JBM - I'm starting to feel a little more round too - but I think mine might be more food baby than actual baby  How exciting for you and your sis :)
Welcome and congratulations bex!
Grub and Mindhugs - you both sound so uncomfortable! MH - hope the exercises start having some benefit soon!
Oneday - glad you got your second scan and that it went so well :)
Albi - congrats on your scan also!
Hi to everyone I've missed :)
-
Congrats Bex lol at the crapping
Mh and grub I feel like I have a bottle up my butt and walk like I do. Grub the end is at least in sight for you
Had ob appointment gd test all clear and no antibodies found because of my b- blood group
Ob asked when do I want to have baby. Seems like he wants to induce me. Will wait and see.
Dd asked heaps of q's what ob wad doing
He said checking if bub has eaten enough breaky lunch dinner and enough bath water to swim in
Dd told him he is silly as there is only a baby in mummies tummy no bath as she has seen the pictures
-
grub- i feel for you! but so close now- how are you feeling emotionally about it all? or are you too tired to think about it much ;)
MH- that pain sounds awful...and a lack of sleep can get to you too...although I suppose we should start getting prepared for that!:o I hope your boy moves off that nerve for you and gives you a break
oneday- great about the scan!
trishy- glad your results came though all good and your DD sounds very sweet!
JBM- I was very bloated from early on! hope your sickness doesnt last too many more weeks
bex- congratulations and welcome!!
albi- glad you had a scan and all is good!
kass- there is always something to worry about, it's normal for all of us I think, but if you can, take it a week at a time and enjoy feeling well
n2l- hope you are in here soon
hi everyone else in here!! :)
afm- clinic check up showed all is on track and I am doing well, which is great; I also had a remedial massage last night which has eased my shooting low back pain somewhat...GD test is next week- I have to go straight to the full diagnostic one (fasting, then drink the sweet drink and wait at the clinic for two hours!) due to my Graves Disease, autoimmune issues... and Ob appt is also next week...
then the following week is my 28 week scan (regular scans for me coming up, due to the antiphospholipid syndrome, which can restrict the baby's growth in the last tri sometimes). and nursery is taking shape...makes it feel VERY real. I am excited and nervous about becoming a mum!

Hi everyone,
Still no Internet at home so this will be quick.
Congratulations to our newbies... sending you sticky vibes.
Glad everyone seems to be travelling okay.
I have been flat out working on the unit but it's slowly getting there. Worked solidly on it all this week and probably have another week of work to get it finished. Have even had to dig the grout out between the tiles in the hall way as they were discoloured and smelly from dog urine and poo. So now up to regrouting them and then sealing them. Everytime I think I've seen the worst of it and the end is in sight we find something else. I've been fortunate my Dad came and stayed from Sunday until this afternoon and the two of us worked 10 hours a day on the unit each day he was here.
My back has been so sore but I've just had to perserve as I need to get this finished ASAP so I can get a new tenant in to help pay my morgage. It is looking good though... by the time it is fnished it will be like a brand new unit.

Bub due 28th Aug

lol bex so long as you aim for the loo (AND hit the mark!), we'll let you in the door :)
you'll find you feel 'periodishy' (i'll have you know that's a real word) occasionally through your pregnancy, particularly at points when you were due. I hope that's all this is. so long as there's no blood, the cramping is probably someone making themselves comfortable!!!
anyhoo, congrats! and welcome aboard :)
oh possums- just think, you are pretty much guaranteed a bub now! how exciting. I was forever looking at the 'survival rates' from 26 weeks and getting more and more excited about things ... you know how paranoid us LTTCers can be! Yeah I am a bit sooky atm. Had a cry on the lounge the other day and DS came up, looking very confused and concerned, patted my head and gave me a kiss... that stopped the crying :)
trishy - lol smart kid you have there love! she ain't silly! that's great news about the GD result. Is there a reason why you need to be induced? Is that something you are keen for?
jbm - yeah that's fluid belly. beautifil ain't it! it put me in maternity clothes at 10 weeks but i just look like i had one too many pints with my schnitzel at the pub lol My sister is pregnant too... but she's only 10 weeks so a fair way behind me. but it is exciting that we can share this together. although she's extremely high risk of loss :( I just can't help but get really excited to think there'll be another bub in the family by christmas, all going well.
kass - uncomfortable. HELL YEAH! I've reached the 'get outta me belly' stage of over-it-ness. My belly has really really dropped as well so i'm hoping it means things might start happening soon :)
better go. High Royal Highness DS is awake. Only a little boy would wake up saying 'car' and 'daddy'. lol Mummies only count when you are scared, hurt or sick you know

Grub I havent even thought or raised the issue about being induced. But I think the ob is coming from the view that I am still sick and worn out and end up in hospital every now and then on drip or for up to 3 days. Plus I'm still on the zofran that he mentioned it to me to give me some relief.
