Mako...you have me absolutely intrigued regarding your little boy's name...ohhh...can't wait to hear it...though I think I remember you saying that it might be under wraps for the moment...can't quite remember...very exciting! Washing the dog, hey? Our dog HATES baths...the only way I can get him to have a wash is if I take him in the shower with me!!!

Marcellus...I'm trying really hard not to be impatient...I sort of figure that this is a really special time...my last days before becoming a Mum...and as much as I can't wait to see our little one, I'm trying to really enjoy these days of waiting...trying to reflect, relax and savour the little luxuries in life (e.g. uninterrupted naps) that I may not have again for some time...

Monnie, this morning my eyes glazed over reading your post, It is such a special moment in your life as you mentioned "trying to reflect, relax and savour the little luxuries in life (e.g. uninterrupted naps) that I may not have again for some time..." I guess this is the time to sit back and look back at the ups and downs on achieving the pregnancy and than the pregnancy itself, and how soon you will be holding the little miracle in your arms and planning a future for them.

So cannot wait to be in your shoes

Sorry girls to keep you all intrigued about my little boys name but it is a secret until he's here safely with us.

Monnie I have to admit that DH and I cheat a bit when it comes to bathing our dog. We have a mobile dogwash come every 2 weeks and it makes life so much easier and our boy loves it. Although we have put him in the bath tub on a few occasions and he doesn't like that too much lol.
You are so right about enjoying the moments of pregnancy. I have to say that while its going to be fantastic to have our bub with us, I think I'm going to miss feeling him kicking and moving in my tummy too.

Kotare I'm really not all that active hun. I do try to be and I guess I'm lucky that I get to do some exercise while I'm at work(swimming teacher) otherwise the only other form of exercise I get is taking my gorgeous black labrador for a walk which he loves.

It is a bummer about my gp leaving and the worst part is she's moving interstate (so I can't really follow her lol. I did get a recommendation of another dr in the same practice so may try them out sometime). My skin is still very itchy and red but the cream should start to work in the next few days. My cold is also a bit better now as I just have a cough, so I can't complain too much.

I've been busy getting my baby shower guest list sorted out and invites posted. I didn't want to have one so when I finally agreed I just said I wanted something small and as its turned out 43 people are invited :rolleyes: I'm sure not all of these people will turn up but it is alot more than I expected lol. Oh well it should be a fun day catching up with everyone.

Mako...we haven't really announced our baby name choices either...I have to some family and a few friends but that's about it...mainly because I didn't necessarily want to get everyone's opinions on whether they like them or not...most people don't seem to like our girl's name...but that's okay...it is a little different...but I sort of like that!

I've wondered about a mobile dogwash but Kenny hates his baths so much, I didn't think he would go for this either...maybe we should try one day...he's such a little scruff...love him to bits though...

Maybe Kenny would like to have someone else give him his bath. My boy Mako( hence where my username comes from lol) love having the man come to bath him. He gets so excited running to the front door to let me know its his bath time. I tell him the morning of "bath day" that it is bath day today and he looks at me as if he knows what I'm saying( I'm sure he does lol. So much personality)

My baby shower is the 26th of this month.So only a couple of weeks away really.

I too am looking for a different name, DH is Greek and I am Romanian, so we want a name that is a little unusual, so I do not think I will be telling anyone until the little one out.
I have my scan tomorrow, really looking forward to it, ms has eased of and so I do not really feel pregnant and this will just slap me in the face and say yes you are……..

Congratulations on your BFP...wonderful news!!!

I'm doing well...just trying to do my business books (which is totally doing my head in)...

No movement on the birth front...to be honest, I don't feel much different from when I was 35 weeks (except BIGGER!)...so I guess that means that the baby is pretty comfy where he/she is at the moment...

I have another Ob. appointment tomorrow night, so hopefully I'll get an update...but my feeling is that the baby hasn't moved positions in the last week...still not engaged, still posterior!!!

