lori, hope they sort it out soon.
hi trishy :)
kelly, that's such great news! now you'll be saying "oh it's happening too quick'' lol you know what its like.
better go, i'm being harrassed by a 16 mnth old
-
Yay JBM! I'm sure this one is it!
dreamrise - glad the pain has subsided. Hope it continues to go
Kelly - glad they've moved you forward! I'm looking forward to seeing your ba!
Possums - that sounds scary, but I'm sure it's just a worst case scenario and everything will be fine. It's good that they're taking it seriously - at least when you've had the test you'll know for sure that nothing is wrong!
Hi oneday, trishy, grub, aimee, bugsmum, mindhugs
My bt was fine - thanks for asking :) My first scan is next Tuesday, and hopefully then I'll be able to relax a bit!
-
Hey all
Ooh JBM it's sounding good!! How exciting! Can't wait for you to join us in here
Kass - glad to hear all going well, not long til the scan
Kelly - not long now darl, how exciting you are so close!!
Well I had an OB appoint yesterday and got a royal bollocking from the midwife for not going to hospi on Monday when bub was really quiet. DS was asleep and DH was not home so I didnt really have any option but to sit it out and cry.. I got in trouble BIG time! But lots of movement again now but will be 30 weeks next week and from then on have to take reduced movement very seriously so I have promised to be good. I also think I have SPD - that pelvic/pubic whatever it is. It is so so painful and each day is just getting worse, so any household things or anything to do with DS is killing me. Unfortunately with DH's ridiculous work hours I'm on my own so I've got icepacks on the ready and hoping it doesnt get worse from here.
Sigh... the things we do to have kids!
-
OOOHHH JBM, that's so exciting. With both my successful pregnancies I got second lines at 6dpt of day 3's so looking fantastic. I wonder if you will take over from me then as being the Twin mummy in this forum, we have to have at least one twin pregnancy in here. Fingers crossed for you...
WE MADE IT....
36 weeks today everyone... WOOHOO... So we are now technically full term and after all the drama's we had in the past 6-7 weeks I am so amazed we managed to get here and even though I feel like c**p I can't tell you how much my mindset has changed knowing worse case is that we have 11 more sleeps max. DH is also excited as he only has 7 more days of work before he then has 5-6 weeks off, although he will then be doing different types of work at home lol...
-
Hi everyone,
another quick one from me only because I have a tonne of housework to do.
Kelly - that's awesome, yay you've done so well to make it this far, I can't wait to hear about your precious babies arrival!!!
Grub , thanks for your understanding, I think I'm ok now, can't believe how irrational I was (now that I'm thinking normally but am sure it will happen again). Yay for foot massage, sorry to hear about your uncertainty with the in-laws visit.
kass- Congrats on a great bt result! hope your scan goes well!
possums - thanks am glad to know I'm not the only one, enjoy your time away, will be thinking of you with you scan and hoping everything is ok!
hi bug's mum - ho scary, sorry to hear about that, i think these babies should be given a manual with how regularly to kick their mummies so we know they are ok! hope you're hanging in there ok and glad everything was alright!
MH - love your new avvy! thats so bad about not having any help from your visitors! how crazy and annoying.
Hi trishy - I just read your ticker and had a little chuckle!
DR - hope they can work out something for that pain - how scary
Oneday - wow you're going along so well, the 18-20 week scans (like all of them) are so exciting!!! Hope it goes well and will be looking out for your news!
Hi to kaybee and anyone else i've missed hope you're going well!
ok so that wasn't terribly quick! had another massive pain attack from my ovaries - excruciating!!! after 2 hours of horrible intense early morning pain i had dh phone the ambulance as i couldn't take it anymore and it just disappeared again so crazy! I was already booked in to see my Ob so I went along for my visit and he said its just my overstimulated ovaries releasing follicles. its happened 3 times now and gotten worse each time (vomitting, fainting and excruciating pain in my ovaries). Am just taking it easy and trying to cut down on sugar and keep my fluids up and go to bed early so hopefully it won't happen again! The last few times it has happened has been where I have been on my feet all day and had a late night.
Other than that am doing well, baby has some quiet days and some really active ones so its a bit confusing, and I'm still stressing about everything I eat! I can't wait for baby to be here so I don't have to worry about food anymore! My OB said I'm anaemic now too!!! Looks like I will have to start eating more meat again.
Take care everyone!
-
Oh why do I leave it so long between catch-ups in here? I bet DS wakes up now that I've just taken so long to read all of your news!
JBM - Yes!! Awesome news! Isn't it just the best feeling ever
Kelly - congrat's on getting this far with your sanity still mostly in-tact. Good luck for the big day, whenever that may be. I am honestly thinking of you hepas xoxo
Possums - just what you need - another health issue! Keep us informed. Like everyone else has said, it is all just precautionary - the ob is just guessing at options. Very glad you are feeling a bit more movement. I am often concerned about mine.
Bug's mum - glad your lazy bub has woken up a bit. Your pain sounds horrible - especially with no-one there to give you a break. Is there anything you can do about it?
Kass - best of luck for tuesday. Hope it all goes smoothly with a lovely flickering heartbeat
DR - another drama for you too!!! What's going on? It must be a bit reassuring that the pain has died down at least a little bit. I hope you can find a way to defer the surgery.
Sorry - I am rushing because I know DS will wake up any second and start firing demands at me. So, hi everyone else - mindhugs, oneday, aimee, trishy!
AFM - I got booted from the normal midwife clinic and am now at the high-risk mega long waiting time clinic. I really hope I don't have to go on insulin this time, but last time I did everything right and excercised HEAPS and my sugar was still too high. I still also get worried almost everyday about how lazy my baby is. I have friends who are several weeks behind me who say theirs just won't stop kicking, and mine is so sporadic still. I hope it just means they'll be a really chilled out newborn and that nothing is wrong. Not stressing, honestly - I know it is all fine.
Who was talking about IL's? Can't remember, but you gave me chills up my spine - how horrible that they don't help out at all. Mine live close but never visit. I feel sad for DS but on the other hand am very grateful! Anyway, he's up, better go xoxox
-
Hey ladies :)
Aimee im glad its not just me!! i mean not that bad i need to go to hospital but when i sneeze my ovaries hurt or i just get pains in them every now and again, why do they stay stimulated for so long?? my ob said its normal but would have thought they would have settled by now! i hope they carm down for you, you poor thing!
JBM a big congrats cant wait for you to join us in here, all the best for tues xx
Kelly congrats it would be great knowing at the most you have only 11 days!!!
Kass goodluck with your first scan, even know there isnt much to see at that point its still so amazing to see that little blob with a heartbeat in your body!!! something most of us start to believe we may never see xx