-
hi ladies- quick question on car seats...do you need someone to install them, or can you do it yourself?
lori- hope all comes together for you soon
grub- DS sounds sweet when you were crying... wonder when it will be action stations for you? exciting...and yep, great to get to the stage where the baby's chances of survival are much better
-
Hi everyone,
Just a quick post from me. Went to to the ob today, and although he could see the buba, and it is measuring 6wk and 4days (and we are just over 7wks), he could not get a heartbeat with either an internal or external scan. He did not seem overly worried and suggested it was still a bit early to see a heartbeat, and he still gave us the referals for the 12 wks scan and the downs blood test, but i dont know if that was just part of the process or if he really belives that this little one will stay put.
I walked in there today fully expecting to see a heartbeat (esp after seeing one at 6wks with our DS) and I'm just devestated that we did not. I know that does not mean that this little one is gone, but that is how I'm feeling.
So sorry for no personals but I'm just not in the space. Wishing everyone well though.

oh fg that's just awful! are you having another early scan before the 12 week??? i hope it's like the doc said, just a bit too early yet. fingers crossed for you.
possums - no. get a friend with kids to show your dh how to do it and save yourself dosh. we paid the kidssafe mob $30 or $40 to do it and dh ended up having to redo it firmer. JUst be aware tho that the rear facing seats do move a bit cos of the way they sit etc My DH is now a car seat pro but it takes some muscle to make sure the fit is really firm :)
trishy - that's no good about being so sick love. I'm not sick, sick but at 36 weeks am sooooo over it that if i were sick on top of that as well as having to take medication I'd be putting my big fat swollen hand up for induction in a heartbeat! lol. It's amazing how we go from "sticky, stay in there" to "get out you little squirmer" in just a matter of weeks!
just having a quiet weekend at home. folding my terry nappies into newborn fold and sorting out a few things. Hopefully motivating dh to paint the old chest of drawers for bubs room!
belly rubs to all. oxox

Hey Ladies,
I know that I am so crap at staying in touch in here. I have started writing reports for school so will probably only be in briefly for the next week or two. But not long to go till I'll be finished work for ages!
Ahhh, there was so much to reply to and I doubt I'll remember it all...
Grub - I can't wait to be all uncomfortable and over it like you! I'm still at the point of trying to treasure the moment though. Glad you are managing to get at least a teensy bit of sleep. Nearly there nearly there
Farmgirl - I can't imagine you're going to have a very relaxing few weeks. I wish they would just tell you everything they knew and you could trust them. Would he really have given you a referral for the 12 week scan though if he knew something he didn't want to tell you. They always warn us that in those early days it can be hard to see a heartbeat. So, are you going to turn up in a week or two and demand another look in there?
Possums - You can so do the car seat yourself. Just read the instructions - this strap must go OVER that one and not under. Loop it through there, etc. Lots of the rear facing ones (from my huge experience of 2) need a little metal clip to hold the seatbelt tight and stop them moving around. You can get them from baby shops. Things are going to go so fast for you now with regular scans and everything. Good luck with the GD test next week!
DR - You are one motivated preggy chick at the moment. Hope the unit clean-up is nearly done.
Trishy - induction - nooooooooooooo!!!!! Sorry, did I sound too opinionated just then? If it's for a good reason and it gets bub out safely then go for it, but if not then I would hold off. I don't know - I've only had an induced labour and never a natural one, so I am biased, but that is the only thing I don't like about having GD - if I go on insulin again like last time then they routinely induce at around 39 weeks and that has got me into a panic already (well, not quite a panic, but you know). I know it gets the baby here quicker and you get to meet them sooner, but I don't know, it's not a lot of fun being induced. How gorgeous about the bath in your tummy comment!
Bex - hi and congratulations!
Oneday - good on you for getting another scan. We'd all have a look everyday if we could
And everyone else helloooooooooo
But I have to go. Will be in here heaps more in a few weeks though.
Seeyas xo
-
Just a quicky.........
Farmgirl - hi luvvy. I know how you must be feeling. I highly recommend a further scan at around the 8 week mark. There should well and truly be a heartbeat by then. Can't believe your Dr wants you to wait until 12 weeks. That's not fair!!! As Kaybee said, demand it - you have the right, and there is no need to wait 4 or 5 weeks. You need peace of mind sweety. Good luck! We are all thinking of you and are here when you need us. Sending lots of positive, strong vibes to your precious bub x
-
Hi everyone. Still here, this little one must want to stick around as I have not yet started bleeding to signal it is all over! Am going to ring and make an appointment to go back to ob for a scan late this week or early next-it is the only thing I have control over!
Possums- wow can't believe that you are this far along! Fingers crossed that the apls does not impact on bubs size!
