Karen Van wow you are so close now so exciting and a homebirth how wonderful Hope your last couple of weeks are really relaxing for the joy to come.
Welcome TinaR
Hi to all,
ATM had my scan Monday was good mum was really supportive, it took ages! 45 minutes, got a couple of cool pics and a CD but it only has a pic of my plecenta and a hand on it! :( wanted more!
OB said all is going well, my pleceta is a little low but nothing to worry about I'll have another scan at 34 weeks wich will be really comfortable NOT! but on a cool note I heard baby's Heartbeat today for the first time, almost cried but didn't.
I'm feeling ok, really achy at night and not coping with sleeping on my sides, 2 hours turn 2 hours turn, toilet. But I'm going to book in to the physio asap.
Baby is a booter, love feeling the little but increasingly strong kicks.
-
Easha - Hope you had a good Anniversary!
WTH - Girdle is a little uncomfy and has not helped yet. Yay for washing baby clothes it does start to get you excited.
Karen Van - Good for you having a home birth, looks like we are just waiting it out now.
TinaR - Congratulations! i too sometimes lurk in the ttc thread so was pleased to hear your news. Good results too.
Meredith - Glad things are going well for you still and you are getting lots of movements.
Kath26 - Welcome and congratulatons on reaching 26 weeks
Greenslw - Glad things went well at your scan and you got to hear bubs HB, With you on the sleeping on your sides seem to be turning every hour or so too.
big :hello: to Erybery and anyone else hope you are all doing well.
AFM - Well have had my scan and yay little man has turned,so i get to wait and have my Vbac. I am so pleased. it was so strange as being nearly 37 weeks couldnt really make out much on scan. They did say he was about 7lb 3 now though.
-
Hello to everyone
Congratulations TinaR and Kath - it is lovely to meet you and you both sound like things are well on track!!
Many thanks to the kind thoughts about our homebirth - I get so used to hostility and some really interesting views on it (isn't that illegal, aren't you killing your baby...) that it always comes as a wonderful surprise when people are a little more accepting or even positive about it as a choice. We had one with our first daughter so we're a bit more organised this time. The only downside is that you tend to be a bit more persnicky with the house as it will be your birthing space ('I need that wall blue NOW"....) - so still trying to zen out a little more at the moment!
Good to hear you had a beautiful scan Greenslw - they can be a real hoot sometimes - IKWYM about how long they can go though - we had to have two goes at the 20 wk one and the first one was 50 mins - bub was not impressed and kicked up a storm...
Meredith - I echo Flowerchild's sentiments - you have done such amazing things with this pregnancy and it will be hard for me not to cry when you have this little one in your arms - it has been a hell of a journey and you have more than done it justice
Chappas - how wonderful that your little one is coming to the party - I so hope you get your VBAC sweeting - I have my fingers crossed bub will stay in a good position and help you out!!!
I hope everything is going well for everyone and may Spring bring you all a bloom and some strong energy!
AFM - vegie garden is almost in! Compost bin is set up - poor lame bull terrier seems to be recovering with steriod treatment - toddler is vacillating between being such a fiercely independent little person and a very uncertain, freaked out bubba girl (my heart has to go out to her) and I have bought a killer water-saver shower head which detaches with strong pressure for the birth - more baby clothes to sort and wash - - guess how much of my pregnancy journal I have filled in this time.... :wall:
Have a wonderful weekend
Karen van
-
Hi All,
Karen - definately have the waddle going.... feeling quite penguin like at the moment. Yay for the vegie garden and the saving attempts. We are also trying some cost saving things through eating at home more and having no life really much to DH disgust.
Tina - welcome and congrats on the rising HCG levels. Unfortunately the anxiety wont disappear for some time only lessen as the pregnancy continues. Stay positive that this time your bub will go all the way.
Greenslw - i wrote photos next to your name as a prompt but baby brain has not subsided and I can remember why - just read the posts - a hand only is not real good. we also have a few interesting shots that mean very little to us.
Chappas - yay for a turned baby and it seem both our babies are the same size I have also been tole my bub is 3-3.5kgs which is the same as 7 plds. Ouch - now to get it out.
AFM - full term now - with 14 days until due date. BP has gone back to pre-pregnancy range which is awesome. Cot has one more coat to go and there is a few more pieces of furniture to go - feeding chairs etc etc and then were done. Cant believe am going to meet my bub very very soon.
