Nicole S - Hope you are feeling better. I'm waiting to get the cold that is doing the rounds in the office. We have people here who love being sick - love telling you about it and then cough right in your face as though to prove how sick they are. So gross.
BG - I'm hearing you on the reno and knowing it has to be done and not having the energy to do it. We're replacing the kitchen, sanding the floors and carpeting the bedrooms. Hopefully before Christmas. I spend about 4 - 5 hours on the couch on Sunday - I'm just too tired to get up and do anything. Oh well, that's why we have DH's....hehehe.
Shan - I hope the kids come out soon - you must be getting a bit over it. Good luck.
TL - Hi hun, how was your weekend?
To every one else - howdy - I hope you have a great week ahead of you.
AFM - We went looking at prams at the shops on Sunday. Not to purchase, but to find out which one we found to be the easiest to pull apart/put together, weight, etc. Basically so we can keep an eye out on e-bay.
Anyway, We got carried away and ended up spending about an hour and a half looking at cots, prams, blankets, baby bjorns, toys everything. So, right in the middle of David Jones I start bawling my eyes out. I think it was the first time it felt real and good. More real than any of the ultrasounds.
We have been saying to each other - let's not get carried away just yet, lets wait until we look for this or that. Let's not buy any toys until after the baby is born. We'll do it the scottish way (we met in Scotland) they don't get any gifts until after the baby is born.
Story behind the us wanting to wait til after the birth: About 3 years ago) my sister-in-law (DH's brother's wife) was 10 days over due and went to hospital to be induced. The midwife had been to visit 3 days earlier and all was fine. When they go to hospital during the pre-induction checks - they found no heartbeat. SIL still had to be induced and endure labour knowing her baby would not be alive at the end of it - her beautiful baby boy Charlie. There was an autopsy and no reason found as to why his heart had stopped beating. I don't know how she survived it. She does now have a gorgeous little girl called Lily, but I don't think the fear will ever leave our family of this happening again. you know what I mean?
So, anyway , on the way back to the car - we'd managed to resist buying the cutest blanket ever - I saw a knitted blue toy horse in the window of a store and I thought f*** it!! And I bought it and I cried again and I'm crying now because it is the first thing I have ever bought for my baby.
Anyway - all good.
Have a great day.
X