Actual due date is this Monday...but I'll be surprised if anything happens by then...

Oh well...still trying to enjoy my last days of pregnancy without giving in to the "I've had enough of this" feeling yet...LOL!

Good to hear your doing well monnie, I have to admit i'm bit tired today, i was up til2 this morning on BB. I couldnt sleep... DP and me are having a war of silence. thats his way of arguing. do you think if i left sticky notes for him all over the house that it would be taking the "no speaking" thing too far? hehe
both DS and DD were both posteria at birth. DD was actually breech at 34 weeks but decided to turn by 36 weeks! that was an uncomfortable couple a weeks.

I cant wait to get where you are... must be both an exciting time but with a sense of quiet stillness?
I'm a huge slacker and still havent gotten anything organised for a nursery.. oh well i'll get to it.

Don't worry about not getting anything done for the nursery...I'm due in 4 days and we don't have a nursery!!!

We are supposed to be having renovations to the house...the renovations include building a room so that my DH's study can become the baby's room...7 months later, they still haven't started! SOOOO FRUSTRATING...but due to the housing boom in Perth, it's pretty much impossible to get anything done...so I'm sitting in a house, all ready for renovations to happen (ie. things packed in boxes...our dining room is just a room of boxes now...pavement all pulled up out the back so it's now a massive dirt patch) but still waiting on the builder for a start date...my bet is that they will start on my EDD...but even that looks unlikely now! The laundry is supposed to be renovated too...that was meant to be finished in April...still hasn't started...but hopefully it will commence in the next few weeks...

AHHHHHHHH!!!

Anyway...trying not to get too upset by the ridiculous wait and impossible mess...I figure it's a lesson in flexible parenting...and as much as I love to have a home that is well organised and a pleasure to live in...I have to let that go at the moment!

Sorry to hear that you're tired....you poor thing...hope things work out with DP soon...

How did you find your posterior births? I know (or have heard about how painful they are)...do you have any tips???

I'm hearing you on the renos. I don't think ours will be started by the time our bub arrives either. We haven't evevn put any plans into council so I'll be very suprised if it happens anytime soon. Luckily for us we only want to build a garage so dh can move all of his fishing gear and toys out of the what is going to be nursery.

I can't believe that I'm 26 weeks today. The time seems to be going so fast. I just said to my dh last night that it all seems so scary atm. We are due to start our antenatal classes on the 3rd Sept.It all seems so close now and with the baby shower not too far away either.

Wow Mako...26 weeks!!! That has gone so quickly...you're nearly 3rd trimester...how wonderful!

The antenatal classes are great...you'll feel that bit more prepared for the whole thing...though it is still a little scary, I must admit! It's such an amazing feeling to sit in one of those classes...especially after everything us LT-ers have gone through to get there!!!

I know...the finance books are really awful...didn't realise that I had a BAS statement due on my EDD...that's good timing for you!!!

Maybe I could change the meaning of Business Activity Statement to Birthing Activity Started!!!

Damn... the sun just went away again. Was just starting to enjoy that. Oh well.

Monnie to be honest because both babies were posterior I didn't know they were supposed to be more painful? I did have quick labours though... with DS i was drip induced but when i hit 5-6 cm dilated he was born 45mins later, with DD was even quicker... midwife estimated 3 minutes!

I do remember having strong back pain in last week or so and during labour... but really i didnt know that posterior was harder ( how out-of-the-loop was I????!)

hope all goes well. Sorry to hear about the BAS timing but hey... keeps your mind off pacing the house??

DP and i usually do sort it out... i just like driving him crazy trying to make him speak to me.... a trick my mother taught me when men sulk

You might have seen from my post that we bought a house...last night!! It was so exciting, and because DH is at work atm, i had to do all the paperwork. I told him he'd better be extra nice to me or i might 'forget' to put his name on the title. ;)

We bought a nice new tele on friday too - we have never owned a new tele...always someone's cast offs. So we wanted one, and we figured we'd better get it before we announce the pg - wouldn't want anyone thinking we were spending the baby bonus on a tele!!!

