I would if I knew what I was doing Smithy! Operating a toaster is about my technological limit Wantbaby - no, it's more like the pain I imagine athletes get (not me ha ha ha ha) in their calves when they've run a long way but not stretched. Just my calf, and occaisionally the underside of my foot. More often my left than my right, oddly. I don't know about yours, I think if it's more painful than just cramping, I'd def get it checked out just for peace of mind.

I've just eaten a huge piece of Christmas cake (well dried fruit is fruit isn't it!?!) and Baby G is jumping on my stomach - down where I imagine my appendix is, a very strange but lovely sensation! I wonder if this means it does or doesn't like Christmas cake, or whether it's bored of me sitting at the table typing (I'm allegedly working at home...)

Tomorrow is a big day, only 150 days to go... then next date is half way which I can't wait for. I am inspired by you Lise and am going to get my arse into gear and start getting more stuff. Once DH is no longer in denial that we're going to have a baby, it'll be great. (I think LTTTC has had a more profound impact on him than on me, he's still waiting for something to go wrong!!!)

    Hello ladies,

BDT - what gorgeous photos! The girls look like they're growing well and you and DH look so happy

smithy - i'm with Londonmiss in that I don't know what to do to FB so you can see the pics, so sorry!!! And yes, we haven't heard from boc for ages so hope everything is okay.

wantbaby - I haven't had any leg cramps yet, but perhaps a visit to your GP, or a chat to your midwife might be helpful. Sounds quite painful, they must be able to do something for you!

Londonmiss - I was really nervous the night before our scan too and could hardly sleep. And it will probably be the same tonight as we have our OB appointment tomorrow so we'll get the results. Like you, I worry they'll somehow know just how much chocolate i've eaten and point to some terrible deficiencies in the chicklet as a direct result... And don't be too inspired by me - it's just that I went shopping with someone infinitely more organised than me and once I saw things I liked decided I had to have them straight away. My DH is more like yours - was happy to wait until about 8 months until we bought anything so I kind of had to force him a bit, but he seems okay now!!

mitf - yay for reaching 20 weeks such a good feeling. I've even started counting down the days until I can start my mat leave now, how sad is that?!

Hello to everyone else, hope you're all going well. I'm off for a bath and an early night!

    lise xx

Hey all. My baby (dog) has just had a fit on the living room floor, with her legs stuck out like a zombie and twitching for about a minute. She's just gone off to the vet now, happy as larry, tail wagging. And I'm sat here worrying and terrified. Oh God. Sorry for not talking about pregnancy but DH and all 'real life' friends at work, and no one in the UK will want to hear about it at midnight so I'm telling you....

London miss~Im so sorry about your dog.Is he ok now? What did the vet say was the cause? Its awful seeing your pets sick. They become your babies too.My cat was up vomiting all night but he was just bringing up fur balls...eeewww.It sacres me at first but he seems fine afterwards.
Let us know how your dog went ok hun?

I havent been able to catch up on whats going on with everyone so im sorry for leaving out everyone.
I remember some girls in here wishing me luck with all the drama going on.Thankyou so much.xx
The wedding went fine.Everyone was congratulating me and saying how beautiful i looked.(except the ex of course LOL ) She just sat with her drug dealing husband in the corner all night while DH and i had a lovely time.We even slow danced!!!!!! DH NEVER slow dances. My bump was kinda pushing him away though as im looking like im 6 months!...really!! Most of those who havnt seen me thought i was and were shocked to hear im 4 months.

The car issue...well we still are without a car and the in laws want to sell us theirs but i dont want that type of car and shouldnt have too pay off something DH and i didnt really want.We found the car we wanted but they said,"we wont lend you the 16000 you want for THAT car but you can pay off 14000 to us for our car that we think you should have!!!! AAARRRGGGHHHH.I said i will catch the bus!

