Hi ladies i hope you all had a lovely weekend :)
Kass seriously don't worry (i know its easier said then done) but i still don't feel pg lol the only thing tht reminds me is my growing belly and kicks but we are the lucky ones who don't get morning sickness and all the other symptoms. I used to worry too but everything will be fine. Enjoy your scan i loved the 12 week and 18 week one xxx
Trishy i hope you feel better soon, its not nice bieng sick especially when your pg! xxxxx
Kelly D im so glad to hear everything is going well with you and your boys, and its great to hear you have lots of support! xxxxxxx
AFM 2nd midwifes appointment tomorrow! im also seeing the DR as the last appointment i was told im in the high risk catagorie? did you ladies get put in this? She said its becuase its IVF not that anything is wrong but any way its all good xxx
-
oneday yes my Ob mentioned it, and I remember on the scan documents there was one at 30 something weeks for IVF.
-
trishy/oneday... why are you high risk cos of ivf? I've always been told the opposite in terms of the actual pregnancy, that just because you used AC doesn't mean anything in terms of the pregnancy... unless of course you have issues yourself with actually carrying bub or other conditions which could impact the pregnancy, or age or such.
but i'm pretty sure ivf alone doesn't make you 'high risk'. I could be talking out my blow hole mind you but I'd be asking your docs to explain this especially if it automatically puts you on the path to C-sect if that is not something you want.
i was never put in high risk. even with ds having a single umbicial artery and with this bub me having a cystocele. I have pcos as well. :)
hth
ps oh still here! hips playign up big time so i didn't get much sleep last night :( managed a waddle this morn to stretch them out. ugh just a bit over it.

Hey everyone!!!
I'm back from the beautiful Sunshine Coast & loved it!!! Stayed in the beautiful Eumundi, beach time and ice cream at Hastings Street Noosa, lunch at Hyatt Coolum, and all with great friends. Ah - did I have to come back.................
OneDay - I am high risk because I had 2 miscarriages throughout last year during IVF. But don't think it's because of IVF. Hope you get a better explanation from your OB.
Grub - I've had 2 lots of physio and am now wearing a belly belt. None of this has helped the hips. I keep telling myself - 10 weeks, 10 weeks, 10 weeks! Cause a good nights sleep is no longer on the cards with this.
Have a great day everyone. I'm off to pick up my little fluffy, grey princess from the cat motel. Really missed her. We are barely apart!
-
Grub - hang in there! won't be too much longer and youwill meet your new little son or daughter!
MH- sounds like a fab weekend- happy you had a good little break. (no good about hips though)... bet your cat was glad to see you!
oneday- not sure why you would be high risk? I am high risk as I have had several losses, plus I have Graves Disease and Antiphospholipid syndrome...so not because of IVF specifically. It's great things are starting to take shape with your nursery :-)
kelly- glad all is going well ..i have also heard good things about chiros with babies. your life must be so full on right now, so glad you do have help
bex- good luck with scan!
aimee- more iron ! hope it doesnt affect you too much and makes you feel better
kass- hope all is going well- it is so hard early on wondering if all is ok in there!
afm- all good- just a quick clexane question... it has been mentioned I will be switched to heparin by around 36 weeks, as it has a shorter shelf life in your body and therefore less risk of too much bleeding etc in birth... what have others on clexane been told? (MH , you are probably the only other one on it throughout I think?)
so looking forward to our big scan this week! and finished the calmbith course, it was great for DH and I
belly rubs everyone else!
-
Grubs I thi k it's more about my loses and age but must double check
I'm on my phone trying to keep up with you active posters
I've been so dizzy and faint lately. Need to see if my blood pressure is ok on Thursday at my appointment
-
Hi everyone
Kelly - good to hear from you, ouch sounds painful for the poor little boys, glad that you've found it early though and hope the chiro helps, glad you're getting a hand too, you must be exhausted! but it sounds like you're doing do well too!!!
kass - yay for upcoming scan! try not to stress to much, it can be hard not to worry.
oneday - glad you're going well. i'm not sure why your OB has put you in the high risk category, unless you have another health problem that they are worried about. But OB might just be a cautious one who wants to keep you monitored closely which I guess is good to have some extra monitoring. My OB said that once I got past the first tri I am no longer considered high risk but he also seems to keep a close eye on me if I have any problems and I'm on 2 weekly visits now. I don't think I have a health problem that caused my prev m/c's, just unlucky I guess (2 ectopics and 1 after food poisoning).
trishy - no no no, not still feeling unwell, how annoying, hope things improve soon and you can get the dizziness sorted out. I had low bp and fainting related to low salt levels, I think I ate hot chips and crisps for a few weeks.......bum is now size of small country lol
grub - oh no, hope its not too much longer for you! hope you're doing ok overall, can't wait to hear bubs birth announcement!
MH - I must admit I'm a little green with envy at the moment lol. Glad you had a great weekend, sounds so refreshing!
Kaybee - how are those reports going? hope you're not working too hard.
