So normal. And let's hope those pregnancy hormones have something to do with how you are feeling.
Have a cup of tea and just think positively. Think about seeing tiny bubba on the screen. I was the same every scan as it was a scan where I found out twin had stopped growing, I had no idea that was happening. So I have to trick my mind I be super excited and don't let myself get scared, it's hard.
I'll be thinking of you.
-
Thank you duchess, your kind words have set off another flow of tears but at least I'm smiling at the thought of all the support I get on BB, it's a wonderful feeling. DP's not 100% confident he can make it so knowing you're all with me helps.
-
ticktoc I was nervous the other day for the doc to use the doppler in case. ... We all know how you feel honey xx thinking of you
-
Tick tok....good luck today, sending you hugs and positive vibes...what times youre scan? yep all completely normal...i did the same!!!! i sooo wanted to know but then got really frightened....
-
What time is scan? (And what time zone lol)
-
Lol duchess - scan is at 3.30 and I'm in Vic. So nervous I feel sick & can't eat, feel sick because I'm hungry & need to eat. Sigh. Nearly time to put me out of my misery lol. No more tears so that's good.
-
I get sooooooo nervous every time an ultrasound or Doppler machine comes near my belly, I know how you feel! Lucky I can't eat before C/S as I wouldn't be able to eat anyway!!
I have everything crossed for you. Let us know as soon as you get out. I'm in qld so same time zone I'll check after school pick up how you went.
-
Sneaking in.... TickToc will be thinking of you at 3:30! X
-

-
Yay for the awesome news Ticktok! So happy for you!
-
First of all - thank you all so much for holding my hand the last few weeks, for putting up with my self doubt and for making me smile and feel supported, you are all truely amazing! :loveshower:
Today was great, at first I had doubts that there was a heart beat but the lady changed the settings on the screen and voila! I had tears running down my face, was so happy! She said everything looked great, nice strong, steady heartbeat and a wriggly bub. I know it's still early and I'm sure I'll have many moments of self doubt between now and February but for now I am at peace and want to shout from the roof tops - I'm having a baby and it's real! :bellygrowing:
I hope everyone has a great weekend xxx
-
Tic toc I'm so happy for you. Happy for you and dp.
Not good news for me today I missed out on the job been a bit emotional. My boss said I didn't sell myself as much as the other applicant. She congratulated me on pg and said she'd find something when I want to come back. So when I finish maternity leave I go back to part time. Good for ds and baby but not good for the budget. I was just hoping not to worry about money while on maternity leave bugger. Baby has been real active today keeps reminding me of what's important I think.
-
Sorry to hear that Greenslw :( Hopefully everything will work out money wise so you don't have that added pressure on you when baby is born
-
Oh greenslw that's not good :(
Just think for now about the time you will get with your kids.... Try not go think about the money... It must be so hard being a mum and the main money earner
-
Thanks tic toc and duchess trying to keep positive but not doing a great job ATM. Been up since 4 maybe 3 hours sleep. Looked at jobs online but a silly idea really then looked at rentals. Sell house and rent also silly. I am fine with finances through till June 2014. Which is ages just don't like not knowing what then.. Hard to know if I should keep a child care place or not. Start ds in a private school or not. Ahhhhhh my brain hurts.
We lived with my mum for 6 months a year ago when df lost his job disaster so not going there again. Pre baby choices make living cheaply hard. Two rural properties that won't sell doesn't help.
Ds just raced into my arms so greatful for ds keeps me grounded. I will be ok just have never worked we'll without a plan.
-
Tick Tok I'm glad ur feeling much better and reassured!!!!
Greenslw .. I'm sorry about ur news, hopefully some better news is around the corner. Maybe it's some better offer. Hope things work out for you.
I'm feeling quiet restless and adjitated , think its just the pregnancy and the hormones. I remember getting restless leg etc last time....

