I'm really glad to find this little network and hope to make a few friends along the way.
I'm 27 and recently experienced a miscarriage (this was my first pregnancy). I had been expecting my first cycle since the D&C but instead found out I'm pregnant!
This is wonderful news but I am a little nervous this time around and am keeping the news quiet from family and close friends until I know that things are going smoothly.
I haven't had any pregnancy symptoms which has me a little worried, except for being extremely tired which was what made me think to get tested. My miscarriage was a blighted ovum (the baby never developed) so I went on for 15 weeks without hardly any symptoms and without knowing that I had actually miscarried at about 10 weeks.
I estimate that I am about two to four weeks along this time... it is all very new.
I am just reaching out to talk to someone because at the moment I haven't been able to share this with anyone except my partner. I am super excited... but expect that I may miscarry again, which was physically and emotionally a little rough.
congrats on your pregnancy. very exciting times. i really hope this one sticks for you and you have a happy and healthy pregnancy. it all gets a bit stressful once you have had a miscarriage but i hope you can get a scan very soon and put your mind at ease. this is a great site with a wonderful bunch of girls. i so remember finding out and then the long wait to get to 12 weeks - felt like it took forever and now i'm over half way. try to enjoy the journey. it all goes so fast when you start looking back.
I have been on the younger members group on this site but havn't posted anywhere else yet. I also had a blighted ovum which was diagnosed at 9 weeks and I decided to naturally miscarry which happened at 12 weeks. I have since had a period on th 11th Nov and we are now TTC. I can understand how you feel completely as I am already riddled with anxiety that 1 we may not get pregnant and 2 if I do it might happen again. The whole ordeal is so emotionally and physically straining. Congratulations on your pregnancy and the only advice I can offer is to stay positive. I have looked it up on many sites and most women have had completely normal healthy pregnancy after a blighted ovum. Hang in there and try not to make yourself sick with worry. I will definatly be getting an early scan next time just to put my mind at ease.
Just an update... unfortunately this little one got away too.
Does anyone have any experience with repeat miscarriages? In particular, I was wondering whether or not experiencing a cycle first (after mc / d&c) might make any difference. I know for one of my close friends it didn't. Personally I feel that I may need to experience a natural cycle so that my body get its groove back because both times I fell pregnant very quickly before I could have a proper cycle (the first time after going off the pill, the second after my miscarriage).
I was also wondering.. has anyone miscarried after being on the pill for a number of years? I have heard lots of stories of people falling pregnant on the pill and know a lot of people personally in this boat, no probs. But I was wondering if anyone who has had a miscarriage was on the pill for a long time prior to that?
