Oh, just thought of what I came on to ask you Lise/ Mitf/ Seph - are you on the raspberry tea yet? When do you start to take it (if indeed you are doing?). Have you heard anything bad about taking nettle tea? This book recommends it but as above, I thought I'd ask someone else first....
(I've decided that I'm not eating well enough hence the sudden interest/panic in nutrition) Bit worried child will come out as a milk and cookies chocolate bar
Yes, one hour of bliss, so looking forward to it! And I'm off now for a pedi so my disgusting heels don't put me to shame - I want to spend my belly down time relaxing not stressing about what the masseuse thinks of my feet!!
Not taking rasberry leaf and probably won't. I'm a terrible old fuss pot when it comes to food and drink - I don't like ANY tea so thnk I'll avoid it. I'm relying on my acupuncturist to speed things along but she won't start using the different points until 37 weeks so still ages away... Haven't heard anything about nettle tea, will have to google it. And your milk and cookies chocolate baby will match my chocolate baby perfectly Though I have to admit mine will be a Nestle milk choc bits baby
Sonya, welcome! I hear you about the sore bottom bit. I was told by my FS to get onto an iron supplement, and therefore the associated constipation that flows. But I drink heaps of water anyway and mum had brought me round a home-grown pawpaw - and needless to say, I don't need to say anymore!
KitKat, my jail break was much fun, thanks for asking. The scariest part was my mum (72 in September) pushing me around in a wheelchair (37) at a speed of knots. I swear I thought I was going to hit the glass doors of the shopping centre as she showed no signs of slowing down anywhere. But it was really nice to get out, although I was very tired after just a couple of hours. The book What to expect when you're expecting I thought was great. The one I borrowed from the library had been revised for Australia and NZ, so I don't know if you want that one or the American version?
Lise, how was your family get-together? I am sure the food was great. So unfair when everyone is drinking around you, although I'm under strict doctors orders to have a glass of wine at lunch and a glass of wine at dinner. It's the only thing he's prescribed that is the least bit nice, but I worry about the bubs so only have one small glass at dinner. But it's hard when mum and my DH get onto the good bottles - and I mean bottles - and I think, "Well, thank you for your support." It's all meant to relax the uterus due to my situation. Your pregnancy massage sounds like it's going to be bliss.
Renee, happy belated birthday for yesterday! Good to hear that your morning sickness is starting to abate!
Hi Leabie and welcome! When is your next acupuncture appointment?
Paula, a 4D scan sounds so exciting! Not many days to go now.
AFM, apparently my private health insurance does cover me for everything - at least the lovely lady in the Medibank Private office said so. Because I am paranoid, though, I am going to call them (once we get a home phone line connected; bloody Telstra) and double-check. I have an underactive thyroid, too, and am a bit peeved because I called my endo as soon as I found out I had a BFP and she told me to up the dose, but now it's gone a bit low so she's told me to go back to what I was and have it checked in two weeks again. Aaaagh! Still, it's great that I can call her mobile and she gets back to me straightaway. You lovely ladies are my connection to the outside world ATM and it's great to be able to log on briefly and chat to everyone, so thank you!
Oh, almost forgot: I need to ask some advice about nuchal scans. You can get them done from 11 to 13 weeks and yet for some reason the date my FS gave me would be almost right on 13 weeks. Because of my age (37) I have an increased risk of Downs. When have other ladies who have chosen to have this scan done, had it done? Thanks in advance!
just popping in to say a big hello.been mia for a while now but have been thinking of you all and i sure hope you are all going great.will catch up on all your post very soon, take care all and cant wait to start hearing some ba
Wow! So much to read through!!! Sorry I don't have more personals today. I promise I will come back and fix that when I have some time!
Chrissy- Yeah, I'm pretty set with Titiz as well. I still think he could use some work on his bedside manner but I think technically he knows what he is doing (well it worked with me...) and I've found that if you ask questions he is very honest. Problem is that he doesn't think to offer the info before you ask and as you'd know- first time round you don't know what questions to ask!
Yoga and classes sound brilliant! I was starting to look around for pregnancy yoga on the northside. I would love to start as soon as possible. It would be great if Brunette and MissK want to come too. We could have our own little posse!!!
Also guys bookwise- I just bought one that seems pretty good (although what would I know- first time mum!) It's called "Pregnancy- the complete Australian guide to planning and birth" by Heather Welford. It has a month by month as well as sections on everything from morning sickness to birth plans. Seems good to me but I like books with concise information and pictures.
I hope all you girls are doing well and looking forward to the next step in this amazing trip!!!
Well after deciding yesterday that I was going to 'look' at computers I of course had to go out and buy one - I think DH is a bit cross at me...! But I was so tired of having to wait forever for the computer to do the simplest task (like turning on!) and i'm having lots of fun playing with the new one, though I have to admit i'm getting a little frustrated - I bought a Mac and i've never had one before so i'm not quite sure what i'm doing really...!
Anyway, welcome back smithy, it's been a while! Hope the move went well and you're all settled in now.
Chrissy - I didn't get a choice when I booked into hospital - at my first OB visit (which was about 12 or 13 weeks) they asked me to fill in the paperwork and they sent it all off for me.