Thanks Mel I've snapped out of it now back into positive mode for me. It normally works out just need to trust.
Do you take pg vitamin? When I feel agitated its a lack of vit B. might be worth a try.
Had dss and gf over today and was busy planning my baby shower 22 sept ill be 35 weeks a little close to edd but sept is such a busy month rainbow elephant theme. Pretty excited good distraction.
-
Glad to hear you're feeling more positive Greenslw. Planning your baby shower sounds exciting - I never had one when I was having DD, I think it would be nice to have one this time around.
Melstar I read bananas are good to eat if you're feeling restless & agitated.
No new news from me - I have my job interview on weds so I brought some new tops that flow, don't want to give the game away just yet. I swear I felt flutters while laying in bed on Saturday - is that even possible at 9wks + 3??
Hope everyone has had a good weekend, it's been very quiet on here.
-
Ticktock - I felt flutters at 8 or 9 weeks I'm sure of it!! And even if you had had a baby shower you have such a big age gap you need another one!!
I had one with DD1 and DD2 was born one calendar month after my bday and I was in hospital and in a small town so baby shower wasn't even thought of, my family only think you get one for first child anyway.
-
Greenslw.. I was but I'm not at the moment. I might look into the vitamin b then
Ticktok... Bananas ok ill give them a go
I had a baby shower with dd 1 but not dd2 .... I was actually starting to pack my hospital bag to work our how many 0000 I need. How many do u think???? I'm spewing I gave boxes and boxes of clothes away all up too oo ... Coz we weren't having anymore :) a friend has given me some back but a lot of them have gone... Now I'm kicking myself because I had everything and such good stuff...now I don't want to go over board I just want enough to get us through ...
I'm sure I'm just restless from the pregnancy... I'm pretty tired... Going to sleep when the kids do :) but they have been sleeping like crap.. And dd2 is a nightmare at the moment. Sick and so clingy
-
How long were your other kids in 0000?
Dd1 came home in 000 because she was 57cm long and 8lb6oz
Dd2 came home in 00000 she was 50cm and 6lb6oz
I'd get 10 minimum? One for each day of week and a couple of spares?
-
Duchess I'm glad I'm not the only one who has felt "flutters" so early - it's a comforting thought even if the Dr will probably dismiss it.
Ahhh, shopping for baby clothes :) I've already brought a couple of pieces, not going to get 0000 at all as DD was in 000 from day dot and my DP and I are tall and "well built" so I'm thinking this baby will be on the big side as well. If by some fluke we need 0000 I'll have to send DP or SIL out to buy some.
-
Good luck with job interview tic toc. I say if you think you felt baby you did ob would say otherwise but you know your body.
No idea on 0000 ds was 4 2 kg and 57 cm so into 000. I've only got 3 cos I would like to buy pink or blue when I know. Good you're going to bed early ds is sick too I hate winter.
Duches I agree I think these days you can have a baby shower more than once, nice to get all your girl friends together for a nice bit of food and natter about babies.

Hi Ladies,
I just wanted to pop in and read your posts for a bit. Just warning you all in advance that I am so soo sooo time poor and am unlikely to keep up.
When I was last in here, the support was amazing and I'm back in because I am just as paranoid as ever. This time round I fear an unhealthy or disabled baby more than loss. Because I worry about the effect that will have on my two spoilt brats (who I adore and want to protect from any kind of hardship). And of course, just want baby to be healthy because I want baby to be healthy.
But at the moment, my first ob appt is so far away and I just cannot think of it as a baby. More like a missed period, that may lead to a new car, 6 new car seats, maybe a new pram, early toilet training and early transition to a single bed. But not a baby yet.
I had a scan at 5 weeks and there was no heartbeat, so it doesn't bode well.
Thanks for listening to my rant, and I hope to be half as supportive as all you lovely ladies in here.
x

