gah! another double post!!!
V21 I have regular chiropractor and massage visits I work at a desk for about half the day which combined with clingy DS means I have similar pain pg or not. Hope today is better.were you early with your other pg? I went on the dot last time think I want to work till 36 weeks. Not sure I've worked out the affording baby either semi plan then wing it. I'm sure I can go back early if needed. How long will you have off?
at the moment i feel like most of my weight gain is my boobs !
still scared and waiting for the 12w scan. i have thought about getting a doppler from ebay, not expensive around $20 but not sure if it will be any good or more stress.
very early night for me. how are you all sleeping?
grrr double
No news yet from the Mrs?
Cheshire - so happy it was all good news!
Kbudgie - fingers crossed time will fly. Hope you have lots to keep busy till you're due for your scan! Not long now and I hope you're tiredness will be easing!
AFM - I had 2 days of work and it was so nice! I was very busy yesterday, doing shopping etc and visiting my new nephew again, so tiny at 2 days old. Today I enjoyed a nice book in the sun, did some crafting, walked the dog in the sun, and did some cleaning up as well :) Now it's back to work tomorrow and on Saturday as well. I hadn't been sleeping very well, but last night I got a good night's sleep for a change. So today I was feeling heaps better. Counting down days to my next ob appointment. I haven't felt bub yet, so I'm starting to get a bit anxious. Hopefully it's just because I have the placenta at the front?! The problem is that I don't know exactly what it should feel like and whereabouts it should be. Fingers crossed Monday will bring us good news.
KBudgie - my sleeping has been rubbish all pregnancy. I keep waking up at random times and can get back to sleep for ages. Still waking up feeling ok the last few days which is helping.
Me4- its very normal not to feel bub move until 20ish + weeks, especially with first bub and anterior placenta. Early movements feel like bubbles popping inside your belly or butterflies tickling he inside of your tummy. As bub gets stronger it feels like gas bubbles and gradually gets stronger and becomes more obvious its the baby.
hope you're ok The Mrs
MMMMMMM bad news on the car front..its going to cost me $1000.00 :o and i wont have it for a month!!!!!!!!!! im not sure if i have pre natal (is that was its called) depression...i have lots going on at the moment..very stressful...and im not sure if its just everything going on and the hormones or if its something more...?????????
Cheshire...so glad everythings ok
V21..maybe you should go and get a massage
Kbudgie....i am the same...think im going into an F :o hope everything goes well at you're scan...i was just recently going to borrow a doppler from my friend..but heard the HB at the scan last week......i checked out the internet about them...the only thing i thought was maybe it would cause me more stress..especially if i couldnt find the hb and was just in the wrong spot...but then i have heard that once you know what you're doing and hear the HB it can relax you...
Me4ever.....i havent felt the baby much either and this is my 3rd baby and they say you feel it earlier...i keep thinking i feel her but i am not sure...with DD's i felt the first one after 20 weeks and the second i think about 19 weeks...and this one i think i feel her on and off but not 100./.
Kbudgie - I don't think dopplers work well until 18 weeks, I know I would stress myself obsessing if I had one...
Melstar- go and talk to your GP, he/she will know if its hormones, something more or anything they can do. Stress sucks, I've had severe stress and anxiety disorders in the past now first tingle I talk to my doc, it helps letting it all out. $1000 not fair if they already fixed it? Warranty?? You can call racq (or your states equivalent) and they make company fix for free or discount if it should have lasted longer. (My hubby a mechanic)
I'm telling myself I'm bigger and that I feel movement, its working for now even if its crap.
Horrid morning, miss 6 decided to talk about every animal we have ever owned that has died. Then I caught her with lollies she snuck from home and she cried which made me cry... Hopefully the long drive to pub lunch is worth it to distract me.
i think it might be out side influences and hormones..as in i dont cry everyday, dont feel hopeless, dont feel down on myself or anything like that...but with all the things going on and the outside influences im extremely stressed, and extremely hormonal and angry....things just keep piling on top and there are no quick fixes or easy solutions to get rid of them..just feel stuck and sick of feeling this way..
