great news possums!!!
Juniper - love the pic in your sig!!! come over to the parently after LTTC thread woman!!!
kelly - OMG that must be scary to think they need to be double in size! but do remember our bodies are made for this. I get so tired with DS and I've only got one kid inside me so i really feel for you... and the tanties! yep they arrived here a couple of weeks ago... same thing, just goes floppy and screams... not squeals at the top of his voice. All I can say is go to the grapes if you are shopping as that'll shut em up for an aisle or two lol
-
grub and kelly- those tantrums sound testing! hang in there

ok ladies scan went well! it was the best moment ever! but they are saying im only 5 weeks and 5 days when i thought i was 7 weeks today? thats what the clinic told me. Did anyone else have this prob? the heart beat was 101 pm and bub is 1.1cm :0) it was amazing to see the heart beat xxxxx
-
Hi everyone
Hope you are all well, sorry have been missing lately have been ill with a cough then a virus then away on holidays. Had a temperature last night and woke up sweating so I hope everything is alright with bub, my next appointment is Thursday though. Its hard waiting a month between appointments now.
WW - Huge Congratulations so glad your little girl arrived safe and sound.
Oneday - Belated congratulations, have seen you a little in the IVF 2 WW threads and am so excited all is going well atm. So good to see the heartbeat.
Big Hello to everyone else! Hope to catch up more soon!!
-
Worrywart - Yay Yay Yay! That's the best news ever. Huge Congrats on the safe arrival of baby Anna. I have everything crossed for your BF. I'm sure it will work out for you.
Oneday - Try not to panic (I know I know....hard). If the clinic were happy with everything and you got a strong heartbeat then it all sounds very positive. I know that my dates changed a lot in the first couple of scans, and I had quite a few leading up to the 12 week mark. Sending you hugs and positive vibes to get through the crazy 1st tri and everything that goes along with that ;)
I take my hat off to you ladies who have little ones to care for and another on the way. I feel as if this is going to be my only one so I may never know what it's like trying to balance all of that. You're doing a great job!
AFM - MS is backing off. But what is making me gag is this constant phlegm dripping down the back of my throat. For some reason it sets off my gag reflexes. So unless I spend all day trying to hack it up, it becomes very difficult. ALLERGIES!!!! AAAARGH!!! Tummy is looking like I'm bloated after a huge feed. Just waiting for my 1st appt with OB on Monday. Not sure he'll do a scan with my low lying placenta??? I did something the other day and pulled a muscle in my tummy. At first I thought I'd done something to that placenta - it freaked me out!!!
Also, does anyone else have really vivid, adventurous dreams? Gosh just about ever night is another one. I can't ever remember having so many of these active dreams!!! It's kind of fun, but also exhausting.
-
Aimee- sorry you havent been well, best of luck for your next appt...I find it tough waiting for appointments too
oneday- glad you had a good scan! I am not sure about the difference in your measurements... I think with IVF, your dates (ie 7 weeks) are normally pretty accurate, because the guesswork of when you ovulated etc is taken out. Did they give you any possible explanations? If you have any questions you can always call your clinic or FS...I find asking is better than worrying, even on small things. Seeing the heartbeat is a good sign...maybe your bub just implanted a bit later than usual, hence being a bit behind. Or there can just be variations in dates sometimes. when do you have your next scan now?
jaki- thinking of you, not long now!
afm- returned to yoga last night (was waiting until 14 weeks and second tri) and can feel it today! lol...felt good to stretch and breath though ...
