Big Congrats on your baby Girl Scooby and on your little man Numa
congrats scooby and numa!!
janie- yay...glad all is so spot on. And I also hear you on the poo thing...i have thought the same thing myself when thinking about how it will be to give birth one day
rara- hope you are feeling ok and not too queasy
21- the hcg level sounds fine...they vary a lot and what matters more is the rate at which it is rising and you need more than one BT to see that ..pessaries might help keep your progesterone up
:cheer: welcome Eva glad you and Mum are doing well
congrats scooby and numa on your little arrivals
Hi everyone,
DD is quite settled today so it's given me some time to come and catch up in the thread. I've been thinking of you all even though I haven't posted since the birth :)
Won't do any personals, but just wanted to say that I hope you're all feeling well, and that you're enjoying great belly rubs and minimal aches and pains and minimal m/s.
And congratulations scooby! I hope you have a wonderful time getting to know Eva and that she is settling down well after her time in special care. Hope you're continuing to recover well from the c/s and the scar is not giving you too much trouble anymore.
Take care everyone - you're in my thoughts.
Miss C
morning - sorry selfish post today. I haven;t felt the rascal move for approx 24 hours and heading to the hospital now. I should have listened to my gut and gone yesterday. I have a bad feeling about this.
Scooby...so so happy for you hun. Congratulations Hun!!
Numa... you too hun, such great news. Congratulations.
Very proud of you ladies!!
AFM- ok nto a great day because we foudn out that we might be eligible for the Baby Bonus...which was going to pay for our Home Birth...oh dear...this is getting frustrating.
Love to you all
HM xoxo
Nic I  that your little rascal is just hiding from you.
yes - thanks Nicole - rascal was hiding. it took a while to find the heartbeat too, but it was there good and strong. I thought I'd dealt with my issues about my SIL's still birth she had at 40 weeks - maybe I need to work on them some more.
on the up side - the private hosp. we're booked into were brilliant. Told me to come straight in and I went straight to the birthing suite and straight to the doppler. No waiting and worrying (well, no more than I already was). They said to call any time and that they would see me when ever I needed to - very reassuring.
so glad all was ok Nic - i get stressed if i don't feel bubba for a few hours too - so far the longest has been about five hours, DH could see how worried i was, so he set up the doppler and found baby - i was too shaky - i'd be a mess if it were 24hours!
Thank goodness everything is ok Nixon... these little one's sure do like to keep us on our feet!
Big congratulations to Scooby and Numa! Wonderful news about the safe arrivals of your little ones. Can't wait to see some pics!
HM - all the rules have changed with the Baby Bonus as of 1/1/9. Now means tested and also not paid in a lump sum any more. I think it is paid in 13 fortnightly instalments. I'm sure that the universe will find another way to bring you what you need xxx
Miss C - lovely to hear from you. Hope you are loving your time as a mummy.
21 - I'm no expert on HCG numbers further along than about 4-5 weeks, so am probably not much help. I agree with Possums though - the main thing is the rate of the rise. As long as they continue to rise - that is good. In regards to the progesterone - really push for some pessaries. I was on them up until I was 10 weeks pregnant (due to my pregnancy being a HRT FET). They will help to support the pregnancy until the placenta takes over.
Hi to Nic, TL, Possums, BG, Kaydee and everyone I have missed!
AFM - all is well. I'm so glad to hear that other people are a little freaked about the whole pooping thing! I had a discussion with my DH last night to make sure that he didn't freak out on the day if it did happen. He is so sweet - he joked with me and said that it is the one day in my life that I can get away with doing anything. So I am starting to feel a little less anxious about it!
Hope everyone is well.
Janie xxx
HM - baby bonus is payable if your combined income in the 6 months after birth i less than 75k, and you are in Au on an appropriate visa (or Au resident/citizen - not sure your status since you've been o/s for a while!). it's payable for any baby born in Au...
Yeah - I was pretty stressed yesterday and this morning - got dropped off for work by DH at 7 - googled normal movement at 25 weeks - freaked out - rang the hospital - rang DH - he came back to get me - and off to hospital in peak hour. Thank god for the private hospital and not having to wait in emergency to be seen.
I think part of my issues with SIL is that I maybe refuse to believe that it could strike twice and that we are not blood related. They never found a reason why the baby died - she found out the morning she went into hospital to be induced that there was no HB. She still had to be induced and give birth. It was heartbreaking. I'm not normally a worrier, but then I started thinking what if I leave it another day and we find out tomorrow that there was no HB and knowing that I did nothing. *Ugh* it's too much to bear sometimes.
