MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!!! I'm working tomorrow...(well some folk like to fly on Christmas day??!!), but DH and I will have a lovely evening with friends, and then I'm on a week off. I can't believe the sad state I was in a year ago...and the difference a year can make. For that I am sooo grateful.

Hope you're all going well and enjoyed having your little bundles at home for your first Christmas. We had such fun with Finn at Christmas, he got totally spoilt by the family although they could have saved themselves some money and just bought him wrapping paper instead as that was his favourite part

Oh I know EXACTLY how you feel, Finn was 9 days late and every day was pure torture. Hope you don't have too much longer to wait xx If your OB hasn't done it already ask for a S&S, that's what started my labour!

I agree with Lise, the strip and stretch I think is what started me, although with the group b strep you want to have your contractions start before your waters break, not the other way around as it may then limit you during labour (they started my antibiotics as soon as I got up there, was still able to use the shower for pain relief, just not the bath due to waters already ruptured).
And Renee, if they offer you sandwiches or food, take it! Hours into my labour I started feeling really hungry so I'm glad that I at least ate the sandwiches while they still allowed me to have food :-)
I'll keep checking in to see if you are any closer to meeting your little one :-)

Hi everyone else I hope you are all growing nicely and that you had a very enjoyable christmas with your bumps.
AFM: Life is very busy at the moment with lots of running around at Xmas but finally we are back to normal again which is great. Both my boys seem to be cooking nicely with both deciding to start giving me kicks on Xmas Day although they are a bit quiet at the moment... growing again I'm sure... I've got my hospital booking details all back and I have also arranged all of my 4 weekly scans until the babies are due (or c/s date) so now all I have to do is let these kids get bigger and stronger.
As you can see in my sig my belly is now quite big... this photo was taken on the weekend at 18 weeks. One of my favourite things to do when pregnant with DD was to measure around my belly to see how big I was growing outwards, with me measuring at 124cm the day before she was born..... So today I have measured around my belly to get a comparison and at 18 weeks 4 days I am measuring 117cm around OMG. It makes sense though as I am now starting to find doing even the basic things hard to do like reach into the washing machine and bend into cupboards. Only good thing is that I have only put on 3kg's so far but I'm sure that will increase very soon and if we get too much heat I may have to contend with fluid retention as well. Ah the joys of pregnancy hey...

Thinking of you Renee, hope your little one doesn't keep you waiting too much longer! I'm getting impatient, and there's still 2 weeks to go... Spend as much time as you can spoiling yourself rotten, thats my suggestion!

AFM - nothing much to report, bub has not engaged any further than last week. Can't remember if I posted or not, but bub was measuring right on date for everything except the belly! I'm growing a little Buddha apparently... hey, at least it wasn't the head that was bigger than it should be!

Just noticed you are from near Ballarat too. I have a small farm south east of Ballarat. Did you go through Ballarat IVF? I did. I had 2 full IVF cycles & 1 FET all BFN and then 3rd IVF cycle was positive
I have finally got pregnant (only 5 and a half weeks) after a year of IVF, which followed 2 years of searching for a donor and a year of donor insemination (started this journey in Dec 2006).
I still can't believe I'm finally pregnant and I'm so nervous.
I had 2 embryos transfered so there is a chance it could be twins. I have the heart beat scan in 2 weeks so I guess I'll find out then.
Yep I'm a Ballarat IVF girl, with both DD and this pregnancy so if you have any questions I'll be happy to help, we live 30 minutes south west of Ballarat.
I underwent 1 full stim cycle and then 3 FET's to get DD and then another 2 FET's to now be pregnant with our twin boys. You never know with having 2 embryo's transferred what could happen. In all of our 5 FET's in total we always had 2 embryo's transferred (we had lots on ice) and on this last time we have twins, although I didn't think it was twins until our scan as my HCG levels for both pregnancies were similar. With DD my HCG was 305 and progesterone was 80 and just one baby, this time around my HCG was 351 and progesterone 95 and we are having 2. Because we have found out they are both boys we will not know if they are identical or fraternal until they are born as either both embryo's worked or only one did and then split.

Sounds like you were lucky with so many embryos. I only got 1 embryo in my first cycle, then got 4 in my 2nd which allowed me to have my one frozen transfer (2 embryos each time) and then on my 3rd cycle only 2 embryos so had them both transfered.
How far through your pregnancies was Ballarat IVF still involved? At the moment I am having weekly appointments to pick up my progesterone but what happens down the track? I haven't thought to ask them about that.

Leabie, this one's belly is always measuring big too! Her head usually measures small, but the OB said not to get excited about that since the head measurement is highly influenced by bub's position. Plus, my mother likes to constantly remind me that my head wasn't the problem - my shoulders were...

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL. As I said to DH after midnight, this is our year. We've waited our turn and it's going to be an exciting, challenging year, but our 2 human household becomes 3 in 2011. . . plus our 3 cats and 1 dog...oooh 7 heartbeats!!
I hope you don't mind me hyjacking your thread for a second, but I've just got a BFP today after Oi cycle with gonal f, ovidrel trigger and pregnyl luteal phase support. I'm a little unsure about whether I need a specialised OB, I have trouble getting past 6 weeks usually, although I have one gorgeous DS who's 4. I feel different this time, I'm so tired and all the right symptoms which I often haven't had with the last 3 pg. Can anyone give me some advice about what I need to do from here? My FS is away for a few more weeks yet, and I'm trying hard to take each day as it comes but I"M A LITTLE FRANTIC!!!
I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong place, but I'd love your advice.
Is there anyone else working at your clinic? I know my actual doctor is away at the moment but some of the nurses are there and they have been able to answer my questions.
Have you had any tests done to determine why the other pregnancies haven't lasted beyond 5 weeks? I would definately be requesting a blood test to see what your levels are and that might determine if you need extra progesterone support or other drug/hormone support.
Bec, congratulations on your BFP. I hope you get to bring home a healthy baby at the end of this one. If you can't speak to anyone at your clinic, perhaps speak to your GP? Perhaps they can recommend an OB who specialises in high-risk pregnancies?
Renee, sorry to hear you're still waiting. I was hoping bub may have decided to interrupt your new years plans.
