AFM- Crying has stopped...packing has stopped...researching my butt off to try and find info in Aus. Given ourselves a few days to make a decision to cancel the tickets and stay or not. Feeling very pressured and trying to let go...will let the universe decide. I just don't want to have any regrets. So i better go, got lots of people i need to speak to. Once the decision is made, all will calm back down.
hi girls i need some advice again, i had light pink spotting last night for about an hour, no pain, only when i poked up "there" did anyone else have this? im very nervous i dont want to lose my 2nd one in a row :( i threw up twice this morning so the MS has come and im feeling like i will again any minute! got the bowl here! the bleeding has stopped now and im scared, my DF was crying too :( it broke my heart im getting bloods done on monday so should know by then, i didnt feel like sitting up in the ER they dont care about miscarriages, maybe it was the aspirin i took? i had a sharp pain in my cervix about an hour before i started spotting maybe it dilated a bit? im trying to pretend it didnt happen but its hard. any advice would be great.

21 - there is a huge increase in blood flow to your cervix at this stage - anything will irritate it - don't fixate on the small amount of blood - many ladies have bleeds and nothin happens. i would say your cervix is a bit sensitive - don't poke around up there any more!!!
fwiw - my ob said that "mild pain is normal - everything is stretching. pain that comes and goes is likely braxton hicks. pain in the absence of blood is ok. blood in the absence of pain (if a small amount) is normally ok. you need to seek help if: you have regular pain that is intensifying - like contractions - or continuous pain over a period of more than an hour. or heavy bleeding". he was fantastic at laying it on the line
go have a look in the pg threads - there are HEAPS of ladies that have had bleeding in early pg - there is a whole sticky thread devoted to it!

thankyou girls for all the info and kind words regardin my aspirin and bleeding incidents i do apologise for the selfish posts but i dont have anyone else to talk to as we are keeping this pregnancy a secret until a heartbeat is seen only our mothers and sisters know and they arent much help! once again thankyou i have no more blood and i wont poke in there anymore i promise!

AFM - Had a pretty full on day today. My mum has moved down near us (has been living with us whilst waiting to find a rental). Anyway we moved most of her furniture today into the new house...tho everyone that was helping out kept on reminding me over and over again how I shouldn't lift this, shouldn't lift that etc etc don't they know I would never want to compromise the welfare of my baby? But all is good..and now Rara is tired. Take care of yourselves AND your lil bundles xx

21 - like the others have said, what is done is done, but I dont think your asprin taking is prob to much to worry about. I take 100mg of asprin every day (plus heparin which is like asprin) - have done so before we concieved, just to keep our 'Tex' alive! I'm sure that in very large doses - like everything, it is not good, but I'm sure it would not be used in pg at all if there were significant probs with it. As for pain etc - I know that i've had bits and pieces and think that it is just my body adjusting to this new reality - however stressful that is. Hang in there and see what happens on Mon - :crossfingers: it will just be your body getting ready to carry this baby to term!
Rara - congrats and welcome! Great news on the heartbeat - it is such an amazing moment. Wishing you all the best with this pg.
Kaydee - glad I'm not the only one with a pg belly at this stage! Good luck keeping it a secrete - it is just hard not to want to share the exciting news around.
Nixon - great effort - i cant belive how many of us are in here at the moment - how wonderful is it to see it all together! thanks so much for taking this on.
AFM - had appointment yesterday at OB, and all looking good - could even see little 'blobs' which I am arguing are arms! Tex is right on the spot for growth and still had a heart beat of 179bpm...i again asked if that is ok - seems high, and again he said it was! So now I'm booked in for the NT scan on the 9th of Feb, and then back to the OB at the end of Feb. On the upside, OB got some more BT results back and thinks that my APLS is not as bad as he thought so :crossfingers: the pg could be normal, i'll just need more monitoring. That would be nice.
Anyway, that is my news. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

sounds like a great appt yesterday FG! Heart rate is completely normal - i think the bubba has it's peak heart rate around weeks 7-9 (highest recorded for us was 186bpm at around 8.5 weeks) - it then tapers off til it is at what we see as "normal" - anywhere from 120-160ish. our little Gremlin hovers between 145-155 all the time now!
hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend - i have 2 kidlets here at the moment - have been here since about 2.30 yesterday cos their parents had hens/bucks do to go to. they're not bad kids but i'm looking forward to them leaving. ms is really getting me down and i can't just relax. the younger one is 6 and not a bad kid, but he has to be supervised all the time - has hearing issues, and has learnt, with people other than his parents, that having a teary tanty when he doesn't get his way gets him what he wants - problem is, i'm more stubborn than him - so earlier this morning (yes, i've been awake since 6.15 - wtf???), when he threw a tanty cos i wouldn't let him choose PS2 games (i was making sure the games were two player) i told him he could tanty all he wanted, if he kept doing it, i'd stop him playing altogether and his sister would be able to play what SHE wanted! nasty i know, but i don't deal well with unreasonable tanties! think he learned pretty quick not to push my bottons cos they are mostly unpushable - esp when it comes to high pitched shrieking when i'm feeling like crud with MS!
they are happily racing each other on a Crash Bandicoot game at the moment... he just tried to quit and "change cos i'm losing" - same deal, told him to play properly or i'd take him off the game! i'm a hard biatch, but sometimes you have to be! lol
Sounds like you are pretty well prepared for all stages of parenthood, BG. I'm just relieved I'm starting out with one and going from the ground up... on the job training, so to speak!