Am one phone so can't do anymore personals for now but will tomorrow nite.
Wishing everyone a good nights sleep!
Fg
-
FG- good luck for that next scan, I really really hope all is OK with your bub and it was just a bit too early this time to see the heartbeat. I can imagine how you would be feeling...I would be the same, but each pregnancy can be different so here's hoping all is ok with this one xx
kaybee- loving the countdown until the end of work too! how are you feeling about everything and I hope things have settled for you at home now
grub-how you feeling lovely?
MH- how are those hips doing?
DR- are you just about done all that work now? hope so
Trishy- it really is awful you have so much sickness this pregnancy...can understand your concern about being induced though...but if its best for bub then its the best thing, if not, hold out.
sorry, just a quick one today, so sending a big hello to everyone else
a couple of other quick questions from me...
when are people finishing work ?
are you/have you got a car capsule to start with or a convertible car seat?
and I am still not sure whether to have him sleep in our room to start with or straight in his room...further thoughts?
started our calmbirth course yday and both DH and I got a lot out of it.... seeing the new Ob tomorrow, so hopefully we like him....and GD 2 hour test weds morning.
thanks everyone!

Hi Ladies!!!
Ohmygosh, have been so busy lately I haven't had a chance to post, but I have been reading everyones updates. Everytime I sit down I'm either exhausted or my DD's need attending too. But after a fun play in the park, feeding the ducks and groceries they are fast asleep, phew!
Farmgirl - so glad you're still here and thinking of you, I agree with others and am glad you're making an earlier appointment, 12 weeks is far too long to wait! At my 6 week or so scan with this bub the FS couldn't see anything in the sac and I was so upset thinking it was all over. Then FS went on holidays for a few weeks so I got my gp to organise a scan the following week and everything was perfect. I really really hope this is the case for you too, limbo is so cruel!
Kaybee - you're still working and with a little one, wow, I hated the business of report card time, hope all goes well, do you get mat leave soon?
grub - thanks for checking in on me, I think you must be the most stable one in here :). Can't believe you're on the home stretch now, but those last few weeks are a killer, glad you're enjoying your nesting/folding, such a nice time! DS sounds like a sweetheart!
Welcome Bex! looking forward to chatting and hope you are well!
Possums - I agree with others we didn't pay either, my dad's in emergency services so he checked it for us but over the years we have taken them in and out of different cars and as long as you follow the safety info in your manual and it doesn't move much it should be good. But if you're really worried it can't hurt to check, doe the ambulance still do it for free if you take it down? Glad your nursery is taking shape! Glad you finally chose an OB and hope they are really good to you, so good to be able to see the same person especially when you have other health things for them to keep an eye on.
Dreamrise - wow it sounds like you have had a rough and busy few weeks! I hope the next few are more relaxing for you but the renovations do sound pretty exciting.
Trishy - hope you're feeling better soon, DD sounds cute! Induction - eek - are you opposed to pain relief? all my friends who've been induced have needed some when and their other births they said weren't half as bad.
JBM - working with ms is horrid, hope you feel better soon, def baby, so glad you have a sis who's pg too, your weekend away sounds like fun!
Hi n2l and joeve hope you are well
MH - I've only been skimming so sorry if you've already posted about this but ouch your hips sound painful, I would go see physio if you can, they have these belt things that my sis had and were really helpful. Also my back and hips got a lot worse after labour and when you are constantly sitting feeding bub, so it would be good to get some relief sooner rather than later. Yum!!! you're posts are making me feel so hungry, I might have to do some baking soon!
Oneday - so glad you got another scan, too important to you not to, hope you are well
Drbee - sounds like you have been through a lot, hoping this is a nice sticky bub for you
kass - you're going along so well! take care of yourself
albi - hope you're going well, so glad your scan went well
big HELLO to anyone I've missed, I'm getting confused now who I have and haven't said hi to.
AFM - Last Sunday we were helping out with a sponsor child fundraising event and I made 50 ginger bread men and 2 slowcookers with thai curries (i love thai food:) that we served for lunch and dinner, as well as going to a fundraising trivia night saturday night, hosting a bbq lunch for my side of the family at my place Sunday afternoon (in which my newly separated brother told us he was leaving to go overseas for 3 months-yikes-but good I think). Amongst everything I decided it would be good to empty out the entire contents of our walk-in-robe to reorganise, clean and de-clutter. I dont think I barely moved to get off the couch the following Monday!!!
This weekend has been much quieter and I think my preggy body coped alot better. But now I'm starting to get into countdown mode, and am quite overwhelmed by the things I need to get done before bub arrives, I figure I have about 8 more weeks before I start to get really exhausted (re-organise entire house, toilet train DD2, finish DD1's quilt, sew new cover for my feeding chair, re-organise bubs room and wash clothes, organise building approval for our townhouse project, keep an eye on our own house getting built, office filing and tax, and a tonne of really minor things). I was also going to make the girls a quilted basket thing to carry their baby dolls around in so they could "help" me without actually poking bub too much lol.