The midwife did reassure me that the movements would change as the space available gets less and that the bambino can have upto a 90 minute sleep pattern. So, I might be sitting there waiting for something while the baby is asleep - then I go off and do something and the baby wakes up and has a bit of a move around then back to sleep - then I start trying to feel movement again. You know what I mean?
Anyway - I've only had one very slight bump since the hospital and one more just as I typed that, so I'm feeling better.
X
Nic, so glad to hear that the little rascal was hiding and all is well and that you are feeling better and I hope the movement kicks up a storm for you today
I think we all have fears until bubs is out and am sure even then the worries never stop.
Janie, good to hear that your DH can handle to pop thing.
I guess I never thought of it much but I guess if it happens the OB and nurses have seen it happen more than once.
AFM, 21 weeks today  I have started feeling June Bug for about a week on and off. Such a great and strange feeling...almost feels like bumps in the dark.
I don't know if you can feel them turn at this stage but yestersday afternoon WOW had the strangest feeling on the left side of my belly.
The weirdest is when you can 'see' your belly jump - freaks DH out.....HAHAHAHA
Ha ha....can't wait for that to happen....and what's with the hair that grows on your belly....
Pregnancy gotta love it but gee the hormones are a wonder...
BG - Hmmm....yes unfortunately I see parents giving in to tantrums all to often...but sometimes it can bey very difficult not to when you have to look after them day in & day out.
TL - I think I have been a bit naughty. Just with mum moving etc I just haven't been getting myself as organised as I should have!
Kaydee78 - Ahhh the nanna naps...can't do without em'!
Janie71 - Awesome results! Birth in general sounds pretty yuck if you ask me (other than the result!). O the joys! Sounds like you are getting everyone prepared tho...lol.
Nixon - Oh hun thank god! What a scare for you tho! Now go & treat yourself to something..you deserve it!
Numa - Congrats! Thanks for letting us know TL!
21andTTC#1 - Thats a pretty good result on the HCG but maybe get your dr to keep an eye on it. In regards to the progesterone..it should be over 30 so suppliments sound like a good idea. It may well be the low prog that is giving you the bleeding as progesterone is one of the hormones that helps seals up the uterus. Fingers crossed hun!
Scooby - That is tall! So gr8 to hear that your lil one is doing well.
Possums - Feeling better than a couple of weeks ago! Tho still have painful wind (sorry about the TMI).
Miss C - Definately make full use of the quiet time! As it appears you are. Good girl for thinking of us on bb..lol.
HM - Every dollar counts! I hope you are able to get it hun. Keep smiling xx
AFM - Feeling quite good. Went to see my fs yesterday. She was so happy. I guess you would be cause this is the ultimate result for her! Not having a great time at work but won't go in to that here. Work has been a big thorn in my side every since I was moved from the section I was totally happy in 6 mths ago!
xx
NicoleS - yeah I am like a hairy gorilla on my belly.
Rara - Try not to let work get to you. I think that has been part of my problem the last couple of days. I think baby can feel my stress levels and is keeping quiet because of it. Find a way to relieve the stress for your sake and the bub. I haven't had AP since before chrimbo - I think that might be part of my problem too!!
X
nixon - it doesn't matter if it's a relative, a friend, or someone you simply know of - it will mess with your head. i have two work friends that gave birth at 2 and 25 weeks respectively, 12 months apart - and i'm petrified of being the next one at work to have it happen! it's rare, but i sat with both of them before their babies arrived and it just plays on my mind! it's not that i think it will happen to me, but it's always there kwim? it adds to my stresss (esp when i'm having ouchies or quiet time from Gremlin!)
BG - I hear that - about not having to be blood related. The calm birth classes really helped my stress levels in terms of connecting with bub and breaking down some of those walls that I had put up to protect myself from those painful memories. Early on I felt like I knew the baby was there, but I didn't let myself love it - just in case.
I was feeling really confident and calm before christmas - I was doing AP regularly and my calm birth cd's regularly and I have let it slip. Work has been busy, we're getting the floors sanded in the house, new kitchen next week. excuses excuses. We're literally living, eating, sleeping in our bedroom at the moment and it is a bit claustrophobic. Think I might kick DH out tonight and tell him to go catch up with the boys while I have some me and baby time.
sounds like a great idea nixon!
i've found i need some time without DH at night so that i can connect with bubba properly - if he's home, and she isn't kicking (or is kicking where he can't feel it - i feel bad for HIM and i tend to not just enjoy it... think i'm getting over tired too - his hours have been hinky the last 10 days - need normality back!