-
Chappas looks like you're little man will be right on size. Well done :D
Karen Van oh a vegie garden I'm gelous. My dog keep digging up my flowers so no vegies unless I electrify them. Happy sorting.
Esha how very very exciting. Glad I'm not the only one who scratched my head at a lot of the pics.
ATM: just doing my final exam with one class, only 5/10 showed up! oh well not my issue. I had a beautiful massage this morning and feel pretty good. Going to the physio on monday to make sure my hips don't get any worse.
Work :wall: but I'm not going there until Monday. I have 2 jobs teaching is fine, easy and I can do what I want and I manage a youth shelter and my staff are behaving like your Toddler Karen Van. Oh well Monday will come soon enough. :grouphug:
-
Greenslw: I completely agree, work :wall:. but it's a necessary evil for some of us! I've got my normal job that pays the bills and my business that I am trying to get up and going...maybe treat your workers like a tantrumy toddler - put them in time out
Easha: Lucky you, I can't wait to have only two weeks to go! You sound like you have nearly everything done...got the bag packed waiting by the door?
KarenVan: I really like the idea of a homebirth...its not possible for me atm but I think if it is safe for you then go for it!!
Chappas: do they expect your little man to put on much more? At least he turned for you, typical male left it till the last minute though lol
Kath: HI!!! welcome...26 weeks already? like I said earlier - I can't wait to be that far along, just want to be out of the first tri.
Meredith: Yippee on your little bub moving around! You must be so happy and excited.
WTH: hows the cough? cleared up yet? I've just got a mild cold with a cough...can't take anything which normally wouldn't faze me cause I rarely use medicines but not being allowed to means I wish I could lol
I know I have probably missed a heap of ladies, I just wrote to those I could see still on the screen...hi to everyone I missed and hope you are doing well
AFM - I've been getting those niggling pains, they are not very bad and not very often so I am certain the are the normal ones we are supposed to have but of course being into the 5th week I am starting to stress. I have my ultrasound this Thursday which I should be 6wks for, dates are all correct and they find a heartbeat.
This preg is different, hcg levels are higher, I get waves of nausea once in a while and I'm exhausted - even when I first wake up, plus  I'm peeing like its an olympic sport. its noticible apparently that I eat more and am tired cause people at work commented to me during last week :)
Thanks everyone for your warm welcomes and wishes for a H&H preg...its been great to meet you all and have this support!
-

big hi to everyone else.
afm - haven't posted in ages. just lurking. i'm good. m/s has pretty much gone. i still don't fee 100% bouncing off walls but i would say i'm 80% good. had a bad stomach bug last week that went for 5 or so days. not good but seems to have gone now. just some cramping left. paniced a bit but doc put doppler on and heard heartbeat so all good. i have blood test on thursday and nuchal scan on tuesday then ob the following monday. i will be over 13 weeks then and ready to blurt out the news. soooo looking forward to telling my nana and grandparents. it has been killling me. nana keeps asking if i am pg again and telling me i'm running out of time. gotta love nan's! had a great fathers day with everyone. sooo looking forward to next fathers day when dh is a dad. he will be such a good father. i am very lucky. he is a great husband. well, that's it for me. will continue to lurk and keep an eye on you all. i am very condifent this bubba is here to say and looking forward to having the scan out of the way and moving on!
-
Hello ladies,
It seems as though it has been along time for me between posts. I have been reading, just not posting.
tinar - glad to see your ticker moving along.
chappas - sounds as though your little man is nearly ready.
wth - I hope that you are feeling better.
z star - the next couple of weeks will fly for you, I'm glad that everything has settled down for you now.
Hi to everyone else on this thread.
AFM trying hard to take it one week at a time. Ms has been pretty bad over the past couple of weeks, with vommiting and everything. I have really been struggling to cook dinner, stay on top of the housework and look after my little man, although I am not complaining as the days that I don't vommit I get really nervous. My ms seems to be subsiding a little now, which is making me very anxious. I even looked into hiring a doppler, has anyone else done this? I think my nerves stem from my mc, where I thought I was nearly 13 weeks when I started bleeding only to find out that the fetus had stopped growing at about 10 1/2 weeks. My ob was happy enough with everything last time I saw him to not see my again until 13 weeks after my nucal scan, which is still 2 weeks away. Like everyone I am just hanging to get past the first tri before I can truly enjoy being pregnant. Apologies for such a worried post.
