I'm having the extreme hunger thing too but not much else. Boobs aren't sore anymore but I'm getting occassional heartburn. Next scan is in a week - feels like an eternity!
Oh no Minnie ~ :hug: thinking of you hun, that's just truly unfair and life can be cruel - but please dont give up hun. I know its hard, just that ive got a few friends that have had 3 or more miscarriages and have still got there in the end. Take care sweets and try to enjoy life and freedom for a while perhaps xo.
DG ~ CONGRATULATIONS to you and I hope you have a long and boring stay in here.

Saturday is only a few days away but I know what you mean re dragging cos my weekend just couldnt go quick enough!
I still am starving every 2 hours but I cant over eat or else I feel sick :dunno: LOL Apart from that a little tired and thats about it.
I hear ya on the weight gain, my pants are soon going to need the maternity elastic or something BOO! hahahaha All for a great cause ;)

Thanks Mia and Mich, I went to the Drs today and did a urine test which resulted in a very dark positive, so Im still pg which is great. I was then asked to do some blood tests but I said I didnt want to because Ive BTDT before, had great results and yet still m/cd anyway. My Dr was great and really understanding, so when I asked for a referral for an u/s he didnt hesitate to give me one. I'll have the u/s in 2/3 weeks (at around 8 weeks) and when I can summon up the courage to face it.
I started preparing myself for bad news in the waiting room today and that made me realise Im already attached to this pg, even though Ive tried not to be. Im just glad I got through today alright.
DG - being attached to this pg is good for your baby, for however long it is growing with you. And my fingers are crossed for 40 weeks. Heck, maybe even 41 :D I made the same choice as you on BTs, and I haven't regretted it. My Dr was so supportive of it, she has been amazing. So glad that you have a good one too. :hug:
We're staying home this Easter, very unlike us, we're adventurers at heart! But I've been so sick that I just wanted time to chill out. So DH is home all weekend, doing housework and looking after the baby (probably time to start calling her a toddler soon?) and I feel.... fine. Frustration... fear.... Man, I just wanna go back to spewing. Aaaargh! So conflicted!
DG - I'm so happy for you dark positive! And it's great that your doc is so supportive of not doing blood tests, they can definitely cause more stress that good sometimes. Your growing baby doesn't know or care if you know it's hcg levels ;)
Audax - so has your morning sickness gone? I understand the conflicted feeling of not wanting to feel sick but wanting the reassurance that something's happening in there!

I had my 8 week scan this morning and much to my shock, everything looks good!!!! Phew. I barely slept last night. Baby is 17mm so measuring 8 weeks 1 day. It is now one day ahead instead of 2 days behind :) Heart rate is 164. I will try my best to stop stressing about having barely any symptoms and not feeling pregnant. Last week I felt somewhat sensitive about what I felt like eating (no meat, nothing tomato-ey etc) but that's completely gone now and so have the sore boobs! Maybe I'm just lucky??
Mich what awesome news!!!! Congrats and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy :D.

AFM - have my first OB appointment on Tuesday, excited but not sure how it will go. I guess if I dont like him I can look for another one.
Feeling ok, at times feel a little sick but havent thrown up, then it goes away. All good though ;) hopefully will go away in 3 weeks

Mia- I'm seeing the ob on Wednesday! You'll have to let me know how Tuesday goes, I have no idea what a first ob appointment involves. I hope you like him. I already know the ob I'm seeing quite well because he's a gynae too and I saw him for fertility and he did my laparoscopy (before I got to difficult and he referred me on - ha ha)
I hope the Easter bunny brought you all yummy treats!
Fab news Mich! My ms comes and goes. I think it has peaked,which worries me because that's what happened with my first pg, whereas with DD it kept getting worse up to 13 weeks then tapered off really quickly.
DH told SIL today. I didnt want to, but there you go. I'll just have to tolerate her. Again.

