In need of advise please :)

I have currently had 2 miscarriages and we are trying again. I am going back to my doctors at the end of this month and was wondering if anyone can give me some advise on what to ask or if i should try and get more tests done. The doc told me they wont do anything till my 3rd miscarriage which really sucks so i thought maybe if i ask for certain tests they have to do them hopefully.
It is so hard to think positive but i know i need to, so this is going to help me get through whatever they throw at me.
Thanks for listening. Good luck to everyone

    Hi My Angels,

I am only new to this site and by no means an expert but have heard that maybe you could get your progesterone levels checked and if you are found to be low your doctor can prescribe you with a cream or suppository to use from about day 15 of your cycle. From what I have read it is the progesterone that helps build a healthy lining and keeps your bub in place.

You can purchase the cream over the counter from various health food stores (I think) but it is probably best to get checked and have your doctor involved from the start. Also I am planning on getting early scans with this pregnancy so I can (hopefully) see the heartbeat early and try to relax.

    Good luck!!

    Hey HUn

Yeah it sucks that they wait for 3 losses like this before they will do any tests. There isn't much you can do except to keep everything crossed you will not make that third MC and need testing. Testing, majority of the time, reveals absolutely nothing anyway so you may never have answers as to why this has happened.

I have had 1 mc followed by an extreme prem birth (which we lost) and another 1 MC before we finally had our DD.

All I can say is there is hope and you just need to keep positive. You will hold a baby in your arms one day, and believe me when I say that when that day comes - its amazing

thyroid - I was found to have underactive thyroid after my last m/c. Not enough to stop me ovulating, but my hormones weren't enough to sustain a pg.
    Good luck!

    Hi Myangels,

I have also had 2 m/c and am now about week 3 into my 3rd pregnancy. I am 100% sure I am pregnant considering the size of my tummy!! (like a balloon!! - very unusual for me, it's normally flat!!) but I am yet to have a BFP. (Hopefully soon.)

During my second m/c I went to hospital and they thought they discovered my uterus as a funny shape which would effect my chances of a full pregnancy, but after going to see a specialist Gyno, then being referred for a 3D ultrasound, I was advised it is in fact normal. At that, my Gyno said they don't do any more tests until after 3 as m/c really is so common.

It's so painful/frustrating/annoying, thinking you have to get pregnant again, and go through all that again just to find it still doesn't work out, so I feel your pain.

I'm hoping this one works out for me otherwise it's back to the specialist. But, I'm trying to think positive.

    Good luck

I had a M/C May09. The reason turned out to be an auto-immune disease of thyroid where just the TSH gets a bit elevated. My cousin is a doctor overseas and he recommended the Antibody test and that's when I found out I had a problem which might cause problems in staying PG.

Hope all goes well for u. GL.