I did get packed my toiletry bag on the weekend. But am now starting to get a little nervous that I've made it this far and hope nothing goes wrong. OB was a little worried about my iron levels and has sent me for my GTT early so he could test a few other things aswell.
Can I ask what other ladies who've had problems with aneamia have had their levels come back as. I think mine was 84? But I'm not sure how bad/not bad that is. Have been taking elevit since pre-conception.
Eeek I feel exhausted already might try to sneak in a nana nap!
Take care everyone!
-
hey aimee - i was told by the midwife at that 115 to 16-something was normal for iron... my level was 120 so i was put on tabs but she also said no one ever has really high 'normal' levels.
I/ve been takine ferro-gradumet ones and they certainly didin't block me up as much as the preg multi vitamins do :) but be warned, you poo will change colour (often to quite dark)... i know tmi but i completely freaked the frist time lo.
possums - you'll find your own thing but for us with DS he was in our room for about 3 weeks (i breast fed him) and then got the book to his room (he stayed in the bassinette tho). we found neither DH or I slept well because of all the bleeting noises babies make! and in turn we were keeping DS awake. WE all slept sssooo much better once he was in his own room. He's always slept there happily ever since. BUT i had one of those movement sensor monitors which i'd check regularly and our house was very small so i could hear him if he really needed me ... it's amazing how mummy radar just clicks on! DH still won't hear DS and I can just about hear a pin drop in his room lol.
Some people find co sleeping lovely. I only did that if DS was sick and he'd go back to his room once he was better. But I think you'll find you'll want bubs close to you for awhile. Our house here is much bigger and our room a fair way from the children's so I am planning on having the bub in our room, in the bassinette for the first one or two months. If DH doesn't sleep well either him or me and the bub will do a room swap for awhile. I"ll also be using my sensor monitor again, it just provided me with so much ease of mind :)
Car seats - we bought a brand new from newborn to big kid car seat and a friend sold us one of theirs when they upgraded. so had one in each vehicle. We are using the friend's old one for DS now and the one we got new for the new bub (turned around). WE bought the safe and sound meridian ahr. I can't remember what kg it does up to but DS is only just 11kg at 18 months old so will be in it for awhile :)
Anotehr option to consider is hiring through Kids Safe NSW or like organisation. you can hire the capsules and then get the next level seat that does from 6 months to big kid. They are handy cos you can just take the capsule out without waking bub, although that was never a huge issue for us.
Some prams also come with the capsule attachment and that is also really handy. But personally for the few months they are in the capsule, I didn't find it a hassel and preferred to wear DS in his sling (which always put him to sleep).
omg gotta pee... again! ox
-
Hey ladies it's busy in here :)
Aimee you certainly have your hands full, funny you say you cleaned out your walk in robe i did the very same thing on sunday!! it was a bomb site in their before cleaning it!
My mum brought me a car seat for bub we got a safe and sound premier i think its called, its very nice :)
Possums, kaybee, grubs and anyone i missed i hope things are going well :)
My DH starting painting bubs nursery yesterday as we are getting new carpet through the whole house in 2 weeks so dont want to spill paint on our new stuff!! i cant wait to decorate the room but got a while to wait yet!
I had a cold 2 weeks ago and ever since everyday i have these horrible headaches! does anyone know what this could be or if its normal during pg? xxxxx
P.s half way tomorrow :)
-
can't stop cleaning, can't stop cleaning arrgghh i feel exhuasted and have a sore back but i cannta stopa! lol
Fortunately DH came and roused on me. Like proper school teacher rouse on me and i was ordered to sit... which i said i would and then he caught me scrubbing the kettle and ooooohhhh bbboooyyy I got in big trouble. lol.
-
Hi Everyone - ok I'm in for a long haul persie catch up this morning............hips, food the works!!!!
Possums - we just bought a new pram that has a baby capsule attachment for the car (in other words a travel system). It was either that or we were going to hire a capsule. Then we'll upgrade at 6 months to a car seat that should take him thru until about 4 years old - I think. Hope you're travelling well Shire Sister! Certainly all sounding good!!!
Farmgirl - thinking of you :)
Kaybee - don't you work too hard. Remember to get some rest in there too!
Grub - rub a dub dub! Can't stop the clean! You've gone into crazy nesting mode! Don't make us all rouse on you like DH did. You take it easy now. Can't wait to hear all about the birth!!!!
OneDay, DrBee, Kass, Albi, Trishy, JBM, N2L & Joeve - hope you girls are all doing ok. No nasty symptoms etc. Drop in and let us know what's going on this week :) Thinking of all you gorgeous girls and your beautiful bellies!!!