Nix - Good idea for you sweetie Miss C quitened down at 24 weeks OB said it was beacuse her brain was developing which I thought was sooo cool :)
Miss C - So gald Emily is doing well
Rara - great to have you here hun so glad you are well
HM - I am going to qualify for BB in Aus so give me a call on skype got some details yesterday on what I need to do.
BG - Can't belive you are 21 weeks already wow! (I am not going to say is it flying by because I disklike that)
Me:
My little darling is active and I love it just wish I could have a window to look in. I have less than 2 months of work left and then hopefully I can start my WAHM life and not go back to the corprate world unless I want to take on a short contrat bring on working in jeans :leap:
Hi ladies,
Sorry I've got a cold, so feeling crappy and trying to pull myself together to get through work (think I have spent all of my sick leave with IVF and spotting episodes).
Anyhow, congrats to Numa and Scooby..... how thrilling for you both!
21, your HCG is great... your P4 level might be the cause of the spotting.. hopefully your GP could remedy that.
HM - how are you going? Have you decided about where you want to be.
AFM, Had my first OB appointment and he was great. My bub is doing great and although no kicks as yet I can feel him/her internally through very strange sensations. Have been listening to Mozart (apparently it suppose to help the development of our babies). DH is treating me like a queen and I think I have developed a Queen complex as well with him (been bossing him about quite a fair bit!).
Belly rubs to everyone else (sorry I don't have much time to catch up with everyone).
Scooby - huge congratulations on the arrival of Eva!! :happyforyou:
So glad to hear that you are all doing well, although sounds like a difficult start. Sorry she had to spend some time in special care, that must have been hard. I hope you're healing up well now and enjoying your beautiful baby girl!!
Numa - huge congratulations to you too hun on welcoming your little boy into the world!! :happyforyou: I hope he and you are doing marvellously and you and DH are enjoying your new family!
Devon

hi everyone..
Nixon- so glad everuthing is OK and I can understand your fears..it's wonderful the private hospital was so good too...I must admit, I really wish I had the option of private care here
Kahlan- glad the appt went well and you are receiving queen treatment ;)
TL- glad charlotte is nice and active and only 2 months or so of work to go...yay
BG- hope you arent too tired and get some decent rest soon
Rara- glad you are doing well but sorry work is a pain for you ...hope that gets better
Janie- glad you feel a bit less stressed about the yuk bits of giving birth
HM- hope your stress levels arent too high
nicole- 21 weeks...wow...cant believe you are that far already
afm- bit stressed this week...just agitated PMT feeling...snapping at DH and also was having trouble deciding whether to go for a scan on friday, then hopefully again at 10wks and 12wks...or delay scan until next week. I think the reason is, it's getting close to the time we lost our last one, and I am getting anxious and couldnt work out which scan (ie sooner or a week later) would bring more comfort or assurance (assuming there is still a heartbeat) if that makes sense. DH told me I will probably stay nervous regardless until we at least get to 12 wks, then I can calm down a bit..i guess the hormones aren't helping. Anyway, I left it booked in for Friday...and think I will go see our OB for the first time next week too...I hope he is happy for me to have the extra scan...anyway...i had been keeping a bit quiet because I didn't want to blabber on on here, but anyway...I think you all understand  I just want Baby Hope's heart to keep beating
Possums Oh sweetie that feeling is normal
TL- thanks...I have been feeling like a crazy woman this week and am totally distracted at work....oh, to be innocently happy and pregnant for the first time, after a short time TTC...i see women who are like that, breezy and cruise through their pregnancies...
Hi Possum, I think after everything that you have been through last year you are feeling completely normal or as you put it a crazy women.
I think that if you stress your worries with your OB next week he will do his best to accommodate you.
My OB is fantastic and even when my visits are every 4 weeks he said for me to call his office and book an early one if I feel like I am getting stressed with worry.
At the end of the day your health is most important for the baby and doing whatever needs to be done to keep your stress levels down is in the best interest.
Sorry for the waffle
Hi all
Sorry I have been MIA - we have been so busy with being interstate and we only got back very late last night. It has taken me until now to quickly catch up with where everyone is at, but I am sorry that I don't have my head in the right space for personals at the moment.
So what follows is a very selfish rant post...