Audax - Its hard not to worry when you've had a loss before. I can tell you that I had terrible, unrelenting m/s with my last pg (vomiting several times a day) right upto the day of my D&C at 12.5w (and boy was I bitter). They do say that every pg is different, so try to keep that in mind. Can you get a scan to put your mind at ease? I can also undertand why you didnt want to tell your SIL (hugs).
Well here I am again :) Didnt think it would be yet but the man upstairs obviously has a plan for this little being that we have created

Audax - I completely understand the worry you describe as symptoms come and go. I have moments every single day when I think it's all over. When will this stop? Do you have your next scan booked?

AFM - I'm having some sharp twinge like feelings. I hope it's normal!!
im not sure yet Mich i go for my 2nd blood test on thurs to see how the levels are rising then book a dating scan

I had my first OB appointment this evening and he was good, nice and straight to the point. I didnt get much of a chance to ask too much (cos I had baby brain) but he has a midwife there before you go in to do your weight and bood pressure and to answer any questions possible which was good. She suggested sea sickness bands and ginger tabs for my nausea as I have been having it on and off all day for the last 4 days. I havent been throwing up but just feel nauseas like I'm going too and it lasts for about 2-3 hours then goes and comes back etc
I'm not complaining at all but I just wanted to know what I can do to help it a little.
The OB actually did another U/S in the office (over my tummy too not internal YAY!) and he measured the baby 2 days earlier then the other u/s tech so I'm 8wks 5 days which is still one day ahead of what I originally thought. All was good and his/her little heartbeat was going strong.
He gave me all the checks I need to organise, another b/t, and the 12 week scan plus I have to call the hospital to organise everything. A few things to do but all good.
Felt like I was in and out in 2 mins but the OB is a professor and know exactly what to do and say and gives you all the info basically in a breathe LOL
He was nice though. I see him again in 4 weeks.

Hope everyone is doing well, so quiet in here!
I had bad morning sickness yesterday from about 1pm until I woke up this morning, for me I'm renaming it to afternoon sickness cos I'm fine in the morning its the early afternoon where this little one is actively making me sick LOL I have bought the sea sickness bands so have them on already and plan to take the ginger tabs at about 12 noon to see if that helps today! :pray: I dont feel like yesterday it was SO hard doing the commute home (2 hours) in the car feeling crap! Have the bucket next to me today incase though....

Mia- sorry the 'afternoon' sickness has finally hit you! But glad your ob appt went well :)
When do you see him again? I saw my ob yesterday. Had another scan on a much better machine and all looked fine. He's very cautious though which I like! Considering my past m/cs, early bleeding and low progesterone this preg, he wants to check things again in 2 weeks. And he's keeping me on the huge dose of progesterone. Zero preg symptoms to report here. I guess if they haven't happened by now they probably won't?

Mia - Glad to hear your scan went well! Yay for seeing your OB and of course your little bean again. That would have been exciting. So m/s has come to visit you? I find eating lots of small meals does take the edge of m/s when it is at its early stages. Hopefully this is as bad as it gets for you.
Mich - Glad to hear your scan went well too. Try not to worry about the lack of symptoms, because the u/s scans are all that matter, and these are showing a healthy baby. As I said above, I have had pg's with terrible m/s and that certainly didnt stop me from m/cing. I think its a myth that m/s means a healthy pg, well for you and me perhaps.
AFM - M/s is here well and truly. I had my first vomit yesterday (after a couple of days of just nausea) so Im not sure how bad its going to get. I feel incredibly ripped off that I have to endure yet more m/s and no guarantee of a baby at the end. Scan still 1.5 weeks away, which is great because Im trying to keep it out of my mind. Pg after many m/c is not easy.