Aimee - Wow. You don't stop either! I'm sitting here not working and getting so bored. Seriously considering doing some volunteering to pass the time. Especially as I have more energy these days. My blood pressure got down to 75/55. Very low. They just told me to take it easy. I've been drinking 2 x sachets of SpaTone iron supplements in my juice a day and that tends to make a difference. If I skip a day I notice it.
AFM - this sciatic nerve pain in my bum cheeks is driving me nuts. Had 2nd appt with physio yesterday and am strapped around the middle with a belly belt on order. I got some minimal relief last night, but still wakes me up and interrupts my sleep. At least the pain is only at night.
Off to OB appt today to get my GD blood results. Hoping my blood pressure has gone up. I'm feeling more alive, so will be surprised if it hasn't.
FOOD - was sitting here yesterday afternoon needing some sugar and just about to text DH to bring some choccy home, when my lovely neighbour across the road brought over a plate of her mother's famed Jelly Cakes. I got 6, and there are only 2 left - of which I had to show enormous restraint in not eating. So far I have put on 5 kilo's with this pregnancy. I hope it's all baby!!!
-
Hi Everyone
Hope you're all having a good week!
Possums - I must have been typing when you posted, it can be hard to make decisions initially, esp as all babies are so different. We had a convertible car seat for DD1 and a capsule for DD2, either is good, but I found the capsule a bit heavy to lift in and out of the car all the time, but it is useful if newborn falls asleep and you don't want to risk raking them. Luckily DD1 was such a heavy sleeper she never minded being transferred. Our bedroom is a bit farther away from baby's room and I found the bassinet a lifesaver during the night for the first 3 months. DD1 loved her bassinet and I loved having her closeby, but DD2 preferred her cot at 6 weeks because of her reflux. I finished fulltime work at 33.5 weeks with DD1, I was exhausted (prep teacher), lucky I did too as I had her at 37 weeks! I hope you find what works best for you and bub! Good luck for your GD test tomorrow!
Grub - haha thanks for the info, I'm a little concerned about my levels but not sure if I can safely take another supplement with the elevit, will have to check it out! Hope you are managing to get some rest and put your feet up amongst all the nesting. Any day now.......so exciting!!!!! I keep hoping to hear your news when I log on!
Oneday - sorry to hear about your headaches, I have some on and off, sinus maybe, but I would see your GP if they are bothering you. Yay for half way and getting bubs room ready, its so exciting decorating the nursery isn't it!
MH - glad you've found some relief, but ouch it sounds painful! Whoa that is really low, hope your blood pressure has come up! Yum jelly cakes, 5kg is pretty good I think for this far along. Even some of my skinniest friends pack on about 20kg and then it falls straight off after baby, I think I've put on about 6ish or so
Afm - tonight while I fell asleep on the lounge DH did most of the housework, and he had even been up and working at 5.30, he's such a trooper, I feel so bad sometimes but so grateful too!
Take care and hi to everyone!!!
-
i am still live but still no net at home and i am slowly going crazy with no BB ? :wall:
i havn't had a chance to read posts so have no idea whats happening with anyone and i am so so flat out at work i don't even have time to do this.
booked with doc next week to get referral for scan at 11 weeks.
still sick and feeling yuk yuk yuk
i have a hardness in the very lower part of tummy already, didn't feel it til 12 weeks with boys ??. so maybe theres still 2 in there or i have a really big baby already ?
hope to get phone on in next week so will chat then..
good luck to all.:D
-
Wow - it's soooooooooooo quiet in here!!! Grub, are you giving birth???
-
i far-king wish MH! lol. :wall:
still here :( Had mw appointment today and have developed cystocele... basically bladder prolapse (sounds charming eh!). But it doesn't affect the birth at the birth centre or anything, but i *may* need surgery down the track to fix things.
basically the muscle wall between my bladder and vag has collapsed and a part of the bladder is sitting in my heehaw. So girls do your pelvic floor excerices!!! Not taht I wasn't but i suspect having 2 bubs in 18 months is the culprit. So fingers crossed that's all and it improves post birth. Not painful or anything, a bit uncomfy sometimes.
Apart from that the bub is locked nice and low in my pelvis :) and we've hit the magic 37 weeks!!! so bring it on!
ooh jbm what a lovely surprise if there are two!
oh aimee - i think we should make sure we tell our dhs how much they rock! my dh has taken it upon himself to do half days at work for the next two weeks (til mum gets here) because I'm so exhausted and dealing with a tempermental toddler is really taxing me. I think he's finally figured out that I'm one of those awful women who won't ask for help and will try and muddle through on my own iykwim. He's also been doing most of the housework. Anyhoo, he's been amazing and even did the groceries for me today after the mw appointment!
oneday- over half way now!!! Yeha i had awful headaches for a couple of weeks at about the point you are now. i ended up at the doctor's cos they were borderline migranic and just awful. make sure you take some panadol or panadeine and drinks heaps of water!
how are all our other mummies going???