Jo...my DH so wanted to spend the baby bonus on a plasma...alas...it went on a new washing machine and dryer (as well as Ob fees and nursery furniture)!!!

Well done on your purchase of a home...will you have moved in by the time your little one arrives?

I have to say that I'm looking forward to being in the 3rd trimester. I just hope I feel as good then as I do now. I find it hard to believe the difference in the way I feel from the 1st to the 2nd tri's. Its an amazing journey thats for sure even with all the hurdles we may face during these times.
Dh is a little concerned about the labor. He told me a couple of nights ago that he's quite nervous as he really doesn't like seeing me in pain. He doesn't like the fact that he can't take that away but I told him that it would be ok and we'd help each other cope.I'm sure he'll get alot out of the antenatal classes too.

Well I have been feeling so exhausted the last few days, mostly because I'm not sleeping because bub is kicking so much at night which of course I'm glad because I know she's ok but it's like I just need some sleep already.
It's also hard getting comfy in bed & at only 25 weeks I'm wondering how the hell will I sleep when I'm huge.

That along with being manager while my boss is away is becoming quite an effort so I have finally decided that tomorrow will be my last Friday so from now on I will work the 4 days a week & have a long weekend every weekend which I didn't want to admit I couldn't do it but I have to finally admit defeat.

Reflux is really getting me down as well but I still just don't know if I should take the prescription or not.
Sorry girls just needed a whinge.

On a much brighter note I received all my paperwork from the hospital yesterday about antenatel classes.etc. so that got me quite excited & it was another reminder that yes I am actually pg, even at 25 wks it's still hard to believe.

I also booked a 2 night get away for in about 5 wks so dh & I can have a little relaxing time before the bub comes so I'm counting down the days for that.

Hey girls, scan went well, due date confirmed 19 Feb so no change….. Doctor said it looks like a really healthy baby, neural fold was 1.3 mm all normal… Now we just wait for BT results and he will be able to confirm any problems on Monday latest Tuesday.
DH was very emotional and is now very real for him, it was nice seeing that smile on DH.

DJTC, 25 weeks, ohh hun so exciting, hope the 5 weeks come soon enough.
Mako you too babe, 26 weeks, so looking forward to be in your pants girls…..

Ltl Panda I'm so happy that all went well today at your scan. Its such a great feeling knowing that the baby growing inside you is doing so well. The scans sure do make it all the more real for our dh's.

Jo I'm sorry that you are still feeling crappy. Maybe you should give the prescription a try and see how you go. Maybe do what I do and take half the dose and see if that helps you a little. I"m pleased that you are cutting back to 4 days a week at work too. I don't think I'd be able to work full time now either if I had to. Its bad enough working the amount I am atm.We are trying to find another teacher atm to do Saturdays and then my lessons while I'm on mat leave.

Monnie Please let us know how your appointment goes tonight. I'm dying to know if Ziggy has moved at all.

Not much to report here. I'm not feeling the best today. I threw up at work this afternoon when a child did something really discusting in the pool. She is definately old enough to know better(at school). Anyway thats my gripe for the day. Sorry.

On the bright side, there's a cyclone approaching Hong Kong, so everyone is going home for the afternoon - no more work for me today (I work from home for a HK-based company). Hooray for me! Though now I have no ready excuses for not doing all the things I've been putting off.

I guess because they really explained the process of birth. He's also found the Birthskills book really helpful...especially when they talk about the pain as 'healthy pain...it's just a muscle working'...

As for me, still haven't had Ob. appointment yet...he's running late so probably won't get in to see him until 7pm-ish! Was having lots of tightenings last night...but today it's all settled down again...went to a Bellybelly get together today...met Sushee in the flesh! She's wonderful!!! Also met Danni (another LT-er!)...fantastic! Then went and had a facial...which was lovely...though lying on my back doesn't feel very comfortable!!!

