    Second Miscarriage in a Row

Just an update... unfortunately this little one got away too.

Does anyone have any experience with repeat miscarriages? In particular, I was wondering whether or not experiencing a cycle first (after mc / d&c) might make any difference. I know for one of my close friends it didn't. Personally I feel that I may need to experience a natural cycle so that my body get its groove back because both times I fell pregnant very quickly before I could have a proper cycle (the first time after going off the pill, the second after my miscarriage).

I was also wondering.. has anyone miscarried after being on the pill for a number of years? I have heard lots of stories of people falling pregnant on the pill and know a lot of people personally in this boat, no probs. But I was wondering if anyone who has had a miscarriage was on the pill for a long time prior to that?

    Thanks!

Amethyst I'm so sorry to hear of both your losses I don't have a history of repeat miscarriages, but found myself asking similar questions after our loss.

I had a missed miscarriage and D&C in Jan 08, and my ob recommended we wait for 2 cycles before ttc again. I was lucky that my cycles started up again like clockwork, but didn't start to ttc for a long time after that due to my own emotional reasons. However I have heard/read of many ladies who ttc straight away after a m/c or D&C, some successful and some unsuccessful.

The first time I fell pregnant, I had literally just stopped the pill and fell our first try, but sadly didn't progress past 10ish weeks. I had only been on the pill for just over a year though. Whilst no medical professionals have said so, several of the women in my family believe that a women should always wait a few months to ttc after coming off the pill, to let their body get into it's own groove.

It's is so hard to know what to do, but I hope you are holding a bubba in your arms soon.
