afm: well i have a bit of a cold or something, runny nose sometimes and i am feeling really really tired especially in the arvo time ?
i think growing babies is taking it out of my body.
11 days til scan
we may be moving into our rumpus/ garage in the next week, a bit early and then taking a break from building our house for a little while. our house is not started yet but our garage will fit us all in there and it's just like a house on the inside. even got a spa and double shower heads over.
i'm so excited to have some more room.
our house will be built someday..............................
Elocin - I'm so sorry it didn't work out this time. I really hope that you don't have to go through any more crap before it's your turn. All the best - see you back here soon xo
JBM - so jealous on the building a new house thing. Wow. We are thinking about trying to sell later in the year when the weather gets warmer again (our house is so cold and damp in winter) and would LOVE to build a new one somewhere - but that's just it isn't it - finding a nice block somewhere. Is it far from where you are now? Sounds like you've got all the important things planned - spa and shower!
Just a quick question for you all (yeah yeah, all about me) - how often is it normal to get those belly tightenings? I don't think they're called braxton hicks this early on are they? Not sure, but just wondering how often you all get them. You see I when I was pg with DS I had a threatened prem labour and had to go into hospy for a week at 26 weeks (all worked out fine and he was born full term, phew!). And now, I am 26 weeks and have been having these thightenings, which I think are normal, but then I go through these periods where they come every few minutes and I am starting to worry. Tell me it's all normal and your bellies all do the same thing, please
Elocin - I'm so so sorry bug hugs, I can't say anything to make it better but thinking of you.
Kaybee - I get them all the time (3 or 4 a day) and if its when I'm lying down I can see the whole shape of my uterus when it goes tight/hard. But if they are coming at regular intervals I would ring your midwife/ob and talk about it. I think (i could be wrong) but if hey come to regularly they can bring on labour. Hope that helps and hope they settle down for you.
kaybee i always thought that if they were uncomfy or painful in any way to see your mw or doc. otherwise if painless they are fine. but i'm not sure. I get them very irregularly, that or don't notice them so can't be much help.
hope everyone has a lovely day. DS and i started ours with a walk on a goregous morning. DH slept in pft and has probably forgotten it's MD
grub: typical hey. hope your mothers day gets better. happy mothers day to you. x
aimee: hope you are doing well, i have a while to go before i get any of those tightenings. lol. good luck to you
kaybee: we are living in a temporary transportable unit on our block and have been here a little while, but decided we needed more room. i designed the house, changed my mind about 1000 million times lol. but i can't wait to start building, but need a break while i am preggers and have baby/ babies. ha ha. dunno about the tightenings as it was 8 years since i was preg last and cant remember? lol
good luck to you anyways.
it's a little quiet in here atm
hi to everyone i forgot
afm: well nothing new. i got a preg book and was reading about how big my babies are atm, i can't wait til my scan. 10 days to go now....
i have acupuncture booked for friday and my acu lady is the most gorgeous acu lady ever. this will be my first acu since finding out pregnancy. i love it as it is so relaxing.
one of my boys made me a bookmark with picture of bra and undies on it ?, lol, cause i wear these thngs he said. so cute.
i am making a roast turkey thigh for tonight and i got some of the vegies ready last night. i would rather cook dinner and have something thats not spag bol. lol. i do luv you DH, but spag bol every time can become boring. x x
my sis and i are organising a weekend away for us with NO kids in the next month or so, she is due mid oct and is about 16 weeks now. i cant wait as we don't see each other all that often. she lives other end of tassie. :-(
jbm - at your mum's day gift. how adorable! that's definitely one to show him in 20 years' time. just too cute.
well i feel mean cos while it took til 10am for DH to remember it was MD, he did actually get me a beautiful brand new expensive nappy bag i had my eye on for awhilhe it was even wrapped! and there was a card from ds
i've just sent him off to fetch morning tea for us lol. I also got three gorgeous kisses, and I mean proper puckered lips kisses (not open mouthed, drool soaked tonguies haha) from Ashton. Oh first time mummies, i just can't tell you enough how beautiful children are... especially at that gorgeous toddler stage (even with the tanties lol).
we are heading off this arvo for a sunset picnic at the beach. so i'm really looking forward to that and letting ash play in the sand (sand, apparently, ROCKS MAN!).
Grub - so sweet kisses, glad you ended up having a good day with DH and DS!
JBM - thankyou, cute present, I also made roast turkey thingy for our mothers day dinner with my mum on Friday - it was so good, now I want turkey all the time!!! So exciting to be building your own design! We are also building but I don't think ours will be ready before bub either. Can't wait to hear your news after your scan aswell and see how many bubs are hiding in there.
Oneday - your scan must be soon, exciting!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one with the ovary pain. They checked my ovaries at my scan and said they were still huge, they might check on yours too for you. Hope it goes well! I think we did our classes about 26 weeks ish too, its good to do them just incase you are early for some reason I think? Hope they go well though, mine freaked me out completely! I also have a doppler, I didn't buy one with my other too but this time have found it very reassuring, haven't used it in a few weeks though as I can feel baby alot now (I'm 24 weeks).
MH - I think we might actually have the same c-section date! that ob bill is a killer. Yay for new pram though, so exciting to be thinking about your little man who'll be riding in it! Hope you're feeling better this week, I had a few emotional/irrational weeks but think I'm back to normal-ish now, so hope it doesn't last long.
