Cool!!! I get the first post ....

Well slowly but surely working myself up into a quiet state of hysteria here ... go to the dr's today to get my travel papers all sorted, book my flight to the OB, and get lots of motion sickness pills to deal with the trip.

m/s is definately easing off ... and instead of making me really happy, that's just adding to the worry.

First "offical" dating/checking scan on the 20th, and instead of it being the most happy and exciting time, it just feels like I'm getting closer and closer to the day when they do the scan and the dream shatters.

I have absolutely no logical reason for this ... I've had the m/s, boobs are still heavy and sore, there's been no spotting or bleeding what-so-ever, no major cramps, darnit I've even got a little pot belly ... why can't I just settle down and believe that once in my sodding life things "might" just go our way???

Sorry ... I'll wander back to my padded room now ....

    Hi everyone

I had my dating scan this morning. Diva-n-Dan, I felt exactly like you, I was nervous and felt sick to my stomach. This time almost to the day last year we had our first scan and found out we had lost the baby, so I was scared and paranoid. Good news this time though, the Sonographer found the baby straight away and the heartbeat was nice and strong. So I am feeling a bit better now. I am not as far along as we thought, going by my LMP i should be 9 weeks 3 days, but I am actually 7 weeks 1 day. Now I just have to try to relax and hope this one is a keeper.

Much love and best wishes to everyone, hope you are all doing well.

Hey Smegs, great news on your scan!

I love Diva-n-Dan's story too! It just makes me laugh/cry, especially the way you went on to 'torture' your poor GP...

Glad to hear things are progressing well for you Mako - guess it won't be too long before we're pestering you for labour news...

speaking of which... no, i won't ask. you'll tell us. and you know who you are.

ALR - how're you doing? Hanging in there?

I have nothing of any particular interest to say. My mum had to lie to relatives again - she claims she was more convincing this time. Gearing up for a very busy time at work over the next 3-4 weeks, and we're moving at the same time. Had forgotten about the bloody forum in September. Will have to pressure DH to be more helpful.

    Take care everyone

Clare - a huge Welcome to you & what fabulous news of being pg with twins.

ALR - hoping you are doing ok, hang in there.

Destiny - Congratulations on your pg!

Diva - sometimes I find that finally being pg is still hard to believe & I am 26 wks, so it does take a long time & I guess until you have that bub in your arms it never really goes away so you just need to try & be as positive as you can.

Mako - glad your appoint. went well, my dr said epidural to me as well which I do need to do a bit of research on as well.
He said if you REALLY want pain relief that is the way to go.

    Monnie - still no ziggy?

I know this is probably too much info but does anyone have a remedy for constipation (like is there anything else I could possible get!!!).
I have tried licorice, coffee but couldn't force any prune juice down that was revolting, what else can I try?

    Jo - 27 (treated endo)

DJTTC - One word for you ... metamusil ... I personally take the fibre caps, but the powder's totally safe for PG too ... couldn't live without it at the moment ....

My HCG was 156....have no idea if that's good or not and the nurse told me I am now considered 4 weeks.

    Congratulations Claire, and welcome!

I'm sure your scan will be really great Kotare, and you can finally spill the beans!

Glad to hear you bought some stuff Clare - there'll be no stopping you now.

And thanks for the reassurances on bloating - the doc told me "Basically, you won't be able to fit into your skinny jeans for at least a year or so." Not that I wear skinny jeans, but anyway, at least the pain's gone... Just slightly resentful about having to wear baggy tracky dacks in the first trimester - but at least it's winter, hey.

All the best with finding people to take over from you Mako and DJTTC. It's always a problem, cause, you know what they say, if you want something done properly...

    Any more movements Lt Panda?

Hey Sazz, I know what you mean. I just scroll down the latest messages while i'm writing as a reminder...

Hi's all round! Hope everyone is doing well.

Claire Congrats and welcome. I wish you all the best for the next 8 months.

Kotare All the best for your scan on Wednesday and I'm sure you can't wait to tell the "world". All the best with the move too.

Marcellas Don't feel bad about wearing trackies hun. I have to say that I pretty much live in them atm lol. Atleast I can wear mine to work too. Its a bit harder when the weather gets warmer though.