-
good on you possums for getting back inot the yoga! that'll serve you so well throughout the pregnancy and birth :)
oneday - i had been given three different dates - june 26, july 1 and now june 23. At my 12 week scan i showed a week ahead! all this with FET so they knew exactly when what was put in where lol. so long as bub has good hb and continues to grow strong, it's all good. but there seems to be a fair bit of discrepancy in these things.
aimee - are you feeling better hun? that sounds horrid. yeah I hate waiting for appointments. I finally have one tomorrow - was supposed to be a fortnight ago but a little cyclone cancelled it! i'll get the results of my 20 week scan, done nearly a month ago! pft
oh jaki - just post when you can hun. and get some sleep oxx
omg MindHugs - that sounds feral! i find my gag reflex is super sensitive with this pregnancy. wasn't with DS but this one, i've got a terribly weak tummy. but hey, if it isn't one thing it's another with pregnancy!! hope you have at least one week where you just feel wonderful! Oh with the tummy muscle thing, mine are always 'pulling' or 'spasming' ... when i sneeze, when i get up too quick, when i swim, cough, turn too quick, pick up ds etc etc it's just all those ligaments stretching but OMG they hurt soooo bad.
And dreams - yeah i always have really weird and vivid dreams (who am i kidding i have a terribly overactive imagination and have always been known for my weirdo dreams, which i remember so well.. have a reoccuring one where bill cosby and I save the world from aliens who invade via alcohol and computer screens... just before i wake, bill and i are riding into the sunset chewing on grass and tobacco hahahaha had this dream at least 3 times i remember)... sorry off the track... yep, weird, strange dreams esp when preg. With DS I dreamed i gave birth... to a puppy.. in fact a litter, and ate the placenta! charming lol.
We just got back from a tour and talk at the birth centre. OMG it's so beautiful and i'm so excited about birthing there. The rooms are huge, with double beds, a huge big bath, music, oil burners, a private garden and everything! the midwives were beautiful! i feel so lucky to have gotten into this program :)
-
mindhugs- i think we posted at the same time before...glad the MS is backing off for you now, although the gag reflux sounds awful! yes, I have had vivid dreams also. best of luck with your first appt. I can understand you worrying when you pulled that muscle, I am exactly the same ;-)
grub- so glad the tour of the birth centre went well...sounds great! well done on getting into that program
just a quick question...has anyone here done, or is anyone planning to do a calmbirth course? I hear they are very worthwhile. Just not sure how expensive they are, but I am hopeful DH and I can do one
-
CONGRATULATIONS on Anna's safe arrival WW  and welcome to the unplanned c-section club ;)
I hope you persevere with the BF, it does get easier and painfree, just give it some time.
-
oh girls my new baby jogger city select just arrived!!! yyyyiiiipppeeeeeee :) it was so easy to put together! i'm so excited!!
-
Congrats WW and welcome Anna! As I keep saying the c-section is just a means to an end and your beautiful girl is proof of the right move.
Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well. Well done on some great scans!
Re dates and stuff, my OB says that they don't change the due date based on scans as long as the scan is within reasonable limits of the original dates. Ie, DS at around 20 weeks measured a few weeks ahead, but slowed down later on, and they always kept the original due date. He wouldn't have come out on his own at term - he was still floating around, head very high, at 40 weeks.
In relation to FETs, the way they calculate it is date of transfer, LESS the number of days of the embryo (eg 5 day blast) PLUS 38 weeks. I had a feeling my FS nurse had stuffed it up so I aksed my OB (who is also my FS) yesterday and we worked it through and he agreed (and it meant that my scans made much more sense!. So my due date has been brought forward as the original one was never correct. So yipee I've just "ticked over" 5 days! So anyway, I can't remember who was unsure of dates but try working it out that way and see if that matches what the FS has said because they occasionally do make mistakes :wall:
Ooh Grub - is that a double pram? I need one too! Although DS flat out refuses to sit in his at the moment if I get to the shops and try to put him in it's a screaming fit. Very embarassing!
Well, my c-section is all booked and it looks like I will be meeting my little one in under 18 weeks - eek!!!