Cheers
-
hi joshsmum
good to hear from you! my ms has backed off too. i backed off when i was having that week of brown discharge and never really came back. i freaked out. i went to ob and he did a scan and everything was fine. i heard the heartbeat last week when i went to doc for my tummy bug. i got online and looked at hiring a doppler for the next month and then backed out. i then started to worry that if i couldn't get it in the right spot to hear the heartbeat i would freak out and it would make it all worse. i have my next scan next tuesday. it seems so long in between scans or ob visits and we all know the reality of what can happen in between. hang in there and stay positive. you have to do what you need to to keep your mind at ease. so, if that is hiring a doppler or having blood tests or scans than go for it. there is no right or wrong. i'm ticking the days off til i see bub on the big screen. can't wait!
-
Hi there girls,
hope everyone is well and happy.
TinaR- I read your posts and they remind me so much of how I was feeling in the first few weeks- especially the tiredness and the peeing!!!! Sounds like everything is going well- take care of yourself. Will be thinking of you for Thursday- your bub sounds like a sticky one!!
zstar- big congrats on 11 weeks! Good luck with your nuchal and blood tests.
josh'smum- sorry to hear you have had such bad m/s, hope you start to feel better soon. I know how worrying the first tri can be- although I never did, I think hiring a doppler is a great idea if it makes you feel more at ease. Wishing you lots of luck with the next 2 weeks.
easha- 2 weeks to go, you must be sooo excited. All the best, you sound very organized.
Karen van- I have read very beautiful stories about homebirths, and I think it's great that we have choices like this. Good luck with the final preps.......sounds like it's all coming together.
chappas- Yay to 37 weeks!! I have been reading abit about VBAC's and will be very interested to hear about your experience.
AFM- I visited my sister in Sydney over the weekend. She is 34 weeks pregnant with her first bub. It was so lovely to spend time with her. Left my boys at home and relaxed- with lots of eating, talking and lazing about!! I am constantly tired and have had alot of lower back pain- my hot water bottle seems permanantly attached to me!!- but generally feel good. Having lots and lots of movement from bub which is lovely.
To all the others I have missed, thanks for welcoming me to this thread. The support you give eachother is fantastic.
xx Kath

I had some bright red blood last night and of course freaked out. Went to Early preg service this morning and they did quantitive HCG and scan. :) Zen is now apparently 5wk, 3 days (one day diff but I won't change ticker yet) and my hcg is REALLY high apparently. Midwife is very happy and said call anytime I need to.
Feel like I can breath. Still have ultrasound on Thursday cause DB was upset to miss todays and I have ANOTHER one next Thursday lol....bring on that heartbeat.
-
TinaR- hun, that must have been very scary for you! Glad you have had lots of reassurance with HCG levels etc. Lots of . Take care xx

Tina- OMG that must have completely freaked you out. Very pleased to hear that your hCG levels are still very high. Hoping that your little bundle stays put.
Cheers
-
Thinking of you Tina! Can't believe that bleeding and probs keep happening to the people who are already stressing enough! take care xox

Sorry, will be back to do persies tomorrow but had to get out a "me" post cos my head is in a bit of a spin
Think I posted previously that growrth scan showed "upsy" to be on the small side and lowish fluid, although all else great
Well, OB has decided that based on that and the very complex history of this pg, that he wants her out SOON, as in withion the next 2 weeks ( 35-36weeks at max). I was not expecting this at ALL as bubs seems well and my OB is normally one of the most easy going kind of Dr's. Not over cautious at all.
GIven that, I have to assume he has fair reason to be a bit concerned but I am still scared about whether its the right thing to do. It means special care, not taking her home for a few weeks etc etc.
I have spoken to him a few times since on the phone just to get my head around it all amd I have now come to accept his professional opinion but its still a bit overwhelming given I am not really prepared at all for a baby to be here, let alone a premmie. Have been having 3 x weekly CTG's since the scan and everything fine so not overly worried about Upsy, other than possibly bringing her out sooner than she should
Fortunately, he IS going to let me try an induction/vaginal birth rather than c/s.