The place were i got my breaks fixed a month ago are not accepting liabilty. They said its not them. So i went through my insurance and they towed it to another company...they can fix the panel but my insurance wont cover any mechanical problems or wear and tear...so then i had to take it to the mechanics.....they need to get the part in from tokyo..the break cilinder has crapped itself (dont know too much about cars) and this is a place were my brother knows well.....and he doesnt think its anything with them doing my breaks but wear and tear....:wall:
Hope youre day gets better
Im stuck at work and its doing my head in
Hi everyone! So lovely to hear everyone seems to be progressing well (despite all the usual pregnancy worries and pains and symptoms etc etc!)
I have now passed my 12+5 milestone where I lost my bub last time. It's been a stressful week but now I feel happy that I've passed it/ No guarantee of course but it feels good. I'm 13 weeks- hooray!
Kbudgie I have a doppler and check in every day just to check the HB is still there (this is more than is recommended but I find it very easy to find- less that 10 seconds and then I only listen for a few seconds and then put it away until the next day). I could find it easily from about 10 weeks.once you;ve found it a couple of times you know exactly where to look. I find for me it helps rather than stresses me out but everyone is different. i had my 12 weeek scan at 12+1, and so wouldn't have known if I have passed my milestone of 12+5 until my next ob appointment (3 weeks away) , whereas with the doppler I know confidently that the baby is still alive and I have passed my milestone. I hired one with first 2 pregnancies but now have bought my own. It's a very personal choice though!
Melster- so glad to hear you weren't hurt from your dodgy brakes, such a horrible situation!
Me4ever- sounds like you're doing well! Don;t stress about the movements, depends on so many things and it's very common not to feel until after 20 weeks. Chances are you have felt them but thought they were gas! hehehe
Is anyone finding out sex???? You guys are all getting so close now to that. I will be away from 17-21 weeks so they will do an early semi anatomy scan before I go so I'm really hoping to find out sex early!! Can't wait to start shopping...Also not sure where we will put this baby- tiny house! Will need a big reshuffle to make room. I think half my clothes will have to go as thee is nowhere to ut an extra chest of drawers for baby stuff!
Anyway- sorry for not enough persies- am thinking of you all! Take care x
double post!!
Melster- External stressors can impact significantly on antenatal depression. If worried at all, might I suggest bringing it up at your next ob appointment or booking an extra one? S/he will get you to fill in the questionaire (you need to do so honestly) and then chat about your answers and if need be, where to go from there. There are some great counseling places and courses you can do to get things back on track and keep it there. You are awesome for being open to the idea that you may have a problem and that you were able to share that concern :)
TheMrs- I'm worried about your silence :(
Me4- I'm not sure if BB are receiving my emails since I haven't received a reply and your avvy isn't up yet.
Lyra- Congrats on passing that milestone.
Butchers- Don't kids just come up with the greatest conversations? Lol.
Everyone else- I am reading, just have very little memory sorry :(
AFM I think DS2 had a bad reaction to the chickenpox vax. He was in a bed full of vomit last night when I went to cover him :/ He also had blood tests done . Might not be the pox though as a friend gave him a doughnut yesterday and it may have contained dairy. Joys.
Has anyone else fallen drastically behind in their housework? Has anyone found how to manage to bring it back up to what others may see as a satisfactory level and keep it there? I'm not at home till dinnertime or later and leave by 8 on week days and often work weekends. Any advice would be appreciated apart from pick it up instead of stepping over it cos my arms just are not big enough and I feel like my house will soon be on the next episode of hoarders :/
Just popping in quick to say The_Mrs posted on her belly thread that they saw baby & a heartbeat :)
Kbudgie hope the next few weeks fly seeing bubs does make a difference
Me4 days off work bliss :)
Mel can't hurt to speak with your ob or GP depression is common in pg although you've also had heaps going on
Duches those morning are awful I hope the afternoon got better. My DS for ages every time plane went over that's wher our dead dog lives and when nanas dog died they are together lol cute but I wonder if flying again may prove interesting
Glad you past you icky date Lyra no gender finding out for me. Are you buying things now?
