CK- Yay for baby being here! I know what you mean about nothing going to plan. I certainly didn't plan on a c-secion but every time you look at that beautiful bub it all just fades away and doesn' matter any more how he came into the world!

    Congratulations honey- enjoy!!!

Yay Glenny that everything turned out good in the end for you and enjoy having your princess at home.

CK: Congrats on the arrival of your precious blue bundle. Enjoy every minute...

Renee: That list is very short indeed. I feel that by early next year only me, grub and babytruj will be the ony ones left. Here'e hoping for some Xmas & New Year BFP's so we have some more girls join us.

OMG, this thread is so exciting at the moment.

Chrissy, congratulations!! Rossi sounds absolutely gorgeous! And big congratulations and pats on the back for you for labouring and birthing that little one. Just in awe of all women who go through this experience, in any way shape or form.

You too, Glenny. Wow, your story is full on. I'm so glad to hear baby Katherine is doing so well. You are so strong to get through that emotional/physical rollercoaster.

I just can't imagine how you guys must feel. To actually finally see and hold your little ones. Cannot wait!

Also, Kelly, glad to hear about your two little boys. Exciting!

    Thinking of you, Renee.

    Take care all,
    WW

Congrats to CK - hope you are enjoying this super special time

Glenny, hope you are also enjoying Katherine, and thanks for sharing your story.

Renee - not long for you now either!!!

There is something wrong with the birth list being 10 times longer than the Mum's to be list!
This is exciting - we do need some more new Mum's, this has been a very quiet year for BFP's, I hope this changes very soon

congratulations ck!!!!!!! how fantastic for you to be holding your bundle of boy in your arms!!

I have noticed a lot of people who talk about their birth experience say that most plans go out the window......maybe that's subconsciously why I"ve not made any yet.....

    leg cramps

Hey there, just wondering if anyone else experiencing night-time calf/leg cramps that wake you from deep sleep and are extremely painful? I have had two episodes, one last night and one about a month ago. Both involved me literally screaming in pain, and really panicked and obviously waking up DH, so he could push back on my foot.

I know what to do when they strike. I used to get them in my teens.

But I am faced now with a really strong fear of going back to sleep. For instance, this morning's one woke me at 3am. And I think it was about 5 before I drifted off. Each time I started to drift off, I could feel the cramp returning.

I feel really weak and pathetic about this. I also have thoughts like "well, how the hell will you cope with labour" and "you should be grateful to be pregnant, and shouldn't complain" etc etc. But it's really upsetting me. I can hardly work today, feel nauseous from being over-tired and actually dread the sun going down, because I fear having to face another episode tonight.

I don't know what to do. Anyway, just needed to share that. I've read most everything on them (ie magnesium, stretching, warm bath, loose bed clothes, exercise, tonic water). But there is a view that they're inevitable, in pregnancy??

    Hope others aren't having these,

    WW

WW, sorry to hear about the leg cramps. Thankfully I haven't had many. My acupuncturist recommended drinking a glass of milk before bed to help with them. I hate milk, so for me the recommended "cure" is as bad as the problem and I haven't bothered trying it.

WW i have suffered from them for the last couple of months i wake with cramps in my calves or arches of my feet. They are really painful and annoying. I was basically told the same as you with options to help but they can be a pregnancy thing so i have just dealt with them. You will be fine in labour, i try and sleep with my legs out as much as possible in bed, even though that is hard to do. Sorry luv i can't help more.

Also i think it is time i offically handed the list over to anyone who wants to take it on, otherwise i will be doing my own BA!!!

WW i have them every night! Like you i had them when i was younger. The trick is to get out of bed quick as possible and walk it off. Not an easy task but much more effective than pushing your toes back.

Thanks Juniper, Renee and Jaki for your responses and tips. It helps to know others are going through these. It's the panic and anxiety response that really concerns me most. I worry I won't be able to sleep for the rest of the pregnancy. Looking at my ticker helps. 46 nights (maybe).

Still, last two nights were better tho I did get up nearly every hour to walk around, and felt pretty nervous most of the night. So I'm kind of on edge still. I think though that the last one was so disruptive (I lost half the night's sleep) that it's best just to get up and have that broken sleep?

I am taking Scheussler's Tissue Salts now, as well as Blackmore's Bio-Magnesium. I also tried the milk thing, Juniper, which I actually love (I am a dairy fanatic). Plus it's cold here (bizarrely) and it feels kind of Christmassy, with some honey and nutmeg. Anyway, feeling a bit better emotionally but still kinda wimpy and neurotic, which is nothing new for me!

Hope all are well & Happy Festivities!

WW, glad to hear the last 2 nights were better. Hopefully it will continue to improve.

Afm, LAST DAY OF WORK!! Of course, to get everything finished before I go I was up until 2am last night working... Now I can't be bothered doing anything today...

OB appt yesterday showed bub is now lying with her head near my left hip. The OB said she's more oblique than head down, but I'm still happy she's got her head generally in the right area.

Hi Ladies, I just wanted to wish you and your significant others a wonderful Christmas and fantastic New Year :-)

Not long now until you get to meet your little bundles, especially you Renee - I hope you're putting your feet up, you haven't exactly had the easiest of pregnancies.

DH's family will be at ours for Christmas so in between feeding, burping, nappy changes, more feeding and finally sleep time with Rossi, I'll be madly scrambling to help DH with preparations... No rest for the wicked ;-)

Take care and massive belly rubs to you all..

    Chrissy, Dirk and Rossi xx