Hi everyone,
JBM, I hope those two lines continue to get darker and the blood test on Tuesday brings the good news you have been waiting so long for.
My pains keep coming and going - had a few brief intense attacks today. Just wish I knew what they were caused by.
I have been having problems with my housemate (who has been here for over 2 years) because I finally said no to her borrowing my car whenever she wanted (half the time she would do over 200kms and not even completely refill the tank (it was full when she borrowed it) let alone contribute towards the running costs. Now that I'm not working I need to be really careful with my money and so I told her she couldn't borrow the car and she has got ****ed with me and is acting a bit nasty. It's making it really uncomfortable. I'm not sure what to do. My parents think I need to tell her to move out but we used to be friends and I don't want it to have to come to that (plus I need the rent to help make ends meet) but I don't like feeling so uncomfortable. Any suggestions?
Lori

Hi everyone,
JBM, fingers crossed for your blood test.
I have recently found out a family friend, who is having a c-section on my birthday (end of June), got pregnant through IVF. It seems funny because they knew I was going through IVF but never once mentioned that they were too. I understand it's something most people don't broadcast but I just would have thought that when you know someone else close to your age who you have known for a long time is going through it, it would be nice to perhaps share that journey?
My mum feels a bit upset about it because the mother of the husband is my mums best friend. As such my mother had shared with her best friend all the ups and downs of my journey. I didn't mind her doing this as I know everyone needs to have some outlet to discuss things when they get you upset and to share the excitement etc. I have known the entire family since I was around 8 years old (the patriach - who is now dead used to work with my dad and they became close and as a result our two families used to hang out alot together as I was growing up). Their eldest daughter is my age, then there is a son (the one whose wife is now pregnant through IVF) who is a couple of years younger and then another younger daughter. Out of the 3 children I am now closest to the youngest daughter but growing up I was closest to the eldest and when I had my daughter I even put their eldest daughter in my will as guardian for my daughter if anything should ever happen to me. My brother was good friends with their son but I still had quite alot to do with him. I haven't had alot to do with his wife (only met her about 5 times or so as the whole family now live in Qld and we live in Vic). However I think that if she'd wanted to share her journey with me we could have become closer (she's actually older then her husband so probably around my age).
Anyway the last time we saw them all was during the 2ww for my 2nd last cycle (so one that failed). We all had lunch together and I told them that I only had a few more days to wait till my blood test and was keeping my fingers crossed. They didn't mention anything about them trying and given the fact that she is now more pregnant then me she was probably going through her successful cycle at that time (but wouldn't have known she was pregnant then). I'm not sure how long they were doing IVF - maybe it worked on their first cycle so thats why she didn't want to share?
It only came up recently the mother (my mums best friend) just casually said "they are still paying off their IVF" as if my mum would have already known they were doing IVF. My mum wanted to ask how long they had been doing it and how many cycles but felt like she couldn't. Though she did feel upset that this woman hadn't shared any of the details earlier, when my mum had. The whole pregnancy thing has been weird because mum guessed the girl was pregnant and her friend told her she wasn't allowed to confirm it and it was around 10 weeks that my mum had to pretend she didnt' know and meanwhile we had told them I was finally pregnant.
Anyway as I said I'm not close to the pregnant woman but given the friendship with her husband and his family wouldn't you have thought she might have been willing to talk to me about it? I would have loved to have known someone else I knew in real life was going through all this. The closest I had was a friend who had her baby son through IVF and he was born while I was doing IVF. My friend got pregnant on her first IVF cycle so couldn't relate to alot of what I was going through but it was still nice that she understood about the needles etc.

