20 week scan

Well we have made it this far but I'm absolutely terrified of our scan on Wednesday, I think it's made worse as my first mc was a missed mc. I have all the tell tale signs of pregnancy - growing belly, continuing morning sickness but there is still a nagging feeling at the back of my head that won't go away. I had a scan at 14 weeks which showed a healthy baby so I'm hoping it's still swimming around in there. Has anyone else had similar fears?

Hun, I stress before any scan I go to so it's pretty normal! The 20 week scan is pretty major so I tend to stress extra with that one if it makes you feel any better. GL next Wednesday hun, I'm sure all will go well! Plus you get to see some awesome pics of your little bub xox

I've had tests, scans, morning sickness and my growing belly all tell me i'm having a baby but i just can't bring myself to believe it sometimes. I was very anxious leading up to my 12 week scan that there wouldn't be anything on the screen or that before the scan the baby would die or i would be told it had died weeks earlier.

Now that i'm coming up to 15 weeks the fears and worry about my 20 week scan are coming. I just have a feeling that something will happen and it petrifies me

I know i won't relax until i am holding my baby in my arms.

I think its very natural after going through what we did

We had a scan today and there it was in all it's glory moving around with a great heartbeat of 147bpm, hopefully now I can relax a little and begin to enjoy this pregnancy like a 'normal' person

I'm glad to hear everything went well. This is me atm!.scan is in less than 3weeks n im starting to feel anxious. I had a scan at 8weeks n there was a little hb n a blob lol n ive felt bub a couple times this week...but im still really scared that it can end any time :s

This is me too. My scan is this thursday and silently crapping myself! I feel the baby move but i expect to be told that something wrong

I have to say that after 4 miscarriages (and 2 ER trips with the last pregnancy for threatened miscarriage) I NEVER felt comfortable going to a scan, even after I could feel the baby moving around. The only time I enjoyed my pregnancy were the few hours after each scan before I started thinking about all the things that could go wrong again. I can not describe for you the feeling of relief i felt when they finally placed that baby in my arms. I hope you can relax a bit after your 20 week scan because you should but it will depend on the type of person you are and, if you are a worrier, the stress might not end until your baby is with you. So make the most of that sense of relief you get after your scans or visits to the OB.
