciting, much more than the AF like pains that I put down to bub/placenta growing. I can't wait!
Kahlan - *touch wood* I have managed to avoid the colds that been around me these last few weeks. Hope you are resting up and feeling much better very soon.
:hello: to BG, Miss C, Megan, FG, Mels, and to everyone else.
xx

hi ladies
i stopped spotting for 2 days now its started again, no pain though, i just wish it would stop, it is still light pink, GP was very reluctant to give any P4 supplements as its at 25 which is only slightly low it still worries me though! also he said there is no need for a scan until 12 weeks!!! im so stressed, i have another BT on monday when i will be 7 weeks to see what levels are doing, i really hope some miracle will happen but am expecting the worst. sorry for the slefish post, i just would like some proof that i can actually make a baby with my DF
-
Chez - the long weekend should result in some photos think I may use an ebay and other online store link

Chez - I have seen a brief video of orgasmic birth - it was shown during the Calm Birth class. Hhmmm, what can ya say - it's a woman having an orgasm while giving birth. Personally, I couldn't imagine those 2 things being forever linked in my memories...'how was the birth?'...'Oh, I Orgasm'd my way through it'. BUT - each to their own. Good luck with the scan - I'm sure it's going to be fine and down to the incompetence of the OB's staff. You could shrug off that kind of service if you were at McDonald's and they couldn't find you a big mac - but an OB's practice - PLEASE. I'd be looking for another OB. The main reason we went with an OB was so that if anything happens to not to go to plan a the birth (touchwood) the person helping me will be someone I know. Apart from that they don't really do that much - my appointments last 10-15 minutes every 4 weeks where he weighs me and does an U/S. I used to get weighed at jenny craig every week and that was for free :-) Do what you need to do to feel better - you can always go and meet another OB without cancelling your current one and then decide. No offence to DF, but you are the one who has to be ok with the OB, how you feel about your pregnancy and the treatment you want to receive. DF will end up being the one who cops it if you are not happy - just ask my DH....
Bee - Glad to hear J has been moving around a lot. My little terra hasn't stopped since my Acp. session on Wednesday. I think it was a case of the more I stress the less the baby wanted to move which made me more stressed ....vicious circle much?
Mels - Yep - Hairy Gorilla Belly....looks great in a Bikini. You should try it :-)
Possums - again, good luck for today.