dd41/2 i cant really remember..she was 7.11 born..and i think she was in 0000 for a week or two?? i was always measuring ahead with her and they kept telling me she was going to be a big baby..but i think it was fluid....she ended up being a bit chubby and has always been ahead in her clothes but she is tall as well..she was born summer
DD2 was 8kilo but lost weight in hospital about a kilo......and i think she was in 0000 for 3 or so weeks?? but my memory is bad.....she has always stayed in the right clothes for her age...she was born winter
Im alot smaller belly wise this time but i know that might not make a difference......i think i have 6 with feet and 3 without feet and 3 singlets so far.....i guess it just depends if you have a chucky..pooy baby :) .....and i have out some 000 in there...i will be in hospital 6-7 days for the section..
Pash...congratulations!!!!!!!!!!
Man i need to weeeeee.....she must be on my bladder....
Have ob appointment thursday...but seeing midwives this time.....
-
Welcome pash, try to think positive. I know it's hard (and I'm a hypocrite at times) but it's not good for you or bub to be stressed.
I cannot wait til I start having appointments with the midwives, I think it will seem more real. Hope everything goes well Mel :)
I have a GP visit today, will get my referral for bloods & NT scan. Good time to see the doc, feel too "normal" and once again need to talk about fears & get reassurance.
-
Ah, I'm gutted. Jut got my HCG tests. First one was 2300, then 6 days later 8540.
Should have doubled 3 times and been more like 18400. *sigh* well, now I just have to wait I guess.
Thanks for the welcome ladies.
-
I'm sorry the news wasn't better Pash, i have everything crossed that bub sticks for you <3
-
Fingers crossed pash - my hcg never doubled as expected & stressed me out to the point I didn't have my weekly test the last 2 wks but there was still a bubba with strong HB at my scan on Friday so don't give up xx
-
Have a LOT of pressure downstairs, so much so I have to keep my legs very spread and no chance of walking at all. My cervix is also very low and very soft. I can feel it with only inserting a finger to the first nub.
-
Plagued - You must be over the moon! A strong heartbeat! Yippeee!
Tictoc - thanks for the info about your HCG not doubling. THat really helps. You must have been so relieved to see that heartbeat!
Dampyre - What does that mean if you have a low soft cervix? I wouldn't know how to even find my cervix!
AFM - I have been madly googling normal HCG doubling rates. I have found some sites that give me comfort and other that don't. I really thought I would be over the obsessing this time round, but it seems the obsessing runs strong through my veins. Arrrrgh! Stop! I need to do some work, or sleep.

Pash...i hope everything turns out alright with you and the little bubs growing..so what is the next step? more tests or just waiting...
Damprye...so are you on bed rest then??
-
Sorry, last night my phone was about to die so posted quickly.
Pash- Low HCG Mumma here as well, every time. This pregnancy is the first to show up when I was due for my period, rather than a few weeks after I was due, also my only bub to have doubling HCG...oh and when I was due for AF and I did get a positive pee test, the HCG the next day was 17! And yup, 2 live fullterm births of my boys with slow rising HCG :) Good luck hun.
Melster- Yup, bananas are good. Potassium helps :) I get the horrid leg cramps where you wake up screaming and they are supposed to help with that too.
Ticktoc- Glad you are feeling more positive now :)
AFM- I think I overdone it yesterday (as per usual) I had to run to avoid getting totally drenched and was in agony since, not helped by being a balloon animal (edema). Cervix at this point in pregnancy should be high, firm, closed (1-2cm if had previous pregnancies) and posterior, not so low, soft and forward. Still 2cm which is good and it has moved back to posterior this morning. Ended up losing some plug though and leaking again last night. Period type cramps today and still hurts to close my legs but not as bad. BP playing up as well. Was heading to go help clean up a broken bowl and had to sit in the middle of the room because everything went black. I drank plenty yesterday and have been hydrated the last few days (dehydration makes everything so much worse) but can't this morning as the pain is making my usual nausea worse and I have already had ondansetron (threw up the maxalon) and need something to try and not hurl constantly all day, even that isn't doing enough to stop me vomiting when anything hits my tummy though but at least it does help a bit. Going to call the midwife and see if I can get in with her just to check things out. Lil Miss is going well, such a mover so that and the cervix moving back up are really good signs.
And I am on rest but not bedrest..no bedtime activities anymore though as it was causing too much issues with both bp and my irritable uterus.
-
Dampyre you sound like your body is making you so uncomfortable, feel for you.
Had a very quick GP appointment yesterday (she was running 30mins late & I had to get DD to her own GP visit) Doc is every happy with my scan & for me to stop having weekly BT. She gave me my NT scan & BT referral ($213.95 & $22 ouch!) and doesn't need to see me again til the end of August so she can give me the slip for 20 week scan :D 20 weeks, wow :) She will also contact the hospital & get the ball rolling there so that's exciting.
Had my job interview today, wore a new top & my favourite heels to try and feel comfortable. I think it went well but am glad it's over. What will be will be. Have a nice home to move into, a much wanted baby on the way, a gorgeous DD & fantastic DP so I'm feeling very blessed. The security of a permanent job will be the icing on the cake but if it doesn't happen I have other positive things I can concentrate on. Lol, feel like I've been bitten by the love bug - much nicer than the grumpy bug that seemed to have been plaguing me for the last few weeks :D