Sorry I've been MIA - HUGE morning sickness happening in this household... Both DH and myself have been sick as and my word it is taking its toll.... Very sweet that DH has been sick and having cravings lol... I cant shake the 'yuk' feeling, its all day everyday just like DD so I guess it will be like this until around 30 weeks like DD... Hoping not, but am so not complaining, I'm pregnant still and am trying not to stress...
I go in for my firs scan next saturday, its a bit later than most do, but i NEED to see a heart beat to eases my mind, this is my 4th pregnancy in 4 years and I only have 1 earthside baby, so I am hoping this one will make #2...
MIA: FYI I take the blackmoores morning sickness tablets, with ginger in them everyday 3 times a day and I do find they made a slight difference for me... I know other women that say it has no effect on them, whether its more mind over matter, i dont care what ever little relief I can get I will take....

HPL - Sounds like a few of us are sick atm. Good luck for your first scan next Saturday. I like, like you have more angels than earthside babies, so I know how stressful it is.
Ok so I need to post because Im sitting here in tears. I cant help thinking something has happened and this pg wont progress beyond the first trimester (Im only 6w3d btw). You might think Im overreacting, but Im not, Im well and truly scared. I just dont feel the same as I did at 6w with my earthside boys. It feels different, just like every m/c. I cant explain it, but the feeling is definately here and I dont want it to be. How on earth can I schedule my scan now. I dont want to hear 'Im sorry' again. Im a mess :crying:

I know it doesn't really help, but this pregnancy was also very very different from my take home DD1. I hope you are experiencing a different but healthy pregnancy. Hang in there til the scan xoxo.
Thankyou for your reassurance M. I really appreciate it. I never panicked like this in any of my other p/gs. Maybe its a form of post-traumatic stress showing itself?
Definitely possible. I just got diagnosed with AND... almost certainly because of the path it took to get here, and it's not over yet. It is really hard... really hard, and I think we need to pat ourselves on the back for getting through day by day.:
It's so hard for the rational mind to come forward and say "all pregnancies are different and until things are proven I will assume all is well" because our past experiences are screaming at us much louder.
Do whatever helps you. If it's moving the scan forward, do it. Or a relaxing bath, a walk, a distracting hobby.

M - I know you have had a tough journey to get to where you are now. :hug: If only there was a way to switch those feelings off, but there isnt and I guess we just have to deal with them.
I will see how I feel in the morning. I hope this panic has well and truly subsided by then.
Diamond girl - I'm so sorry you're struggling right now. Everthing you feel is completely normal considering the hell you've been through. In fact, I think it would be abnormal if you were completely relaxed and confident! I don't have any advice on how to relax or stop feeling that way. I've seen the heartbeat 3 times with this pregnancy and despite that, I'm convinced it's all over nearly every day! Would a scan sooner make you feel any better? The first trimester is going to be a really long, hard road but we'll be here when you need to vent your fears :hug:
Maruschke - you always have such great advice :) Are you feeling less stressed about your preg at this stage? Do you feel more connected now you know the sex and your scans went well?
HPL - 30 weeks of feeling sick with DD!!? :o I'll take some of that sickness for you. I've put on 2.5 kg already from being hungry all the time - I think I really need to feel sick to stop this!!! Ooh, wouldn't it be exciting if this is babies numbers 2 and 3 for you!!! Ha ha
Loops - you are sooooo close to the end. You must be very excited. I'm sure once you hold your baby in your arms, everything you've been through will be completely worth it. So happy for you :)

Thankyou Mich. I appreciate your kind words. This morning Im still feeling really nervous about it all. I just have nothing to reassure me. Not even a scan would do that. Its just an opportunity for bad news. During my previous pg I had weekly OB visits, my last visit was at 11w and I had a scan in his office. Everything was fine, baby was moving and waving its little arms and this was the fourth time I saw the h/b. Then I went for my NT scan one week later without a care in the world, we took our boys to show them their baby brother or sister for the first time (they were so excited), but the image on the screen was a perfectly formed, perfectly still baby on the screen, and of course no h/b. We were told the h/b had stopped less than 3 days before the NT scan. I still had raging m/s. So its obvious that my body doesnt know how to tell me its over. It just keeps on pretending its pg until I have a D&C, of which Ive had 3 in 12 months. Ok, time to stop feeling sorry for myself and get on with it. I just have to ride this first trimester out.
