Yes! Lismith, I think it's common for blood pressure to drop in second tri, which could explain it. But go see your doctor anyway, hey?

Hi ladies. How are we all today?
Any more prgress Jo?
Sazz - Sorry to heat that you are feeling a bit stressed with your family. Big hugs to you
Lismith- It is probably best just to go and see your Dr and make sure everything is fine. Let us know how you go.
Kimbe - Well hello there Mumma Jugs lol.
Ltl Panda - Woo hoo on finishing exams. That must be a relief.
Zap - Any news from your scan? I have been thinking about you and hoping everything is ok?
Hi everyone else. I hope you are having a great day
Lis - yep, it's prob low BP and it is common. The midwife told me to increase water intake, never get up too fast (i.e. jumping off the couch unexpectedly to answer door/phone, getting out of bed in the morning), and to make sure i stick to healthy eating regime, including fruit, veg and grains, and of course the preg. supplements which have iron etc. Good luck with it.
Oh Nic, if DH attempts to mention anything about playing with empties there'll be trouble! LOL
Hi Girls Just a quickie from me. all went ell at the scan and M/S has returned with a vengence!
KT!!!!!! TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey girls
Monnie, so glad to read that Felix is doing so well, really excited for you.
lismith25, I believe it is a common thing, I too get it frequently, it can also happen if you are low on iron....
Kimbe, yay on the leakage, my sister was telling me that she started too, she too was very excited.
The wrist pain is more severe in the morning, DH has to put my bra on as I cannot rotate my hands to do it. He has become an expert at doing my bra now. Well I think I have signs of my first stretchmark appearing, not happy but hey, beggars cannot be choosers…. My belly is not even that stretched yet , my sisters on the other hand looks like it going to rip, and there is not one sign of a stretch mark….Anyone else????
Zap, So glad to hear that your u/s went well yesterday, great news :)
Ltl Panda - ouchies at your wrist pain! Are you putting anything on your skin for the stretch marks? I'm thinking of getting the Palmers stretch mark cream when I get near the shops next week.
Jo, How are you going? Any more niggly pains?
Nic
Hello all well im back from the docs...and the diagnosis low blood pressure, and enlarged thyroid all baby related, all pregnancy related which I guess is good. Only startling thing which I had completely forgotten about is that women who suffered from PCOS are more likely to develop gestational diabetes!!!! so now I have to have blood work tomorrow to check my glucose levels.......I am so upset already had a bout of uncontrollable sobbing  the thought of not being able to conceive naturally and now to possibly be diabetic has just floored me.
Oh well I guess the good news is that there maybe a reason for feeling like this and I just spoke to my boss and he was so good about it, telling me that his mum developed g/d with his brother so he is an expert!!! I wasnt expecting that I tell you.
Sorry for the rant:redface:
Hope your all well - oh and kt congrats on the double bubbies
Oh dear Lismith. I'm glad you went to the docs but sounds like you got a 'list' of things from him. GD and thyroid problems brought on by pregnancy do tend to go away after though.
It's not fair, is it?
I didn't know about the GD-PCOS link, but I spose it makes sense. I also had thyroid problems and family history of diabetes so will be getting myself tested - no symptoms so far thank god. I should probably stop eating so much chocolate and sweet stuff...
Zap - great news on your scan. Sorry you're feeling so crappy though. I know it's little consolation, but it will get better. Hang in there and pop in when you can.
That's awful about your wrist Ltl Panda. Glad your DH can make himself useful though - I bet he really likes helping with that part of your dressing.
Oh and good luck with those stretchmarks. I use my normal moisturiser - I understand there isn't much you can do about preventing stretch marks...
congrats on the mumma jugs Kimbe!
well, i'm listening to my new collection of classical music, as randomly selected from a discount sale by DH. supposed to make baby brainy or something...
hope you're all doing well
Hi ladies! Just wanted to introduce myself. I recognise a few of you already, and look forward to getting to know the rest of you.
I am 8wks pg today, after conceiving with ICSI.