Hi to all, has anyone heard from farmgirl, hope shes ok
Possums - I don't know anything about either med, but hope you are keeping well.
afm - house somehow went from spotless to dump overnight...hmmm....Overall am doing ok, just starting to feel a little nervous about the next few weeks and the birth (c-section), ltttc and ivf and m/c really do mess with your head. Still haven't chosen a name yet which makes me feel uneasy too!
Has anyone else chosen a name yet? Have heard quite a few nice ones but nothing that feels right just yet!
Its would have been our little boys first birthday tomorrow, even though we only said goodbye at 13 weeks, he looked like a real little person on my last scan, I think I might make a cake and have a little cry, is that silly? maybe I'm just hormonal.
Take care everyone!!
-
Trishy - hope everything goes well at your appt. Hope you're able to rest up in the meantime :)
Possums - thanks :) Don't know anything about heparin sorry - glad the course went so well
Mindhugs - sounds like a great weekend
Grub - hope it's not too much longer!
oneday - thanks :) Yep, it's very hard not to worry. My biggest fear is having to start again. Good luck with your appt tomorrow - don't know about the high risk thing - I do remember that amongst all the ivf signings was an acknowledgment that there was a slightly higher chance of birth defect (not high though, ~1% maybe) - maybe that has something to do with it? I'd have thought the highest risk period would be during the first tri, and once you're through that the risk should be the same as anyone else. If all it means is you get a bit of extra attention and an extra scan or two, it can't be that bad :)
-
Just missed you Aimee - doesn't sound silly at all
-
Hey Possums - my doctor hasn't mentioned anything about switching from Clexane to Heparin at 36 weeks, but I'm going to ask him on my next appt. He has scheduled my CS at 38.5 weeks in case I go early and haven't had time to get off the Clexane................what you've been told makes sense though. Also my GD was all good, so is my iron. Always a relief to get those good results. Glad things are going well for you though. I'm feeling tired in the afternoons, but I'm also not getting continual sleep because of the sciatica. My sister tld me I should have my feet up relaxing every afternoon from now - that would be same for you too :)
DH is panicking that the nursery won't be ready for another few weeks. And I'm running around washing baby's clothes and thinking about getting that emergency bag ready, just in case. Sounds like your nursery is done. Do you have a packed bag yet?
-
aimee- doesnt sound silly- sounds like a good way to remember him, he's in your heart ...we have picked a first name...can't agree on a second yet. what's your actual due date? I know what you mean about getting nervous with lots to do
trishy- sorry you still dont feel well ...must be getting tiring
MH- nope...am not that organised at all! nursery is part done, but we are still waiting on some things I have ordered, and still have to get some other essentials which I have basically chosen, but we are spreading out the expenses (including car seat)...and quite a few other bits and pieces. still have to wash baby clothes etc. and certainly havent packed a bag. You sound pretty organised to me. I am panicking about all we still have to do, and DH isn't....he is very busy and distracted at work at the moment, whereas I am in full nesting mode and very much want to be ready in case our boy makes an early appearance.
I am going to ask about the clexane again at my next appt...it will be at the clinic...sigh...we didnt really like the Ob we saw.
oh, and I have gained about 7kg so far...so your 5kg sounds very good. I looked at some suggested weight gain graphs and i was in the range (on the low side)- mainly i think its all baby...just maybe a bit extra all over, but not a lot, thankfully.
-
oh ok thought it would be evryone, i will ask her tomorrow again? Im public though not private so that was just one of the midwifes. Will let you know what they say tomorrow cause i dont have any health issues so it wouldn't be that xxxx
-
well it doesn't sound right to me oneday. fair enough if you've got other issues but if not, there is no reason why how you conceived should impact your pregnancy iykwim. sounds like the mw doesn't have a clue what she's talking about... an outdated sort of view iykwim.
just be careful especially with any label they try to give you cos if they deem you high risk you aren't eligible for stuff like birth centre spot and certain delivery options.
ooh sounds like some babies are going to have lovely bedrooms! all i've done (well dh did it actually) was paint an old set of drawers white and put on black handles. this poor bub has nothing new or set up really. we are doing it all after it arrives and we know if it's a boy or girl!
possums did you go with the theme you were plannign? i cna't remember what it's called... snuggle pot and cuddle pie? nutsy? omg baby brain! lol
mh that's great about your results!!!
aimee - i think that's perfectly reasonable!
hi kass!
trishy - yeah, i'd def ask again to check.
jbm, bex, farmgirl - how are you all going???
who else have i missed???
afm - not much to report. stil fat, still tired, still sore. only got a few hours' sleep last night cos my hips played up so much. ouchy! i ended out in the recliner about 5.30am and just dozed til dh got up at 6am. But i did get a nice, short, waddle in... just me and my headphones :) Have an ob appnt tomorrow abou tthis cystocele, ugh. not looking forward to it at all.
The anticipation of these last few weeks is exhausting. each night i go to bed hoping to get woken by contractions (like with ds) and am so disappointed when i wake the next day still feeling rubbish.
-
Hi everyone, lots to catch up on so sorry up front for anyone that I miss!