Will have an internal this wed to see where cervix is at. If not "ready" then he will let us stretch the pg to 36weeks which would be my preference
Man, I was just starting to relax a bit and hoping to enjoy the last "fat" weeks and now stress is back and I am sad to miss out on the last, good bits! I know it wi8ll be great to just have her safe in my arms but this pg has just been all to much
-
Meredith  I have been stalking from afar  but I am thinking of you!! This pregnancy has not been smooth sailing but in a short :o while you will have your little one here with you. Even if it is a little earlier than anticipated. Ask for another scan if you feel it may help to give you a little more cooking time. You know what your OB is like and whether he is justified in his concerns. I can't wait to hear she is safely here
-
Meredith - Thinking of you, i know it sounds very scary and you have travelled such a long road!Hoping the birth is as calm and natural as can be xox
-
Meredith  I can only imagine how hard this all must be for you.
I have to say though that based on my experiences with my 2 girls that I think the longer the bub can cook the better. But having said that, your ob sounds a lot like mine, very easy going and relaxed if things are OK. I know if my ob had suggested that I needed to have Emma early for any reason I would have done it - but I still would have been not happy about repeating the whole NICU experience that we had with DD1, just like you are worried about. Not much help to you really I know, but I just wanted to give an understanding shoulder :) and say that while our early days with DD1 were no picnic, we were never really worried about her getting through OK them either.
But will be thinking of you over the coming days, you have come so far and the finish line is in sight - hang in there
:hello: to all my other buddies in here too - hope you are all well! I don't get too much time to post these days
-
Hi all - have been lurking and reading in between packing and unpacking boxes, organising the big move and painting our new nursery!
Meredith - will be thinking of you and your precious little one, and hope you can get through to 36 weeks. Am sure your OB is doing/suggesting what he thinks is best for you both but can understand your anxiety - what a rollercoaster this pregnancy has been for you. Wishing you both the very best
Megsmum - nice that you are still popping in. How is little Emma doing - is DD enjoying the new arrival?
Erybery - not long now my belly buddy - r ur hospital bags packed? Hope all is going well
Tina - welcome to the thread and so sorry to hear about your scare. Glad things are looking okay. hang in there
Josh's mum - I completely understand your anxiety and unfortunately for me I am still worrying every day - think I will feel better once baby is here. I did end up buying a fetal heart doppler in second trimester and usually found it very easy to find the heart beat - so overall actually found it very reassuring until I could feel baby kicking a lot after about 24 weeks (since then have rarely used it) - have anterior placenta so took a while to feel lots of kicks. The one I bought gives heart rate reading as well as hearing heart beat but have found the heart rate reading to be a bit inaccurate and all over the place and that caused a bit more anxiety. My OB said it is most important that you can just hear the heart beat but not to worry too much about the numbers (he wasn't that pleased that I bought one as he thought it would result me in ringing him more - but it didn't end up like that and it eased my mind on many occasions).
Greenslw - only realised the other day you are a fellow adelaideian! Yeah for adelaide. Hope things are going well with your pregnancy
Easha - wow you are so close now. Good luck with the labour and delivery - wishing you all the very best.
Chappas - you must be really close too - good luck - look forward to reading your birth announcement.
Karen van - how lovely to have a home birth - good for you. Wishing you all the best.
WTH - how are you doing? I read in another thread that your DD might have swine flu. How is she doing? Hope all is going okay - you have been in my thoughts. I have been so paranoid about getting swine flu - have been avoiding big crowds and even doing my grocery shopping on-line to minimise exposure to sick people. The grocery shopping on-line incidently has been fabulous - no need to lift heavy bags in and out of the car and so convenient. Think I might even continue this during first 8 weeks or so after bubs is born.