I've found the last few weeks a bit of an emotional roller coaster, as haven't felt overly pregnant, so was sure something had to be wrong, but after my 1st scan showed a nice healthy heartbeat (just the one), I am feeling much happier and more confident. Since then, the symptoms have started to set in for sure. Tired, hungry, MS (not too bad), moody, huge bb's, bloated to the max, etc....
Mako and Monnie - congrats on your bundles of joy! I hope all is going well for you. Sounds like you're doing GREAT!
Zap and Ktgirl - TWINS! Congrats to you both. Double the FUN! That's really exciting!
Ltl Panda - well done on finishing your exams. Now you can focus on setting up that nursery. Have a ball doing it won't you. I can't wait to get to that bit.
DJ - belated b'day wishes! Hope it was a nice day. Sounds like things are getting very close for you. Wishing you HEAPS of luck for a safe delivery when the time comes.
Nic - congrats to you too! Best of luck for your u/s next week. Seeing that little heartbeat for the first time is so precious. I'm excited for you!
Lismith - well done on reaching your 2nd trimester. Hope you're feeling well.
Marcellus - hope you're well and that you managed to find some decent mat wear.
Kimbe - a gorgeous girl on the way. That's fabulous! Have a ball shopping for her!
Lenny (still not used to your new name, but I'll get there) - how soon 'til you have your house to yourselves? That will be nice. Enjoy! Have you started your nursery yet?
Sazz - I've been wondering how you're going. So good to see all is going well, and you've not got long now. I do hope things settle down with your family.
Hopefully I've not missed too many people, but anyone I have missed, a big hi to you too!
Have a lovely weekend all.
Arielle
WooHoo Arielle!! So good to see you here :) How fantastic about your u/s too.
Not a lot happening here with me, feeling rather tired all this week. I think being pregnant at 20-21 is a different experience to this time round being pregnant at 29. Maybe I just didn't notice it as much with DD?
Nic
Welcome Arielle, and congratulations on the ultrasound......hope all your dreams and wishes come true for this little bean inside.
Nic, I have been packing so much stuff on my belly, I made my own coco butter body cream with 100% coco butter, I have used the palmers belly butter, I have stretched to the max oils, you name it I have used it..... hopefully what looks like a stretchmarks will email faint and not develop into one obvious one.
Not much for me, we have been working on the house this weekend so we have been busy, baby G is just playing away without no fuss.....on my bladder all day long.
well hope you spunky chicks are having a good weekend, talk tomorrow.
My goodness girls we are getting busy in here! Great isn't it!.
Thanks for all the well wishes for my freak out scan and returning M/S. i went for accupuncture and am feeling a little better.
Arielle- Welcome luv! we have very close with due dates!
Ltl Panada- Good luck keeping the strech mark at bay! I had to start using normal mositeriser as the smell of the palmers and bio oil makes me want to spew!
KTGirl- How are you and the two little miricales going? When are you going to start organising everything? I am not sure but will have to be a little sooner than usual i guess being two.
Marcellus- Hope the classical music pays off!
Lismith_ Hope all further testing goes well but I am sure all will clear up after birth.
Ltl Panda_ Sorry to hear about your wrist pain. i had a cousin with the same problem and she ended up in tears most days over it.
To everyone else a big hello and chat soon..
Take care
Racheal
Happy Monday girlies
Congrats Arielle another member to add to the brood...I feel positively old school now and it wasnt that long ago I was the newbie...my how things have flown.
Marcellus - thanks for your support in true hormonal style I feel better today, with results pending I feel more able to cope with whatever comes.
.....and I think I may have found the culprit. Upon putting on my work clothes I have found that in just 5 days I can no longer do up my work trousers :wall: Maybe I had a growth spurt and the body just couldnt move that quickly to compensate. Make that now less than 2% of my wardrobe, that is now a viable option.
Anyway am primed for a manic monday to make up for having days off last week.
All of you have a great day :hello:
Hi All
Just wanting to send some gentle L.Vs to Jo. Not too long untill your due date hun. Hope your little princess gets the message soon ;)
Welcome Arielle. I want to wish you all the best for your pregnancy.
Ktgirl How are those little twins of yours? Hope the M/S isn't too bad now. Has your dh got used to the idea of 2 bundles of joy yet?
