BYO doll? We might have to speak to our 5yo niece to borrow one if we're meant to do that? Like airline, I'm curious to know which hospital this was at?

Airline the trick with the dentist is to claim such agony you just can't make it through the day! They always have emergency appointment but they don't want us to know that

brunette I hope you had fun with your nursery

Interesting info on the classes, I think my DH will hate it. But I'm gonna make him go!

Afm- had a great weekend away shopping in rockhampton, I got all the maternity clothes I'm likely to need. I love kmart!!! And pumpkin patch maternity was 30% off, woohoo! We also got a spare bed and a new lounge, but no baby stuff! Saving that for December.

Hospital is Nth West Private (classes were $200, 3 x 3hrs). Hubby was B-O-R-E-D as the info I'd been researching had been discussed with him anyway. I think next Saturday will be the eye opener.

Yep, gotta love the recent baby sales, Best N Less, Target - love it! and layby is my new friend :-)

Hey CK that's where I'm going too. I'm sure there's someone else on here as well....Juniper maybe? Who's your OB? I have Dr D'arcy-Evans, only had one appt. but happy with him.

So question time again... after almost 9 weeks now of nausea I am starting to wonder if indeed it'll ever end or if I am 'one of those women' who suffers throughout pregnancy. Anyhoo, I have probably eaten green vegies like broccoli and beans about 3 times in that 9 weeks. I take my Blackmores pregnancy gold capsules, I have eaten a lot of chicken and (if I cook them) prawns, and in the last week managed 2 x mince dishes and 1 x lamb strips dish. I eat fruit every day, but do admit that take away seems to go down waaayyy easier than a lot of stuff at home, but I've been curbing that. I just assumed that I'd feel better and then go back to eating my normal diet, including vegies with most meals..... is this going to be a problem? What if I can't manage many vegies for the entire pregnancy? I still love corn on cob, can handle carrots (better raw than cooked) but it's a nig NO to greens.

Also....I am off to dentist tomorrow. Is it safe to have local anaesthetic? I'm sure he'll know, he knew not to x ray me last time, but just asking. xx

Hi Lovelies Been keeping a low profile keeping this cold, it feels like a pregnancy counting down the number of weeks I have had this one
Airline, my friend who is a doctor just reminded me last week that babies will steal all the nutrients they need and leave the Mum with deficiencies, not the other way around. In other words, don't worry about your diet if you are taking your multi-vits (I take the same ones) and eating the good stuff you can. You can have local at the dentist, it's not a problem. You are right that Xrays are the other things they avoid, but they can give you them if they have to (which you won't need of course) by shielding your tummy.

You are doing such a great job getting through all this sickness, so just remember your body is very well designed to give your growing baby all it needs, even if you can't eat your greens

CK77 - Those lessons sound very familiar. We did ours all in one day and it was a looooong one - but they had the baby dolls there which made it easier It's worth mentioning that the catheter after a vaginal birth comes out after a couple of hours at most hospitals, I think if you have a C section it's much longer, but for me it was out before I even realised it was even there.

Re: Shopping trips - As one still new-ish Mum, can I say from experience and chatting with other Mum's that the best cheap baby clothes are from Target. I bought a bit from Big W and KMart and both of their stuff wash quite badly (out of shape and fading was very common). Other brands may be more expensive, but you get more wear out of them and pass them onto to future kidlets or sell them on ebay if that's what you like to do. Just my thoughts for what it's worth

HI to everyone, been watching and seeing how everyone is going

AFM - Had my scan on Friday, my new little junior kept waving at us which was so nice. My DH texted the sex within seconds of finding out and got told off by both me and the scan lady as she hadn't checked anything out yet to make sure everything was OK (which it was)

North West Private is about 5 mins from our house, but we're driving all the way to the Mater. I think Brunette is our other NW lady?

airline, sorry to hear the nausea is lingering for you. Although I was lucky enough to have it end around 13wks (after starting before 4wks), I've heard up to 16wks is common. Then there's some who have it longer of course... Even if it does go past 16wks, that doesn't mean you'll have it the whole time, as it can still stop after that time. I still get nausea whenever I'm tired or hungry. In fact today I had a really bad wave of it for half an hour for no reason that I could discern. I even tried to call DH to ask him to take me home from work (about 11am). Just eat what you can. Try to be good if you want to, but don't be hard on yourself if you can only handle "less good" things.

Lairdoz, that's good to know. We've always bought gifts for friends from Target and expected to shop there a lot for ourselves. I think Best & Less are also good for the Baby Bonds? Glad to hear the scan went well! Are you sharing the gender?

Ok, so today we had 3 new people start at work, after another 3 last week. That may not sound like a lot to some, but it takes our office to 23 people, so it's a huge influx... Anyway, one of today's newstarts has the first name that we've picked for our little girl. This is in addition to another co-worker giving his daughter born in May the exact 1st and 2nd name combo we've had picked for years... So there's now two people at work who'll be paying attention to the name we've chosen. But on the good news front, DH has agreed to having two middle names (this makes her name different to my co-worker's daughter). He has also given her the nickname of his little M&M, which I think is adorable!

Aw Jaki, that's so natural being affected by hearing your bub's heartbeat. We're all just a big pile of overactive hormones ATM, aren't we?

Hi Miss K, how much longer do you have to go now? A Brisbane get-together sounds great.

WW, I think it's normal for everything down there to be tight and sore as a result of all the extra blood in the area, everything is engorged. Re thrush and strep B, just ask for a swab so you know if you've got either. I take my hat off to you for attempting to DTD. I couldn't be bothered. I have zero sex drive due to worrying about anything that might cause these twins to come out early, esp as I might have placenta previa which is an issue. At least you can both have a good laugh about it, hey?