AFM: Busy packing up one house, un-packing the other, and finally painting and setting up my nursery. We have gone with 3 pink walls and one mauve wall and it looks soooo girly and cute, and matches in well with the kids-line range of cot accessories etc I have brought. We have been told it looks like a girl on two scans to thought it reasonable to risk it, but if bubba turns out to be a boy - hubby is going to just have to repaint very quickly - lol. Removalists coming friday so that is day we will be living at new place. Just can't wait to get in there now and get everything unpacked and to feel settled in one place. Counting down the days till due date - still getting nervous about everything being okay, and not sleeping well at nights (not helped by needing to pee about six times a night!) Lots of new aches and pains too but all good and no major issues. Mum is putting on a baby shower for me on saturday (should be fun) - its my second baby shower - as work girls did one for me a couple of weeks ago - so spoilt - and this baby is definately going to be spoilt big time - she already has a stack of gorgeous clothes and lots of toys etc!!
:grouphug: to everyone and big hi to all of those I haven't specifically mentioned. Am thinking of you all
-
babymiracles - Emma is doing very well thanks :) Feeding like a little champion and she is getting so heavy to carry around! The only bad thing is that she has a little cold ATM :( The rest of us have had it too so no surprise, but the poor little thing has had a bad few nights. At least she seems a bit better today though. All the best with the big move, hope it goes smoothly! The nursery sounds beautiful! GL with everything, not long now :D
Karen V - I thought you must have been having a HB - good on you, and all the best with it. I think it would be wonderful, too bad I am classed as high risk and DH would never agree to it LOL Oh well, at least I had a fantastic ob and didn't have to stay in hospital for long! Mind you, if I'd left it a bit longer to leave for hospy I would have had a home birth anyway ROFL That would have freaked out poor DH, he doesn't cope well with the sight of blood!
Hi again everyone else, sorry for the lack of persies. Will try and do some soon, but I have to say it is wonderful to see so many new ladies in here. GL to you all and take it easy through the early days
-
Can only manage another quick pop in - seem to have so many things to organise!
Thankyou to all of you thinking of me especially flowerchild and Michelle who I I have known but not "chatted" with for sometime. Lovely to know you are still watching out for me - really appreciated!
Megsmum - thankyou too. Can I ask what gestation your DD1 was born and how long in hospy etc?
Easaha,Chappas and Karen - all you ladies are so close its going to be a race to the finish! Hoping to hear some happy birth announcements soon
WTH - Hoping your DD is on the mend and you are not becoming ill at all. Can't believe you and I were IVFing it together 8mths ago - doesn't feel that long!
Babymiracles - HOw exciting getting the new place all ready - its such a fun time with your first. Hope you have a wonderful baby shower
BIg hellos to the many I have missed especially those in the very early days. I know only to well how horribly nervewracking those first 12 weeks are
To elaborate for whoever asked ( sorry can't remember). I did actually insist on a repeat scan last week. OB wasn't keen ( just doesn't seem to like scans much!) but obviously had to agree. So had that with a different Sonologist on Friday.Turned out that scan measured "upsy" much more "normal" and symmetrical. Slightly small but bertter than 9 days previously. NO explanation really for the quite marked difference . Was different Drs doing each scan but the previous Dr we know VERY well from this pg and DS's and I trust he would have measured accurately. I had the w/e thinking we were off the hook for the early delivery. HOwever, speaking to OB yesterday, he said his decision wasn't based solely on scan results. Also takes into account my m/c hx and particularly having lost a twin in this pg plus all the subsequent complications. Just have to trust his experience on all this that he still has concerns about risking letting her go to term and possibly the placenta failing etc.
I am not 100% convinced that she "needs" to come out so soon but OB had initially said 35weeks and has now relented to 36.5 wks if all ok which I am bit happier about. HOnestly, this pg has just been so stressful and draining, I am to physcially and mentally tired to put up any more fight. Its not in my nature to just accept the word of Dr's when I am not 100% about the decisions but I think I am ready to just try and trust him on this one and let mself be at peace. I do think he is an excellent OB and as I said, usually on almost to easy going side.
-
Sweetheart
Take it a day at a time. Every day Upsy is in there is a day better for her. Honey 36 weeks - that's a term baby - she will be fine I am sure. Get that colostrum into her & keep the formula police away!
Start now doing some expressing of colostrum and freeze it. It will help it truly will.
You are so much further along than what you envisioned. This baby girl is alive and well right now. We want her to stay like that. Like you it goes against my grain to swallow the word of one. Sometimes we have to. Go inside yourself abnd listen to your answers. KNOW you have our support and hands to hold...
-
Just popping in to offer Meredith my support. Sounds like your ob is quite conservative so wouldn't want upsy out unless it was best for her.