-
oh no grubs, but i hope you wont need surgery! as long as bub is okay for now thats the main thing :) And thankgoodnedd i havnt had a headache for 3 days now whoo hoo!
Im so excited to be at 20 weeks! My DH felt our little girl kick for the first time last night, very special moment! she has been a bugger though making me worry, i will have days where i feel her all the time and then from monday till last night pretty much nothing, and it was like her little sign to us that she was ok cause i was in bed a bit teary worried and then i felt her called DH in and he felt it!! Im thinking she may have changed positon? jus weird i can feel her constantly for days then struggling to feel anything! Very cheeky!
-
Grubs - oh no. That's it, I'm starting my pelvic floors today. Been a bit lazy with them. Hope you're ok!!!
OneDay - I think we've all had the exact same with the movements on and off. I'm at 28 weeks and still the same. Really strong and constant some days and other days a little flutter here and there. Not to worry, when you get to the 30 week mark you will need to be making sure you get at least 10 feelings from bubs before noon. Until that point it's totally normal to be sporadic :)
AFM - off to stay with friends in Eumundi on the Sunshine Coast this weekend. They live in a gorgeous Eco House in a valley. Can't wait!
-
grub- sorry to hear you might have to have surgery down the track...here's hoping after birth it settles... glad bub is head down and ready...and it's great your DH is being such a help. you really are on countdown now :D
MH- have a great weekend...sounds lovely! how were youre GD results and blood pressure? hope you are coping with that hip pain
oneday- yes my little man is very sporadic with his movements too- glad your DH got to feel her, it's the best isnt it!
aimee- glad all going well and that your DH is helping out too
JBM- hope you are doing ok and not too sick
hi everyone else!
afm- all going well - last check up our boy was head down...good heartbeat...looking forward to a scan next week! He might be a little small, but we will know for sure then.
Had the 2 hour GD test this week and came back all normal, so yay for that ... my iron levels are low though, so in addition to my multi, I need to take iron tablets... I am already suffering constipation on and off (sorry if TMI) so I hope this doesnt make it too bad. How have you other ladies found the iron tablets? OMG can't believe I wrote crapping instead of cramping... can I use prego brain for that!!
WOW how do I remember everyone on here.....
Farmgirl how are you travelling??
Grub I'm a nurse and I feel for you I hope you can get it all sorted without surgery x
MH Sounds like a blast
Possums Head down sounds exciting how many weeks are you??
ummmmm and everyone else... Hope all of you are well and all is coming along nicely...
AFM well 6 week scan on Monday VERY nervous and excited all at the same time...
I am a lil worried because my symptoms seem to have eased off.
My boob aren't as sore anymore only a lil bit in the morning.. very little cramping, I am tired thou but hey who isn't with all the stress of the past 8 weeks of the IVF rollercoaster. Trying not to worry but can't help it and I haven't been as excited as I thought I would be with all the worry.
Anyway have a great weekend everyone :)
-
oh bex fingers crossed. I think everyone can relate to how you are feeling. part of you is worrying and nervous and part of you is expecting the worse and another part is trying to play it cool and aloof. It's a tight rope of emotions. I always felt that getting told it hadn't worked out was so painful not only cos a dream has been dashed but all the hard work and money and time you've invested.
but in saying that, i'm sure it'll be fine love! fingers crossed and good luck!!!
possums - that's great about the gd :) I'm on iron tabs (but have stopped now to avoid 'straining' with the cystocele) and found they do constipate me. Otherwise, i felt so much better and had more energy within a few days of taking them.
have fund MH! sounds great!!!
and Oneday - i didn't feel proper movements til about 21 weeks with this bub. it was 17 weeks with my first, but this was a bit quieter... it also started slow but over the past month has been more active than my ds was.
not much to report here. i have another doc appointment next week to discuss my litltle problem lol. otherwise i am hoping this bub will come before 40 weeks. but i really don't like my chances :(
did manage a small walk this morn :) and that's probably all my energy used for the day lol. the last month is ssssooo hard and tiring. It makes me even more in awe of that awesome KellyD - she was carrying 2, had a toddler and her hubby couldnt take time like mine is.
anyhoo might go and lay on the lounge and try not to fall asleep... again. oxxox
belly rubs and have a good weekend.

Hi everyone
Grub - oh no, sorry to hear you might need op, thats sounds awful! now that bub is over the 37 weeks i think its eviction time! glad dh is able to take some time off to help out, you must be exhausted!
Bex - goodluck for your scan on Monday, hoping everything is just as it should be!
Possums - Yay, sounds like your little man has a good sense of direction. I have to start another iron tablet too an am also worried about making the umm constipation (sorry tmi). Glad to hear your calmbirth class is going well and gd test results came back well too.
