oh aimee - i've been a complete grumpy biatch for most of this pregnancy but i also cry at the drop of a hat. It's awful isn't it, you dont' feel like you can control yourself. I've given up trying to "protect'' anyone cos i'm just so far over it... so i might offer a warning but too bad. Your MIL sounds like a cow by the way so big hugs there maybe if you cried in front of her she might pull her head in. Does your DH stand up for you? I find they always do the snide comments in private with no audience iykwim.
One thing i find helps me focus is a bit of meditation or whatever you want to call it. I just stand under the shower and breath and try to clear my mind etc... or going for a walk or something like that might help you?
not much to report. bub likes chocolate lol mum sent us a choc fondue set and we indulged last night... mmmmmm so good!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great easter :)
Grub - swelling doesn't sound too nice! Hope it calms down a bit for you
Dreamrise - That sounds very uncomfortable. Glad you had some help getting home. Hopefully it will settle down enough that surgery can wait
Kelly - wow! Hopefully it's not too much longer for you :)
Hi Aimee, mindhugs, kaybee, possums, trishy, bugsmum, oneday, jbm
I'm sure I've missed people - there's a lot going on here!
Nothing to report for me. No symptoms - I'm finding it hard to believe it's actually worked. I'm having another bt tomorrow so hopefully it's all good. Have a great week everyone!
-
hi girls!
MH- well yay for the kicks anyway...good sign!
grub- hope easter was ok despite DH having to go away...hope those feet come down! and yum chocolate!
aimee- I am a lot more emotional too! DH and I had a fight last week and I cried and cried..it was crazy (and beyond rational)
kaybee- glad you and DH talked...and I hope you can perhaps see a counsellor or something. I know what you mean about brushing things aside sometimes...they do tend to bubble back up, so I hope you can sort through those issues
and bummer about the GD! hope it's not too hard to manage
DR- that sounds very uncomfortable and scary fo r you- hope you can get treatment, sorry I dont have advice to offer you. Glad the heartbeat is nice and strong.
JBM- fingers crossed for you!!
kelly- thinking of you and hopefully soon!
kass- good luck with the BT..it's all a bit surreal early on
and hello to anyone I have missed!!
afm- all going well...feeling well and feeling more movement now, still sporadic, but I love to feel him moving in there! DH can't wait until he can feel something too. I noticed a bit of wriggling after I ate an easter egg last night :-)
clinic appt tomorrow, so will get blood results and also get to hear the heartbeat again. maybe will get more of an answer for the heartbeat still pounding in my head too.
am busy at work at the moment, but DH and I head away tomorrow arvo...won't be online much for the next couple of weeks, but will pop in when I can to check for news!
-
hi girls, just a very quick one as DH and I are on the road now and I am on his work computer just briefly....I just wanted to hear any advice/feedback after my clinic appt yday...
Basically, this time actually saw an Ob (my Ob actually) ....she was concerned that the pounding head thing is continuing and hadn't heard of it as a symptom before (altho obviously reading on this site it certainly can be- as I posted about this and got plenty of replies!)...anyway, because my maternal aunt died from a bleed on the brain, she wants to do a CT scan of my head just to rule out anything nasty, that could be only making itself more noticed now with my extra blood flow. I know it's just a precaution and all is probably fine, but it gave me a bit of a scare when she started talking about the possible scenarios if they did find a clot or anything...ie go in for an early c-section delivery and then surgery for me....she just rattled those things off to me, then smiled and said, right now lets listen for a heartbeat shall we? I could hear his heartbeat nice and strong but by then I was a bit distracted!
anyway, hopefully it's just double checking all possibilities and I think all is ok.
I'll have the scan as soon as we return from our hols.
a big hi to everyone...will pop in here to check on all your updates while away when I can get onto DHs work computer :-)
-
omg possums! at least she's taking it seriously but that sounds very scary. why can't things just go nice and smooth for you??? you ssssooo deserve it lovely. Drive safe and try not to let worry overshadow your get away.
im still here girls, lurking. don'thave much to report. have a midwife appnt this morn so might post later. but i think the most exciting thing will be hearing the heartbeat and stopping DS from dismantling the office. *sigh* it'd be so great to have my family around for this sort of thing so i could just drop him over to nan or aunty for the morning.

