Hi Trish, Thanks.
I had a look at your web page and saw your beautiful babies! How lucky you are!
Did you have 2 eggs put back? What sort of IVF did you do?
yes 2 @ 6 day blasts - they are fraternal - we did normal IVF - DH :sperm: were good swimmers :smt079 -on stim cycle #2
and one less thing to worry about - was your DD concieved on your cycle#1
Yep - we were very lucky! I was on the injections for 3 weeks as my follies weren't growing - in the end we only had one viable egg and no sno bubs. So next time around we will have to do a full cycle. :(
Carrie,
You're proof it only takes one egg! Little Kyla is proof!
I still have one 5 day blast in the freezer, and DH and I have decided that we'll have that one transferred in May 2007, all going well. It's not the best blast, only having started with one pronucleus when first observed, so the chances are slim if anything. But we don't want to leave any soldier behind, so to speak! But aside from that, we're not going to go back to IVF or try for any more children. So this will likely be my last pg. And I've only got slightly over 3 weeks left at most! #-o
My sister dropped off a box of baby clothes so my mission today - should I accept it - is to go through the box and decide if I want any. I mentioned before that my sister smokes while carrying her baby and initially I declined all her offers of clothes. But these have only been worn while her bub was a couple of weeks old, before my sister started smoking again, so I've said I'd have a look.
Hope everyone is well. Skye, caught sight of your new av! How fab!

Skye, lovely preggy belly av.
Rose, hope u get to have a quick u/s at ur aptmt.
Carrie, nah it's all good, not pre-ecl as no protein & BP is fine. Nope, this is our 1st too. I got the majority of the clothes/linen from garage sales, got some real bargains if i dont say so myself. Also some clothes/toys from friends/relo's for xmas.
Wow, success with 1 egg on 1st IVF go, awesome. Was my first AIH. Hope Kyla like's starting solids. :-)
Sushee, that's great news on the clothes. U never know, like u said, it only takes 1. :-)
Mel, I see u'll be full term as of tomorrow, so could be anytime over the next 4wks now, very exciting.
Yay - I'm back!!! Wow I've missed you guys. Everything is good at our end finally. We got home last Thursday, way too long in hospital but to cut a long story short Noah had jaundice and was then on antibiotics for an infection from my waters being broken for so long (will work on my birth story!), he also lost a lot of weight because of feeding problems - breastfeeding is SO HARD! Anyway we are home now, back up to birth weight and going well. Can see why sleep deprivation is used as a torture method!
OK - L&B storu very quickly. Membranes ruptured at 7pm on the Thursday night, had light contractions from 2-9am getting to 8 minutes apart. Midwife arrived and contractions stopped dead... Got to 7pm Friday night and because it was now 24 hours since membrane rupture we had to go to hospital to be put on antibiotics. Got there about 11pm and hooked up to monitors etc. Had some fairly regular tough going contractions all night, some one on top of the other but still going nowhere. Labour was all in my back so felt like Noah was trying to come out my anus!! Wouldn't you know it contractions stopped again in the morning! Went in to be hooked up to syntocinon drip at 11.45am (2cms dilated by now) and laboured until 7pm, an internal here showed I had only dilated to 4cms. I had a breakdown here as I thought I had been coping so well, basically they needed to crank the drip right up - contractions became too much after no sleep for two nights so called for epidural. Laboured for another couple of hours but another internal showed no further progress and Noah's head still moving around a lot trying to find the way out! Was now 50 hours since waters broke so wheeled into theatre for c-section. Was a big relief to get him out and see that he was perfect. They were laughing in theatre at the size of him and the fact it took a couple of goes to get him out via c-section! All in all it was about as far removed as possible from our original birth plan but still a positive experience to finally have our wee miracle in our arms.
Anyway I will write up my story properly soon but that's our labour in a nutshell.
Hope you guys are all well - look forward to more prcious babies arriving over the next few weeks.
XX
Awww Amy I am so glad to see you back!
Sorry to hear things didn't go to plan but what a huge relief it must have been to have him here safe & sound!
I just love the name Noah & I hope he is doing well after jaundice & infection.
Rest up & can't wait to see some piccies of your baby :boy:
Thanks for my preggy av comments ladies. I was going to wait till 12 weeks but couldn't hold out
Have a great day everyone :flower:
Hi Girls,
Just a quick post before I jump in the shower. I posted yesterday but something was up with the forums (I know one of them was showing the current year as 1970 so that can't be good). I believe Kelly was working on them overnight and they seem to be back to normal now.