Damprye I wish I could get behind on house work pg makes me a tad over the top, especially with dust and the carpet
Me very tired DS up at crack of dawn and DF kept me up last night. Sleep in tomorrow :leap: the dam job I want at work still isn't advertised. I'm going crazy. But good things come to those who wait right? DS drew a picture of squirt looks like mr messy lol definitely a keeper. Going to laminate a scan picture for DS to take to child care I told them two weeks ago DS told them two months ago lol.
Hugs Melster! It could just be the fact that it's the pregnancy hormones playing havoc. They definitely do their bit here :$
Damprye - I hope they put it up quickly! I don't know what's going on either... Poor DS2 - hope he feels better soon. In regards to cleaning, I'm pretty lucky with being a part timer, but even with my extra days off I don't always get the housework done. Vacuuming is definitely not high on the list, but as long as my toilets, sinks in the bathroom, kitchen is cleaned up daily, washing done (clothes, towels, sheets) once a week, and stuff is generally packed away daily as well. It does help not having kids yet to muck it up again! I try to do a few things each day and then it means that I don't have to do it on the weekend when hubby has got time off work.
Greenslw - Hope you find a chance to have a rest today. Sounds cute, your son's drawing - maybe scan/take a pic and put it on the FB belly buddy page :) Fingers crossed the job gets advertised soon!
Lyra - Great to hear you've passed the 12 week 5 days! It's nice you can have a go at listening to your little one with the doppler. I had considered one in the past, but am just worried it will stress me more if I can't hear the heartbeat - possibly because I'm holding it in the wrong spot...
AFM 2 more sleeps and hopefully we'll be able to see a happy bub! I can't wait now. We'll be sooooo nervous come the appointment. DH is not feeling too flash at the moment, he suspects it might be the flu :$ I hope he will keep it all to himself, no sharing, please :)
Dopplers can be very stress inducing. My friend cannot find the hb on hers and she is maybe 1/3 my weight whereas I can usually find mine within seconds. Anterior placentas make it even harder as well. Judging by the sounds I get, my placenta is up the top but will ask Wednesday.
Lyra glad everything's going well and u have past ur milestone. I just had a 3 d scan at 16 weeks and I'm having another girl
Thankyou Damprye. I had post natal depression for about six mths after my 1 st dd.... More shock of having a baby I think and how it impacted my life. Second dd I was fine...i might have to start asking or maybe talk to someone to see. I'm not sure if it's external factors or more than that but I know I don't feel to good. I want to be heathy for myself and the kids. And things just keep getting lumped on me. I know I have never been good with this hormones ..... Not with all 3....
Get a house fairy :) my hubby hasn't been pulling his weight as he is finishing something off with his project .. But never has been that fantastic and all I feel I do is clean and then yell...... And pick up... I am not as on top of it .... Spend all morning ironing...... There's no real easy fix when you work and have kids and ate pregnant, the easiest way is yet stay on top of it do then it's not as hard. The first bit is ... But after that it's easier. Do you have someone you know who cleans and doesn't charge that much ? A younger family member wanting to make some cash? Can you get someone to take kids while you clean. What about a set roster that you right up and do on specific nights ??? Can someone help with the first major clean ?
That's good about the mrs
Thanks Greenslw
Thanks me4ever... Yea those hormones defiantly send me a bit cray cray.. They have all 3 pregnancies. It just sends me a bit uncontrollable...a bit jumpy and get quiet angry... External factors defiantly don't help.. The only time I get really effected is if I get frustrated with the kids...
I'm do tired. Last few nights think I have fallen asleep at 830 or 9 .. Wont b long tonight either. Hope dd s sleep ok
hi ladies,
reading through, but head still hurting, so sorry there's no personal replies.....
I am always behind on housework! feel like my house is never clean!
i have still got this sore head, can't afford to get a massage at the moment. It is easing now though..... Finally!
went to the baby shops and have figured out how to get 3 car seats in my car, so that's a big relief.....
sorry, I can't remember who asked, but yes I went early with both kids. Isabel I was in hospital from 35 weeks, had her at 38+2. Lucas was another emergency section at 37 weeks on the dot. So really hoping I can hold off until 37 weeks. I get pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes, which caused some complications particularly with Lucas. Hence the reason that we were done at 2.... Medically I won't be able to work past 32 weeks if the same thing happens this time......