AFM - hospital appt tomorrow hopefully the baby is engaging now..... ready to meet my bub.
-
Firstly - Meredith -. I had not checked my computer the last day or so. It has been quite a journey for you and me, hasn't it!? And I understand how weird it is when something comes out of left-field and you have to get your mind around it. I do know you have received excellent care this PG and was relieved to read you had a better scan result this time around. I had my 34 wk scan yesterday. I had hoped it might give me a better indication of how early this baby is coming. All I know is my cervix remains closed, for the moment. The operator wanted to know what I was doing differently this PG. DD was always on the 50th percentile, but this one is much bigger. I originally thought it might have been all the extra chocolate, but I have to admit I have been resting a lot more. No painting rooms and building vegetable gardens this time around. And less to shop for, of course. The operator said that resting is the advice given to help "smaller" bubs catch up a bit. So I was going to suggest that you slack off big-time until 36 weeks, ok? And thanks for checking in on me on my swine flu thread x POST EDIT: If only making baby's grow was as easy as putting our feet up - but it can't hurt.
AFM - It has been a rough week or two. DD was diagnosed with possible Swine Flu. Like Babymiracles I had been sooooo careful - shopping on line, religiously using anti-bacterial handwash, etc. But, there had been a couple of birthday parties lately... Anyway, DD ended up on Tamiflu and I have been on Relenza (as a precaution). DD seems to be over the worst of it, though she still maintains a mild temperature and now has general cold symptoms. But she is a much happier chickpea which makes life a lot easier. I continue to suffer with a post-viral cough. The pain in my chest has graduated also to my back. It hurts like crazy to cough (which I still need to do) and breathe deeply. Coupled with the return of my sciatica I am pretty miserable. The combination really complicate bedrest. Last night it hurt to lay down or roll over, so I had to sleep pretty much sitting up  Had my Ob appointment on Monday and 34 week scan yesterday and things are going well. Bubs is large, throwing the dates out a bit. So if bubs comes early, as anticipated, it should be pretty healthy. My obstetrician has confirmed if it comes early he definitely wants to do an emergency CS even if things are progressing well. Not too thrilled about this, as a friend of mine has had two emergency CS followed by an elective and she says the recovery is sooooo much easier with the latter. But I guess doing it this way is safer than taking the 50% risk of incontinence anticipated later in life (for those not in the know I had severe 3rd on 4th degree tearing thanks to forceps with DD).
Sorry not to continue with persies today. I am really behind on some work (though writing on BB is much more interesting)
-
Meredith, DD1 was born at 37.5 wks - I went into labour spontaneously. She was conceived naturally, so maybe I was out with my dates or something, I don't know. So technically not premmie, but she had some of the problems typically displayed by premmies - difficulty breathing, hypothermia, low blood sugars and jaundice. She spent 24 hours under lights for the jaundice in the end because her bilirubin was quite high. All up we were in NICU for 1 week before she was discharged to the ward - we came home a couple of days later. Anyway all of her problems were put down by the drs to my diabetes - low blood sugars and jaundice are more likely in babies of diabetic mothers with poor control - despite mine being very well controlled. I always wondered about this theory though, and of course could not disprove it. However since having Emma at 40 wks 5 days and controlling my diabetes well I wonder again, why did Emma have none of the problems that DD1 had? The only difference is the fact that she cooked longer KWIM? Anyway that's my theory ;) I HTH, and of course don't forget that your bub could have none of these problems either, I guess the luck of the draw comes into it to an extent too.
WTH - Huge  hun, sounds like you have had a terrible time :( I thoroughly recommend Brauers Joint and Muscle cream, a hot pack and a nice back rub from DH to help with the sore back muscles, I know exactly how you feel :( I'm so glad though that bubby is doing well :)
:hello: everyone else, hope you are all good today!
-
Deb - thanks so much for the kind words. I know that you, more than anyone, know the hardships of trying to hold a baby in for as long as possible.
As for the expressing advice.... already started couple of weeks ago although not that religous. Will get into it more now when I can find the time!
WTH - YOu poor darl. Sounds like the last bit of your pg is not the exciting time it should be eithetr. Glad DD on the mend. If only you could be too!