Skye, yes that is a lovely avatar. Does it seem more real now? =)
Amy - wonderful to see you and to hear that you and Noah are going well. My, what a story! I'm only glad it all worked out well in the end.
Talk to you ladies later ... I'll be back for more personals.
Love,
Mel
:cheer: 14 days until we meet Mel's little William! :cheer:
Morning all,
Amy, OMG it's so great to see you back! It sounds like you have had a trying couple of weeks, but it's so good to hear you're home now and settling in. I can't wait to see pics of Noah, and to read your whole birth story. It sounds like you went through a lot in labour, so it's fantastic that you're so positive and happy.
Skye, I got my pg av at 10 weeks too. How can you wait? It's too exciting!
Mel, the countdown is well and truly on for you. Only two weeks until your due date! I check everyday to see if you've posted. Are you going to sms one of us to let us know when the big event happens?
As for me, had a bit of a horrid night last night. Bub, who's usually incredibly active all day, must have decided on a four hour sleep yesterday evening, coz I didn't feel one movement in all that time. We LTTTC women just don't take that sort of thing well, already having high levels of paranoia. At about 11pm, was near tears wanting to go to the hospital to get checked out, but DH calmed me down and got me to hop in the shower. I had a cold shower coz it was so hot here in Perth even at that time of night, and that obviously woke baby up, coz by the time I got back into bed at midnight, bub was awake and doing somersaults. Phew! Then of course I couldn't sleep well the rest of the night, constantly waking to see if bub was moving.
The little tyke is busily having hiccups as we speak, so in the light of day, I feel kinda stupid, but I'm putting down to last tri madness, and that's the story I'm sticking to!

sushee
 to you sush i hear ya on the paranoia glad bub stsrted to play by the rules and ease your mind
my wee one has so kindly decided thati haven't had enough worry either i've been having BH/ contractions since 4.20 am this morning every 5 to 6 minutes the pain is decreasing now which is good in one way but if i were to go into labour today i say
Bring It ONNNNNNN
how much practise does ones body really need ....... i mean come on i have done this before ... ](*,)
whats a make a bet i go 2 weeks over due ](*,)
Amy, great to c u back & now doin well, holdin out for the pickies & new ticker.
Sush, ur gonna be a wreck if u dont get some rest, hope u can get some rest today... :-)
Shazz, hope bub's stays in a bit longer for u though, so u can all go home together.
I am ecstatic (and still amazed and in shock) that we have "almost to infinity" nt results, which is as close to perfect as you can get.
Woohoo \:D/
WTG Sheree i'm very pleased for you both \:D/
Awesome results Sheree, I was wonderin how u were doin. :-)
Wooohooo Sheree! Excellent news!
I've got a date tonight to go see 'Menopause the Musical' with MIL and wouldn't you know it, getting loads of BHs, and am getting even more exhausted now than after last night's cr@p sleep.
DH is saying I should cancel, but just can't do that to my MIL. Oh well, here's hoping I enjoy it so much it'll be worth the late night!

Hi!
Amy – So happy that you and Noah are well and home, hope that you’re getting some rest when you can, the sleep dep can send you crazy!
Sush- That’s great that you still have one sno bub! And you never know your luck….I can’t imagine having 5 kids!! Hope you enjoy you’re night onece you get out.
Shell, Shazz, Mel and Skye – hope you are all going well. Shazz- I hope also that bubs can hold on a bit longer for you (a lot less stress for you and as Shell commented, you don’t want to have to leave your bubs in hospital…so hold on if you can!)
Sheree- that’s great re: the nt result. It’s always a relief!
Excellent news Sheree \:D/
Mel - any niggles or news for us ?
Hang in there Ryan - Shazz hope you are feeling better !
Hi Trish - How are you doing today??
Hi again lovelies,
Sheree - great results on the NT scan ... it's such a relief, isn't it?
Sushee - glad to hear everything is okay after your scare last night. I'm hearing you on the hiccups. Some people just love their amniotic fluid! It's good about the clothes too ... consider it a peace offering from your sister if that helps.
Trish - I read your update thread about the bone marrow story. I'm on the registry too and have never been contacted in all that time (16 years now I think it is). How amazing that they happen to find a match now! I can understand a little how you feel about the situation ... you want to help but it's just bad timing and the circumstances cut very close to personal experience in your case which must make it hard. I couldn't believe the coincidence.