Lismith Hope your Monday isn't too hectic for you. LOl at the growth spurt. Get used to those hun.
Ltl Panda Hope the wrist sorts itself out soon. How did the work on the nursery go?
Monnie What a clever little boy Felix is. I bet once he starts talking there will be no stopping him.
Sage is doing ok. We had a bad night on Saturday. He was awake from 2am and was still sceaming at 5am. Needless to say I was like a walking zombie yesterday. Oh the joys of bubs lol. He did sleep better last night though. So I can function a bit better today lol.
Hi to Lenny, Marcellus, Zap,Sazz, Nic and anyone I've missed. It sure is good having so many people in here now.
Take care
Welcome Arielle and congratulations on your pregnancy and first scan - it's great to see that heartbeat, hey? Such a relief. Hope all is going well for you
Lismith that sucks - time to go shopping i think.
Nic, I hope you're not trying to suggest you're old at 29... ;) Cause that makes me slightly older.
Ltl panda, how's your wrist?
I had a lovely massage from DH last night - had no idea my back was so sore and tight. posture's gone to hell i suspect.
Mako - hope you get more sleep tonight!
Hope you and bubs are doing well DJ
Hi to everyone else and take care
Oh no Marcellus, most definately didn't mean it that way :) I think I just feel way more tired (and feeling older) now than I did 8 years ago, and I was even working full time then, as opposed to being a SAHM now!
Hope everyone is well, will catch up with you all later :)
Nic
Arielle - welcome and congratulations - 1st ICSI too! How great was having the scan done hey!
Lis - i'm with you on the clothes, there's no evening preparation anymore hey, it comes down to only knowing once your out of the shower each morning...good luck with maternity shopping given it's kinda on the cards.
Ltl Panda - hows the CPS in the wrist going?? Is there any relief for you or are you just having to try to not to use your wrist/hands (not that i think that is possible!)
Mako - 3hours of Sage tears must have been overwhelming, glad to still have you in here with a happy face so to speak
Well, i had my 24wk visit with the midwife this arvo, and my BP is back down again, so don't know if that's the weather/heat or what, but i'm not too worried. Though, then she listened to bubba's HB and it was quite irregular, moved from fast and "good" to slow and inconsistent. The midwife was great and we listened to it for about 2 mins (what a long time that is) and bubba was moving around and some slight kicks during that time, but the Midwife decided to speak with the dr about it - just incase. Anyway, he's requested a scan at 32 weeks, which i'm pretty sure is common anyway for us ivf bubba's (isn't it??). DH was there and really good, I'm trying not to become too worried - she's still moving around like she's performing on stage!
Anyway belly rubs to everyone, hope your well, particularly those of you tackling m/s, i hope it improves for you soon.
Hey Mako
Sorry to hear about the tough night with Sage...glad that you were able to catch some more sleep!
I think the first 4 weeks were the hardest for us and then things really began to settle down. The first night we got home from hospital, he cried for 6 hours. I got the best advice from the ABA helpline (at 12am!!!) which was to find a comfy armchair, put some blankets around me and hold Felix all night in order that he can get to sleep...it was fantastic!!! Not only did he fall asleep but I also got to experience his sleep cycle and get to know all the little sounds he makes at night.
You're right about Felix being a talker...he prefers to have a chat rather than feed at the moment...it's very cute!!!
Hope everyone else is doing well...
Jo...all the very best chickie!
Arieele...welcome!!!
Hi all,
Super dooper busy ATM, but i wanted to say that i love when Monnie and Mako post. It makes this pregnancy seem more like the start of my journey to being a mum - rather than just all about being pg. I love your little stories and they make me realise all the time that I will be there soon too.
Thanks guys :)
Thanks Lenny!
I'm never sure whether I should post here or not...but it's where I feel most at home!
Totally agree with you Lenny, I love it when Monnie and Mako keep us posted on the development of their little one.
Kimbe, I too am scheduled for a scan at 31 weeks, I think its common thing....well mine is due to the fact that I have a low lying placenta.
Poor Sage, and poor mum for having her sanity taken away.... hope you are feeling much better today Mako.