Sazz Don't feel bad about "personal" posts. Thats what we are here for hun. Who else would we feel free to talk too during our most difficult times? Its good to get everything off our chest and may I add, its very healthy. I also scroll down the page to see where everyone's up to and then do my personals. It makes it much easier.

I've had a busy day today. I had to work this morning and then I had a seminar to attend for work this afternoon. I have to say it was very boring and I was so uncomfortable. It was quite hot in the room and I just swelled up like a balloon. My boss couldn't believe how fast my fingers swelled and then the cankles happened again and they are still up tonight

I hope you are all having a great weekend and big belly rubs to you all

Hey Diva-n-Dan, I think we all feel that way . Just you wait till you see your little baby - then you'll know it's real. It's kinda cool how you have to book airtickets to see your OB...

Welcome Destiny - hope you're doing well.

No news on Ziggy's arrival plans, Monnie?

Hi Danni Its good to see you pop in. How's little Mason doing? I bet he's growing so fast.
Monnie posted last night and by the sounds of things not too much is happening yet. I think we all need to give ziggy a good talking too lol.

Destiny Welcome and congrats on your pregnancy.

Monnie Sending more L.V's to you hun. Come on ziggy you can do it!!!!

diva-&-dan Its ok for you to feel like this hun. Take care of yourself and that little bub in your belly. I'm sure everything will be great when you have your scan next week. Not too long to go and your mind will be at ease then.

I've just got back from my ob appointment. It all went as well as it could. I asked about my birth choices and I was told that I'd only have a c/s if bubs is stressed or in danger of any sort. I just wanted to know as I have a back injury and wanted to know what my options are. Anyway I've been told I need to think about pain relief and she recommended an epidural which is worrying me a bit. Anyway I better start doing some research I think. I also need to have another scan in 5 weeks to check on bub and the placenta and to see if its safe for me to stop taking some medication. However that could mean that bub will arrive a bit early but then again he might not. Its all a bit up in the air atm as I guess it always is when you're pregnant.Anyway I go back again in 3 weeks and then 2 weeks and evevntually weekly. I also asked about the swelling and was told that next time it happens I need to get my b.p checked. I also had a urine test today and that was ok. No protien or anything so thats good.

I hope you are all ok.

    Hey guys

    Still here! Again...nothing really happening!

Sort of resigning myself to the possible fact that it may not be until next week yet...

Like I was saying to DH, we've waited 3 years and 9 months for this baby, so what's another week???

Went for a walk this morning...a little longer than I anticipated as our fur baby, Kenny, decided to be a VERY naughty boy at the park and refuse to come back to the lead for 30 minutes!!! Well...at least it filled in another 30 minutes of waiting for Ziggy!!! LOL!

Mako...glad to hear that Ob. appointment went okay. Good news about no protein. Re. the epidural...I think it's pretty standard that Obs recommend that now...check out the Birthskills book (Juju Sundin) that I've talked about...it's really very good...I'm more than happy to send it through to you...just if you could send it back when you're finished with it, as I want to pass it onto my sister eventually...just pm me your address!

Diva-n-dan...yep...I know that padded room well!!! Hang in there...it will get easily...but I think being a LT-er, it's really really normal to feel what you are feeling. But guess what...good things do come to those who wait..and that's US!!! Looking forward to hearing about your scan...

    Marcellus...hope you're doing well!

Danni...thanks for checking in on me! Such a lovely thought! How's Mason doing?

Thanks everyone ... I suppose the worry never goes away ... we worry when we're TTC, then we worry when we're pregnant and no doubt we'll worry over them for the rest of our lives!!!

Marcellus - It's got it's good points and it's bad ... unfortunately I have to pack an overnight bag with me just incase the first u/s goes pearshaped and they have to admit me ... it's not like I can go back in a hurry for surgery!!! Doesn't help to instill an air of calm though ... but such is the mysteries of life ... can't WAIT to hear a heartbeat and get told that everything's fine ...