Bub due 28th Aug... is it a girl? I seem to be carrying more like boy... took my waist measurement yesterday and I'm bigger than I was at 26 weeks with my daughter (and I'm only 23 weeks tomorrow). In fact I'm closer to what I was with her at 35 weeks but with her I was all out in front and skinny everywhere else... I feel like my baby bump is flater and more out to the sides this time which is what I was told happens more with boys.

Just a quick one from me -
Lori, we have five close friend couples at the moment who are having trouble conceiving and may have to go down the IVF route. DH and I have discussed it many times and have agreed that we won't be saying anything to them about our own journey. In some ways it makes me feel bad, that I could possibly be helping them, but then I also feel that it is our personal business and we need to share only what we feel comfortable with. I have a few close friends that do know, and my decision to tell them was based on many factors. But I wouldn't tell someone just because they were doing the same thing, if that makes sense. We just wanted to keep things close to our chests for our sake, and our children, and it is no reflection on the people who we haven't told. So don't take it personally or think less of the couple, all people are different with how much they choose to share with others.
And I should also say, that even the people that knew that DS was an IVF bub, they don't even know with this one. We have agreed that we will never ever tell anyone, including family, whether this bub was IVF or natural. Again, we felt the whole process had blown our private life so far open, that we needed to regain some privacy for ourselves. Horses for courses!
Hi to everyone, hope you are enjoying the weekend!
-
Lori - it is such a private thing that everyone going through it approaches so differently. I've told my immediate family and one or two friends, but would die if they ever told anyone. I feel it's my story to tell to whom and when I want - if ever. I definitely understand your hurt, especially when you were so open to them. I have friends and distant family going thru IVF who have told anyone and everyone. So it really is horses for courses.
JBM - hope your going strong there. Gunning for you!!!
AFM - belly button is starting to disappear, ribs feel as though they're going to be cracked open, and I'm getting kicked in the front passage, the back passage and anywhere else it can get its little legs and elbows. I'm a first time mum, and this feels so wrong!!! Just want it all to go quickly so I can meet him. The state of being pregnant is not something I'm enjoying.......... I want control of my body back!!! Although I must say it's veeeeeeeeeeery pleasant not having monthly periods :) :) :)
-
Oh and hi to everyone else!!! Its another long weekend in Qld - yay!
-
lol mindhugs, i discovered while I was desperate to BE pregnant taht I don't acutally like the state! i LOVE the result but felt really guilty with DS to realise pretty early on, pregnancy was not my favourite state to be in. It's not glamorous, it's taxing and tiring and feels never ending - i used to feel like that was very ungrateful of me for all we'd gone through... but after speaking to lots of other mums, I've only met one or two who love it and all the others aren't such big fans... maybe if it was for a shorter time lol.
hi to all the girls. jbm fingers crossed !!!
still here all fat and cranky and eating too much chocy.
kelly!!! hoep to hear some great news soon lovely. oxoxo
-
Haha Grub - bet I could eat you under the table when it comes to chocolate! I was being all good and then went to church on Easter Sunday (I ain't religious but getting DS christened soon so doing the right thing!) and the priest was talking about the meaning of Easter and said "you can eat all the eggs you want as long as you get the true meaning (or something similar). What did I take away from that? God said I can eat ALL THE EGGS I WANT!!!!!

Im sad i had to delete my pg ticker :(