MH - wow that sounds so serene! hope you can relax and enjoy!
Oneday - Yay for DH feeling movement! so exciting and makes it so much more real for them! my bub also has some quiet days and active days, i agree cheeky bubs!
jbm - hope the sick feeling goes away soon
Farmgirl - did you manage to get another scan, hope all is ok.
AFM - its almost midday and am still in my pj's as dh is working.....oops. we took the girls to seaworld and ran around way too much and my braxton hicks became a little bit too intense for my liking, they settled pretty quick though. My second bt is still showing i'm aneamic so am onto another iron supplement - eek.
hope everyone is going well, hi to all i've missed!
take care

Hi Girls
Just wanting to send everyone big BELLY RUBS, it seem that this thread has exploded with new girls which is so exciting..
Things are going good with us if you count about 4 hours sleep a night good and we also have on very clingy baby who is also a bit colicky (Liam), had them off to the pead chiro last week and it was found that Liam's spine is out of alignment and Rhys had one of his skull bones slip and was pinching a nerve. So they both had some manipulation and we are doing weekly appt's until they are both all fixed. We are hoping this will help Liam with his colic and also help him to sleep better. Something to keep in mind though for all you mum's to be, these babies get so squished up inside that if you find they are overly irritable etc give chiropractic a go.
Luckily for me DH still has another 2 weeks off work and then my 22yr old niece is coming to stay for a week to help out, plus I think my MIL will be making pretty regular trips from Merimbula to help out as well. So at least I have another 3 weeks of assistance with the boys and DD before bedlam starts, fingers crossed that by then Liam will be much better so we can all get some sleep at night and not have a cranky boy most of the time.
Can't wait until Grub's baby makes an appearance and so many of you are gettign closer to the finish line as well, I'm looking forward to seeing all these BA's when the time comes.

Hi everyone :)
It's so hard to keep up in here!
Kelly - Sounds very busy at your house! Hope the boys are sleeping better very soon :)
Aimee - Nothing wrong with pjs at midday, it's a weekend after all! How close are you now? Hope the extra supplements do the trick
Grub - Hope you can avoid surgery - sounds very uncomfortable. Hopefully bub will be here very soon!
Bex - good luck with your scan! I was feeling exactly the same with mine, I had no symptoms at all. I'm sure everything will be fine :)
Possums - Sounds like everything is going well :) Hope you don't have any issues with the iron tabs
Mindhugs - have a great weekend away!
Oneday - wow - halfway already! How exciting for you both to be feeling the movements!
JBM - hope your sickness disappears soon :)
I'm sure I've missed people - sorry if it was you!
afm - one week to go before my next scan. Still not feeling even slightly pregnant. Surely I should be feeling something by now? Aargh. Must. Try. Not. To. Stress.
-
Hi ladies
Ive read and caught up but been very tired and still sick. So havent made it on BB since my last post.
Grubs I hope you dont need surgery.
Kelly nice to see you pop in for an update about the boys. Hope the chiro sorts things out for them.
Sorry everyone else, I will try and stay on top of things from now on.
-
Hi ladies i hope you all had a lovely weekend :)
Kass seriously don't worry (i know its easier said then done) but i still don't feel pg lol the only thing tht reminds me is my growing belly and kicks but we are the lucky ones who don't get morning sickness and all the other symptoms. I used to worry too but everything will be fine. Enjoy your scan i loved the 12 week and 18 week one xxx
Trishy i hope you feel better soon, its not nice bieng sick especially when your pg! xxxxx
Kelly D im so glad to hear everything is going well with you and your boys, and its great to hear you have lots of support! xxxxxxx
AFM 2nd midwifes appointment tomorrow! im also seeing the DR as the last appointment i was told im in the high risk catagorie? did you ladies get put in this? She said its becuase its IVF not that anything is wrong but any way its all good xxx
-
oneday yes my Ob mentioned it, and I remember on the scan documents there was one at 30 something weeks for IVF.
-
trishy/oneday... why are you high risk cos of ivf? I've always been told the opposite in terms of the actual pregnancy, that just because you used AC doesn't mean anything in terms of the pregnancy... unless of course you have issues yourself with actually carrying bub or other conditions which could impact the pregnancy, or age or such.
but i'm pretty sure ivf alone doesn't make you 'high risk'. I could be talking out my blow hole mind you but I'd be asking your docs to explain this especially if it automatically puts you on the path to C-sect if that is not something you want.
i was never put in high risk. even with ds having a single umbicial artery and with this bub me having a cystocele. I have pcos as well. :)
hth
ps oh still here! hips playign up big time so i didn't get much sleep last night :( managed a waddle this morn to stretch them out. ugh just a bit over it.
-
Hey everyone!!!
