MissAma - Hello Stranger!!!! Guess who No really, lets see if you can guess. It's so wonderful to see you here. Means your move to Aussie land seems more of a sure thing!!!
Hehe you're unmistakable lovely! It iis a surer thing by the day, scary too! Loved your nursery, just loved it, I can't wait till we get there too! It feels like you're light years ahead for now!

Thank you for the very warm welcome everyone, it truly astounded me how much warmth in this thread, so different from other online nooks.

To answer someone who kindly asked, we are not sure when, it's all about waiting times for the visa and then saving like mad, so I presume reasonably not till sometime next year so for now we're researching suburbs of major cities like mad and we are falling in love with what we're seeing, property wise at least, you guys have it brilliantly as compared to us here!

Our Little Human Being is alright, gave us a Doppler scare last night but redeemed himself with a lot of clarity this morning. Oddly he only shows up to play on an empty bladder after I ate something...

Forgive me for not doing proper personals yet, I'm hoping to progress to that soon!

Hope everyone is having a lovely week so far!

So i've got a new tactic for brining this labour forward - i'm going to plan something exciting for every day until he's due in the hope that murphy's law will prevail and he will come when I don't want him to as I have something on! Mind you, it seems that all the activities i'm thinking of involve spending money and now that i'm on half-pay I really should be a bit more careful.

Today's outing was a pedi, quite nice though she massaged my legs a little too vigorously and they're a little sore. Still, at least I didn't have to bend over to try to do my feet myself Oh, and I bought some books i've been meaning to read for ages with the aim of reading at least two decent books during my mat leave rather than the mindless trash i've been wasting time on. I do so hope I get my book brain back again once the chicklet is here, I love reading and was most disappointed to realise my poor pregnancy brain just couldn't seem to cope with anything highbrow or usually found in the 'literary' section. I've been reduced to reading terribly trashy chick lit books found on sale in Big W. And yes I admit i'm a bit of a snob when it comes to books so I embarrass myself - I give these books away as fast as I read them

MissAma - do you have your own doppler? I'm not sure if that would have reassured me or made me more paranoid, though I'm not sure if it was possible to get even MORE paranoid...!

Apologies for the all about me post - hope you're all cooking along nicely. Not long to go before we should have a whole swag of babies around, so very exciting

Okay, no persies today as I got the results of my nuchal scan back. Seems pretty good considering they couldn't add the bloods in with it. First off, I was blown away by the detail of the scan. Technology really is amazing, isn't it? I got a DVD; couldn't help myself! The twins are bascially on top of each other. The sonographer thinks they're fraternal and on the report it has dichorionic, diamnoitic, which apparently can still be identical but more likely fraternal. They both have their own sacs and a really strong looking membrane, which sonographer says usually strongly indicative of fraternal twins. The placenta looks like it has joined. I hope I'm getting this right; blaming PG brain. NT measurement for twin 1 was 2.10mm and for twin 2, 2.30mm. As I say, couldn't combine bloods so just went with scan and age. Age alone risk was 1:190 but for twin 1 adjusted risk is 1:605 and for twin 2, 1:421. The doctor who gave me the summary report at the end said further testing would be riskier (esp with twins) than the result I had, and seemed quite happy with the result. So is my DH. Yet to talk to my FS about it but all in all it's looking pretty good. So hard to believe after such a scary start that now I might have to worry about being a mother - the 20-week scan, day care, schools .... I know; I'm a worry wort!

Brunette, so glad your scan went well and you got a good look at your twins!! And I think your numbers look good, with my age, good bloods and a measurement of 2.7 (which is on the 'higher end of normal' apparently) my combined risk factor was about 1:550 which is higher than most I know but everone was happy with that and nobody ever suggested further testing so you should be okay

Miss Ama - Welcome Welcome Where are you coming from?

Hi everyone ~ Thanks for the welcome!!

I have a quick questions - I'm 6 wks on Saturday and haven't been sleeping all that well for the last week and a half - I wake up in the middle of the night and find it difficult to get back to sleep. I haven't had sleeping problems before. Has anyone else had sleeping issues this early or should I look for another answer (like diet or something). I do take Elevit, so I thought that should be all the vitimins/minerals I would need ...

Then yesterday, I couldn't keep working I was soooo tired (because of lack of sleep) so I left work and went home to sleep!! Hoping this is normal!!

Thanks in advance for your comments!!

mum2be, I've been waking up during the night, but my cat has been the cause. But, even when I get a good night's sleep I'm exhausted by about lunchtime and keep wishing I could take a nap at work.
