Unhappy 2nd miscarriage immediately after 1st miscarriage

Here is my story. Just hoping for some comments on similar experiences.

I fell pregnant the 2nd attempt at trying and had a complete miscarriage at 5 weeks. We decided to start trying again straight away, but not really expecting much. Needless to say I fell pregnant immediately after. I again miscarried, this time at 6 weeks. I discovered the 2nd pregnancy because I was taking antibiotics for a terrible sinus infection (sick for 2 weeks) and thought I'd better just check part way through my second dose of antibiotics. I also had thrush with both pregnancy's (only had it once several months before preg's). I'm 28 (as is my hubby) and otherwise in good health. I'm worried that I might not be able to carry a baby to full term and hoping it's just that my body was under stress after the first preg and being sick. Any thoughts or similar experiences? This time we plan to wait 2 - 3 months just in case.

i'm sorry to hear of your loss.

i just wrote a whole page and deleted it, because i realise nothing i write will make you feel any better. All i can say is i know how you feel.

I'm sure when youre body is ready, you'll have a healthy pregnancy.

Until then, remember to take your folate (i'm hopeless and always forget!)

    best wishes

Let me firstly say how sorry I am for your loss.
As someone who has had three consecutive m/c I would strongly suggest you see your Doc for some simple blood tests to rule out any hidden reason as to why you have m/c twice in a row. My Obs kept telling me it was my old eggs (36) but after my third M/c they discovered I have two blood disorders that predispose me to M/C and must take daily clexane injections.
    Best of luck
    xx

I'm sorry for your loss. I wouldn't run off to the docs just yet. Most doctors wont start tests until you've had 3 losses in a row. I guess that shows how common it is to have a couple. Two losses is considered fairly normal, 3 not.

Sometimes they do find something wrong, but many cases they do not & a successful pregnancy comes along with no medical assistance. I spent quite a bit of money on trying to work out what was causing mine but in the end they found nothing wrong & I carried the next pregnancy to term with no assistance whatsoever.

Ava - sorry to hear about your 2nd loss - just heart braking I'm sure.

I have heard it take the body a few months to recover after pregnancy and grow back the lining that might have been lost with the miscarriage. Apparently this is needed so the bub has something to stick too so to speak.

Maybe purposefully wait a few months this time before trying again. DH and I stopped trying after my first until I was emotionally ready to try again. For us it took another 11 mths to fall again (DH has sleepy sperm) but now we are 18wks pregnant.

    Hope this helps

I'm so sorry for you loss. I really feel for you.
In regards to waiting a couple of months or not, do whatever feels right for you so you can feel hopeful about being pregnant again.
My gp was very happy to run tests after my second mc, however apparently you have to wait a couple of months after the mc because you can still have a false positve and lots of hormones, etc.
