Lise - oh I so want a massage already lol... I am soooo jealous!!
Brunette - I'm trying to keep up the water but being so cold at the moment its really hard. I'm sorry you're lacking external contact, it must be really hard.
Loula - Hey you, so happy to meet you in here. This is very cool!!
Paula - wow... a full nights sleep, that's incredible. How enjoyable - to look forward to a 4D scan.
afm, definitely going to NY, I am seriously excited about it. Feeling tired and cranky after being woken up at 2am and not being able to go back to sleep. Nervous having to wait for another 3 weeks until the first scan. It's all very bizarre still though.
Just a really quick post to keep in touch, i haven't been out of bed the last couple of days. I definatley opened my mouth too soon when i said i was starting to feel better!!!! The last couple of days have been rough, i haven't even been able to eat which to me is just as awful as i kind of love my food!!!
I also have a question - I have only in the last couple of days been getting a sore belly button, i have a really big innie and at the end of that it is quite sore. Has anyone else had a similar thing, i realise it is probably muscles stretching but just curious.
Anyway hope everyone is great! I will hopefully catch up soon.
Hello girls.I apologise for neing MIA lately.I have been reading your posts but just cant keep up,especially with all the newbies.I keep forgetting who wrote what as you all seem to be early on in your pregnancies.I hope you are all doing well.
Londonmiss,Lise,Paula~ Hope your plodding along nicely. I have cancelled my fb account as i was being hormonal and moody and disagreed with my brother over an issue so i clicked..deactivate account.
Well im having a whinge today.Im hoping someone can help me by reading this....
I had my antenatal app yesterday and much to my dismay,i was told that my baby is now too small for 29 weeks!! My fundal height was 28 which wasnt too bad but after the routine scan which we have every visit, prof said she is small.I now have to have a growth scan done in 2.5 weeks and see him in 3.As i was born 6.5 pounds,he says its probably (90%) chance that she is just genetiically small.
I am only 160cm and weighed 47 kg before pregnancy.
He said depending on the scan,if she continues to grow along the lowere percentile, she is just a small baby BUT if she shows no more growth over the next few weeks,i will need to have a caesarean to deliver her early!!!!!!
I havnt slept lastnight and am just in shock. At my 19/20 week scan she was average sized now she is too small. The worry of it all is making me sick.I know i cant stress as that is bad for her and i am going to eat more to hopefully build her up.
I have been eating healthier this pregnancy and am hoping that its only food that i need and nothing more seriuos like placental insufficiency.
The good thing he said was that babies that are 'growth retarded' usually have low amniotic fluid levels.Mine were perfect which he said could indicate she is just little because she is built that way.
Does the worry EVER end.I was sooooo happy to get to the 28 weeks mark as she would be big enough to come early but now im worried all over again.
If she comes early she wont be coming at least until 3-4 from now but it doesnt make it easier.
Does anyone know of someone who has had to have a growth scan done??
Any advice would be great!!!
Wantbaby - a good friend had a growth scan and turned out the baby was just a little small. Like you my friend is petite so her baby just took after her. The baby was also lying really far back so my friend's tummy looked small but was all okay. I know you're probably completely stressed by it all but I think continuing on as normal and eating up big (now is a great time to order DH to the shops each night for ice cream!!) is the best you can do xx
Thankyou Lise.Did your friend have her baby?if so how big was he/she? If not,did her dr want to deliver early? I have just been reading other peoples stories on various forums and that has calmed me a little.Im definately going to eat what i want from now on.Lastnight i had maccas and a hot apple pie.So far today...cereal,2 pieces toast,apple,2 glasses of juice. For lunch im thinking chocolate and for diinner...well,maybe chocolate.LOL.(if i dont laugh i will cry) LOL LOL LOL LOL...blah.
Just a quick post for Renee - sorry to hear you're feeling so lousy babe, have you ever tried the acupressure wrist bands for travel sickness/nausea? I have some and think they're brilliant. Most chemists stock them, if you don't have them and wanted to try them. I've got elasticised ones and velcro ones - I'd go the elasticised, as the velcro tends to cut off the movement/circulation! Even my darling sceptic DH swears by them (he gets bad seasickness). Another tip for nausea is eating outside, or with a breeze blowing on your face (eg fan) so you can't smell the food so much.
Hope this helps?
PS Wantbaby - hope you're doing OK sweetie, it must be a stressful time. She sounds like she's petite like her mum! for you, and enjoy eating up big!
gee, it's a bit quiet here at the moment - hope that's a sign that we're all going along so swimmingly well that we have nothing to say
I'm typing this on my new laptop - forgot who asked me (sorry, bad pregnancy brain!!) but I am definitely enjoying the Mac! DH is taking a bit longer to adjust, but that's because he works from home sometimes and needs word etc., and is having trouble without the usual shortcuts...!
Wantbaby - hope you're feeling okay and not too roly poly with all the additional food you're consuming! Thinking back properly, I don't think I did actually gain any weight in the first trimester either, it's all since then, though I don't think i've put on any weight lately and i've been continuing with my Nestle milk choc bits on an almost daily basis (it's embarrassing I know ) so not sure how i've managed that! No pics from Ky yet, will let you know if she posts any.