I'm lucky my eldest will be 7 early next year, means I don't have to stress about her carseat!
I drive a new beetle so only two seat belts in the back so miss 2 and bub will be back there and due to all seats being taken by younger children a child between 4 and 7 can sit in the front.
We will be in hubby's bigger car on weekends and mine is Mums taxi ;)
My youngest turns two tomorrow :)
I have 2 carseat-convertible-boosters and a booster in my sedan and they by no means small seats, they are bulky expensive ones but they sit really nice, even with the booster being on the side. I do love my Holden and its a pity I have to sell it as just because my 3 kids will fit, doesn't mean I want them next to each other lol. Plus I have DSD to think about to now. My friend claims 3 fits in hers fine but the booster has to go in the middle and even then the seats get all slanted... That's without the two others being convertible and are just plain carseats. And she wonders why I prefer to use my car for outings. I'm sorry but I care about safety lol. Just another 2k to get my 7 seater. Will be tough to do si in just 3 more weeks. Has taken over 2months to get 4k. Really hope my car sells soon :(
It totally depends on the kids and the carseats about what fits!
Because I drive a beetle we had already bought the slimmest seats available, and my pram only fits in the boot if you take a wheel off... But I've done it for 6 years now so I'll likely make myself cope...
My bigger stress is fitting bub into the house and like you finding money in short amount of time... Pregnancy management fee and school fees etc etc coming soon.
We will likely take Miss 6 out of private school at end of year to save some $$$
Mel big hug I remember after DS I was totally shocked at feeling blue after IVF and a dream pg I was not prepared for all that came my way DF and I almost split too. Big adjustments.
All this talk of car seets is anyone buying a capsule I borrowed one last time but was just. Thinking of using DS car seat rear facing.
V21 hope you feel better soon.
Me4 goodluck for tomorrow
Damprye you must be great with your Doppler I'm glad I didn't buy one but still curious
Me my sleepin was wonderful but DS is just feral ATM not sure why but put him to bed early tonight. Exhausted!
Greenslw - thanks! Am still pretty nervous. I'm glad you had a good sleep last night! That would help a bit in dealing with DS. Is it stormy near where you are? Or storms predicted in the next few days? That can influence kids behaviour sometimes?!
AFM Feeling very down at the moment. DH has the flu, our washing machine has broken down, I got quite upset as we weren't invited to an aunties 98th B'day afternoon tea, while partner's brother and sister in law were invited with their cute baby... Felt a bit left out and then got upset as it's nearly a year ago that I had a missed m/c. It doesn't help having the extra stress of the appointment tomorrow. All will probably be well, but just extremely worried that last years tragedy is repeating itself again. So have been crying on and off this arvo. I'm also pretty homesick for my family that are all overseas. (Or I'm the only one in Australia and am the one that moved away...) Wish they were a bit closer.
hi girls,
im finally biting the bullet and posting in here, every other time i have had to leave again after posting in here......for those who don't know my story i have a 7 year old daughter and 5 year old son and since then i have suffered 5 miscarriages :( They have all been between 6 and 10 weeks and we think due to chromosomal problems, my scans usually show bub to be measuring behind and with a slow heartbeat and by the next scan the heartbeat is gone.
last year we turned to ivf in the hope by looking at the embryos we could pick the best to go back and we had a pregnancy in march that ended the same as all the others :( so then we tried pgd (chromosome testing) and had 4 embryos tested and they were all abnormal, that was devastating to say the least, we then did 2 cycles of ivf to collect more embryos for the testing, that time we tested 10 and only got 1 normal one, that one seems to have stuck.
The last 19 weeks have been so incredibly stressful and i have wanted to live in denial land, I have already been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and im on insulin, i could have done without that complication after all the stress i have already had but i had it with my son so i kinda know what to expect.
i have my morphology scan on wednesday, i have been so worried about it sticking and not miscarrying that i haven't really stopped to think about the possibility of something being wrong, i hope all is fine because i cannot do this again, the stress is too great
i hope i get to stay here until our happy ending this time !