Mako - Glad your OB appointment went well ... and as for pain relief ... I can't say anything about an epidrual, but when I dislocated my elbow they gave me gas and that stuff's FABULOUS!!! Felt a bit foggy, but still totally in control and aware, no pain, and just a wonderful gooey feeling all over ... soooooo going to go down the gas path for our labour ... I was sooo peeved when they'd fixed my elbow and took the gas away from me ....

Monnie - Lovely to hear you're still feeling serene about it all ... I hope I'm as patient as you when the time comes ... right now I'm eager to get the first 12/14 weeks over and done with ... and if I'm this ancy now, LORD only knows how far up the walls I'll be climbing when we near our due date! ... it's been wonderful to lurk around and read you story ... nice to see that sometimes, just sometimes, the light at the end of the tunnel isn't an oncoming train with a flamethrower .... I wish you all the blessings and good fortune in the world ...

Llt Panda ... our next cab off the rank if memory serves me (and since becoming pregnant it doesn't serve me at all!) ... How are you trucking along??? I hope everything is going well.

ALR ... we never got to IVF!!! We were "supposed" to do IVF, 'cause 7 rounds of clomid and a lap and dye surgery found chronic tubal damage and failure to ovulate and I've got the medical reports here saying that we had 0% chance of conceiving naturally ... but we proved everyone wrong when an u/s at our first IVF appointment found me 6w1d preggers!!!

Diva-n-dan...I love your story of your little miracle...totally amazing! You've been on quite a journey! I too found the first trimester excruciatingly painful in terms of the 'waiting'...it just dragged and dragged...I sort of feel it's a bit easier at this end, because realistically the wait is only a matter of days...so I'm sure you will be fine...

Good to hear that I'm coming across serene...not sure if that's my true reality...but it sounds good! Just trying to keep myself busy. Read and finished a book yesterday and are now half way through another one! Just mopped the floors and will go and put a load of washing on now! That'll knock off another 30 minutes of waiting...LOL! Oh...and I bought some miniature rubber duckies the other day from Holy Sheet...my project for today is to mount them in the shadow photo boxes I bought for Ziggy's room (not that Ziggy HAS a room at the moment...still waiting on renovations to start!!! Finally the builder got back to us yesterday and said it shouldn't be too far off now!)...

ALR...I've posted in your other thread but just wanted to say how what an amazing woman you are...despite the difficulties you're experiencing at the moment, you are thinking of others...what wonderful strength! I truly hope that everything turns out wonderfully for you.

    Ltl Panda...that's fantastic news...wonderful!

Smegs...great news on the scan...it's looking good!

Jo...hoping things "clear" up!!! I didn't really have this problem so nothing to advise...sorry!

Marcellus...sounds like you are going to be a busy girl...moving + work commitments...hopefully they will make the time fly!

Well...as you can see...still here! No news! Off to Ob. tomorrow so hopefully he can give me some idea of what's happening (or not happening!). Just taking things pretty easy...onto my third book now!!! House is looking beautifully clean! Baby is getting very tight in my belly! It's amazing being able to feel his/her different parts...surely Ziggy wants to come out soon!!!

    Hope everyone is doing well!

Jo Sorry I can't offer any advice in that department either. I hope things sort themselves out for you soon.

Ltl Panda Well done on a great result. I bet you are so happy.

Marcellas Your poor mum having to lie to your relaltives. What are mums for hey I hope your dh realises he needs to help EVERYTHING. Mine has a hard time realising this at times too and wonders why I get cranky with him lol.

Smegs Thats great news that all went well with your scan. When are you due?

Monnie I'm sure ziggy will get sick of being in there and want to come out to meet you very soon hun. Hang in there and I'm sure your ob will have some answers for you tomorrow. Thanks for the offer about the book but I went out yesterday afternoon and bought myself a copy. I knew you were really happy with it and thought I should get myself one. Thanks anyway I'll have to start reading it soon I think.

Nothing to report here atm. Its very cold and miserable outside I might need to light the fire very soon. Its a shock to the system as last week was so lovely and warm. Oh well it is winter after all.

Has anyone heard from Keen lately? I hope she and her little girls are ok. I read her post the other day and I'm a little worried about her.