Great that bubs is big and doing welll. Hopefully he/she hangs it out until your plannned c/s date
megsmum - thanks for the info re your DD1. Sounds like a rough time. Hope we can avoid that but guess I will have to deal with whatever comes now
AFM - CTGs have been fine and Upsy still active which is great. Had appt with OB today and eased some of my concerns re induction. Stil not over the moon re the whole deal but don't have much choice.
Turns out I am already 2cm dilated so may well go on my own before induction date! OB has now set this for next Thurs given I am "ready" to go anyway. He feels its probabnly my body preparing as bubs needs to come out sooner anyway. Have had another freak at the reality of a date now set but beginning to switch to practical organisation mode. EEEK, this time next week I will be only hrs away from meeting Upsy ( if she hasn't come already)
-
Meredith :o I will be patiently waiting for the birth announcement
-
TinaR - Thinking of you today as you have your scan!
-
Meredith, just letting you know that I'm thinking of you, and can't wait to see Upsy's BA :). I hope you can hang on as long as you need to, 36 weeks sounds pretty good to me. Deb's advice is perfect, as per usual ;). Express now if you're able to, so she can have your colostrum in SCN. If I was still lactating I would offer you my BM! I hope all goes well, and that her stay in SCN is very brief. My 35 weeker wasn't in there for very long at all, I hope you have the same experience :). Good luck hun, although I don't think you'll need it ;).
-
Meredith - Replied to your PM. Sending you a world of well-wishes for the imminent arrival of Upsy Daisy. Can't wait to hear your good news :D
-
Meredith - just wanted to pop in and give you good wishes for Upsy's birth. I've been reading your story intently for months and it is so good to see you so close to the finish line. All the best.
TinaR - hope everything has settled for you.
WTH - Hi there, I'm still lurking - still watching you - glad to see everything is going well with your bub at the moment. Won't be long and we'll be reading your BA. Hope DD1 is feeling better (and you as well)
Easha - woo hoo. you're almost there. looking forward to your BA as well.
Megsmum - glad Emma is going so well, time to update some photos on FB.
Sorry to everyone I've missed - I haven't posted here for such a long time, although I lurk and check in on what is happening.
AFM - Cruising along just fine - one of those ridiculously easy pregnancies that you hate to read about - no m/s, my major problems have been back ache and headaches, and never ending tiredness. Bub is right where bub should be - growing at the right size for dates. Can't wait for December to get here, although November is going to be really busy. We've got a wedding (where I'm a bridesmaid), my DS1's school formal, DS2 is going to Canberra for a school excursion, DS1 will be off to schoolies (that is a frightening thought) and at some point in between all that I will need to finish work and finish sorting out bubs stuff.

Mollycat great all is smooth for you someone has to have a pg like that may as well be you :D
Hope I haven't missed anyone, been ages in between posts sorry been a hectic week/month already. Supervisions monday with staff went well. All happy atm we'll see. Bumped into an Aunty I haven't seen in ages at a General Staff meeting cried and spent most of the time catching up not working oh well.
Squeak is going great, kicking me heaps.
Went to the physio and now wearing a big elastic band to bed cos my hips send pins and needles down my legs when I sleep. 1 hour turn 1 hour turn, pee, turn etc.
Sad news this week my Belly Buddy in the flesh had a MC  I'm so sad for her, 7-8 weeks, she told EVERYONE, her history of TTC is pretty rough and she was so over the moon, I'm hoping she follows in my footsteps and her baby miricle comes soon. Cake date tomorrow Arvo.
:grouphug: hope all you wonderful ladies are great.

Scan went great :) bub is spot on with dates (5wks 6days), HCG levels are through the roof and Zen's heartbeat was 107.49bpm!!
It looked like i had swallowed a diamond ring lol
no bleeding anywhere near Zen either which is a relief.
Thanks for all your thoughts!
Will do persies over the weekend
-
Tina - I'm so glad that Zen is doing well despite that scare. Woohoo for a great heartbeat!
babymiracles - Enjoy your baby shower tomorrow. Sounds like you could use some fun time out. Moving is exciting but so stressful at the same time. I suppose its easier now that after bubs arrival. Not long now.
megsmum - Glad you and Emma are doing so well. I hope Emma gets over her cold soon.
Easha & chappas - Am eagerly but patiently awaiting your birth announcements.
