Hi ladies, just a really quick post because I have caught a dreaded head cold, too. Think it was from DH's youngest daughter who we had last weekend who was sick with the same thing. Does anyone know if it affects the bubs? I'm such a worrywort and not taking anything other than an odd Panadol.
mitf, I was told to drink one glass of wine at lunch and at dinner to prevent the uterus from contracting, as I was at very high risk of "threatened miscarriage" - overheard FS very quietly whispered words before we left the clinic. I feel terrible about it, and also now that I'm sick with head cold it's the last thing I want to do. So for the last week I have stopped the glass at lunch and just had very small one with dinner, but couldn't even finish that last night. I am also on valium throughout the day for the same reason - to stop the uterus from contracting. But honestly between the four progesterone pessaries per day, the 16 progesterone tablets, the 12 ethinyl oestrogen tablets, anti-clotting tabs, multis, iron tab etc etc I am so tired and cannot think straight!
Better sign off now and see if I can force something down for dinner, as I have not only a head cold but a very sore throat!

The hospital visit was good actually, really reassuring. The only downside was when she invited us to observe how sound proof the walls are... which just makes me thinks of gory axe murder films which probably wasn't what she was expecting.... it's all so lovely and clean and looks like a chain hotel. It's very hard to imagine someone giving birth in there, it seems such a messy thing to do in there! I feel a bit bad about messing it up... how silly is that.....
Now, can't recall who has a cold and who doesn't, someone asked to advice: just drink lots and lots of water (as if you aren't all ready), bub is so protected from all that stuff, placentas are jolly wonderful things, blocking so much out and being very bossy about what gets across and what doesn't. My DH has a head cold and one might imagine that his leg was hanging off by a tendon the way he's going on about it. I think sleeping in the front room tonight for me, I'll get more sleep!!
