Hey guys, thought I should pop back in and wave to you all. I have been reading not posting. i am feeling sick nearly all day....but im not actually vomiting thank god....just constant nausea which is not fun cause Im also hungry all the time so both of these at the same time is causing me grief....and I dont have the energy to actually type
All is going well aside from that though. I cant wait to get to my 12wk NT scan. Although Im pretty sure we are going to get the 'high risk' category just because of my age and I know DH will insist on further testing (I know his greatest fears about us getting preg at our age is DS) and I guess I need to decide what I want to do with that...
Nothing else really to say.....things are just rolling along. I am forcing myself to NOT look at the loo paper every time I go.....not having a lot of success at the moment.
oneday: i know what you mean about being pregnant, such an amazing journey. i love feeling kicking and moving around too. best of luck to you. wow you'll be meeting your baby any day now. good luck. x o x o
jacklicky: hope you feeling better soon. best of luck for 12 week scan. i am 39 also and didn't have any of the tests as i didn't want the extra stress. good luck
AFM: spent a couple of days with my sis, who is pregnant, 2 and half weeks to go til she is due.got some preg belly shots of us both and had a great time. we felt each other babies moving which was very special.
i am so excited waiting for her baby to be born now...................... :-)
i am feeling good but am going to go have a looooooooooooooooong bath and bed early tonight.
Well we got our BFP on Saturday and are excitedly but cautiously joining you all in here.
Will be back later for some more chit chat and intros....but in the meantime just a quick question. I don't know if anyone is familiar with Zita West but she says no swimming during the 2ww. I am now past the 2WW but only just at 4.5 weeks. It's probably a ridiculous question but do you think it's okay to swim. Ideally I'd prefer not to at least before my scan in 3 weeks time but my son has weekly swimming lessons and I have to go in the pool with him for them - do you think it's ok to go ahead and do that or should I just skip them for the next few weeks. Just don't want to do anything to jeopardise this little person that's planted themselves inside. I know that swimming is supposed to be excellent during pregnancy but why does fertility guru Zita West say no swimming during the 2ww???
A ridiculous question perhaps but a question nonetheless.....
Congratulations kmond! I've read Zita's ivf book, but I can't remember anything about swimming sorry. The only thing that comes to mind is possible leakage issues with the crinone! I know I've read that hot baths should be avoided - so maybe she was referring to heated pools? If it worries you at all, then I'd say it's better to err on the side of caution and give it a miss for a couple of weeks
Jacklicky - Hope you're feeling better soon, and all the best for your 12 week scan Lol at the loo paper - I still have that issue - old habits...!
Oneday - How are you going? Waiting for your ba!
JBM - Sounds like you're going well - how did your gt go?
Not much new for me. 10ish weeks to go - still hasn't sunk in!
JBM ~ I'm pretty good thanks for asking - apart from freaking out at every little tiny bit of pain or twinge. Ive had barely any MS at all - hopefully just lucky but I kinda wish I would get a bit. I'm glad you are feeling better.
Jacklicky ~ know exactly how you feel - I still look at the loo paper all the time.
KMond ~ congratulations! Great to have you in here. Sorry dont know anything about swimming.
Oneday ~ hope you are well!
Kass ~ wow only 10 weeks - very cool
AFM ~ freaking out again - nothing new lol! Last night and today Ive had strongish period type cramps. I'm 10 weeks - did you other ladies have this and freak out, do you think its just the uterus stretching or should I be concerned?
Loops: I would say that is normal, I had cramps from the very beginning, nearly 2nd trimester for you!
hey to all the other girls!
AFM: well I have had a really rough few days feeling terrible, went to my appointment yesterday and looked like death! was really short of breath, dizzy shaky and hot, had my student midwife with me luckily, she is lovely, anyway bubs heart was over 180 which was higher than last time and my bp is still high so she took a urine sample and blood and had protein in them and she didn't like the look of me so had to go to birth suite for the night. Was told if the heart rate goes over 200 to prepare for a c section! so my poor DF had to drag my 2 year old out of bed and sit with me against my advice but he was so worried bless him. they were so so busy in birth suite apparently so after a few hours sent me home, have to go back tomorrow morning for a scan and a talk with the reg regarding delivery I assume, they think bub may have a heart abnormality as they couldnt get a good look at my morph scan due to his/her position, so I have been a bit teary I was going along nicely with no issues like last time and so close to the end and now this. Just a bit stressed but will cope with a c section if I have to. Sorry for the rant ladies.
Thanks me+ ~ I hope everything will be ok, you never know maybe for some other reason they couldn't get a good look. for you!
Just think even if bub does come soon with a C-section - you'll have your baby in your arms! GL hun
Sorry for being MIA lately .. I will attempt some personals and if I miss anyone than I apologise in advance!
JBM – I hope bubs isn’t keeping you awake at night with all of that gymnastics going on, he, he! Sounds like you had a great time with your Sister . Me and my sister were pregnant together when I had DS and it was so nice to be able to share that special time with her… we both struggled to get there (pregnant) so it was even more special.
Jacklicky – How are you feeling? The morning sickness is so horrible isn’t it? I am really battling with the exhaustion this time round and find myself going to bed anywhere from 7 – 8:30pm! I hope the morning sickness has eased a little for you ((GBH)).
MHB – So sorry you are going through such a tuff time at the moment… the waiting is just agony ((GBH)). That ultrasound guy should get a new profession – it makes me so made when health professionals seem to forget that they are there to assist patients not make them feel worse – arrgghh! ’ing that all will be well.
dreamrise – congrats on the arrival of your baby girl. I hope you are managing with the lack of sleep…. it truly is a labour of love !
Yogi Bear – Sorry you are also having a tuff time of things hun ((GBH)). I haven’t heard of a two vessel placenta so sorry I am unable to shed any further light on the situation. It is not easy to hear that there could possibly be anything wrong with bubs so I am really ’ing that your scan next week is able to relieve you of your anxieties and confirm bubs is a healthy little bean.
Loops – I remember with DS I had really strong cramping which used to worry me so cramping is normal. I am actually worried about a lack of cramping this time round, he, he! I think it is just natural that us LTTTC’ers can’t help stressing ourselves out over everything as it is such a hard road to get here.
Kass – How are you feeling? Not too long for you to go now! Have you felt any Braxton Hicks yet?
KMond – Hey hun, so good to see you in this thread – yay! I am not sure on the swimming thing… my FS/ Ob hasn’t said anything about it and I haven’t asked as DS has grommets in and isn’t allowed to go swimming so it has never come up?? Have you found out an answer yet? How are you feeling?
AFM - Haven't been feeling the best of late and so, so tired which has been a real struggle with DS and work . Morning sickness suddenly lifted a couple of days ago (like I never had it in the 1st place) which totally freaked me out but seemed normal according to Dr Google.
I am happy to report that we had our 7 week scan and bubs measured exact for dates and had a healthy heart rate of 138bpm (another boy maybe?). DH and I were so relieved although we still have a little ways to go yet to get past the 12 week scan .
coral: good news about scan going well. now counting down to 12 week scan. best of luck to you. Baby has settled tonight but he usually wakes up about now so who knows. he he.
mehimbub: oh not long now to go. yeah those pesky babies should just be in the right position then we wouldn't have to worry. lol. good luck. less than 3 weeks to go now. x
AFM: baby is just starting to wake. night time madness you know. we have an open home this weekend. fingers crossed someone want to put in an acceptable offer. my mother gave me $ 100 to get a "birth"present for baby. she is so weird, acts like she doesn't even care about me or my si being pregnant then wants me to get a pressy. not compaining but someitmes just wish knew what was going on in her head. he he he