WTH - I was sorry to hear DD had swine flu. I'm glad she seems to be on the mend. Now if only I could say the same for you, poor thing . Dealing with a sick child, a cough and sciatica as well as the possibility of bubs coming early. I hope bubs hangs in there until your scheduled CS date. Take care of yourself.
Karen - You sound so organised for your birth. I hope it goes as planned. I'd prefer a homebirth, just because I think I'll cope better in familiar surroundings. But DH didn't want to consider it. He wants us to be where we need to be if anything goes awry. Instead, I'm going to try to stay at home as long as I can during the first stage.
Meredith - Have been reading and thinking of you and Upsy. An early arrival may not be ideal, but your doc obviously thinks its the best option. Sending loads of well-wishes for you and Upsy.
mollycat - Glad all is well with you. Its just as well you've had an easy pregnancy. The busy time ahead will make up for that!
Greenslw - I've been a little slow on the uptake too. I didn't realise you're in Adelaide until babymiracles mentioned it. Wow, that actually makes 3 of us! I'm so sorry to read of your friend's loss. At least she has an understanding friend in you.
:hello: & :bellyrubs: to zstar, josh'smum, kath26 (welcome & congratulations), erybery, lauren22, Theresa, Rach and anyone I've missed.
AFM - I met with my boss on Wednesday as it was time for our annual "planning, development and review" (really just university beaurocracy at his best). He actually wrote on my form under personal and professional objectives "pregnancy and outcome" then for outcome measure he wrote "BABY!" At least I work for a guy with a sense of humour. But it seems that I have to finish work at 34 weeks - there's no way around it. I want to work until 36 weeks but university policy demands I have a fitness for duty certificate to work beyond 34. Because I'm going through a midwifery clinic, the hospital policy is that my midwife can't give me a certificate because the hospital isn't prepared to be held responsible if something happens at work. This is ridiculous as I have a desk job based in hospitals, so if anything happens, I'm right where I need to be :wall:. So I have to finish up at the end of October, which means there won't be an opportunity for a handover because replacements for the 3 of us who are pregnant won't be starting until November (that's provided they get 3 as they have only just advertised). Oh well, at least then it won't be my problem anymore. Maybe I should just relax and enjoy the time off before bubs arrives. Everyone's predicting that bubs will arrive early anyway.
I actually felt a hand (or a foot) yesterday. I've been getting kicked/punched in the ribs on my right side the last few days. I'm trying to sit up straight at work to give bubs a little more room. Anyway, I could feel a pressure just under my rib cage which was a little uncomfortable. I pushed on that spot gently to try to relieve it and I felt this little lump that quickly moved away. I feel bad for startling her and have been paying for it since with lots of little nudges to my ribs. Some of them really make me jump!
I hope everyone has a great weekend.

hi
tina - so glad everything went well. have been thinking of you.
greemslw - so sorry to here about your friend. it is so sad.
big hi to everyone else!
-
Tina - so glad your scan went well. What a relief ! Bleeding is always scary ( I am THE queen of bleeding in pregnancy) but often doesn't mean bad things
Thanks to all you other lovely ladies for the kind words and well wishes. I don't get on BB nearly as much as I would like but its so lovely to know I still have great friends out there.
Upsy is fine and still staying put thus far so just wasjing/packing etc etc prior to Thurs
-
Hi All,
Mollycat - yay for the easy pregnancy, mine has been quite similar which is nice after all the issues falling in the first place
Megsmum - cant believe Emma is 1 mth already !!
Greenslaw - I know what you mean by turn, 1 hr, turn pee lol.... so frustrating. Hope the pins and needles stop.
Tina - yay for a good scan
Hannah - what a bizarre workplace policy....... oh well more rest before bubs arrival
Meredith - not long now... maybe we will have our bubs on the same day??
AFM - think I had my 'show' last night - a big blob of goo with blood throughout (TMI). Current mums did you experience this and then how long was it before labour started?? My tummy is quite heavy today and feels like its sitting on my lap?? My time is near by the looks of it!!!
-
Easha - The same happened to me, then my waters broke the next day and I had DD1 about 9 hours later. Sounds like it won't be long until you are holding your little one - good luck!! Heaps of birthing vibes coming your way :D