Kelly - Goodluck for Wednesday! Wow so surreal still, enjoy lots of cuddles and I hope you get some rest between now and c-day.
Kaybee - Hope the tightenings have settled down for you!
Trishy - hope you're feeling better.
DR - hope you're feeling better with your cold and gall bladder pain
Possums - hope your holiday is going well and the pounding eases!
Hi Kass, williever, baby dreamtime and anyones else I've missed, hope you're all well.
AFM - am starting to have trouble bending, and I had something to ask about but have forgotten now, can't wait to tell my little ones about the baby but they are not good at understanding time concepts yet, DD thinks my tummy is big because I've been eating lots of food - lol.
Oh breastfeeding, I failed to produce milk with my girls (even took motilium after dd2), but am hoping this time is different. Does anyone know anything about PCO and how it affects breastfeeding? I know its not that big of a deal if I can't but I want to try to breastfeed baby. I figure if I can't produce eggs or lining properly because of hormonal problems, that is probably why I can't produce milk too? Does that make sense? But I've heard people say that your body produces milk better each time and I know other women who've had IVF and have breastfed. But I'm not sure what their fertility problems related to.
aimee - i have pcos and never had trouble feeding. Scratch that, the only trouble i had was having a toad of a child who had better things to look at than feed! But i breast fed ds for 7.5 months and could have gone for longer but had to go back onto that horrid metformin before we tried for this bub.
I have never heard of ivf or infertility affecting feeding, nor has it occured to me but someone else might have an idea???
our DS is only 16.5 months old, so he's just too little to understand. I tell him there's a "baby in mummy's tummy" and point out babies whenever we see one. I've also been holding newborns at the various playgropus we go to, at first he was jealous, now he comes up for a look, pats the bub and usually goes away quite happy. but you can't tell how much he's comprehending as he doesn't talk ... well if you don't count duck, mummy, daddy and car!
Hi ladeis, i hope all you mums had a nice mothersday and the mothers to be also got some spoiling!
Aimee my scan is next thursday 19th so so excited! cant wait to find out if we are having a little boy or girl yeah i think i will ask them to check my ovaries cause sometimes they are worse then others. I think i will get a doppler i just want to make the most of this pg incase its my last!
oh oneday that's so exciting! but word to the wise... the decision on whether we'd find out the sex was completely taken out of our hands at our 20 week scan when the cheeky little monkey crossed it's legs, put it's hands over it's groin area and the umbilical chord was also through the legs!!! so triple whammy!!! at first i was disappointed but it's certainly made things even more exciting!!! But had drastically cut my ability to shop lol. So i just wanted to warn you to be prepared JIC. WE only have the one scan being public so you may have another opportunity if your bub doesn't cooperate. Good Luck!!! ox
grub: hopefully you get another scan before bub is born and he/ she bahaves for this one. lol. yeah the mothers day presents sure get fun as they get past being babies, you too will have some of these. my first 2 are only 21 months apart and DS 1 was great with baby . but when i had number 3 he was almost 4 and i got him a cabbage patch doll so he would leave Ds 3 alone. lol.... he even breast fed her. lol. i am so going to make my kids have councelling. lol. ha ha ha. only joking. good luck to you.
oneday: how exciting !!! your scan is one day after mine but mine is only the 6.5 week scan. lol so prob wont see much. good luck to you and hope all goes well for the scan.x
aimee: yeah the trouble bending , i remember that. lol. i used to think fat people must feel like this all the time.. not being able to do up your shoe laces etc, and how hard it must be. hope it's not too hard for you. as for the bf thing i dunno the answer to that one. but good luck anyways. i love it that your daughter thinks you're just fat. lol. ha ha. i love it. good luck to you
to all those i forgot : hi to you and hope all is well.
afm: well it's not like i'm counting down til my scan.... 8 days to go now..... but i'm not counting ?!!!!. lol... much ha ha ha
i have still been a bit emotional and grumpy with DH a bit. lol. and no DTD cause i'm just too tired ALL the time ? so he is really miserable. ha ha ha ha ha. lol. i am so mean. lol
i hope the tiredness thing passes soon as it is so hard to work and do stuff for the family and everything else that wonder woman does when i am tired.
i have acu on fri so she may have some ideas for me
i have been going to bed early every night and still feel tired.
hey jbm cos we are going public, the 20 week scan was our only peak. so im so excited to actually find out. but all alaong we've had girl vibes but really don't mind cos i love little boys
Aimee - I've heard that about PCOS but I'm really not sure what the story is. I've got it too and have had plenty of milk. Perhaps there are other factors involved? Have you talked to a lactation consultant or maybe even give the ABA a call. They may have some advice for you.
Motillium will only work if the problem is with a lack of prolactin.
Hi All!
I am a little apprehensive about posting in here...
Anyhow.. After numerous strong BFP over the last couple of days I went and had an early BT as the wait was killing me! So at 12dp3dt (1 embie) my HCG came back at 151 so the FS has declared me pregnant!!! I'm having another BT tomorrow to see if numbers are doubling so I may begin to believe once I get those results!
No sign of AF, had a little bit of spotting for a couple of days but that has all stopped now.
So hopefully I'll be here to stay. EDC is 13 Jan 2012