Possums - what you said re clexane is what I think I was told - although I did stopped at 20wks. I think initally that the Dr wanted me on heparin, then clexane for the 2nd tri, then back on to heparin. Heparin is 2 injections a day, but they hurt far less than the clexane (I had clexane after the delivery). I think that one reason they dont like you on heparin the whole pg is that there are different long term use side effects between clexane and heparin (but cant remember what they are) so they try and reduce the time you are on heparin by using clexane when feasible.
Grub - hope your appointment today goes well. Not long to go - I really hope that you do wake up to those contractions soon!
Oneday - I did not think that IVF put you in the high risk category automatically - although there is an association with IVF and some other issues - PND and BF problems I think, and maybe even a higher rate of c-section BUT some of that I think is because the demographics of women going through IVF vs the general pop of women having babies eg on average they are a bit older. I'm really stretching the brain cells now to remember as I did the reading when doing the IVF for DS. Anyway take my comments with a grain of salt as it has been a while! Good luck with your appointment and hope you can go with the model of care that you want!
Mindhugs - take care and hope you get some rest - dont stress about the nursery - it will happen and bubs wont notice for a while anyway - besides getting it organised is a great job for DH at night when you are up feeding - he might as well be up at the same time doing something as well so he can share your insomnia!
Aimee - good luck with the name selection and take care.
Trishy - hope you are feeling better.
KellyD - hope that the boys are getting the benefits of the chiro. We took DS to a osteo when he was a baby and they were also really good at geting things back in the right spot!
afm - well we have a scan today, so fingers crossed for a hb. Not really feeling pg over the last few days although pretty tired - but think that is stress related as much as anything. No bleeding so that is a positive and I've still had positive poas (could not help myself), so I just hope this little one is a sticky one.
Hello to everyone I've missed, and hope to still be in here this arvo!

fg: good luck with scan, hope all goes well. fingers crossed. x :-)
grub: sending you a BIG hug, sounds like you need it. i am sure the bad sleep thing we have at end of preg is to help prepare us for bad sleep we will have when babies arrive ;-). i hope you're feeling better and baby makes an early arrival for you so you get a couple weeks break. good luck to you. sending you some hugs now. x
possums: thats a great weight gain for peg, you'll bounce back to pre preg weight in no time with that !!!! so not fair !! for me that is that gained 19 kg with last baby ? eeekkk.. you're in the last trimester now and this is the fun part i think, feeling where baby is lying and watching your tummy move is a bit freaky at first, but exciting, getting nursery and baby stuff finalised and washing baby clothes is fun too. but not as much fun wasing after baby is born. lol. ha ha ha. sending you best wishes.
mindhugs: good job getting bags packed early, you just never know what these babies are going to do. good luck to you
kass: when is your next scan ?, must be soon. hope all is going well for you. x
aimee: yes my house goes to dump overnight too !!?? but i have 3 boys and thay are mostly to blame?! lol ha ha. we had names picked out before babies arrived but was a bit close with last one who only got name a week or two before birth. lol. as for the emotions thing. i watched" 17 again"with the boys yesterday and cried ?????. such a sook i am. lol. we all have these moments and if you wanna do cake then do it !!. good luck to you.
trishy: hope all goes well at your doc app. good luck to you
oneday: hope all goes well with midwife app today, i dunno about the ivf higher risk thing ??. good luck anyways.
sorry for anyone i forgot
afm: well still no net at home so i got into work early today and am working a bit later so i can do my net stuff here . lol
i have docs app on fri morn for a check up and to get my referral for scan the next week to see baby again !! yipee
still feeling sick, no throwing up, which is worse.
so tired most of the time, fell asleep yesterday and DS1 came in and put a throw rug on me, so cute.
only working 2 days a week during school hols so that is good.
i told my mum lsat night and she was like how ( cause she knows DH had vas) and then she was like why would you wanna do that ?. she is such a selfish person and if it isn't about her she really doesn't care.
she just changed the subject and when i asked her how she felt she didnt really answer. grrrrrrr
so annoying she is
but on a good note my sis and i have our preggers sisters weekend all organised, getting hair done. movies, dinner out, shopping and head and neck massage. next weekend so only 10 days to go for that. i cant wait to see her bump !!!!!
chat soon to all
-
just a quickie
FG- good luck for the scan- cant wait to hear some good news from you
JBM- sorry about your mums reaction...but your sisters weekend sounds great!
Grub- I can imagine the waiting and anticipation at the end must be draining- I hope youcan get plenty of rest in..thinking of you
-
Our little one has a heartbeat!
The locum ob was wonderful. We explained what happened at the last scan, and she just said 'right into the next room for a scan' and that was it - no stuffing around with bp or questions - straight to an internal and made sure that DH and I both saw the heartbeating. She did not measure the rate, but the baby is measuring right on 8wk6days - exactly where it should be. I wish she was our regular ob!
Now we can start to think about names - I had not let myself do that!
FG
-
farmgirl - what a relief! So happy for you :)
JBM - sorry your mum can't be a bit more understanding - sounds like a good weekend plan though! My next scan is Monday - trying not to think about it!
Grub - hope your appt goes well today
Hi possums, mindhugs, oneday and everyone else!