Lismith, the baby does go through growth spurts, I remember I was like that at the start, and than its just a constant change.... Its funny i still wear my usual pants, I just have to use an elastic band to hold them together.
Zap, I am glad you are feeling a lot better after the treatment.
Hello to everyone else, hope you girls are doing just fine.
wrists are still sore, just something I have to put up with.
talk soon.
Monnie Thanks for letting me know that the first 4 weeks were the most difficult for you too. Makes me realise that this is all "normal".
We had a really bad night again last night. Poor little Sage was so out of sorts that we only manage an hour and a half sleep ALL night :( Needless to say my eyes are hanging out of my head. I know that he is just uncomfortable as we had to take him to the physio yesterday and he has both his little legs in plaster for a week as he has what is called Talipies which is caused by me not having enough amniotic fluid and thia has caused his feet to turn in as the muscles on the inside of his feet are very short and we need to stretch them out. We tried to do this with tape for the first 2 weeks and that didn't help so thats why we had to get plaster on them to help speed up the process.
Lenny thanks for letting me know that you like to hear how we are doing now that our bubs are here with us. Although I do hope that the lack of sleep isn't scaring anyone away lol. It really is worth all the little hiccups along the way.
Hope you are all doing really well.
Yeah - don't leave us Monnie and Mako!
Sorry I haven't been in for a while girls. This M/s is getting the better of me at the moment but it is all for a good result. At least I know that my bubs are doing well. They just keep saying hi to me neumerous times a day when I have to be sick lol.
Mako- I hope things settle down with Sage for you soon. Poor little guy having his legs in plaster. Hang in there.
Arielle - Welcome and congrats on your BFP.
Ltl Panda - Hope the wrist pain eases soon.
Hi Monnie. Glad to see you still popping in. Definately don't go anywhere.
Kimbe - Glad to hear that everything went well at your app. I am sure the scan is just a check up and all will be fine.
Zap - Glad to hear everything is fine and the M/s is back. I have booked in with my Ob for my first app and also booked in with the hospital. How about you?
Sorry to all the lovely ladies I have missed. Hi to you all and I hope you are all well.
Belly rubs girls :bellyrubs:
Ktgirl Sounds like the m/s is giving you a bit of a hard time sweet. It is a very reassuring sign that your little bubbas are doing great in there ;) Just try to eat frequently as thats what I found helped. Take care
Jo Haven't seen you around for a little while. Maybe thats a good sign that your little princess has made an appearance. If not here are some more l.v's for you :D
Sage is doing a little better and we have figured out how to get some sleep :) I have put him into bed with us after his feed around 2am and he sleeps for a few hours in my arms.I always swore that he wouldn't be in our bed but I'll do whatever it takes while he has the plaster on. He is really uncomfortable as he still tries to pull his legs up and then he starts crying cause he can't do it.
We have an appointment with a lactation clinic tomorrow as I have a cracked nipple(ouch) and Sage will only attatch properly sometimes. This is a very common problem with premmie bubs.So I'm looking forward to getting that sorted out too.
Hi to you all. I will catch up on more personals later :D
Ohhh Mako, poor Sage, was not aware of the little problem he has...... I hope it will all be over soon....Its very interesting though as I have never heard of Talipies. Hope you can get some rest too.
Ktgirl, can totally sympathise with you, not the best feeling....I hate the fact that Its not just a morning thing, it just goes all day.
well I have a counselling session tonight for the donation of my embryos, yes another one, its taking a while as the clinic has never donated the embryos to a known couple while the donator is still pregnant....very frustrating stuff. The clinic had to do some research on the legislation and that is why it is taking so long, and in the end even though this is my DNA and DH, we seem to have no rights, as they are still going against my wishes…..will let you know how I went.
KTgirl...sorry to hear about the m/s...like Mako said, try and snack regularly...I certainly found it helped...but hope it resolves soon...your little ones must be growing beautifully!!!
Ltl panda...all the best with your appointment tonight.