ahh the advantages (i think!) of having nieces and nephews that love staying with Aunty BG - games and stuff are a must! there's only so much time i can kick them outside (esp in winter/at night), so have to have something to keep them occupied
i'm being anal today (moreso than normal) - time to catalogue all the PS2 games, kids books, CD's and DVD's - am sick of not knowing what we have! plus this way i can loan them to said kidlets and know who has what!
is it normal to get nasty ouchies (like feeling bruised to touch) at this point. it was hurting on left side of tum (kinda near leg joint) a couple of days ago - today it's on the right side - but worse (i'm thinking maybe that ovary still hasn't gone down) - Gremlin isn't as active today as she has been, but then, she was awake at 6.15 this morning so probably needs her sleep! i'm just sore and struggling to get comfy at all...
BG, for a few weeks my tummy (low down and all the way across) felt bruised and uncomfy. It almost felt like I had done 1000 sit ups or something and every little movement that used my tummy muscles (pretty much everything!) was really uncomfortable. It lasted a few weeks and started around 20w from memory. Now it only happens occassionally, but seems to be have replaced mostly with pelvic pain whenever I go to sit or stand. Probably not helped by the fact that there's a 1kgish baby using my pelvic floor as a trampoline!
well, i guess i will say YAY that it's normal, but DAMN that it's normal and gonna go for a while too - no fair!
i've got a bubba that is fantastic at ambushing me - nothing for two hours, sitting here quietly doing stuff on the puter - then i get random jabs to my tum just near my belly button - made me jump!
ooh, on the topic of belly buttons - mine is half gone already! wonder if that means the other half will last til the end of pregnancy?? i'm so not looking forward to having an outtie!
I definitely with you on the belly button!! I can see the bottom of mine which is really weird. I think I have discovered I have a belly button phobia during this pregnancy! lol DH likes to give me daily belly button updates ( i don't wanna know about it!) as to how it's looking and he thinks it will pop by the end of the pregnancy. The thought makes me feel a bit queasy!
me too megan! i have a really deep belly button normally, and DH finds it funny to tickle my belly button (apparently to get gremlin's attention) but makes a point of telling me how much it's shrinking! he finds it hilarious that i'm adamant i don't want an outtie!

hi everyone im off to get a BT this morning for HCG levels as i have had more red spotting last night and this morning, no pain though, so i think i will be out of this thread very soon as i have no hope left, i just cant believe its the 2nd time in a year, ive never even gotten to see a heartbeat :( i hope no one in here has to go through this, good luck everyone.

afm- just deciding what to do about our next scan...we can go this Friday, (I am anxious as around 8 weeks is when the last one stopped growing)....but then it seems a long wait until the 12 wk scan which my midwife had suggested would come next... I would ideally like one in between too...around the 10 week mark. I am worried about asking for another scan though, I know that if things are OK at this next scan, they wont think it's needed. Then again, it's my body and our baby and it seems reasonable to ask I think? my only worry- do scans do any harm to the baby at all?...i have heard some say that, but my midwife assures me they are ok
p.s. I have been feeling sick on and off throughout the day now...not throwing up...but definately queasy, and with the queasiness comes the waves of cold shivers still. Did anyone else have these shivers? I am not sick otherwise (ie, no flu )
Possums - I'm not sure what you are thinking in terms of care going forward, but we chose to go with an Ob and I have a scan every time I go to an appointment (every 4 weeks). My first appointment was at the 10 week mark - so I got a scan then without expecting it. Then the next was 12 weeks (NT) then again at 16 weeks (OB) then 19 weeks (20 Week scan) - Due another one at the next OB appointment next week.
Otherwise I would suggest asking your GP for a referral - have as many as you want - in reality it is your body, baby and money so I say do what makes you feel good.

Thanks Nixon..I am going to make an appt to see my OB in the coming weeks. But I will only see him once or twice. I then have to go into the public clinic at the hospital from 12 weeks...that's the way it works here... no private deliveries, therefore they say no private care after 12 weeks, but that you have to go to the clinic for visits after that.