Regardsing my terrible leg pains i rang the nurses at my obs clinic(which is my ivf clinic) and she didnt know what to think. She thought it could be a blood clot but the pain is in both of my outer thighs and stops through the day so she said that counts that out.I folded a big doona and put it under my side of the bed.My leg pains didnt start this time til 7.30 this morning and were gone by about 9.I got to fall back to sleep and woke at 10.40!! I slept all through the night and woke once at 3am to wee so im in a much better mood today.

Hope all is well with everyone.xx

Wantbaby: I just wanted to drop in and offer my advice re the leg pain... I started suffering from the pain on my outer left thigh while pregnant as well (not quite a numb feeling but sort of feels like it is when you touch it and with a pins and needles type sensation). I asked my OB about it and he said it is one of the pg things as the baby can press on any number of nerves and blood vessels... To this day (4 mths after having DD) I still have pain and numbness come and go, so looks like some minor nerve damage may have been done. The things we go through hey, but to me it is just one of the reminders of what I went through to have DD and I wouldn't have it any other way.

lise... Sorry what I meant by my MIL and DIL comeing to the rescue was that they are going to pay for our broken car.. but I actually AM walking up the big hills atm with DS pram, groceries and nearly 30 week belly.. Today was one of the worst so far..

my sons Kindy is just over 2 and a half K's away.. So effectively I have walked about 10 K's today at least there and back there and back again (not taking into account the detour to the bus stop and the shops aswell..) Not to mention by the end of it I was barefoot after my shoes had efficiently rubbed to top of my feet off, and drenched in rain along with my son...

The beggining of the day it was about 35 degrees and the sun was blazing on me the whole way TO the kindy. Then after dropping off my son I walked to the pathalogist to do my GCT and after waiting there for an hour and finally being called in.. was told I had to come back next week because I didnt have an appointment (even tho I did!!!) but this woman was lecturing me like a school principle and was not going to accept that i had actually made one.. she was a real cow and I left there amazingly grumpy! Then I caught a bus to the main shopping mall bought my groceries..barely had enough to pay for them.. hauled them back on the bus and had NO ONE get up and let me sit down until I made a very unpleasant scene about it.. then walked back to the kindy picked up my son and then the 2.5 k's home with ds groceries and belly up the hill in the pouring rain.. By the time I finally got home I was exhausted and had to shower me and DS after both being absolutely satched .. then luckily he fell asleep and here I am..

MIL and DIL say the car wont be fixed for another couple weeks at the soonest.. Apparently its a big and expensive job..

Sorry to pop on here just to rant but I got my liscence last year BECAUSE I didnt want to be stuck in this sort of situation.. and yet here I am.. lol

Im exhausted as Ive ever been.. so ill do persies later.. wish me luck hopefully Ill have this car back sooner rather then later

Kyra - I hope things get better soon. I am planning my first walk to the shops tomorrow. This is a big deal for me as by the end of my pregnancy I couldnt even walk to the letter box because I was in so much pain so I am a little bit excited.

Had Xavier weighed today finally after 19 days he has finally gained back his birth weight, plus 10g extra just to make me happy.

LM - Hope you furbaby is ok.

Wishing everyone all the best and big belly rubs. ( Hehe, DH rolled over and rubbed my belly last night and I said theres nothing there now but guts, oh and flab)

    hello ladies,

Emerald Star - so very happy to see you here!! I posted in the other thread, but just to reiterate, your beta figures were better than mine were (don't think I knew the others sorry) so I wouldn't worry too much. Easier said than done I know, but I say enjoy the weekend

saph - yay for Xavier gaining weight, good job!!

kyra - hope you get the car back soon though just think of how fit and healthy you will be by the time it's done! I'm embarrassed to say i've been so lazy I had a tantrum when DH asked me to walk to the shops to get milk while he was cooking dinner. The shops are 300m away...

wantbaby - glad you survived the wedding with your integrity intact! And hoping you find some answers soon regarding the pain in your legs.

londonmiss - hope your precious furbaby is okay now xx

AFM - had an OB appointment today which in itself wasn't very exciting (though always nice to hear the heartbeat!) but we did get the results from our scan last week. All is good with the Chicklet, though looking at the individual results it seems judging by the measurements at 20 weeks she's going to be a shortie (no surprises there, both DH and I are a bit on the short side) with a big head!! Am hoping the head circumference growth slows down before the birth though i've been assured I shouldn't pay any attention to the measurements now as all proportions will change!

