    First ultrasound after stillbirth

I know everyone here would most likely already know about this but my turn to post!

Today we had our first ultrasound after the loss of Ianto

Whilst we wanted the ultrasound for dating and timeline purposes to give to the hospital, there is also the point that we personally need the reassurance that things are going as well as we need them to!

Anyway... We get to the clinic and after a little confusion that was fairly quickly sorted out, we were seen to quickly and had a fairly chatty and my favorite "explainey" ultrasound tech!

He explained how the measurements work and why they do them! and of course the most important thing for both of us... He showed the heart beat.

For most of the time I was fighting back the waterworks, and when he showed the wave pattern for the heartbeat (even though all I could see from my vantage point were fairly straight lines) the tears seemed to fight back!

Just thought I'd let you know.

Thats wonderful! So happy for the both of you

And i find the male techs to be so much more informative and explain in detail what they are doing.

Wishing you both all the best xx

"A little confusion"? You call the idiot receptionist almost sending us to a regular doctor instead of the radiologist a "little" confusion? I would have smacked that girl if I hadn't been so anxious and barely able to speak!

Ahem. Sorry, she just really peed me off

Aaanyway, yeah, that radiologist/tech guy was fantastic! I was pooing my pants until he said there was a heartbeat, of course, and he was careful to say that since we're early days things can still go wrong (thanks, guy...) but he was great

I the tech dude! (but not as much as Cookie and Scotty )

It must have been pretty anxious and emotional for both of you.
Let's put it this way - Scott had to grab my hand and wrestle it away from my other hand because I didn't even realise I was starting to scrape away skin while fidgeting in the waiting area

That is such fantastic news, it is so scary having that first ultrasound. So glad the Tech explained everything to you.

    First ultrasound after stillbirth

We did have the idea to wait for the 12 week one, but Teni was starting to get a bit worried so we went and booked this one in.

The best thing is... Anytime from Thursday afternoon, we can go and get a cd with pictures on it! He said they don't do the normal still print out because those are normally on heat treat paper, which goes brown and drowns out the picture if your not careful.

Can't wait to see cookie @ 12 weeks and can't wait to hear the words "if you bring in a blank DVD, we can record the session to it if you like" or something similar!

Pixie - most of the things like my ticker and signature were done by Teni, so she holds the credit on those, to be honest I haven't even looked at them myself, and now I get to use "tapatalk" I don't even get to see them at all!