*hugs* minniemouse xx fx your only stress is the diabetes. xxx gl with the scan
Minniemouse good luck! Do you have any other conditions making the abnormalities? That is so stressful.
Today is DD2 2nd birthday.... So it's my other day to think about her twin... My elder daughter has been talking alot lately about one out twins dying and asking if this baby will die too, which of course is hard to answer...
Miss 2 is full on and amazing an I had severe problems when she was 4 months old so I do think in lost her twin for a reason sometimes.
Had a horrible dream about this baby last night but will try and shake it today...
Just made hubbie buy me mcdonalds brekki .. No
Wonder I have put on 7 kilos ... But alot less than previous pregnancys. But boy was it yum. I have to have my 19 weeks scan in a week or so but thankfully I'm not too worried as I have just seen Bub. Wondering why my belly is noticably smaller than the other ones but I think bubs is growing at the right rate. Took kids to the walk in clinic yesterday. Don't know if I was just having a day!!! Or hormonal but the kIds decided to run a mok and everyone was looking at me!!!! I was getti angrier and angrier. How am I going to find it with three ????? I used to go out heaps as I'm pretty strict with there behavior. But being pregnant and when they act up I get really stressed and really annoyed at the displeasing looks of ppl .... I think I'm more calmer without the hormones. Dd2 was coughing all night she vomitted again. But he said its just coming from the nose down the throat. Think I might leave them home today while I tackle the shops with mum. Might just have to get used to staying at home more.
Greenslw yes it was an adjustment .. Dd2 was better, think it wil be an adjustment with dd3
Me4ever. Sorry you're having a craopy time. Maybe once you have you're scan it will help you feel a bit Better. Thinking of you
Hey minniemouse. I remember you. Congratulations on you're pregnancy and being 19 weeks. I'm glad this one stuck. Wow what a journey for you tho. I will pray and pray that there is nothing wrong with thr baby
Duchess. Happy bday to dd2 ... Probably dream was brought on by emotions from twin. Hope you have a good day

Sorry i just need to vent and see if this is me or not. I'm not sure whether it's dd2 getting older or the pregnancy hormones. But at the drs and then again at my aunties the kids were just being kids .. But I felt so uncomfortable there. It's not very kid friendly. Everything's so clean and in its Plc and she is quiet old... But it was the comments and mum would say things because she new auntie was on edge ... So I only stayed a little while. I felt like she was judging the kids and the way they wee behaving. They weren't doing anything .. Just being play full kids being bored.... So I don't know whether it's because I'm stressing with wondering how I will cope with 3 .. And I'm getting paranoid. Or it's the pregnancy hormones making me on edge or what. Doesn't anyone else get uncomfortable when out with the kIds?????
Me4 I hear you my dad ,over to Canada then my bro went for a holiday got a girl pg and 8 years later and three beautiful kids he's still there I miss them heaps but my mum is here and prob has kept me in sa longer than I would have. Where's your crew from? If not tmi no storms but he is sick today so there was a reason.
Mini mouse welcome and goodluck
Mel vent any time
Duchess happy birthday to dd. hope that shook the dream off.
Me work is doing my head in three places need me all urgent ahhhhh pg lady should not have to prioritise anything lol.
I do occasionally, like when I can tell Miss 6 is going to be a chatterbox and get hyped up and silly or when she asks inappropriate questions or when she makes her sister scream or when at the shops and she just won't stop touching everything... Or at someone's house who's kid is a sook or at an elderly persons house that is no kid friendly...
Hugs Melster - I can't really speak from experience as I don't have any kids yet. One thing to keep in mind is that older people forget what it's like to have kids, that of course they can be a hand full or bored quickly. Also they grew up in a different time where kids were supposed to be mini adults and were supposed to be behaving and not to be heard at all times...
Greenslw - family lives in the Netherlands, so miles away... :( Have met my nieces and nephews a couple of times over the years (oldest is 6, youngest is almost 1), there is one more nephew on the way and I probably won't see him for a long long time. Have your brother and his family come over here for a visit? or have you gone to visit them there?