GTT results are in :leap: no GD so we had a piece of cake to celebrate :) Have taken a day off today beacuse my iron is low and I feel really tired. Photoshoot was exciting hoping for some great pics and Miss C seems to be moving around it feels really nice I do wonder what she is upto

Possums - Ta hun! I've heard they're not great but bubbas are very resilient..and I don't think we give them enough credit. Many many many women on the other hand have had them & ended up with totally healthy bubs. It might even put your mind at ease...I know it did me! I haven't had the shivers..just slight queasiness..comes and goes from day-to-day and meal-to-meal unfortunately :rolleyes:
TL - yayayayayay! Can't w8 to see the photos of lil Charlotte!
AFM - Feeling really good..tho when I get hungry its not a gradual thing..just all of a sudden BAM I am starving and feeling sick if I don't get something in to my tummy ASAP! A few other stressful things are taking my mind off any queasiness I may have anyway..ie step son moving away & my mum still organising herself. Hopefully things will calm down a bit very soon.

Rara - his tanty lasted all of a minute - one thing i'm well aware of is that i have a stubborn streak and i'll out-stubborn any kidlet! it didn't take much the yesterday - i think O is just too used to people giving into him - didn't work with me. i have no issue threatening to remove something and then, shock of shock, ACTUALLY removing it. only have to do it a few times with most kids and they learn. somehow i'm not sure it will work with ours though - with both DH and i being red=heads, this kid is going to have one huuuuuuuuuuuge stubborn streak!

Rara my MS was like that the nutritionist says it was beacuse I was letting my Blood Sugar dropping too much and I needed to include some snacks

Rara, I'm the same with hunger. Once it hits, it really hits and I need to eat straight away. I do find snacking in between helps especially btw brekkie and lunch.

A bit of a selfish post today, but I will be back in to catch up on everyone's news shortly:
Had my 30 week check up today and all is well. Baby growth is on target and HB is nice and strong. Bubs is still head down and the OB thinks they will not move now as there is not much space where their head is… so looking like they are in a perfect position (hopefully) for a natural birth! I found a lump under my left arm which kinda freaked me out a little, but the OB has checked it and apparently it is at the very end of my breast tissue and quite a normal change with pregnancy (phew). My tail bone has been hurting a lot when I am sitting down which again is normal as your tail bone shifts in pregnancy and you basically end up sitting on the end of it! The only way to relieve it is to sit on a heat pack (not such a great idea when it is 37 degrees in Melbourne!) I have been getting a bit of swelling (heat related), but my blood pressure is perfect at 110/70, but I will keep a close eye on the swelling. It only happens when it is hot, so I am sure there is nothing to worry about.
I asked the OB a question that has been playing on my mind a little lately (a little bit of a stupid one) – what happens to your bodily functions when you are in labour? I was freaking out a little about all that pushing and what else could come out accidentally! Unfortunately, the answer I got was not pleasant (although urinating apparently is rare as your body uses up most of the fluids in your body as if you were running a marathon) and I have decided this giving birth thing really is a “dirty” business. But the OB has assured me that it is perfectly natural and that he is used to it after 30 years of delivering babies (seeing as he will be the one sitting down the “business end”). But… YUCK! I guess you sort of leave some of your dignity at the door when you give birth and I’m sure if it happens it won’t seem like a big deal at the time, but… YUCK!

Janie - I hear ya on the poop thing.....apparently the midwives are very good at pooper scooper-ing and whisking it away before you even notice. Apparently whilst in labour you will not even know that you have done it *sigh* - not only do I feel the size of a house (I know - I'm only 24 weeks along), but I get to poop in public when I give birth.

hi ladies had my bt yesterday at 6 weeks and leves were approx 15 000, i dont know what they mean by approx but thats what doc said on the phone but my progesterone is only 25? so going to GP tomorrow as he wants to see me perhaps he will put me on supplements, im still spotting on and off very little though and no pain, still quite nauseus so i hope my little one will stay and i make it through the night, do u think the low progesterone is the cause of the spotting also is the HCG sound right? i never got past 9000 HCG last time aroung so i dont think its a blighted ovum. im just very nervous

Just a quick and selfish post from me but wanted to let you know that are DD EVA (short for Evangeline) was born on the 13 the of Jan by CS she was 3.37gr and 53 cm long (another tall one :) ) Not bad for 38 weeks. Had some fluid in her lungs and spent some time in special care but she is doing great. We just got out of hosptial as i had some problems with my CS scar but other than that we are great and very tired :o So i will try to get on again to catch up with eveyone!!

21, GL with your trip to the GP tomorrow. I am on progesterone pessaries twice a day because I had spotting early on. They're not pleasant but the spotting stopped as soon as I was on them. Hopefully your GP has a plan of attack or at least some reassurance for you to put your mind at ease. Stay positive!