We had our first appointment with the midwife today, she works out of the OB's office. When I arrived I was told that my appointment was last week and by inference I had made a mistake, which was absolutely not correct as I distinctly remembered the phone conversation with the midwife and why she had set the appointment for today. And I use an electronic organiser that absolutely all of my appointments are entered into along with reminders so I don't forget anything, and I even checked the paper I had written it on when I got home - I hadn't made a mistake. And then I couldn't see the midwife because she wasn't here today! Then I was told because I hadn't shown up at the appointment last week all of my OB appointments had been cancelled because "someone" had told them I wasn't going to use her services. I was getting more and more angry by the moment, luckily DF was with me and he took over talking to the receptionist and I sat down and seethed quietly. They found me a midwife to see, so after filling out the mountain of paperwork, I told them I was going to the toilet and then we could meet the midwife. She seemed quite unsure about what to do. Eventually she told us this was her first day at the practice; normally she only works in the hospital! Then she tried to listen to our baby's heartbeat using the doppler and could only find mine. She also tried to measure my findus but gave up! I am by this stage feeling very confused and worried - why couldn't she hear our baby's heartbeat when it was so strong at the 8wk scan? She then asked me for a urine sample - HELLO - I had just been to the toilet 10mins before!!! AAHHHH!!!
I managed to squeeze out enough for a sample, then we were finally sent back into the reception area and waited. In the meantime, the OB (who we haven't seen yet) was talking to the midwife about me/us. Next thing I know she is writing a referral for another scan to be done ASAP, but only if we want too (WTF?). Oh and the final clincher - she will be overseas when our baby is due! Would have been nice to tell us that when we booked in 2 weeks ago!
I anticipated that the once we had the midwife appt that we would finally have someone who would be looking after us and giving me some level of reassurance and support. But instead I came away wondering whether my baby is even still with us and whether we should be looking for a new OB. I have heard good reports about this OB and have been told that is difficult to find a good private OB here at the moment because of the baby boom that's going on... I am so confused and stressed and worried, all of which I know is bad for our little Gizmo... Should I keep the scan appointment I have made for Friday afternoon, or leave it until the 12 week scan on 2/2?
OK, rant over and done with. Hopefully you ladies can offer me some sound advice to help relieve my worry.
xx
Chez, what a big stuff up! Firstly, I wouldn't be concerned (easier said than done) about not hearing the heartbeat. For one, that woman didn't seem to know what she was doing, and two it is likley it's still too early. My Dr said he wouldn't even attempt to find it at my 10wk appt. I had an appt at 16w and the midwife said she would only attempt to find the heartbeat as long as I wouldn't get upset or stressed out if she couldn't find it, because even at that stage it can be hard to find.
As for the scan, if you are finding yourself really worried after your appt then it may be worth doing for some peace of mind. You need to ask yourself if you can handle waiting another 2 weeks without it causing you to much stress or anxiety.
Oh Chez I would be making some calls  so sorry to hear this has happened I would go for the scan and then see if I can find another OB
Devon - Wowwwie only 5 days hunni take care and relax!! :)
Hi All,
Firstly a big CONGRATULATIONS to Scooby and Numa. I hope you are having an amazing time with your precious little ones.
I know it seems to be the case of "Missing Bel" lately!
I'm still here though, quickly reading daily but just have so much on I can't get my head around posting.
Have had some family problems over the last couple of weeks that have taken a lot of my time and drained me emotionally.
In just under 2 hours I'll hit 17 weeks. Am still so amazed at the gift we have been given of these 2 little babies. Lots has been happening with my body. I am really getting big now..absolutley no doubt to anyone that I'm a mum to be. Last night my BB's started leaking..like through my top, so I had to get some booby pads today (I know you are probably thinking the same thing as me...at only 17 weeks!!???) Have been a bit concerned the last few days about some discomfort I have been feeling down really low. Feels like a bad bladder infection but I've had my wee tested and it's all ok. Spoke to the midwife today and she said the sudden pressure on my bladder could be causing it as I have really got big very quickly, but if I'm worried to call back. Have decided if I'm still feeling like this in the morning I'll try to see my ob tomorrow. I really do know my body now and would rather get checked out.
Still getting these amazing feelings inside where I know our babies are being nice and busy and moving lots. Just can't wait to feel it from the outside and for DH to feel it too.
Sorry for the most selfish of posts. I do think of you all every day and come in daily to check on you all.
Hoping everyone is going well and all babies are happy and busy growing strong inside their mummy's tummies.
Night all
Hugs Bel
xx
Hi Bel :)
My BBs starting leaking colostrum week 16 of my pregnancy, and I've heard that around that time can be quite common, as your prolactin levels start to pick up a bit more then. I was only leaking at night time in bed though. It lasted the rest of the pregnancy. You get used to it, and hopefully it will mean plenty of colostrum when baby arrives, and with lots of sucking a good milk supply, if you want to/can breastfeed! It did for me.