Ob appointment went well! Bub is all wiggly and alive! I'm so relieved. We were both so nervous beforehand and I think part of that made me feel very down yesterday. We celebrated tonight with a bit of vanilla slice my mother in law made us :) The midwife told us first that the placenta was at the front, but the obstetrician said that the placenta was mostly at the back and curved around a tad bit to the front. He suspects we'll be able to feel baby soon. Now I wonder if the tiny little blobs I've been feeling might have been little one kicking me, so exciting! Now countdown till 5th of June for the morph scan :) Can't wait!
thanks for the welcome everyone
Duchess: no all my tests were normal so i don't have any genetic issues that might be causing a problem, I think it is basically down to my age although i do have quite a few endocrine problems (had half my thyroid removed, previous pituitary tumour etc).
I hope you had a nice day with your DD, those questions about the baby are so hard to answer I'm sure
Melster: you sound really stressed ! I'm starting to wonder how I'm going to cope getting 2 children ready for school next year and organise a baby too, i guess it will all fall into place, at least i hope so !
me4ever: great news your ob appointment went well, hopefully you can relax a bit now
does anyone else have trouble believing it's real? i feel this it's all surreal at times, work is there really a very active little foetus in my tummy! not sure if it's a mc thing or a lttcc thing, maybe both?
Yes, definately. Despite feeling like crap all the time, the various pains and the odd movement I havent really connected at all with this bub. I think its a self protecting thing. If Im not attached then it wont hurt as much if it dies. Which sounds awful, and Im slowly getting better now that I can feel bub moving, but my phych says its normal and understandable after loss.
Minniemouse!! I had a massive pituitary tumor! I had cushings disease and they removed the whole pituitary gland, and my eggs were fine at first then as a seperate condition 3 years after surgery I got premature ovarian failure and they tested to see if I was a carrier for the factor x gene because premature ovarian failure is rare for my age but more common in carriers of the gene. The gene means there is a 50% chance if I have a boy he will have the most common form of retardation. So I was one of the super rare people to have the ovarian failure without being a carrier...
Other than that with no pit gland I take meds to make thyroid work, meds to make adrenals work and meds to make kidneys work.
I've been a miracle patient for my specialist firstly just being cured from cushings then six month later getting pregnant with twins first fertility treatment and now getting pregnant again after only 9 months of trying.
But I won't be pushing the luck any further, this will be it!
Miss 6 is sleeping beside me with a terrible juicy cough and miss 2 has a husky voice but no cough but cries in pain most nights lately so I have a feeling today is going to be a long day...
Greenslw...thanks
Duchess...sounds fimilar :)
Me4ever....i think they get used to there lives and peace without children LOL...i have noticed a change in my mum also, even though she works at a creche ...she has become really short and gets frustrated at the kids...she has been sick though and has been different since my dad passed...but she is also very particular about her house and stuff the the right spot etc....that is so true, my dad died at 71 and he was like that, he was very strict and we had to be quiet and do as we were told and not allowed to mess the house up etc.....im quiet strict on my children, but there is only so much you can do when the kids get bored and have energy. Do you feel a bit better today, glad you had a good scan
Minniemouse, yes i do dont i....think these hormones are getting there way with me and the external factors. need to do something about it......and quick :) ill have a 5 year old at school doing drop offs and pick ups..and 21/2 year old and baby......FUN FUN...ha ha ha
Kbudgie....with the other 2 they were planned and i was very on it and on it and excited..especially after my mc...this one was a surprise and shock and for me although i talk about being pregnant and know im pregnant...i am also in denial i think...i sometime forget and it doesnt actually seem real even when i look at the scans and have the sickness etc....its like when she pops out it will sink in for me :)
Calluna..i am the same..i feel a bit disconnected with this one and feel bad because i was connected with the other two..
Sneaking in...I am currently 34 weeks, have endless movements, our nursery is all set up and ready to go and I still feel like its very surreal. I dont know if it will sink in until after the birth. I know I am pg, but it still doesn't compute that I get to leave hospital with our very own baby. I think it is a LTTTC and a mc thing too. Good luck with everything xxx
Sneaks out...