Oh possums what a scare! But as Grub said at least they are taking it seriously - much better to be on the safe side. Try not to worry and I'm sure everything will be fine.
LOL grub re the dismantling the office. I luckily have my mum come and look after my little cyclone while I have my weekly scans and OB appoints. Speaking of which I have one this morning so better get a move on!
Nothing much here, DS has a rotten cold so I am trying hard not to catch it. Hope everyone is going well - Kass how did your blood test go?
-
Possums - hang on, didn't you just get back from a babymoon? Another hol already? I gotta get me some of your lifestyle girlfriend!!! Sincerely hope the pounding sound in your head is nothing much to worry about. Fingers crossed for you. Enjoy your break and let us know how it all goes ;)
DR - I had gallstones 2 years ago. I chose to flush them out using naturopathy. I must have dropped over 100 stones I reckon - yuk! But yes, you do get referred pain under the ribs, although that is not where your gallbladder is located. It's below your liver and above your appendix. I hope this works out for you too. Take care of yourself. That pain can get very excruciating. The thing you don't want is for it to turn into pancreatitis, that's when it gets real nasty. Keep an eye on the colour of your pee. If it starts to look like Coca Cola go straight to the emergency ward.
Kass - welcome to you. Drop by anytime!!!
Grub - hey you. I have no fam nearby and my DH doesn't get home from work until 7pm. Panic panic panic!!! It's all starting to dawn on me. Who do I drop baby off to when I am having a meltdown??? Good luck with the midwife app.
Kelly - you still with us? Bubs still snug inside? Hope you're doing ok. Can't believe you are measuring past 50 weeks!!!
JBM - thinking of you too.
AFM - my family exhausted me over easter. Hello, I'm pregnant, care to lend a hand anyone??? Hmmm, slack! My niece and nephew were so buzzed up on chocolate they painted my house brown with their grubby little choc fingers!!! I was glad when it was all over. 3 nights of mayhem was too much. I sat on the couch yesterday just staring at the wall. The wind has picked up here and it only causes my mucous to increase, which sets off the gag reflex. Ah the joys!!!
-
Also - I read in another forum that tickers are out and they are issuing violation warnings if you don't remove. Did I miss something? Is that true? Why? I waited so long to fall pregnany and proudly display my ticker............. :(
-
Minhugs I'm pretty sure that's just the new rules on having photos in our signatures or avatars....
Oh, and how nice it would be for people to make allowances for you when pregnant! Uh-uh girlfriend, not in my land either. Apart from my mum, everyone else sees DH and I as the patsies and stands around waiting for us to do everything, and that's with me pregnant AND a toddler running around. Sigh....
-
Yep still here..
It must the day for appt's as I have my Ob one this afternoon and will be bringing up my long list of complaints that I am suffering from. Been having some more mild contractions again this morning to please let him take pity on me...
I'm lucky to have my mum & dad in Ballarat so they are happy to look after DD when I have my appt's, they even came up yesterday and looked after her for the day so I could get some rest. Although from next week it feels like the whole world will be decending on us waiting for these boys to arrive, my sis & neice are coming over from Perth in the hope I would have had the babies and then next weekend the IL's rock up to stay for a while. Mmmm I know they want to come and see the babies but supposedly they are coming to help, but they are really no help at all and just get under my feet and expect me to do everything. Hopefully DH can step in on that one and get them to help around the house.
DR: I hope they can sort out the pain for you soon.
Possums: You are having such a rough trott, hopefully it is just the Ob being overcautious with everything else you've been through. Hope you can enjoy your break - again - and everything will be sorted when you get home.
Oh well, better get moving for the day. It is so hard to do everything now that even thinking about doing stuff wears me out...