Well the sun has just gone down and there have been no further changes today. Just me sleeping a lot and having bouts of nausea and Braxton Hicks intermittently.
The TENS machine is easy to use (those of you who were interested) so I can highly recommend trying to get your hands on one. This one was hired through a physiotherapist but apparently some hospitals have them or if not, they can direct you to somewhere where it can be hired. The cost is also recoverable on some private health insurance plans apparently.
I'm looking forward to trying it out. They say that the sooner you start using it in first stage, the more effective it is as it floods the area with endorphins which will help counteract the pain of the contractions. It looks expensive so I hope I don't end up throwing it across the room.
Two new photos are now on Willmartin's website. One is of his bed and the other is of my gut. I was just comparing this shot to the other ones DH has taken previously and there is a BIG difference. I should post some of the earlier ones for comparison (provided you can stand the sight of me in my pyjamas, looking washed out).
Hope you are all doing well and I'll chat again tomorrow.
Love,
Mel
PS: Sush, sorry I forgot to say that Hayseed has kindly offered to let everyone know when WM arrives so keep a watch for her post! Thanks for asking though.
Carrie - I am doing well - eating very well ;) and enjoying this bit.
Mel - I have been on the register a while too - the timing is bad I just hope [-o< they have another match for the person. Dad went through a few rounds of chemo first before they finally decided on bone marrow (stem cell) transplant -then they took a while checking if his siblings matched -only 1 of 5 did.
My friends DH was a match for a child with leukemia and donated bone marrow. My uncle gave Dad his peripheral transplant of stem cells (like blood transfusion) - they gave Uncle injections for a few days to pump up stem cells production - then extracted them via blood collection machine (?) but friends DH was full on GA and bone marrow extraction from hip I think. I was just on phone to her but we got cut off before I could ask. Busy talking other stuff ;)
Hope your TENS machine works a treat and you soon get to put it to use.
Yaye Sheree on great NT results! \:D/ \:D/
Mel,
Yay on Hayseed keeping us informed. I had visions of you disappearing and the suspense killing the rest of us!
:cheer: Only 13 days until we meet Mel's little William :cheer:
Taking DD to work, will BBL!

I'm back!
Mel, I just realised looking at your pic of your pg self that I don't actually have any pg pics of me with my head in the shot! If not for the tattoos, you wouldn't even know it was me! Could be anyone!
I love your photo, you look so serene, not washed out!
Thanks also on the info on the TENS machine. SJOGM's physio hires them out, and teaches you how to use it. I will look into it. DH brought home some info on hypobirthing as well, which is done through SJOG Subi, but I told him I think we've left it a little late for that!
On another note, last night I dreamt that I went into labour while my MIL and I were at Menopause the Musical and she had to drive me to the hospital. I told her the contractions were too painful for me, and that I wanted to go back to the theatre. Just then I woke up, and was actually having a huge, painful contraction! A bit of a shock, I tell you! For a second, I thought that this was it! It didn't reoccur though, just a few uncomfy BHs after, but I remember the first thing I thought was no, I'm not ready! I still have three weeks! I want my three weeks!
Lol!

Just back from ob, so updating, but can hear the echo in here...so quiet!
Dr reckons he's sure I won't go early now. He reckons I should get to 38-40 weeks, but probably not over (famous last words) He also is pleased with bub's growth, and reckons it will be a good sized bub, not overly big either. His guesstimate is 8lbs or so at term, which sounds good to me.
BP was 115/70, so still nice and low. He laughed at my waddling though!

Gee, it is quiet in here!
Great photo's Mel...I bet you can't wait to have your beautiful liitle one in the bassinet.
I just read your web page and you had me in tears re: pusster.
Sush-I'm glad all is going well and that you're likely to get your 3 weeks.
I've been shopping today with Kyla and my sister. Kyla has turned me into a shop-a-holic, I love looking at baby clothes, toys....baby anything really. I bought her a blow up rollng tube - I can lie her on her tummy on it and roll her (an attempt to get her to like being on her tummy). Also got a shade for the stroller.
Hola Lovelies ...
Sush - LOL at your dream!! Our minds play havoc with our bodies ... or is that the other way around? I'm glad your doc thinks you will go closer to term. I really hope you get your three weeks! And yeah, how do we know that the belly with the butterflies IS really you? =) Thanks for not thinking I look washed out in that photo ... wait till you see the others!