Congratulations on getting to 17 weeks, hun! Not long til halfway there!
Hi Everyone -
Where does the time go? I find time to read everyone's posts everyday but not the time to reply !!
Congratulations to Numa and Scooby !!!!
Welcome to Rara - wishing all the best for a H&H pg
I'm sure I won't remember everyone but thinking of you all...
Belle - great to hear from you , hope you are feeling better today and don't have to go to the OB
Kahlan - hope your cold passes soon, they really can make you feel like crap
Nixon - what a scary 24 hours but huge releif to know everything is okay
BG - I know what you mean about needing some 'alone' time, between work, family , DH it seems there is never time to sit down and stare in wonder at my belly!
TL - i can't wait to be able to feel our little Fredbear (family nick name) rolling around inside - must be amazing
Possums - hope you are doing okay. Re the scans, I'd go with your gut feel, it is a hard one to decide but go with what you want
Chez - what a crappy OB - I'd look for a new one, you can always go back if you don't find anyone you like better but it might put your mind at ease and I'm sure you'll get better treatment
To all the lovely ladies I've missed, :bellyrubs: to everyone.
AFM - all seems to be ok. MS still strikes in the morning and if I forget to eat for more than about 3 hours which is annoying but oh well. I've had some dizzy spells lately probably due to the heat and forgetting to eat often - I'm sure I'll get the hang of it before the 9 months is up!
I haven't been able to tell if I can feel any movement yet, I get 'tugs' but think it is just everything growing and moving around. Belly is starting to show and most clothes don't fit, just happy I like dresses and have a lot that are accomodating of the bump! Next scan at 18 weeks, only 12 sleeps to go :)
Take care everyone,
LNB
There is so many to reply to but I hate missing any of you out! Great place tho to catch up on everyone at the same time!
Nixon & BG - The anxieties of work began to diminish a little yesterday after I had a good chat with my supervisor. I love my AP and can't wait for her to finally get back from holidays!!! Calm birth cds..never heard of them but sound wonderful! Will have to look in to getting a couple!! Pg hormones - vital but can make your life hell (as well as others around you..lol). In regards to connecting with bub I'm beginning to realise that at this stage it can sometimes be a difficult..strange isn't it? Once I feel it move etc I am sure it will start to feel even more real.
TL - The prospect of going on mat leave in 2mths must be sooo exciting!!!!! A new adventure begins...hooray!!!
Kahlan - Poor thing! Sounds like you are having a bit of a rough time. Go DH! He obviously is treating you as he should be! Us women tend to be a bit bossy (sorry just speaking from own experience here lol) even when we're not pregnant so he should be used to it shouldn't he? Hehe.
Devon - Not long now!!!
Possums - As do all of us hun! A short fuse is probably all part of the worrying process & I am sure ppl who love you & who know what you have been thru understand completely so are prepared to put up with you...lol.
Nicole_S - In total agreement! Stress I believe can be worse for the bub than the actual scan!
Chez67 - What an awful experience for you! Why does it always have to be our mistake? In my opinion..keep the Fri arvo appt..it would put my mind at ease especially after your experience! And I would also look into getting a new OB..the staff supporting him/her obviously don't know exactly what they are doing or how to treat the patients with understanding & care!
Bel - Haven't forgotten you! Just replied to your post in your blog!
LNB - Thanks sweetie! The heat has been an energy sapper for me too! Though we just got installed today a air-conditioner! Hooray! I am exactly the same with my nausea..was ok until the 3hr mark came around..then I am straight away starving and nauseaous! Blah!
AFM - Had a bit of a scare yesterday. Saw lots of bright red blood. Went for a scan. Bub looking beautiful and healthy. Measured now at 8 weeks yesterday! 1.5cm, 167bpm. Had a bt this morning for prog level..now we wait. Only have light spotting this morning which is a great sign.
Mwa xx
Rara - Scary re: the blood, but you sound like you are taking it all in your stride. Hoping that your results give you nothing more to worry about.
Calm Birth is a birthing technique similar to hypno birhing. The CD's are a part of the course - I can highly recommend the classes if you are planning for a natural birth.
X
Rara- glad all was good at the scan and hope no more bleeding from here...hope you are doing OK
Nixon- i intend doing those classes
afm- having a scan tomorrow
Rara - Scary re the blood but reaching 8 weeks puts the odds in your favour sweetie
LNB - Tugs and Flutters were my first signs of movement so sounds wonderful to me
Bel - :leap: on 17 weeks
Me getting more and more tired but getting there
