I'm still here, quietly stalking other parts of the forum. Feeling a lot better as far as the morning sickness is concerned. Pretty tired and sleeping in a lot. Got my first hospital appt next week and the anomaly scan coming up too. Bit nervous about that one. Just hope everything is okay in there.
Spoons glad the sickness is settling for you. The next scan is such a great experience as you get to see Bubs for longer while they measure everything
Good luck!
All looks good on the scan today. DH shed a few tears, bless him! Baby was in a funny position to get a proper look at the spine. I did some jumping around and drank some cold water but Bub was too comfy in there so I'm going back on Wednesday to try again. So I get another look!
Finally had my first appt at the hospital. There were a few little stuff ups but it was good to touch base with them and get the ball rolling. I go back again in a few weeks.
What brilliant news Matthews Mum. On my way! So pleased to hear your expecting again. What a journey it must have been.
I remember you from many years ago when I was ttc my 3rd. She arrived early 2011. We didn't prevent after her birth and eventually in 2014 I conceived my son. Then by some miracle a surprise pregnancy occurred when he was 9months old. I'm still getting my head around it but know what a blessing he or she is. I can't believe how long and how many losses we had ttc no 3 and 4 and then number 5 came along when we were preventing. I never would have predicted this.
Wishing you a happy and healthy remained of your pregnancy. I hope it hadn't been too stressful. My anxiety was through the roof with no 3 and 4. Now I'm just so worried something is wrong and just want to get through this NT scan and morphology scan.
Thank you mildez,we are in the same belly buddies group ,,still have to pinch myself sometimes ,yes feeling very scared but I knew that would be part of the deal..when is your nt scan ?
My NT scan is on Friday. I wished I had of had the harmony test and now I can't get into an Ob for a month. I've also been having some bleeding and some other issues relating to my anatomy
Mildez- everything crossed for Friday for you ,even legs ,dh and I are too scared to do anything down there ,drs haven't said its off limits but I'm being slightly irrational with this pregnancy ,think after loss and ltttc it's part of the course..seems heaps quieter at bb than it used to
That's completely understandable Matthews Mum.
Yes BB is now very quiet which is such a shame. It was so active when I first joined back in 2009.
My scan went well. I was really worried about it and will be about the morphology scan too when the time comes. Bub looked good I think although I won't get the results for a week. NT was 1.8mm, Hr 154. I think I got a hint of The gender although we were not planning on finding out. Bub is measuring a few days ahead.
Mildez -glad your scan went well, thanks for the update ,I was thinking how it went,,afm - feeling bit out of touch with things ,looking for a mattress and haven't been able to find one with the waterproof on one side, thought maybe they have found through research that their not safe ,so ring SIDS and kids ,and lady said ring back on Monday ,I have no idea what sort of mattress your talking about ,did they used to sell them ,,I'm like my 10 year old had one ...things change over the years though,,and they recommend sleeping on back now ,not side ,,,6th pregnancy ,3 living children ,and I'm thinking maybe I need to go to antenatal refresher course ,lol
My Mattress on the cot isn't a special one although it is super hard. Our 12month old still sleeps in our bed (and still on the boob). We have only just started putting him in his cot which is a foot from our bed but he doesn't last for long. We will keep trying. I don't know where to put our baby when it arrives. I thought about a bassinet but it will grow out of it quickly. I am wondering if you can get a large cradle that's not the size of a cot but bigger then a bassinet with deeper sides so it wont flip out of it as soon as it could a bassinet. SIDS recommend a well fitting firm mattress with no bumpers, teddies etc. I will have one of those breathing monitors on our baby. I love the piece of mind. Its not hospital grade but gives some reassurance that it will go off if bub stops breathing. I am really paranoid about SIDS. Although obviously some families are at higher risk it can also randomly happen to anyone. I probably stopped using the monitor with DS when he was about 8months as it was having so many false alarms.
I know I don't belong in this group anymore seeing as this wasn't a ltttc conception but thought I would pop in anyway seeing as no one else is currently active in here.
I had a scare on Monday. After work which of course was after hours I read my voice messages on my home phone and had a message from the Dr saying I needed to come in and could I call for an appointment. Naturally I assumed it was a bad result from my NT scan. I couldn't call until Tuesday morning so spent the night googling and panicking with little sleep there was something wrong. Anyway I was able to call yesterday and I was told my thyroid results are abnormal. I don't know my NT results but the fact it wasn't mentioned I am hoping means a low risk result. I will find out what's going on with my thyroid today with any luck.
In other news I am looking forward to the 2nd trimester which is only a few days away. I am starting to feel a few taps inside which is amazing. I love feeling them move.
Do you have any names picked for your little girl?
yes i like the breathing monitors as well ,my 10 year old had one ,it was a babysense one ,noticed the other day they have come down in price ,maybe as they have been around a bit longer now and other brands are available now ,,ive bought a babyhood cosy crib to go into the cot to bypass the bassinet stage ,they used to call them snuggle beds, used them for my now 18 and 10 year old ,was reading they can be used as a co sleeper as well...hope the thyroid issue can be sorted without too much drama..im calling my babygirl Annabelle Lola ,ive had Annabelle at the back of my mind since ds1and Lola is in memory of my mum, trying to find ways of including her ,she was here through so much of the ivf ,acupuncture ,oesteopath the chinese herbs, sad that she passed before seeing me pregnant again,if i have anything to do with it though this baby will grow knowing her nanna loved and wanted her long before she was born
The monitor I used with my last bub was the Snuza Hero Baby Movement Monitor. I had used others with my older kids but definitely found this type to be convenient. Very small and portable.
I am sorry to hear your mum won't get to meet precious Annabelle. I absolutely love the name. I had it on our list but DH refused as its close to our eldest daughters name. And 2 of our kids have rhyming names. It wasn't deliberate but it turns out everyone gets their names mixed up ALL the time.
I saw the most loveliest GP yesterday. My thyroid TSH level is extremely low. They want another level done in 3weeks and depending on that result I may have to start thyroxine. Apart from that I am not anaemic and the ultrasound was very reassuring. Risk of trimsomy's were all 1:8000 or more. I have found the fatigue to be absolutely crippling so I am glad to know its not only breastfeeding and pregnancy making me feel so bad. I am really struggling to work. I am suppose to be increasing my hours in 2weeks. I can't get out of it but I do think I can do shorter days (maybe 7hours instead of 8 so not heaps).
Matthewsmum: I haven't been on BB in a long time but logged in tonight and I am SO thrilled to see your news that you are pregnant !! huge congratulations to you, sounds like you have been through a lot to get there, 11 transfers in a lot to go through I hope things go well for you
Mildez: also happy to see your name and another bundle on the way, you have been through a lot too, hoping all goes well for you too
Mildez-shorter workdays sound good ,I'm very tired as well but think that is my iron levels ,they have put me on iron supplements ,I was taking the multivitamins but blood test showed it wasn't enough iron so I'm on both now..minniemouse -thanks,nice to see another familiar name ,hope all is well with you and yours ....afm- officially in the 3rd trimester ,,furthest I'm been pregnant since my 10 year old ,,still scary but hopeful