Mako...yep...the first 4 weeks were certainly the most difficult. It really does get easier. Poor little Sage with his legs in plaster...that must be really tough. All the best with the lactation consultant...ouch...a cracked nipple! You poor thing! I'm sure all these little bumps in the road will resolve really quickly...
Good on you for figuring out a way to help Sage sleep more. I so work by the mantra "whatever works!". I swore that I would never use a dummy...that lasted 1 week! Felix is such a 'sucker' and the dummy is the best thing for him...
Marcellus...how you doing?
Lenny and Kimbe...how you doing?
Jo...all the very best...maybe "she's" arrived!!!
Zap, Arielle, Sazz...hope all is going well!
Hope I haven't forgotten anyone!
Monnie Good on you for using a dummy. I also have given Sage one aswell. He loves to suck his fingers so I said its much easier to get rid of a dummy later down the track as you can throw it away and you can't throw fingers or thumb away lol. Sage settles a little easier with a dummy too. I find it very useful when I'm changing his nappy as he's a little screamer. Hates being undressed, nappy off etc. I'm sure that'll change as he hits about the 2 year old stage as they love to be naked about then lol.
Ltl Panda All the best for your appointment tonight. Sure sounds like you've been through alot with the embryo donation. You think you are doing a generous deed and then the authorities make it very difficult. Anyway you and dh are doing a fantastic thing by donating to another needy couple. Well done.
I had better go as I have a dr appointment for Sage. He is looking quite jaundice again so I want to get him checked out. He also has a very tender spot on his groin from his plaster so I want that looked at aswell. This poor little boy is having a tough time atm. Lucky his mummy and daddy love giving him lots of cuddles and kisses.
Hi all,
Hmmm, so Jo's been quiet...I am anticipating a BA very very soon. Ohhh, cool!
Arielle - i knew you'd get here eventually - I hope you are cruising along nicely.
Mako - hope your little guy is OK. A bit tough on you - but i guess he won't remember anything.
Had my final exam yesterday. Ahhh, now i can try to get my life back in order - at least for a little while anyway. My BP has dropped a bit...but it's still OK for now.
I'll go and catch up on everyones posts now.
Just dropping in quickly, we had our u/s yesterday and all is good. We saw the heartbeat and DH is super stoked! He has had the hugest grin on his face and I'm sure it will still be there when he gets home tonight. He keeps calling me 'two heartbeats' lol.
We told DD too. She took about half an hour to come round to the idea, but is excited now and has been asking questions non stop.
Our FS is retiring, so he won't be our OB :( We are having another scan with him in 4 weeks time, which turns out to be his last day. He said he will let us decide which of the other 2 OB's we would like to see and he will write out the referral, but it will only be good for about 3 months, and then I'll have to get another one.
I still have to be on the pessaries and progynova and provera. He gave me enough to last me until our next appointment with him.
Hope you are all well, have to dash and get DD from school
Nic
Boy its hot out here in Melbourne.
well the counselling session went well, hopefully this will be the end of it and the embryos will be given to the lovely couple. Baby G is moving so much, it feels so strange in my belly, it looks Alien as its always moving around.
Yay last exam Lenny, that is great.
Mako, hope your little prince gets better, its not the best start for the little fella.
Monnie, well you look like you are doing pretty well, hope it stays that way, take care of yourself, are you healing ok?
Ltl Panda...yeah...I've healed pretty well. Thanks for asking! I ended up developing a 'keletoid' (not sure of spelling) scar...one of the raised, red ones...but I bought this special silicone healing strip and have been wearing it every day for nearly 3 months and it's worked wonderfully. It was expensive ($95) but worth every cent....called "cira care" (I think!)
So glad to hear your appointment went well...I didn't realise that you were thinking of donating your embryos...what a beautiful gesture.
Mako...hope Sage is okay. You have such a rough trot. Just think how resilient your little trooper is going to be!!! Felix got better with his nappy changes...initially HATED them...but now is pretty good...I think his personal challenge is to see how many times he can squirt me in a day!!!
Nic...wonderful news! So great! Sorry to hear about your FS retiring...we changed obs. at 33 weeks and I was amazed how quickly you can develop a good relationship with them...so hopefully you'll be fine!
Lenny...yay on the final exam!!! Well done!