Oh, and also meant to say, DH and I love watching this show called Ninja Warrior on SBS two - and everytime we do my belly Ninja starts kicking heaps. Too funny :)
-
Hey ladies i rang the clinic and she said its very common for the scan to show a week either side, i asked what to do about my 12 weeks scan if i should make it a later date but she said no keep it as it is so the next scan will be on the 5th of april. Im going to my local GP on monday to see what she thinks she may want me to have another scan in a few weeks? Im not worried about the bub being too small i just didnt want my dates put back a week cause now its longer till the 12 week mark but oh well. She said its right because i told her when the embryo was put in so it dosnt go off the menstral cycle but embryology age and thats what she worked it out to be off her little circle thingy? i dont know its too confusing for me lol will just see what the DR says.
-
Hi all,
CONGRATULATIONS worrywart!!! Amazing story - I got all teary too. Hope you are loving every minute of being with her
Oneday - My dates have changed from original IVF date to 6 week scan and now, to the 12 week scan. So, I have skipped a week. I guess it all evens out along the way. Your GP should fill you in on what to do if worried though.
Possums - how awesome that all is going well! How cool is that little heartbeat too. I did a calmbirth course with #1 and found it fantastic. Highly highly highly recommend it (not that my birth was in any way calm)
Bug's mum - hilarious!!! I'm going to watch it - won't be nearly as funny without a ninja on the inside though
Grub - woohoo on the baby jogger. How excitement! I am also very jealous of your birth centre. It sounds gorgeous
So sorry ladies - only halfway through but DS just won't sleep and I can't keep track of what I'm writing. I'll do a proper one tomorrow
Take care xxoo

yeah it's a double pram :) A lovely BB lady gave me the most awesome website... the pram itself (not including the toddler seat) retails for about $950-990 here in Oz but I was given this webstie for a NZ store that sells it at $660 Oz AND ships free to Oz! So all up I got the pram cheaper than a strider or a phil and teds, which were the sort i was after... but this one does all terrain and has heaps of different seat positions for the kids. So i'm pretty chuffed... mind you only had it for a few hours, ask me in a year! lol. But it was a lot of money to spend and our justification was, it is the only money we are spending for this 2nd child! (poor kid, lol).
off to bed, if my DH hasn't stunk the room out... ugh not sure what he ate but he's killing me! MEN! I'm on the only one that is allowed to do such things and I have an excuse!
*** forgot to add that if you want the site, just pm me :)
-
grub- pram sounds great!..well done on the good price too...it really is worth shopping around
oneday- so glad you called and got some more answers, I find it always helps (and is better than worrying)...sounds like dates can change throughout...so happy things are all on track so far...your next scan will be an exciting one too!
kaybee- hope you are doing ok...thanks for the feedback on the course, will definitely look into it
bugsmum- love your ninja story...and i bet that 18 weeks will go fast...in fact, now that I am past 12 weeks, it seems time is moving faster
kelly- hope you are feeling OK this week
mindhugs- wishing you some easier weeks ahead, when you can feel a lot better
hi everyone else

Hi loverlies
Possums thanks so much for checking on me. I am doing well, hcg levels were good and had a scan on monday and saw the gestational sac. Though size wise it was measuring 3 days behind and no yolk sac visible so trying not to stress and not google too much. I have another scan in two weeks so will be lying low until I feel a bit more confident and see heart beat etc.
I am embarrassed that I can't do persies but am trying to read and keep up. Xx

Hi Girls
Just popping in to say hello. Not much happening here, just that I think I'm now really over this pregnancy already... It doesn't help that DD is getting another lot of molars cut through as is being a real cranky so and so. I'm so tired, exhausted and physically drained and have no idea how I'm going to cope for another 10+ weeks, I really wanted to enjoy being pregnant this time around as it will be the last time I'll ever be pregnant, but it's just not happening. If I had bad pregnancies both times it would make sense, but *touch wood* I've had trouble free pregnancies (apart from my hossy visit for rest), I think I'm just feeling a bit flat and would really love some time out to just think about doing something for me, which I can't do for another week and a half as my parents are away on holidays so I have to wait for them to come back to take DD for a few hours for me.
Anyway, that's my whinge for the day. I hope everyone else is good and growing nice bellies....