KitKat - wow, what a saga with your BP! I'm definitely counting myself lucky that mine has been fine in pregnancy, it can sometimes be a bit high but since i've been pg it's been low and although i've read it should start getting higher as you get closer to the end it's even lower than ever! Will be curious to see how I go at the OB today. Anyway, hope your BP continues to stay at a good level.
LondonMiss - hope you're feeling better so you can enjoy having your friend around! I thought of you on the weekend when we had a garage sale of my grandfather's old stuff - in amongst everything DH found a little bell which he presented to me. He clearly wasn't thinking at all as i've been ringing it constantly when i'm on the couch or in bed and am too lazy to do something,
Brunette - DH and I have just finished classes, we started at 32 weeks, but we didn't really have much of a say when we did them as the hospital enrolled us in these classes when they sent us all our admission papers, which my OB gave us at our first visit so we haven't really had to do anything ourselves... Not sure if this is normal for private hospitals (or any hospital really) so not very helpful sorry!
smithy - my goodness Charlie is getting so big! And she looks so much like you
AFM - have an OB appointment this afternoon. I don't know why I look forward to these appointments so much, it's not like she really does much, maybe it's just another way of marking time and feeling like we're finally getting closer to the end.
So on the weekend my sister and a family friend were trying to guess names - DH and I have chosen but we're keeping them to ourselves. My sister wrote two names down, male and female, and would you believe she was spot on! I denied it of course, so she's still none the wiser but I just couldn't believe she guessed exactly what they would be!!!! She'll laugh when I finally get to tell her and my mum will just shake her head in resignation. Although there's 4 years between my sister and I we think exactly the same and my mum thinks we're like twins as we often say the same things at the same time in the same tone, freaky!!!
Anyway ladies, can you tell who's at home on mat leave with nothing to do today?! I'd better let you all go. Hope everyone is well xx
Hey Kit Kat, thanks for your info on raised blood pressure. I am glad yours has come down with pregnancy. Don't kick yourself about being on your drugs for the first two weeks. There is nothing you can do about it now, and it seems like everything is all good so no harm done. I saw my FS this morning and mine also had come down to 110/70 so that's good. Have you had your first scan now? How did it all go?
Wantbaby, eating Mars Bars and fattening up the bubs sounds not too bad, but I totally understand your concern/anxiety about bub being born early. Because I have twins I too will have uncertainty throughout the PG about EDD. FX for you that bubs keeps growing.
AFM, as I said, I saw my FS this morning and had another scan. I had a fair few questions to ask, esp about me losing and not gaining weight but he wasn't at all concerned that I had lost a bit of weight. He just said it's the babies growing - which they have! (Thought this might help others in early pregnancy who are experiencing same thing). Two weeks ago the babies were 14 mm and 16.6 mm. Now (although FS said just very rough measurements) they are 35.8mm and 33.2 mm. The larger one looked was sitting up and looked like he/she was waving his arms around, but the smaller one was on its side and looked like it was sleeping! This caused mum some concern as I would have liked some action from the smallest of the two but on the good news front, all the internal blood seems to have gone. I can again do a jail break this Friday to the shopping centre in a wheelchair and have lunch! Yay! So excited!
wantbaby2 - My GP went to give it to me last app but the nurse wasn't available so i will b getting it today. She told me that it was perfectly safe and strongly recommended that i get it. Reading about your KFC feast made me sooo hungry i haven't stopped thinking about it, so i believe i will have to satisfy that craving at lunch!!!!
leabie excellent news on chickpea. I cried when we were told we are having a girl (we REALLY wanted a girl) and felt a little silly too but in the end didnt care cause its super dooper normal to be so excited you cry!! lise watch out for those rugs, we dont need you having any trips (touch wood). wantbaby#2 i too went shopping last night and had to sit down on the nursery rocking chair in Toys R Us while DH had a look around (big kid) as i felt exhausted and my legs were so sore. As soon as i got home, had a shower and fell straight asleep. I used to be able to shop for hours and hours on end but now 1 hour and i want to go home!! As for the flu shot, my obs hasnt said anything but i generally dont have one anyway. Brunette yes 4D is video mode. We got two dvd's. One with images and one with the video of the whole session. Renee enjoy your KFC
So glad its Friday!! Have to admit though, the weeks do seem to by going by rather quickly lately but im not complaining at all! Bring it on!

paula, wow hun your going great soooon to be 29weeks yippee
love smithy.
Juniper - glad to see you over here! Wishing you a very happy and healthy pregnancy!!
Paula - the weeks are going quickly aren't they, but at the same time I still wish they'd go faster. I really need to stop that and just enjoy my last few weeks of doing my own thing...
Brunette - is it 28 Days? Hope you enjoy your jail break
Hello to everyone else - feeling a little lazy and sleepy today so off for a nap after I investigate what has happened to my ticker...???
Hey Juniper, Congratulations! That's excellent news. I had a good feeling about your changing FSs and about this cycle being the one for you. Well done and welcome.
My jail break was great. Only stayed out for a couple of hours but it was soooo good to get out of the house, even if only to get to get money back for medical bills and quick lunch. I even started singing the song "Jail Break" when mum turned up at the door. Very sad really
