Meredith, DD1 was born at 37.5 wks - I went into labour spontaneously. She was conceived naturally, so maybe I was out with my dates or something, I don't know. So technically not premmie, but she had some of the problems typically displayed by premmies - difficulty breathing, hypothermia, low blood sugars and jaundice. She spent 24 hours under lights for the jaundice in the end because her bilirubin was quite high. All up we were in NICU for 1 week before she was discharged to the ward - we came home a couple of days later. Anyway all of her problems were put down by the drs to my diabetes - low blood sugars and jaundice are more likely in babies of diabetic mothers with poor control - despite mine being very well controlled. I always wondered about this theory though, and of course could not disprove it. However since having Emma at 40 wks 5 days and controlling my diabetes well I wonder again, why did Emma have none of the problems that DD1 had? The only difference is the fact that she cooked longer KWIM? Anyway that's my theory I HTH, and of course don't forget that your bub could have none of these problems either, I guess the luck of the draw comes into it to an extent too.

WTH - Huge hun, sounds like you have had a terrible time I thoroughly recommend Brauers Joint and Muscle cream, a hot pack and a nice back rub from DH to help with the sore back muscles, I know exactly how you feel I'm so glad though that bubby is doing well

everyone else, hope you are all good today!