Carrie - Oh I love shopping for the baby too so I understand. I'm fixated on mobiles at the moment ... can't find one under $80.00!! Any suggestions?? Thanks also for your feedback on WM's website. Dear old Pusster ... not a moment goes by when I don't think of him. I can't imagine when that will change.
Gee, it is quiet in here, isn't it? I wonder what everyone is up to? I've been scrubbing the bathroom and having my toenails painted by someone else but I don't know about the rest of you. Hope someone will check in today.
Have a great weekend. Still more lovely weather in Melbourne ... I can't believe our luck! I'm thinking Willmartin may end up being too warm in his little coming home outfit. I may just have to go shopping again!
Talk to you all later.
Mel
Hi Mel - Have you tried Target or Baby bumting for mobiles? Kyla has a cow on a long spring that you hang from the roof. It's above her change table and she absolutly loves it - it was from baby bunting.
DH, Kyla and I are off to the mornington penninsula for the weekend to stay with my mum and dad at a time share. Should be fun and great weather for it!
Hope everyone has great weekends!!
Talk to you Monday
Hello everyone!!
Mel I have a baby Einstein one here that I never used for my DD (didn't match my colour scheme how anal is that  ) anyways it is yours if you want it, was over $100 new & is lovely but just not my taste. Will try & send a photo if you are interested.
Hope you are all well, Sush lol at your dream  won't be long till we are on Sushee watch ;)
I have my NT scan on Monday, can't wait to see my lil bebe again \:D/
Mel - are you accepting LV ? I can't believe how close you are.
The photos look lovely btw.
How a lovely day - Carrrie at Wiggles \:D/
It has been very quiet in here lately - we must all be
Justine is on holidays. Where is everyone else ?
It will be so lonely in a few weeks when you all deliver your precious cargo. Bring on lots of BFP please [-o< for girls in LTTTC - especially Nola & Chele in 2ww. Shez I am not sure about ?
I am sure there are others but I don't know them all yet. There has been an influx of newbies. The odds are they must start on in here soon.
I saw Kelly W (twins) beautiful belly shot and you should check it out . I just can't imagine being so huge. You have to go to twins threads to see.
Skye, Rose & Didge where and how are you ?
Sheree how are you ?
Shazz - how are the BH today .I hope your BSL's are good.
Sushee - how it the little'un and your DD ?
Hello to all our MIA Mummies !
Skye - sorry I posted at same time - goodluck for NT scan yay on 12wks .
[-o< for Keen to get in here very soon too.
I am 5 months today !
Thanks Trish & congrats on being 5 months today!
I have finally started working on a website for bubs. I have loaded a few pictures, the ultrasound ones aren't great as I don't have a scanner here. I can't manage to get the photos in the gallery the same size either :-k
Ive been quiet because Dh has been home and its all out war for the computer when he is.
Yay congrats on 12wks Skye!!! We both have our NT scans on Monday, how exciting although Im not sure when I'll be able to update. I have to work in the arvo and then we're having a bqq that night. Im sure I can scrounge up some time to post pics.
Feeling good except Im having problems with my arms and hands aching and swelling. Most days its mild to moderate but some days its a huge pain. Might make an appointment with my GP for Tuesday morning to see if we can find out whats wrong. Shouldnt be blood pressure, its always perfect :-k
Good luck with your NT on Monday Anna!
Hope you get the swelling/aches sorted out :-k I had carpal tunnel with my DD, wonder if it is similar?
Carrie, WTG on the shoppin. I was just talkin to a friend yesterday who's nephew was born premmie & is now 7mths old too (3mths adjusted), he was 1pd6oz born at 24.5wks & is now 7pd11oz. :-)
Melbo, wow u look so good in that pickie, i've not only put on my belly but everywhere else too, u only look to just have the belly. :-)
William's bed looks so cute. I got my mobile (rabbits, to match in with looney tunes) at BabiesGalore, was $40, most were $30-40.
Sush, it's funny the dreams we have huh & sometimes such wierd ones, crazy preggy hormones, LOL.