-
kelly, i know you don't agree but i'm glad you are still here with us! fingers crossed things get moving soon tho :) OMG what is it about families?? I hope your DH stands up to your IL better than mine does. It really is just not on to go to a house where there are small children and a preggy mum or newborn and expect to be treated like an honoured guest - MINDHUGS, I would have gone mental. Mind you we just had FIL and uncle here for about four or five days, and they wouldn't leeave the house (dh was working and i've never met uncle before) and just wanted to go everywhere with me!!!
anyhoo, you probably remember i had a mini meltdown a while back regarding the ILs visiting post baby. It's still up in the air. No one has mentioned it again since the last discussion that maybe in August (which I felt was a major compromise on my part but no one else seems to care, they are all too worried about how MIL will feel! pft)
We are planning a sept visit down their way so hopefully that'll do the trick. Having the visitors here last week really showed me why I don't want my ILs here straight away. They just don't do anything and I've got to constnatly ask for help. ggrrrr. it's not done nasty just they don't think to help iykwim.
sorry off on a tangent.
yeah bug's mum, i think that. I got an infraction notice for my signature i've had for ages and it was just all too hard with what i can and can't have and font sizes and pictures or not and whatever so i just really couldn't be bothered to put anything there now as my preggy brain is just not operating at maximum efficiency lol.
ok well appnt went well. DS just doesn't like the midwife touching me tho lol. but he sat up on the table with me for the measuring etc and was a pretty good boy. Loved hearing the heartbeat and the midwife gave me a foot massage!!! bonus!!!!

mindhugs I have another auskicker here, maybe we can start a footy team lol.
JBM any news?
Hi Aimee, yep another emotional rollercoaster here too.
Kass how did your blood test go?
possum glad your ob is taking things seriously and hope for a positive outcome for you, with nothing serious.
bugsmum hope your DS is better soon and you stay well
mindhugs, my inlaws are like that. Just sit there and waiting for me to make coffee tea etc. Pffff go thirst I say. I got asked to make mine smaller here got a private message by the mods so all my angels and IVF stuff I took off.
KellyD hope the doctor took pity on you

Hi Girls
Just a quickie from me... I have a new end date for these boys to arrive, yay...
My Ob is predicting they will come sometime next week but if not he said he will take pity on me and bring my c/s date forward by a week to the 11th May. So that means worst case I only have 13 days left (including today) and would be 37 weeks 4 days so after our week stay in hospital they should be able to come home with us. I was so pushing for a fixed date next week but he wouldn't go for it, even though I was having a contraction at the time he was talking to me. Although it has now been decided that we are no longer looking at a V/B as basically as at Saturday I'm classified as full term and also as twin b has decided to flip again from tranverse and he is now back to being breech a c/s is the best option all around.
-
Hi ladies sorry i havnt been around, went to queensland for a wedding which was great :)
Kelly how exciting not much longer to go!!!!!
I have my first midwives appointment next thursday which im very excited about lol and only 3 more weeks till we find out the sex!!!
-
hi...online briefly again...just wanted to say thanks for the support everyone...and yep, lucky to be on this break on the back of a work trip for DH! (and after our recent long weekend)
kelly- hang in there!
take care everyone x
-
Kelly,
so glad you have an earlier date now, though I understand why you want it earlier still. I couldn't imagine being as big as you are and still having another 11 days to wait.
Possums,
I know how hard it can be worrying about what might be but hopefully these scans will help put your mind at ease.
Hi everyone else.
AFM: I had a midwife appointment today and told them about my holiday and my visits to Berri and Mildura hospitals etc so I was referred to another Dr. Anyway the end result was they still insist it's not from bub but don't know what it is. At least the pain has subdued alot (only had a few bouts of a pain around 6 or 7 out of 10 yesterday and today was only a few around 5 - lot better than my 3 attacks of pain around 10 out of 10 in a 90minute period when I was driving from Berri to Mildura).
Lori
DD - 14
Bub due 28th Aug (possibly a girl)
-
Kelly glad your date has been moved forward.
oneday good luck with your appointment with the MW
possum enjoy the rest of your break
Lori glad to hear the pain isnt as bad but a 7 is still pretty bad.