    Hi Girls

I hope you don't mind if I join you all again.

After going through 2 FET cycles to have baby #2 we found out on Monday at our 7 week scan that we are expecting twins. DD was the result of 3 FET cycles and she turned 1 yesterday. So that means (depending on when these 2 make an arrival) there will be approx 19 months between DD and the new babies. Based on transfer dates my EDD is 28/5/11 although I see my Ob in 2 weeks and will be discussing how long I need to keep these ones cooking for.

This time around I was hoping for a pregnancy that I could enjoy as with DD all I did was countdown to milestones and seemed to be concious of everything, but it seems not so this time around as well due to higher complications with twins, plus my age (I'll be 38 when they arrive) and now having a toddler to run around after but what is meant to be is meant to be.

Brunette: I might start stalking you for a bit as there are not too many twins pregnancies on here and even though I've been pregnant before I just don't know what to expect with twins....

    Hello Everyone,

Lovely reading everyone's posts. I've been following along, with not too much to say. Nice to see everyone going along well.

Brunette, bugger about the strep B possibility, though it sounds like it will be taken care of by the antibiotics. I loved reading about your nursery. It sounds like heaven (for now, anyway!).

And MaggiePie, so sorry about your sister and thanks for telling us, even though it's horrible. It's better to know. Another thing to add to my list for the OB. Does this remind anyone of IVF sometimes? I always had a list a mile long, and because I'm anxious, I would rehearse my questions incessantly in my mind.

Leabie, enjoy Hervey Bay! Just soak up the relax. Lucky ...

Juniper, GL with your nursery set up and home renovations.

Hi to everyone else I've missed.

Oh Airline and Chrissy, I've finished True Blood now. I did love Russell Edgington as an old school baddie vamp. But the very end was slightly silly.

AFM, well, I've been having ups and downs and a few tears. I guess it's because I'm losing my confidence in myself a bit. I worry about lots of details and wake up in the night thinking about things like nappies and our cat, and how she'll cope with the baby. Plus my DH and I are like ... well, to be honest, us trying to DTD has become kind of farcical. Sorry if TMI, but I guess we always just liked ... um missionary style. And that's not working. So I try on top and he's like "I can't breathe" because my belly hangs down and weighs him down. It is actually pretty funny and we do laugh a lot at our ineptitude. I think we need to enrol in remedial sex school. Anyway, on a more serious note, it actually kinda hurts a bit - it's so tight and sore, and I think this relates to this constant thrush that I seem to have (worse in PG). Told OB & he just prescribed the creams etc. Temporary fix. Any bets I have strep B too, I'm sure I have every bacteria under the sun in there. Anyway. It's like if I just didn't worry about it, it would be fine, because I'm actually really happy with everything but .... except for the mammoth belly swell after, which is freaky (do people know what I mean?). Anyway, sorry if this chat is too much! Just needed to speak honestly, and I'm not that uninhibited to talk with my RL friends somehow ....

    Red face

    Hi Ladies
I just got the phone call with my blood test result and its POSITIVE!! Its our first ICSI cycle and I really thought it would take many cycles to get to this result. The two week wait was the hardest time. I wasn't sure where to post this, I just wanted to share the news.

I had a very hard time when I learnt that we had to go through ICSI and "Mumma Sue" and the other girls on this website were so kind and got me through it.

I really want to enjoy this time now but at the back of my mind are all the worries, that now I've achieved this what if the baby doesn't grow properly etc etc...

I'm taking folic acid and iodine but is it necessary to take pregnancy vitamins like the Blackmore vitamins?
    Any advice would be welcome.
    Cheers.

ABJ - congratulations and welcome! Blackmores Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Gold seems to be recommended over Elevit as it has more iodine (I think). Although some people get a bit quesy on it.

    Hi girls,

Glad to hear everyone is moving along nicely. AFM I haven't been able to shake this cough / sinus thing. Went to Dr yesterday who said I was this much (about a cm with the fingers) off having pneumonia. So on antibiotics and told to take it easy ha ha as we are moving this weekend! Was also meant to work this weekend but probably won't the way I am feeling at the moment.

Will write more when feeling like I can... For now off to the lounge....

abj - i take blackmores preg and bf tablets but make sure you don't also take folic acid tablets as well. read the warning on the back of the bottle. and Congrats. Your worries and concerns are very normal - i'm still in worry hell atm but fx for a h and h 9/10 months

Leabie - i had to laugh at your comment that you can't even remember where your keys are... preggy brain hit me hard yesterday .... I had to google "how many weeks in a year" Couldn't remember if it was 52 or 56! and with DS, i once came home from work and put my handbag in the freezer, lucky DH saw me do it or i'd never have found it!!! lol I think you'll find the yoga will really help. I used Juju Sunjin's birth skills book and will again this time. It was all about distracting your mind with breathing, chanting, repeating movements etc and with a tens machine and the gas I was able to birth DS within 7 hrs of going into labour (i know, very very lucky lady to have such a short first labour )

kellyd - that sounds like a great deal! and a good idea to get the seats that sees them through to 7 as well. I can't imagine the logisitics you have to now consider with 3! and I agree, I get girl vibes from you too.

maggiepie - do rest up love! pneum is hte last thing you need right now! (obviously!!, i like to state the obvious, makes me feel needed lol). I do hope you feel better soon love.

hi to all the other girlies. Fingers crossed ds doesn't have another huge morning sleep so we can go to playgroup. Oh and the nausea has stepped up a notch lately to little throat voms... mmmmm tasty. hahaha