Hey guys...I was thinking of speaking to the moderators and asking whether they could make a BALTTC section (baby after long term trying to conceive)...I don't know about you but I really treasure the online connections I have made with you guys and found that due to the LTTTC issues, really have alot in common...more so than my belly buddies group. It seems such a shame that after the baby, we can lose our connection unless we continue to post in PALTTC...and I don't want to hijack the thread with baby stuff...when the pregnancy stuff is so special and important.
What do you think? Would that be a thread that you would be interested in joining when baby arrives?
Let me know...if there's enough interest, I'll get in contact with the mods.
Cheers to all!!!
I think that's a good idea Monnie. I'm sure none of us mind you guys sticking around, but maybe a baby-related thread would be good. I'd sure like to keep up with the PALTTTCers.
And glad to hear you're healing up well Monnie - those gel thingies are expensive hey? I've used one before (actually didn't really need it, was just in case). They seem pretty good though.
Glad to hear your scan went well Nic. Too bad about your doctor, hope you get a good replacement.
Hope no more issues with donating your embryos ltl panda - they should really try and make it easier, you'd think. It's been warm here too. thought i was going to pass out the other day driving around in 39 degrees (no air-con in car...). gah. best just stay at home
Hooray on finishing your exams lenny!
Sage may be having a hard time, but he's lucky to have such loving parents! Really hope things get better for him - poor little tyke.
Hope you're doing alright Kimbe after your apppointment. Still lots of movements from your little girl?
Hi to everyone else - take care.
Mako - sounds like little Sage is having a baptism of fire with life out of the womb! Hope the lactation specialist went well for you, cracked nipple sounds very ouchy!
Monnie, nice idea on the BATTC
Ltl Panda - wow on the embryo. I recall you first mentioning it in here and i was blown away at the enormity of such a gift. I didn't realise it would actually happen so fast, I hope for the couples sake things go well.
Ktgirl - hold in there mate, i know m/s can last, but my fingers are crossed that it gives you some relief soon
Lenny - congrats on finishing the final exam...i only have a week to go of residential school (which is next week) with 2 mini assessments due during the week and then its over!!! You must feel great, particularly being able to focus more on other things now
Marcellous, yeah our little girl's still rockin' away. We can actually feel exactly where she is now and were playing with her last night. DH said i was provoking her though i prefer to think of it as playing. LOL. And I guess its fair to say we're not too worried about her HB concerns just yet, like Panda said, it's common for scans at 32weeks. How are you doing??
Well, DH and i are off to Batemans Bay for the weekend with his brother, wife and their 2 little ones, so i'm both nervous and excited about the whole going to the beach with the pg body look, but soooooooo looking forward to a night away. Hi to everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Hi girls. Yay it's Friday and the weekend is here woo friggin hoo!!!!!!!!
Monnie- We love hearing what you are up to but I also thing a BALTTTC is a fantastic idea then we can keep up with all of you!!!
Mako- How are you going. I am glad to hear that you found a way to get a little sleep in the morning with Sage.
Ltl Panda - Wow on donating your embroys. That is an amazing gift that you are giving that other couple. I hope it all goes smoothly for you from now on.
Kimbe - Have a wonderful weekend away. Enjoy being on the beach with your beautiful belly. I am sure you will be stunning.
Marcellus- How are you traveling along with everything?
Nic- So glad to hear everything went well with your scan and you saw the beautiful heartbeat. Shame about your Dr but I am sure your next one will be great too.
Lenny - Woo hoo on finishing exams. What a relief that must be.
Has anyone heard from Jo?
Hi to all the other girls. I hope you are all well.
Monnie I think the BALTTTC thread would be a great idea. I also feel like I'm hijacking this thread at times. I know everyone says they don't mind, but I do feel like we need a place to talk baby stuff ;)
LOL at Felix squirting you. Sage does the same thing at times but I've learnt to keep him covered lol. He actually got the dog the other day and the look on his face was priceless(the dogs face that is):cryinglaugh:
Our appointment went really well today. Sage decided he knew what to do as soon as we went into the room lol. So the nurse was very impressed and she kept telling me that I was doing a fantastic job considering all we've been through. Its very nice to be told these things every now and then cause I do find myself doubting this at times as I'm sure is all very normal as a 1st time mum.