I'm back from the beautiful Sunshine Coast & loved it!!! Stayed in the beautiful Eumundi, beach time and ice cream at Hastings Street Noosa, lunch at Hyatt Coolum, and all with great friends. Ah - did I have to come back.................
OneDay - I am high risk because I had 2 miscarriages throughout last year during IVF. But don't think it's because of IVF. Hope you get a better explanation from your OB.
Grub - I've had 2 lots of physio and am now wearing a belly belt. None of this has helped the hips. I keep telling myself - 10 weeks, 10 weeks, 10 weeks! Cause a good nights sleep is no longer on the cards with this.
Have a great day everyone. I'm off to pick up my little fluffy, grey princess from the cat motel. Really missed her. We are barely apart!
-
Grub - hang in there! won't be too much longer and youwill meet your new little son or daughter!
MH- sounds like a fab weekend- happy you had a good little break. (no good about hips though)... bet your cat was glad to see you!
oneday- not sure why you would be high risk? I am high risk as I have had several losses, plus I have Graves Disease and Antiphospholipid syndrome...so not because of IVF specifically. It's great things are starting to take shape with your nursery :-)
kelly- glad all is going well ..i have also heard good things about chiros with babies. your life must be so full on right now, so glad you do have help
bex- good luck with scan!
aimee- more iron ! hope it doesnt affect you too much and makes you feel better
kass- hope all is going well- it is so hard early on wondering if all is ok in there!
afm- all good- just a quick clexane question... it has been mentioned I will be switched to heparin by around 36 weeks, as it has a shorter shelf life in your body and therefore less risk of too much bleeding etc in birth... what have others on clexane been told? (MH , you are probably the only other one on it throughout I think?)
so looking forward to our big scan this week! and finished the calmbith course, it was great for DH and I
belly rubs everyone else!
-
Grubs I thi k it's more about my loses and age but must double check
I'm on my phone trying to keep up with you active posters
I've been so dizzy and faint lately. Need to see if my blood pressure is ok on Thursday at my appointment
-
Hi everyone
Kelly - good to hear from you, ouch sounds painful for the poor little boys, glad that you've found it early though and hope the chiro helps, glad you're getting a hand too, you must be exhausted! but it sounds like you're doing do well too!!!
kass - yay for upcoming scan! try not to stress to much, it can be hard not to worry.
oneday - glad you're going well. i'm not sure why your OB has put you in the high risk category, unless you have another health problem that they are worried about. But OB might just be a cautious one who wants to keep you monitored closely which I guess is good to have some extra monitoring. My OB said that once I got past the first tri I am no longer considered high risk but he also seems to keep a close eye on me if I have any problems and I'm on 2 weekly visits now. I don't think I have a health problem that caused my prev m/c's, just unlucky I guess (2 ectopics and 1 after food poisoning).
trishy - no no no, not still feeling unwell, how annoying, hope things improve soon and you can get the dizziness sorted out. I had low bp and fainting related to low salt levels, I think I ate hot chips and crisps for a few weeks.......bum is now size of small country lol
grub - oh no, hope its not too much longer for you! hope you're doing ok overall, can't wait to hear bubs birth announcement!
MH - I must admit I'm a little green with envy at the moment lol. Glad you had a great weekend, sounds so refreshing!
Kaybee - how are those reports going? hope you're not working too hard.
Hi to all, has anyone heard from farmgirl, hope shes ok
Possums - I don't know anything about either med, but hope you are keeping well.
afm - house somehow went from spotless to dump overnight...hmmm....Overall am doing ok, just starting to feel a little nervous about the next few weeks and the birth (c-section), ltttc and ivf and m/c really do mess with your head. Still haven't chosen a name yet which makes me feel uneasy too!
Has anyone else chosen a name yet? Have heard quite a few nice ones but nothing that feels right just yet!
Its would have been our little boys first birthday tomorrow, even though we only said goodbye at 13 weeks, he looked like a real little person on my last scan, I think I might make a cake and have a little cry, is that silly? maybe I'm just hormonal.
Take care everyone!!
-
Trishy - hope everything goes well at your appt. Hope you're able to rest up in the meantime :)
Possums - thanks :) Don't know anything about heparin sorry - glad the course went so well
Mindhugs - sounds like a great weekend
Grub - hope it's not too much longer!
oneday - thanks :) Yep, it's very hard not to worry. My biggest fear is having to start again. Good luck with your appt tomorrow - don't know about the high risk thing - I do remember that amongst all the ivf signings was an acknowledgment that there was a slightly higher chance of birth defect (not high though, ~1% maybe) - maybe that has something to do with it? I'd have thought the highest risk period would be during the first tri, and once you're through that the risk should be the same as anyone else. If all it means is you get a bit of extra attention and an extra scan or two, it can't be that bad :)