Will let you know how I go at Ob's...most of my belly buddy group have either had their babies or being induced in the next few days...I may end up being a group of 1!!!

Just got back from Ob.

No change in Ziggy! He/she is very much enjoying his/her current housing arrangements at the moment...still sitting really high and posterior!

Oh well...Ziggy will come when he/she is ready, I guess!

Ob. says that Ziggy is looking good...has lost his/her vernix and is looking quite mature...

He said that I might have a 'stuttering start to labour'...so we'll just have to see...

Anyway...good news is that Ziggy is looking healthy and happy...just a little too comfortable!

Monnie - fantastic news that ziggy is looking healthy & bub is obviously lying back & enjoying life atm.
Why is it that we are always in a rush to meet them but not the other way round, lol.
So what does a stuttering start to labour mean?

My specialist only attends birth at Murdoch so hopefully that is nice, we haven't been there yet for a look around.
If I have an elective ceaser he does that at Attadale but i'm not too keen on a ceaser, actually not to keen about any options for the birthing process, lol!!!

I have a cute story about my dh!
He does this thing every night when he comes home from work he'll go into bub's room & see what new things I have bought & he acts all horrified if I've bought anything new, even though I know he's just putting it on.
Anyway he said last night when are you going to put that dress in the babies room (another story) & he was being a bit strange so I thought what is in there?
I go in & there is a seseame street book with textas & stickers that he had bought for her.
It was just so sweet I wanted to cry & I know it's only a book but it was just the thought & it's the first thing he has actually bought on his own!

Jo Thats so sweet of your dh. I'm sure it won't be the last thing he buys your little girl. My dh also makes a fuss when I buy anything for our bub too. Must be a dad thing lol.
I'm also hearing you on the birth options lol. I look at it this way, the baby has to come out one way or another and I really don't mind either way lol. I'm trying not to think about it too much atm.

I'm feeling better today thank goodness. No more little suprises in the pool today lol. I am however suffering from swollen hands and I have "cankles". My dh pointed them out last night. My feet were feeling a little swollen but I thought I was imagining it but NO sure enough my ankles have dissappeared :cry: They seem to be worse in the afternoon and my rings feel quite tight too. Has anyone else had this happen???? Should I be concerned???

You're more than welcome BG. It is only natural to try and not feel too excited etc at this point in time although it sure is tough controlling your feelings too. Just go with however you feel best and all will work out just fine.

i could probably ring the clinic and ask to change the BT based on the HPT - and i might, but i'm wondering if it's really worth it to be late to work and all that jazz just to have the answers a few days earlier...

quick question - anyone notice any dizziness in the first few weeks - i've been sitting on the couch and have had three really light headed eps in the last hour or so without even moving....

Mako...cankles! I know them well! Try and keep your feet up as much as possible and see if DH can massage your feet, gently massaging from the ankles up your calves...has helped me!

Thanks for the advice Monnie. I will hit dh up for a foot massage when he gets home later today. He's been away with our dog and his dad and his dog. Would have been interesting as the 2 dogs had to share the back seat and I heard that ours wasn't too impressed lol. He'd better get used to it once bub arrives lol.

BG I also had dizzy spells early on. I think they lasted for the 1st 8 or 10 weeks from memory. Just take it easy and rest when you need to hun. I'll be hanging out for Thursday even though I know all will be ok ;)

Ltl Panda It sure is amazing what a difference a scan can make to our lives. I understand how much more real it all seems for you and your dh now.

I have another ob appointment on Wednesday so I'll make sure I talk to her about the ankles and hands. I really don't think they can do to much for it but I will let her know thats for sure.
My MIL and I have been very busy this morning cleaning out the shelves in the wardrobe in bubs room. Its amazing how much junk you can collect over the years. I thought its about time we start to try and get the room organised as its early next month that all of our laybyes are due out for bubs furniture and I'm worried we'll have no room to put it.
