Murray - oh sweetie - don't dismiss how tough you are doing it. We each have our own battles.... yours is now. Big hugs for such a tough day. Anyway, about HCG - In general, the HCG level will double every 2-3 days in early pregnancy.

What is important about the HCG levels is not so much the level itself but that it doubles every 48 to 72 hours. HCG levels peak at about 8-10 weeks of pregnancy and then decline, remaining at lower levels for the rest of the pregnancy. There is a large variation in a "normal" HCG level for any given time in pregnancy. There are lots of charts out there. I think I even had the "usual ranges" on my pathology report results. But I found one that seems to be in accordance with what I remember. The link to it is HCG Levels. Your levels sound good hun. And you know what - awesome for you to be so good about DH going out with the boys. It will do him the world of good, and I suspect you. Do something really nice for yourself, something that will relax you ok?

HPL - so good to hear from you! And can't believe we are about the same way along! Way cool. I don't think I look preggers either, but DH and the Ob gallantly insist I do. I think I just look a little thick around the middle. But I hear you on clothes not fitting, well most of them, so something must be going on. That is so cool about your baby loving the sounds of your DH's voice. I think ours loves the sound of the cats purring. Sorry about your backache. So far so good for me in that regard, I get some niggles but they are minor so far, despite the bed rest. I just get really sore hips, and sometimes knees and butt. I also tend to get numb arms/shoulders a lot but it passes if I change how I sit/lie. But I started to get sore hips after Amelia was born so who knows. Might be pregnancy related or not. Time will tell.

SammyP - good to hear bleeding has eased. Did you get your scan for Tuesday?

Kit - how are you going?

AFM - one of my furbabies was diagnosed late last night with hyperthyoidism. Too much of some hormones, means increased metabolic rate. Weight loss no matter how much he eats but it has some serious consequences if untreated. Luckily we seem to have caught it early. There are some treatment options but until we decide we have to shove a tablet down his throat twice a day. Oh well, I need to harden up anyway, this will do me good. Although I have given him a leave pass tonight, as I reckon he needs the chance to fully recover from the anaesthetic from yesterday before he gets hit with more meds. Some cats have a reaction to them, so I prefer that he at least has the chance to feel normal again.

Belly rubs to all.