Anyway, quick question - i've just finished my enormous box of Elevit and my OB said no need to take any more but up to me if I wanted to continue. Have done some reading and it seems there are recent studies showing linkages between taking folate later in pregnancy and increased asthma risks. Did others continue taking anything later on or did you generally stop after 12 or so weeks? I was intially planning on taking something just for that extra reassurance the Chicklet was getting sufficient nutrients, but am having second thoughts, so any advice greatly appreciated!!

Hope you're all going well, belly rubs to all.

    lise xx

Emerald Star - Welcome hun! I am so glad to finally see you joining us over in this thread. I sent you a PM about your levels... they look really good to me.

Lise - I am still taking Elevit too, although I haven't been as strict since 12 weeks. I am probably taking it 5 or so days a week.... so I will be interested to hear everyone’s thoughts. If you do decide to stop, I believe you should get your self some iron tablets still.

London Miss - sorry to read about your dog.... I hope all is ok now.

Wantbaby - glad to hear the wedding went well hun and good luck with getting the car you want. I can completely understand you not wanting to pay all that money for someone elses off casts.

Kyra - hats off to you hun. I have been having on and off hip pain and don't think I could even walk that far some days. I hope your car is fixed soon and you don't get stuck in any more rain!

AFM – I am only 20 weeks and it seems I have scared my DH off. He is really tired and I have apparently been disturbing him…. He has to get up early tomorrow and has opted to sleep in the guest room! Speaking of bed I should head there myself... it will be nice to spread out but I am so used to him being there it feels weird!

Regarding the Elevit,im not sure how long to take it for.Im on the Blackmores Pregnancy gold and plan on taking it through breastfeeding?

Kyra~ I feel for you having to walk soooo much.I dont even get to the letterbox LOL so your doing better than me.Im the laziest slob ever.Im even getting cellulite over my thighs. My mum said i need to walk to exercise but with my achy legs i cant bear the thought of it.I hope your car troubles are fixed asap.

Emerald~ My first beta 16 DPO was 400 then it had more than doubled 2 days later. My clinic were very haooy with my results saying i was "definately" pregnant.
Congratulations on your positive test.Best of luck. x

Well my in laws have now sold us thanks to my husband agreeing with them, their 2 year old Mazda Tribute for $12000.I hate the car!! Its gold and old ladyish,i cant see out the back of it and cant park it.We should be getting it soon I wanted the Holden Astra in shiny black.

Anyhow im 16 weeks today!!! I have my next antenatal next week and am looking forward to maybe another scan.I asked my ob last time if when i came back if i could have one to maybe get a peek of bubs inbetweens.I wonder if he will do it,if not i have my 19 week scan early March.

I forgot who it was who just foind out they are having a baby girl??? Congrats anyhow. You must be so excited.

    Lots of love to all.XXX

Morning all. Hope you are well. Emeraldstar - many many congratulations, wonderful to have you here! I can't remember what my numbers were but they were lower than yours, so don't worry... and welcome again!

Saph - so pleased that you are back to a good weight, hope all is going well!

wantbaby - glad you now have your car even if it's not the one you want. Cars are so expensive here, I think we'll try and stick to our decision and not get one... but remind me of this when I have a hissy fit and we get one in 6 months time you can all hold up banners saying we told you so....

Yes, Smithy, you are right. BOC has been missing in action. Hope you are well sweetie?

Mitf/ Lise, so pleased to hear about your scans etc. Pleased to say we had our this morning and its.... drum roll .... a girl and all is perfect. Although she's kicking well enough to join the All Blacks... I'm so excited. My friend just said to me ".... when you have your daughter...." and it took me a few minutes to twig what she was on about! oh I'm just sharing the love today.... hugs all round