Skye, we'll be waiting for the good news & pickies on Mon & what a cute lil tum u have now. :-)
Anna, you too on ur scan. It's probably preggy related Carpal Tunnel, which can be caused by the swelling, blocking the nerve, I couldnt wear any rings from late 1st tri, just have to try to elevate hands when can. Hope ur doc says its nothing serious. It should all subside shortly after birth when all the fluid does. :)
Trish, awesome, b4 u know it u'll be at 8-9mths.
Well had my last day of work on Fri, so am now officially on leave. My supervisor asked if I'll be up for another wk, I politely declined. :)
Got another pizza lunch, another pressie (beautiful baby scrapbooking album) & cakes in arvo, spoilt, hehe. Then wouldn't u know it, supervisor sprung us with some last min work 4:15pm in arvo to do with daylight savings. I was still tying up loose ends on a job that has to be handed onto someone else, so didnt get out until 6pm or so & still hadn't finished, so got to take my laptop home so I can get everything off it & someone else can drop it back at work on Mon.
 Isnt carpal tunnel bad??????????????
I was thinking it could be my thyroid, I had similar issues to this around 2 years back which is why we decided to TTC as they thought it was the pill causing it. Quite obviously not that now ;)
Ugh I just know this pregnancy is going to drive me up the wall, I will get every complication known to man ](*,) Im already at high risk for eclampsia and GD.
Anna, preggy related carpal tunnel generally disappears afterwards, so should be fine. Yeah my thyroid is swollen too & gets worse at night, so snore & have trouble breathin & keep wakin myself up, DH has resorted to the spare room so he can sleep, LOL. I had carpal tunnel b4 preggie though & had surgery on worst hand Dec04, got bout 75% relief from that, but then preggy makin worse again, but should go back to what it was b4 preggy, so dont be too concerned, unfortunately just another preggy symptom. :-) It just means u have swellin blockin the nerve, which runs thru the carpal tunnel (hole in wrist) which causes burning,swelling,numbness,pain,stiffness... My hypothyroidism is controlled with tablets though so thyroid swelling is just a preggy symptom too, along with my facial & feet swelling, no sign of pre-ecl, which is fantastic. I really hope u get the all clear & that it doesnt eventuate to anything, but yeah definitely discuss with ur doc. :-)
Carpal Tunnel isn't too bad. What it is, in your hands you have fluids & it moves round alot when you're pregnant and you get swelling the fluid can't move round as much causing you to have sore wrists & tingling in your fingers. It can help to wear a wrist brace overnight or before gettting to that stage rest your hands on pillows so they are higher than your heart. It gets worse because you aren't moving your hands when you sleep - do you find it worse when you wake up in the morning? Also try to rotate your wrists keep them moving while you're up, it will hurt at first, but after a few mins of rotations you can really feel the difference. The good thing is that within a week of delivery (at least for me) it goes away. No consolation when you have it though.
Hi everyone, I'm back from my holiday. I had a quick scan of old posts and looks like everyone is still here. Not long for you Mel - next month is going to be very exciting around here.
Well, I'm well and truly buggered. Had a lovely 6 days up the north coast but we got the tail end of the Queensland storms so didn't get to swim much (lucky for the surrounding people - no-one needs to see my big white butt at the moment, but my belly is pretty sexy). DS loved it but has increased clinginess 10 fold and I'm starting to worry how he'll cope in 4.5 months. Back to day care dramas this week I guess. I'm looking forward to seeing my OB on Tuesday as it's been 2 months. I think I shall get him to check between the legs again - just to be sure ;)
Time is flying isn't it girls!!! I'm a bit like you Sush - this is my last pregnancy and I want to enjoy it and last forever. Once they're out they grow up so fast. I have 2 embies on ice and don't know what to do with them. We only ever wanted 2 children but I feel like these little ones are part of us and can't let go of them. What should I do?
I did get some great news whilst away. I got a call from a competition I had entered to win an ultimate kids backyard - includes sandpit, swingset, trampolene, basketball ring, infaltable pool, cricket set, cubby house, supa soakers. YAY!!! Isaac will love me when I get it.
I've got to go to bed so will check in again tomorrow.
Geez Humph I could have typed that myself! We also have 2 on ice & don't know what to do. I thought this would be it for us but DH has said he couldn't possibly leave any behind. We will probably go ahead & have them put back in when this one is between 6-12 months old.:
My first thought was to donate them, but I am hesitant as they are embys not eggs, I am sure I'd spend the rest of my life eyeballing every child that walked past thinking they looked like us!
Good luck in whatever you decide to do!
What have others done/suggest we do?