We also got the results of the blood test from yesterday and the level of jaundice is up a little sice we were in hospital so we need to get another test done next week to see how things are going.
I have a feeling that Jo may have had her little princess. Does anyone else feel the same????
Kimbe Enjoy your weekend away hun. Don't worry about the pregnant body on the beach lol. I'm sure you look beautiful ;)
Ltl Panda I hope everything goes smoothly with the Embryo donantion. How's the wrist going now? Hope its improved for you.
Nic All the best in finding a new Ob. So pleased that your scan went well too.
Marcellus Thank you hun. You are such a sweet woman. How is everything goig with you and your precious little bub?
Lenny Yay on finishing the exams. You must be so relieved. Hope the blood pressure is ok hun.
Ktgirl How are you and those special little twins going? Hope the M/S is easing for you.
Hi to anyone I've missed. Hope you all have a great weekend.
ladies,
I thought I'd better jump in now re a BALTTTC thread. This suggestion has been made to the moderators on a few occasions previously, the first being when I used to inhabit this thread myself, not long after it was first started.
One of the reasons we don't have a baby buddies for LTers is that if we did one for you, we would have to for the Clomid girls, the M/C girls, the Late Loss girls... etc. You get my point.
Another reason is that we do believe, esp the mods who have been LTers before, that an LT mum has no different challenges than a mum who conceives naturally, once baby arrives. While you may not have mixed with the regular belly buddies during your pg because of the unique issues associated with being a pg LTer, we believe it's the right time to assimilate with your respective baby buddies group after the birth, as it becomes less about you and more about your baby in your posts. This is the time when you should be exposed to mums of all shapes, sizes and circumstance, as well as be able to talk to mums who have babies of the same age as yours. In a BALTTTC thread, you would have mums of babies of different ages, and this serves no real purpose except to keep you together.
We know it's hard to leave those familiar to you behind. I kept in touch with the people who were here with me for a long time after we all had our babies, and I often popped in to post here and there (as you girls sometimes do in the LTTTC forums) but in time you do move on. There is support for you out there once your baby arrives, and yes, even more friends to make. It may seem like we're being arbitrary in our decision but it's been discussed many times before, and we agree that we won't start baby buddy groups that extend from specific forums, mainly for the reasons stated above.
If anyone would like to discuss this more, please do email me about it. My email address is sushee@bellybelly.com.au
Well ladies sorry I haven't been on for awhile but you know I just had to go have a BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's right she was 2 weeks early & she is beautiful (of course).
As you know my birthday was on the 6th Nov & then the next day I lost my mucous plug & that night started getting contractions (not b/hicks these ones hurt) they went all through the night so I did not sleep at all.
I phoned hospital & they said have a bath because it was too early to come in so here I am having a bath at 3.30 in the morning & spent about 2 hours in there, boy was I wrinkly.
About 7.00 in morning I put my tens machine on & then finally we went to hospital at 4.00 in arvo.
I saw quite a young nurse who said I was 7cm dilated but when my dr came at 7.00pm he said I was only 4cm dilated so that was very disapointing but I should have known because I was coping well with the pain.
Dr broke waters at 7.00pm & then the pain really kicked in, I wont tell you girls how bad it was (unless you want to know) but needless to say my little princess was born Friday morning at 12.58 the 9th November.
I should mention I did have a vaginal birth with no stitches but I have bad grazing which I'm not sure why they call it grazing because it basically has torn so sitting down is quite an effort, sorry if tmi.
She weighed 7lb 1oz (that was plenty big enough thank you) 49cm length & she has lots of black hair which could explain my reflux.
We named her Jenna Maree.
Mako - I can't find anything to fit her so I don't know how you've managed with Sage & I read something about him having plaster on his legs, what happened ( I don't have time atm to go through all the posts.)
I will catch up again & let you know how we are going as soon as I can & I hope that everyone is feeling wonderful.
Jo - 28 (treated endo)
Dh - 34
